Is this game a masterpiece? The original Andro Dunos from 1992 is one of the best shoot 'em ups ever made for the NEO GEO. It is a great game, even if you compare it to great shmups from other systems of the time. And now Andro Dunos 2 has been released - and it looks and plays like a successor made 6 months after the original game. Like…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Retro style horizontal shoot 'em up which is a sequel released 30 years after the 1992 Neo-Geo original. Doesn't matter it's a sequel since there's no story whatsoever. Seems the minimum was done for the PC port. You even have to press Enter to go full screen each time you start. Nice and colorful pixel art faithful to the style of the 90s. Good soundtrack where I wish there were sound settings to put it louder compared to the sound effects. Controls a bit stiffly because it seems made for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →OVERVIEW: Memories of growing up as a teenager for me can't be detached from the Arcade cabinets sessions. Andro Dunos and their original publisher, Visco Corporation, bring back flashbacks from some of the best afternoons and early evenings back then. Just For Games, PixelHeart iteration of that title is an honorable follow up to its legacy Pros -» Gameplay: Dealing with ground, sea and air enemies requires swapping weapons through each stage. Something very enjoyable -» Soundtrack and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An excellet sequel to the classic Shoot-em-up Andro Dunos. Great artwork, Challenging gameplay, Leveling up system and tons of enemies to blow up!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In my opinion, this is a huge step up from Infinos Gaiden. Super fun weapon systems and good/fair stage design with plenty of "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-warnings".
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A little crazy that this amazing game hasn't gotten more fanfare. Great presentation, superior ost, remarkable pacing- each level is short and sweet and the game overall never overstays its welcome. Controls are tight and feel 'right', boss battles are appropriately epic, the difficulty curve progresses as it should starting off simple and gradually getting more and more difficult. Then it has those little 'details' that every great shmup (or every great game for that matter) has. This game is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10/10 - One of the best Shoot 'Em Up's I own. With the best music in a Shoot 'Em Up I have ever heard! The graphics are surprisingly good too! Only annoying mechanic is sometimes ships come from behind you with little to no warning. I think this is just a "get good" and memorize the levels problem though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Andro Dunos 2 is the epitome of a retro styled shooter done right. Graphics are vibrant, varied and full of character. The gameplay has the right amount of complexity without being obtuse, having multiple weapons you can switch between as well as levelling them up at the end of a stage is a nice touch. The sound is synth rock heaven, it fits the game perfectly. My only minor nitpicks are screen tearing which can be sorted by setting vsync to fast in the nvidia settings and i would prefer the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best horizontal shmup games on Steam. Picorinne Soft nailed everything here, it's beautiful and plays great with multiple difficulty options, tightly designed bosses and stages and a pretty unique arsenal of weapons / powerups to play with, lots of unlockable extras too adding to the replay value. It feels like a true sequel to the original NeoGeo Andro Dunos despite being released in 2022. There's just one thing that I wish they had implemented here: local 2 players option.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →beri good pew pew game. lots of BFB and cool powerups
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →On a semi-related subject, I did not enjoy Senjin Aleste. It's not a bad game, but it'd a DDP clone and not an Aleste game. -And on a tangent/dgmw, I feel Andro Dunos II is more of a sequel to Infinos Gaiden but with the Andro Dunos name. (And I totally dig all three).

