They get understandably mad, and the tutorial mission is about the matriarch sneaking into the company's ship. Every mission is a different floor of the ship (logistics, accounting, marketing, etc) culminating with the CEO's office at the top. I'll get this out of the way now: this game is a linear puzzle with next to no replay value. It's also short! I beat it in 6.5 hours. I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some interesting ideas and genuinely funny bits are deeply marred by a terrible interface (is it single-right-click to move, or double? The answer, of course, is, "sometimes one, sometimes two!". Controller support is worse.) and static levels, which mean zero replay-ability. I wanted to like it, and hope the devs put out more games. But I can't recommend this one.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This looks really interesting, I enjoy turn based tactics games like this, but it just feels like too much of a chore to play. I enjoy the humor in it as you actually play the aliens against the humans and watch the humans do stupid things. The concept of being the aliens in an XCOM looking game is an interesting change instead of being the humans. There are certainly some good ideas but the game play just isn't very gripping, in fact, it feels tedious. There's two big things that really suck…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was enjoying this game, in spite of its kind of low budget, jank feel, until I got to the third level, which required having just one, helpless unit sneak around without getting caught. It was awful. Just annoying and not fun at all. After trying to power through for somewhere between 30 and 60 minutes, I decided enough was enough. Probably won't play the game any more.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a relatively short Xcom-style game played from the perspective of an insect-like alien species. The writing is funny, though often predictable, and the missions are just different enough to sustain the fun factor for the game's duration. The 7 missions will take most players 8-10 hours to complete. I felt no desire to continue playing the game after beating it, but since I paid $3 for this game, I think it was well worth what I spent.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its kind of sold on being a "Reverse X-Com" but the only part of the game that is like that is the moment to moment turn-based gameplay of each level. There is no base, or squads, or loadouts. You gain points to spend on upgrades between missions and there's a linear sequence of tactical puzzles for you to solve with jokes during and between. Thats it. The writing can be pretty funny, the visuals make it look a bit like a cheap Xbox 360 game and the campaign isn't very long. The UI is a bit…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's maybe not the indie take on XCOM-but-play-as-aliens you're hoping for, but what Attack of the Earthlings actually is, is still fun and enjoyable. Rather than random missions, the game consists of 7 missions in a linear campaign. There's no branching choices, and missions don't really have many different ways to approach them, so unless you're hunting achievements replayability is a bit low. Even so, the game has just enough ideas to sustain its playtime (took me about 8 hours to complete,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun XCOM-style game where you're leading a totally not Predalien through a corporation's extraterrestrial mining drill/facility that is in no way comparable to Weyland-Yutani, with gut-wrenching team-building in a very literal sense. My only complaint is that it's a bit short but from another perspective it's a solid, sleek package.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Attack of the Earthlings is simply reverse X-Com. You play the aliens against humans in tactical, turn based combat over a battle field grid. But this is a much simpler affair that X-Com. Almost all your attacks are melee. As this would be either too difficult or too simple there is also a stealth mechanic, where enemies have a cone-shaped field of vision that requires you to get flank attacks to avoid being shot when you it's your turn to attack. Yet this attempt to attack some complexity…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple enough to be boring. A little bit more streamlining of command entry and animations might've redeemed it, the game's just a tad clunky, i.e. taking way too many clicks to do things, hanging on animations here and there. The humor fell pretty dead on me and that's the only other thing going for it. The graphics/music production are netiher exceptional nor doing anything risque. Had this wishlisted for years because tactics = my thing, but this gameplay felt more like I was playing a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Laying it on thick with the language part way into game. So it's too late to just be quiet because of my own personal dislike of something lowbrow and unnecessary, and seek a refund instead. It's not necessary and takes away from the comedy rather than adding anything to it, and