60 of 188 · most liked firstExcellent adventure series. Bought the whole set when it was on sale, wasn't disapointed. Unfortunately the first game didn't work for me right out the box. HDTV hates low resolutions. There's a fix for it somewhere to get it running in windowed mode, but since I wanted to see what I got straight away, I started off from Black Mirror II. The story was well enough to follow without the first "book", so at least there's that. Well, I might've missed a bit of backstory on the protagonist... but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played all three parts of this game now, it was a very nice experience! The game really matured when compared to the first part, the plot was exelent (as were the previous' game ones), and the scenery and characters well thought out. There is a decent amount of playtime value in this part as well, its certainly wont let you down in that regard, all in all: Great gameplay, no major bugs encountered (just a tiny one where I had to let a puzzle be autosolved for me, no biggy), excelent story…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game - best to play Black Mirror II first although I played the third first without any difficulties picking up the previous plot. Likes: - complex and dark story line; - good voice acting; - puzzles make sense (e.g. the protagonist is a Physics student, and quite a few of his puzzle solving revolve around chemistry and mechanical repair rather than find a special key to fit into a special lock under a special day with full moon etc etc); - good graphics, considering the game is getting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The swansong of a really great trilogy! You should play the previous two parts before starting this one, in fact it is mandatory to experience the magnificence of the story. Graphics are essentially similar to the second part albeit a bit more detailed. The story however is by far the best of the three as it reaches the climax and you finally meet what the game is all about - the Black Mirror. 10/10!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hands down, one of the best overall "point & click" adventures I've ever played. Every game has its quirks and issues, without exception -- like most such games, this one has its moments. But overall I've found this game and its predecessor (BM2) unsurpassed in terms of atmosphere, depth of story, character development, exploration, puzzle design, etc. And by the way, you should know that as far as "horror" goes, while it does have some pretty morbid imagery at times, this game is much more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Black Mirror III is the shortest of the trilogy, but pleasingly it is also the tightest game, with a well judged sense of humour. Following on immediately after the events of II, Black Mirror III feels like a story finally building to it's climax from the get go, as the game delves even further into old locations and the infamous Black Mirror castle. The repurcusisons of the events of the second game now litter Willow Creek and it's residents, and by doing what the trilogy is best at, you get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So glad I took a chance on buying the 3 pack last week when it was on sale. It was all i could play this weekend. I just wanted to find out what came next. Never heard of this series before, but I'm glad I found it. Little disappointed at the rushed ending of #3, but overall I loved the series. Wish there was an add on to play while rebuilding the castle and repairing the reputation of the Gordon clan while finishing the seemingly never ending job dropped on Adrian at the end.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yus! The main character is swell. His jokes and sarcasm is just lovely. And Mordred's love for sharp objects is simply adorable. It makes him less frightening; makes him look like a curious kid. A ninja kid who loves tea parties, heh. What happend to Bobby and Mat afterwards? I don't really care about Mat, but Bobby is a cool character. What about that prisoner that was in the cell with Adrian? The cops didn't even give a fudge about the slightly bad situation he ended up in. Mark the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Watching a series build to a satisfying conclusion is rare pleasure in the gaming world. Rare, because most series either don't end, don't reach a conclusion before being canned, or stuff up the conclusion they get. Black Mirror is an especially remarkable series because not only was it stretched into a series by different developers, it catches that elusive satisfying ending. And on top of that, it manages to be the best-designed and most entertaining out of the entire trilogy. I made a big…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So after playing the previous two and most of this...had to ditch it. It's a chore and feels like a massive slog to get through. I abandoned it at the 'shadows' puzzle. I just couldn't be bothered after trying it 40000000000 times. It's a real shame as I'd gotten so far with it, but I was just to annoyed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Remember those 3 endings in the last 30 minutes in "Lord of the Rings 3"? that's how anticlimactic I felt while playing this game. For me, the second installment ended perfectly. yes it was kinda an open-ending but still a good one. Here, I couldn't find any progress to the story. You can actually minimize the whole story here down to only one or two hours gameplay but certainly not 12 hours! The second installment gave already all information you need about the story and since there's nothing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very good horror adventure game, start by playing the other 2 first in order to get the full story. Definitely recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you've played Black Mirror I and II, you probably should play this just to see where it goes - but only just. This game is a classic "wish I could give a neutral review". All the elements of a decent game are there, but they just don't come together. There are some interesting, thoughtful moments, but also some unforgivable flaws. It starts out strong, but I got the feeling that the devs just ran out of steam for the later chapters. There's bugs, puzzles that feel unfinished, and a clear…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a terrible adventure game, no wonder the developers went out of business. I really enjoyed the second game in the series (I didn't play the first game), so I was expecting to like the third one. Instead, it bored and frustrated me. The first two thirds of the game consisted on endlessly revisiting the same handful of locations, talking to a handfull of people, again and again. The locations are redrawn versions of the same locations you visit for part of the second game. Very few puzzles,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first it was fun and most of the puzzles were quite intuitive (or you could solve them because you had just a few items in the inventory), but as the game progressed the search for items became almost a chore. After 9 hours, having reached VI Chapter of the game, I nearly ragequit after having to re-visit the same old rooms and locations for the umpteenth time to gather the things that NOW you can pick up, but you were unable to do it just 10 minutes ago! No longer a deductive challenge, the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I actually forgot this game existed until recently. Black Mirror II ends pretty definitively (or so it seems). That said, I'm glad i rediscovered it and decided to play, as the Black Mirror series are some of my favorite point and clicks and III adds a lot to the series. For one thing, there is a marked difference, in my opinion, in how coherent the storyline is. The first game was interesting, but sort of all over the place - if there's one thing that forcing a more linear rigidity does give…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Here we are then, Black Mirror 3. What can I say? It left me with seriously mixed feelings. I felt incredibly annoyed at some of the puzzles (especially near the end, and because of it I didn't bother finishing up anymore). It was too aggravating. Too many challenges at the wrong time! I hate when a game leaves me feeling braindead (and this was the case with BM 3). As much as I love the graphics & the main characters (+ subcharacters), some of the puzzles really blew it for me. And I felt…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I miss games like this, unfortunately not a lot of them these days. Great story plot, and for someone who is a sucker for point and click this is top 1 series
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"This is the real gem of the series, refined in every way from its predecessors and providing a satisfying conclusion to an excellent gothic horror tale." This comes from a curator I have now unsubscribed from. Because the opposite of that statement is true. While the second game was a refinement in gameplay, with several quality of life additions, this third game is not just a step back, it even regresses from gameplay mechanics of the first. All of the gameplay functions (inspect system,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good conclusion to the series, although in all honesty I preferred the second game a bit more. It's still a great game but I found the overabundance of lore thrown in your face a bit much, just went on and on when I think being a bit more mysterious would of been a better choice. Or at least make it optional. Also found the inventory to be quick clustered with too many letters, books and random bits of paper. Made scrolling through the items or combining a bit annoying. Puzzles were a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Black Mirror III is a pretty good game that feels like the proper sequel to Black Mirror. It starts off interesting and great but the game is slow paced so you will have to be patient. A great soundtrack with some real good scenery too. 8.2/10. Glad I played this until the end :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am a big fan of point and click adventure games, so beware of that predisposed bias. Black Mirror's strongest attribute is the story. Every time I have beaten one of the games I want more, it draws me in with the mystery and I love all the story details included as the plot develops. Although, the graphics are not particularly impressive, nor is the way the characters interact with objects and each other, what the game lacks it makes up for in a tantalizing plot. I am also always pleasantly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An amazing game series ruined by horrible mini-games and a 'was that it' ending. I've really enjoyed this series so far and still liked most of this game. They improved the walking speed and jumping to exits. But man, the bad side and this was killer - the mini-games are atrocious. At several points while playing I was so frustrated, I had to leave, not just the computer but my house! For example, at one point there's a mini game to reassemble a skeleton. I took time and did it, no result.