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do you like a shmup where your death comes completely out of nowhere? Do you like a shmup with untelegraphed attacks and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ patterns? Do you like a shmup that constantly kill you over and over for the sake of being ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? Do you like a shmup with unfair enemy placement? Then you're going to love Andro Dunos 2, one of the most unfair, most ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and one of the worst shmups I've ever played this year. No wonder the original game was forgotten, because no one wants to play such an…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is a trend these days. A lot of youtubers will pick mediocre shmups from their steam library and cream their pants for 15 - 20 mins on how its the second coming of the lord or something. Well I being a skeptic and someone with taste have learned to keep away from reviews and make my own mind if I like any particular game or not. Let me tell you peeps this is indeed a great game from start to finish. Thoroughly engaging and awe inspiring at times. It certainly has its moments however the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easily in the top 10 best shmups of all time, it really is that simple. Fantastic difficulty curve with overall difficulty settings to suit anyone from seasoned players to noobs. Fantastic weapon upgrades. FANTASTIC music, just epic. Fantastic stage design with fantastic "spot on" overall length. Something you want to play over and over again even when you know it well, as it's so addictive to want to improve on your previous performance. It's really just fantastic and I can NOT fault…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Positives + A short, competent and faithful arcade side scrolling shoot 'em up that's not ridiculously hard, but still challenging. + You can select any stage you have unlocked and continue playing from there with full lives, revives and upgrades, even if you lost. This ensures most players will beat the main game. + Three difficulty options and you can add up to 9 coins (revives) The Negatives - Two bonus stages with additional content that most players would want to try are locked behind…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember playing the original Andro Dunos on a Neo-Geo arcade cabinet many moons ago so I was surprised to find this gem show up on the Steam store. If you liked the original game, or if you are a fan of 1990's horizontal shmups save yourself the time reading and just buy this. It's worth the price of entry, does exactly what it needs to and has a memorable soundtrack to enhance the experience. This game is hella fun and it deserves to be played. For those unsure I offer this advice - go…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great old school side scrolling Shoot em Up Fun. This is how I like those games. Well done. Congratulations. Recommendation for oldies and fans.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gameplay is fine but stuttering and screen tearing is absolutely insane. I don't think they'll fix this. Unenjoyable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No save file. It doesn't save your high score, settings, level select or anything, so every time you turn it on it's like you never bought it. MAJOR reason for thumbs down. Also coop would be nice but seems like they did the cheap/easy/lazy way out. Try Caladrius Blaze or DeathSmiles if you want Schmup with lots to do and not boring space shooter
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fair, motivating and simply a must-have if you are a fan of Shmups. The OST is also pretty solid with some hidden gems like "Battleship" (This one is a Banger!).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best $1 shmup you'll ever play. Just wait when it goes on sale tho.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →9/10 What a delightful suprise. I got this game thinking I'd just play through it as fast as poss and enjoy my time and move on but i stuck around. I tried beating the whole game with the 9 continues the game gives you and got to level 7 but then died. Then I came back a few months later thinking I didn't want to get decent at the game just to be able to beat it but i came back anyway and that's when I discovered the mission select. I thought of starting from the last mission and beating the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →aight, its fine i suppose. pixelated environments are nice but the environmental collisions are the same color so ur first couple of runs, you are likely to crash, smash, and burn. what sound effects there are are nice. but there is no enemy projectile audio feedback for anything. Music is kicking with its 90s chiptune. No cards or achievements or modern things to chase after. Some bosses give mixed signals (animations) on whether they are dead/damaged or not. There's a boss cannon that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shooting Game Builder on Steam is discounted so I got it. Not going to start yet ANOTHER project. I have two incomplete ones already. I'm just piqued since some really excellent games were made from it like Graze Counter, Infinos Gaiden, Andro Dunos II, and Grand Cross: Renovation.
unlabelledView post →A fantastic shoot 'em up and an unbelievable soundtrack from the one and only Allister Brimble. Worth it for that alone! Definitely get those Amiga vibes shining through. It's a shame no achievements or online leader boards, otherwise a great shooter!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Utterly fantastic SHMUP that deserves to be up there with the classics. The weapons you can swap between feel unique and are better for certain situations, the timed power-up Hyper Shot adds mechanical depth besides just holding down the fire button, and being able to level up the weapons you like the most is super helpful. This is one of those games that's hard, but it makes you feel like you want to get good at it. Excellent graphics, music, and a very healthy difficulty curve makes this a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is awesome. I like the system and the graphics so much.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely Awesome side scrolling Shoot Em Up & incredible sequel. Very enjoyable game play, 7 well designed stages + 3 bonus stages to unlock with beautiful pixel art work. Great controls & Amazing music. Lots of weapons and a shop for upgrades & also different super weapons. Cool big Bosses and loads of variety of menacing enemies. If you are a big fan of retro style shoot em ups I highly recommend BUY this game. Well worth the asking price, Love this game, Excellent work both thumbs UP!!! :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun 7 level shmup with all the 90's hallmarks of the genre. 3 bonus modes / levels can be unlocked too, including the fantastic boss rush mode. Multiple weapons to master, all of which can be switched out on the fly, each providing pro's and con's in different situation. Wonderfully bright and clean sprite work sits on top of a beautiful soundtrack. There are a few issues I have with the game which could quite easily be ironed out: Screen tearing No option to alter (decrease or increase)…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are a fan of 2D shoot'em ups then you will like this one. It's like stepping back in time to the early 90s and playing old retro shooters of then. Big boss battles, lots of different weapons to use, challenging gameplay, good music. If you want to remember and enjoy a classic shooter then give this one a purchase. A more detailed review can be seen here. https://youtu.be/U2hpxRN5U48
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1. Andro Dunos II I really like how this game does its setpieces, it's a clean fun 'cool' shmup where the relationship between spectacle and enemy waves is very balanced. Would love to try this on Dreamcast someday.