I can't play it around the younger members of my family or want to play it myself as the language ruined it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Charming and funny. Don't pay over £/$10 (ideally 5), as it's just a REALLY simple turn-based strategy game with some funny humour in it. I laughed quite a few times. It's not deep enough to play over and over again, but a good intro to the genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an entertaining turn-based tactics game, where you play the role of a xenomorph whose planet has been invaded by pesky humans. Killing and eating humans provides biomass that you use to create additional units. The somewhat ghastly premise is balanced by the rather silly villains and humorous scripted events. The game has seven maps, each of which provides a slightly different challenge. It's not a very long game (~9 hours for a careful playthrough that hit all the secondary…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As others have pointed out, this is Invisible Inc. played as the ‘bad guys’. I bought the game on sale, so I think I got a very good deal. It's otherwise too short and non-replayable for the price. Pros: - interestingly tactical, given the multiple unit types - on-the-nose sense of humor, sometimes it gets a chuckle out of you - an enjoyable and different experience Cons: - not really re-playable - research tree is linear, progression is a bit boring - UI and interactions can be *very*…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6/10 grab is on sale as it is short + decent story + solid turn based strategy game. the entire game is pretty much camping corners and backstabbing - cant unlock every upgrade at once - cant replay levels unless you made a save on that level - only 7 levels + tutorial
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Approved but ONLY on a steam sale. Xcom it is not. 7 missions and no procedural generation so mission restarts are identical. It's OK but thats it. It's not going to set the world alight.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Greetings as always! Today we will be looking at “Attack of the Earthlings” a turn based tactical game wrapped in the guise of humor and playing the aliens as the protagonists. This game should check off all the boxes of a great game…only not. Let’s Discuss! We didn’t start the fire: Let me start on the good things, the game is charming, no doubt. The graphics are passing but also convey a since of character. The audio and voice-overs are okay (though they do the Sims dialog style too…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →IF YOU LIKE X-COM STILE GAME YOU WILL LIKE THIS ONE TOO. I LOVED EVERY MINIUTE OF THIS. MY ONLY ISSUE IS I WANT MORE . MORE LEVEL, MORE UNITS, MORE EVERYTHING.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had mixed feelings about this game because I was focused on what it doesn't do. That is, it doesn't have much replayability due to a linear design and there is no randomization. But it isn't fair to blame the game for not being something else. Attack of the Earthlings is a short, fun, and funny romp. A big part of the enjoyment is tongue-in-cheek humor making fun of capitalism and corporations. The earthlings are so focused on the bottom line of their mining operation, the executives shift…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was super fun! I really enjoyed the change of who's side we are on. Playing as the aliens was a real good experience and I would 100% pick up a sequel to this game if it ever came out. It is a bit of a shorter game so be wary of that, but overall, great mechanics, fun game play, and a funny story. I really enjoyed this game and I think you will too!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to like this game, I really do -- The concept is novel, and I enjoy turn-based games like this -- but I just can't get into it. The mouse controls for performing actions are inconsistent, and not clearly explained. That I could tolerate if the story was good enough, but since the story is weak, it starts to grate. It starts to grate a lot. Like, a LOT a lot. The humour that isn't toilet related could be summed up as "Durr, humans are stupid TOTALLY ALL THE TIME! Tee-hee-hee! Oh yeah,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a bit charming, but the humour is mediocre, the gameplay is somewhat stale, and there is no difficulty. I could have completed the game in a couple of hours less, but self imposed a rule of not losing a single unit, which meant I had to restart a couple of missions. It's passable fun, and if 9-12 hours of mild entertainment is worth the price tag to you, then go for it. However I cannot truly recommend it on a general basis.