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably the best of the series (but that isn't saying much). Essentially the second half of one game (BM2 being the first half), the game's first few acts are okay but are just more of the same from the previous entry. It has pretty much the same locations and the same cast of characters. The game has even less horror then the previous entries in the series (which barely had any to start with) and even goes some lengths to make Mordred relatable or even likeable. The final act is incredibly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playing all three back to back was awesome. I really enjoyed finally finding out the end of this story. I will admit the ending was a little fast for all the culmanation, but still great to finish off this trilogy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best game from Black Mirror will always be the forst one, but the third one comes in as a close second. I loved the atmospheric experiments and the characters' development in the game. It is worth playing for sure, but I also advise everybody to try these games in sequence because the story is worth it:) Have fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Death of adventure The puzzle design is so abysmal that - after some time - there appears even a skip button for mini games. However it seems not to be primarily an adventure, more a kind of visual novel where annoying puzzles just hinder the movement. It's all about the story, and the story is where all totally fails.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very satisfying end to the Gordon legacy, deviating from the Samuel method. If this was ever made into a film, it'd be epic.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →♰ Ezekiel 25:17 And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i highly recommend entire trilogy, it should be played as w whole, as it has a lot of references between parts, Games are grimm and gory, puzzles can be challenging, dialogues are well written. What is interesting you discover story from both father (black mirror I) and son (black mirror II and III) perspectives, with a strong references to family heritage. i dont know why i discovered this series so late.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, this directly continues on the second part's ending. Since that ending was bad, there wasn't too much the sequel could fix... And, unfortunately, it also started to fail in areas where BM2 was strong: here we have unclear tasks (often you make progress just by wandering aimlessly around the game world), useless items, half-baked storylines and, of course, crazy fiddly puzzles. At least 2 of these contain game-breaking bugs. Well, almost game-breaking: thankfully there are workarounds.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Black Mirror Series [1,2 & 3] is perhaps one of my top five go-to games to play and replay. I remember back to the days of the original text/graphic adventure games [late 80's] and at that time I couldn't imagine that we would come so far so quickly...but I digress. The first installment of BM might be a tad too 'old school" for younger players as the graphics are quite basic in comparison to today's highly fluid ones. This series is story/character driven so to fully grasp the context of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Black Mirror III is the last game of the franchise. While the story was pretty interesting and the ending was mostly satisfying, it took much more time to develop compared to Black Mirror II(probably the best of the franchise). The time you're trying to open the chamber and fight Mordred drags for so long you almost lose interest. The game still maintains the same improvements Black Mirror II offered in terms of visuals, gameplay, etc. I came across 2 bugs on puzzles, but the game allows you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A waste of money
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Black Mirror 3 >Graphics are not ground breaking but they get the job done. >Voice Acting is a lot better than the 2nd i feel the main character is a lot more likeable in this game. >Controls and interface are simple and easy to use >Story is wraped up nicely, alright it seems a bit rushed in places but all in all its a nice ending to the series. >There are still a few little bits that are mentioned regarding the story but not fully explained (common in this series) Overall i feel this game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pros ✅ gorgeous-looking background artwork ✅ haunting soundtrack perfectly fits game's atmosphere ✅ immersive dark and gothic atmosphere ✅ great story. It basically continues to explore and get deep into Gordon's family curse with protagonist Darren Michaels, aka Adrian Gordon ✅ there are two playable characters and interesting side characters ✅ decent voice acting ✅ fun to solve, well-integrated logic and inventory puzzles ✅ pressing the space bar or clicking an onscreen button highlights all…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rating 8/10 Overview: Point and Click Adventure Game The Good: + If you played the second game then this game would offer little surprise to you. In terms of design its almost identical to the second one for better or worse. The environments are beautiful, most of the puzzles are good and it's nice to see how the story plays out. The Average: You need to play the first and especially the second game to have any understanding of what is happening here. The game starts off almost…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is terrible. Filled with bugs. Items disappear. It is way too linear to progress especially when the main character moves like a sloth. DO NOT RECOMMEND