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short but Enjoyable Stealth-Tactics Game The game is more of a puzzle game than a tactical game, because of turn limitations (related to bonus score and achievements) that often force you to finish missions in a certain way. But of course you can ignore those achievements and play game as a regular tactical stealth game. The game has some tactical depth as you can upgrade your Grunts to three different types of units, each with various skills and upgrades, although the stalker is the most…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The short: Very fun and very funny, but not very long. The long: This game is quite interesting. I have always liked playing games from the 'bad guys' perspective, or rather the 'non-human' perspective, for in this game. Because you technically aren't the bad guys. Yes, you do go around killing humans, some of which are kinda innocent, but they came to your planet to mine every resource and kill everything they can get their hands on to begin with. The humans in this are comically evil, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great concept held back by bad pacing, controls and UI.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cute game but you are overly reliant on melee attacks and only one of your 6 units has a ranged attack though its the same range as the enemies. yes, you need to attack outside the enemies red cone (line of sight) but even then any attack results in a counter (you don't counter though) and all but 2 of your units will die in 1 hit. the main strategy is to distract guards as you try to sneak up on them and using group attack. the lack of strategy make gameplay a bit stale. LEVELS are ok though…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Spectacular tactical game. + Very unique and brilliant concept for a storyline. + Great humor. + Very engaging gameplay, it's a turn based tactical game and you can use multiple strategies to proceed through situations. + Stealth is well developed. + Experimentation with upgrades. + Good wacky soundtrack. - Controls are uncomfortable. Character select, action confirm and movement should be set for one button, but they are set for multiple buttons, there's no way to modify it to one button. -…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a fun linear game, but only has a few levels. It takes about 8-12 hours to complete. I would love to see more missions, alternate scenarios, etc. I am glad I got it on sale, but even then I think it is a little pricey for the amount of content.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Attack of the Earthlings is a nice and funny turn-based strategy game, like the X-com series, but where you play the aliens. I enjoyed the cartoonesque design which goes along very well with the humor of the game. Overall the game isn't very difficult and I would recommend spicing it up a little with your own rules like "zero death" or "finishing the levels before the par turn" (which whill also grant you more points at the end of each level to improve your units) or by aiming at unlocking the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked this game. Entertaining. I even went back and did some achievement hunting. Not a great game but I would buy and play a part 2 if they made it. Worth the buy for sure if it is on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →do you ever want to play as the bad guy? well in this turn based comedic game you can. its a blast to play through.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, bit short but it doesnt outstay its welcome, highly recommend picking up when on sale. Humours not overly bad either.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: ++Pretty fun "reverse XCOM" where you stealthily murder everybody with your various alien units +Dark humor mostly works Cons: -Graphics aren't the best, especially the animations are rough at times -Controls could be better, a lot of time is spent waiting for your units to move around -Stealth mission in the middle can absolutely go ♥♥♥♥ itself 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Long story short, this is good dumb fun. Both narratively and mechanically this game is one-note. But it consistently hits that note, and rarely outstays it welcome. I've seen alot of comments comparing it to X-Com, but I'd say that it gives the wrong expectations. This feels more like a puzzle game dressed in a tactical paint job. There is a handful of set stages that you'll need to stealth your way, spawning the correct alien for each job, killing the humans in the correct manner. While you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good little game. Simple and short turn based tactic. It did not overstay its welcome. Humor was on point - the amount of cheesiness was just right. The camera control handled perfectly. Too many of these types of games is ruined by a constant fight against the camera. Its nice to see a small game that does it right. One thing I wish was possible, was to be able to speed up the animation on the enemy's turn. But maybe they didn't add it in deliberatly, especially since during the end game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Didn't even make it through the entire first level before I was bored unfortunately. Mechanics and UI feel really outdated and actions were tedious to complete. The gameplay is quite basic tactics wise and the levels felt large and empty. The gameplay simply feels too old and clunky sadly.