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably the best point & click horror trilogy there is.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game. Loved the whole trilogy. The puzzles are pretty difficult, did have to use a guide near the end.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredible sequel, great ending.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm at the end of the game and in general i really liked it, but there's not a lot of puzzles as much as in the other two. Maybe that's the only thing i didn't quite like.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nope. I just don't care about this series of games anymore. They're dragging it out and I've lost all patience I once had. Just nope.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It starts when second one ended, but it sudenly cut the thrilling part and became same boring as the beginning of second MB. Story is too slow and puzzles are not so original as before. Revealing of the final plot was so long and boring, that I almost didn't finished the game. The worst thing of all is the denouement of the story. It killed reason to play BM 2 and 3 totally. My rating: 3.7/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Brilliant game! A well established storyline, full of details, conversations, humor, sarcasm, and good taste! The characters talk (as in narrates in their voice), and it's not just subtitles, so you get the whole experience! We really enjoyed it, and we didn't find anything really like it! There's a lot of logic involved in almost everything you do. The things you search and where you find things, the actions you take, all have reasons, Everything is backed up by the complex plot. The game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Black Mirror III offers a satisfactory conclusion to a beloved series. In its predecessor’s aesthetic and literary spirit, it expands on characters and mysteries established in both previous titles. Though this expansion on lore could have been richer, most conclusions felt adequate, at times cathartic. Same as in Black Mirror I & II, atmospheres remains a core part of the experience. While the third instalment retains the graphical style of Black Mirror II, sceneries appear more polished and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Black Mirror games are really great point and click adventures. The first one is severely outdated, but the second and third ones are a lot easier to swallow. Honestly, you can skip the first one and play the second and third and be fine. Still. Is good game. Should play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you played the second one, you'll definitely want to grab this, too. Not as good (by a little bit), but still one of the best in the genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent game. I managed to finish all three parts eventually, but this part was a bit harder at some places. I hope more games like this will be produced by the game developers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed this end to the series. It brought back the horror aspect well, it drew on the first game and second, tied up some loose ends (and... caused a few more. Looking at you Ralph). The puzzles and story elements were fun, although I accidentally skipped some and had no idea what I was meant to be doing on others The photo filter one wasn't a puzzle so much as time consuming, the word underlining puzzle was broken and had to be skipped and the skeleton puzzle had to be very exact…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great point & click adventure. A must have for adventure games fans. Pick up objects and use through the inventory. Great graphics and sound. It autosaves between chapters only. Great story, various locations that you can go by using a map. Finish it on windows 10 in about 13 hours.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Verdict ✅ Recommended A solid finale that gives the trilogy a proper, satisfying send-off. Personal context 🏆 This is my 94th favorite game of all time. ⏱️ Around 22 hours on Steam (finished twice there). 🕰️ I also played it day one back in 2011, and overall I have completed it about 6 times. Who this is for 🎯 Play this if you like: classic point-and-click adventures, dark mystery, slow-burn horror atmosphere, and story-first games. 🚫 Skip if: you hate puzzle logic, get impatient when…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Black Mirror II and III basically constitute one game, and let me tell you that it's an amazing adventure well worth playing. It has almost everything to please: great atmosphere due to the amazing art, music and sound effects, great characters, great voice acting (with one notable exception). There's a lot of humor due to the main character's cynical remarks, but without making the whole thing goofy: in fact, there's a realistic feeling to it all rarely present in adventure games, and it's a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →tl;dr This is a good classic point-and-click adventure game. Graphics are overall good, but the animations are somewhat awkward and cinematics feel rushed. Sound and music is good too. Puzzles are on the easy side. The solutions to the puzzles are mostly logical. The hotspot system is pretty good so that you don't need to do any pixel hunting, unless you want to. You just press space bar and it shows the objects you can interact with. You can double-click to skip the walk animations. There…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Black Mirror Trilogy surely is one of the best point and click adventure series I have ever played. Featuring a dark, gloomy and very immersive atmosphere while traveling around Black Mirror castle and surroundings to uncover an ancient curse.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finally I have "finished" the third chapter. And I was able to "finish" it even before the end of the game due to a gamebreaking bug. Not the best ending that I have seen, but ... well quite extravagant ending. Now one by one. The game itself is a mediocre adventure, game pacing is very monotonous - too few puzzles and too many dialogues/monologues. Puzzles are more or less fine. The story is nice, but nothing more than that. Maybe there was stunning ending, but unfortunately I was not able to…