unlabelledView post →Meh... After a couple of hours I felt like I've seen the game. I am a huge fan of any XCOM and most stealth tactics games, but this one didn't do anything for me. Maybe as a mobile game in a waiting room - it's simple enough for that.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had fun with this, but the movement math is screwed up and once I realized that it was tough to keep playing
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short campaign (7 hours for me) but a lot of fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like it for the most part but its feels like a chore to play
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I actually gave up on this one about 2/3rds of the way through the game, but I'm giving it a thumbs up because I feel like I got my money's worth out of it. The concept is pretty good, the humour works pretty well, just bits of the execution got too annoying to persevere with, though I might come back to it in the future. There are a bunch of little annoyances, like no ability to skip to and cycle through your troops, having your screen controls locked during the computer's turn and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was an absolute masterpiece It's combat was amazing and it's comedy was hilarious with so much content and SO many details around the maps of the missions with upgrades and funny characters and cool characters and more! I 101% recommend this game to those who like turn based comedy action alien-controlling mayhem!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →XCOM clone but with a god awful UI and scaling. I could understand if this was priced at £3-4 but it plays to me like it's a one-man dev team.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good xcom like game, short and has a few flaws but worth playing. Would recommend to get on discount. Pro- Fun writing - Light hearted and humorous writing Impactful upgrades - Change how you approach the levels Interesting mechanics - start with 1 unit and grow your forces with each kill Cons- Short - only few levels Controls - found a few times I would click a few times to get anything to happen. End turn waiting - some levels you will have to wait each end turn for 1-2 minutes which adds…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun X-com style game, except you're the aliens! It has a set linear campaign, and while the humor starts to stretch thin at the very end it's overall a quite enjoyable experience. It'll take around 8-10 hours. Long enough to satisfy you without being so long it overstays its welcome.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had a lot of fun with this simple but well-designed turn-based stealth game. The level design is solid, the basic premise is well executed and it's got some - admittadly rather low brow - humour that had me chuckling. Good writing, great - if limited - voice acting, and a solid - if also kind of limited - soundtrack. A real under-the-radar gem if you ask me!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an okay game. Wait for a sale to make this game worthwhile. Runs hot on a potato pc.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short but entertaining snack. I recommend getting this on a Steam Sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mildly entertaining Very short (i'm 4 hours in with 5 of 7 missions complete) No replayability. Not value for money i'm afraid - even on sale i wish i hadn't bothered.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In Attack Of The Earthlings you embrace the opportunity of playing the oppressed alien natives simply protecting your home planet from the ruthlessly ignorant human invaders, as you claw, stab, pulp, and pulverise your way up the corporate ladder of the Galactoil company and put a halt to their invasion. Integral to this game is it's sense of humour, akin to Borderlands and Portal in the video game world, and Office Space and Mars Attacks in the film world, with Galactoil (the corporate…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BLUF: This is a very short game. It took me a six hours to beat the campaign and I didn't rush. I paid $10 so I feel I received a fair value for the amount I paid. You play an alien Matriarch which spawns additional aliens as you consume human corpses which you use to make more human corpses... It is hard not to like the concept. The combat is turn-based on square tiles. The research system is very limited (13 advancements which are applied between levels). I found the homour bland but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Funny. Good gameplay. Short (~8 hours)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This indie game came on my radar a while back when I utilised Steam’s Discovery Queue. Basically, it is turn based tactical battles (think X-Com minus the % to hit), but it isn’t on procedurally generated maps, instead there are set levels to get through. As you may have surmised from the title… the game focuses on the Aliens instead of the humans. You are the Matriarch of an alien species. I’ll be honest, they’re totally inspired by the Alien movies, but that’s okay, they give their own spin…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →simple control, fun to play, not too hard to 100%
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tentative recommendation, if you enjoy turn based strategy similar to X-Com and dont mind a short game without alot of depth but quite a bit of kooky humour and fun then you will probably enjoy this. Still I'd suggest waiting til it was on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cheaper and more fun than blue paint in Fallout 76.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Attack of the Earthlings is your standard, unserious "strategy" game of the late 2010s, where skill trees were as tall and complex as a branch, no enemy logic other than to either attack the nearest target or the last target that damaged it, and arbitrary gameplay mechanics like the grunts having little area of vision without the matriarch alien. It isn't so much strategy as it is simply a game of reloading saves when a cutscene plays at an inappropriate time or when a misclick occurs due to…