unlabelledView post →Fantastic Shmup, I've purchased this game multiple times now, from the 3ds to Switch, now PC. Its a super solid shmup, I pick up and play a couple rounds almost any time I want a quick dopamine rush. I know its based on the old Neo Geo game, but honestly I feel like this game plays more like a suped-up Turbografx shmup. Highly recommended, no gimmicky mechanics to mar the experience, this just feels like a 90s sequel we never got until now. Pairs well with Earthion for maximum shmupness.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Initially I enjoyed it but now I have mixed feelings Andro Dunos 2 is a great game, it's quite fun if you take it for what it is, but it still has major flaws of 90s shmups. Like R-Type, another horizontal shmup, Andro Dunos 2 requires memorization, though not nearly as much. Some bosses do not have great tells, but that's fine. My issue with Andro Dunos is when I momentarily stopped playing it and went back to vertical shmups. I went from no-hitting stages 1-3 of Blue Revolver on normal to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game itself is great, but I'm just a bit confused why PC gamers don't get the same scan lines and stretched screen options consoles gamers get. It even isn't clear how to set the game to full screen (press ENTER). I love the game, but the UI is really lacking...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Something about this STG really hits the mark for me... simple, straightforward gameplay, yet the multiple weapons and upgrades keep things interesting. Love the graphics. One of my favourite new shmups. Mainly been playing on Steamdeck, working perfectly.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Andro Dunos 2 rocks, a little bit too easy on default difficulty, but its a must buy for all shmups fans.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beat the game in the time shown above. Too short. Not enough content. No replay value.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's always bugged me that they show the Red ship on the box but when you play the game only the yellow ship is available. That being said this game is solidly put together. Cool ship, decent difficulty, and some of the best music in a modern shmup. There are some einhander, and thunder force easter eggs that I noticed. If you like those games you'll like this. I only wish this game had 2 player coop like the first game did. I also wish they would add achievements. Maybe some day.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice oldschool shmup, not too easy even on lowest difficulty. Wish it had achievements. Got it on sale for -90% so no complains from my side.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the perfect sequel to a 1992 Neo Geo game that we didn't know we needed. This is the kind of old school hori-shmup that does everything right design wise. The level design is impeccable and varied, the difficulty curve is smooth as butter, and the boss fights are all very fun. Unlike the first game, the difficulty is very fair, and with 3 difficulty levels and loads of credits, there are challenges for every kind of player. The cherry on top of the cake is an Allister Brimble…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good, on the easy side. Limited in that it's basically an arcade rom, so no-modern progression, or competition. Hardest difficulty not so hard, but getting a 1cc will take skill and patience. Game gives you a lot of weapon variety, which is just fun. Grade: B
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gameplay is fine but stuttering and screen tearing is absolutely insane. I don't think they'll fix this. Unenjoyable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Andro Dunos II is a return to my favorite era of shooters. The graphics, the sound and the simpler game play are all things I enjoy with this horizontal shmup. Andro Dunous II is on the easier side of old school style shooters. Much of the challenge comes from knowing which weapon to equip at the right time. Be it a machine gun general use type weapon, a spread shot with vertical lasers for area control, a laser for more purposeful shooting and a rear firing machine gun for covering your…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun sequel to a classic Neo Geo MVS game. I suck at shooters like this and limited credits suck, but I have fun playing it every now and then.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The continuation of the famous Andro Dunos 1 from 1992, right on time for the 30 year old anniversary party! It's a superb shmup, since the controlls are tight and the visuals are jaw-dropping. You can select how many credits you want to start with (up to 9) and it provides your usual 3 difficulty levels, which is a good thing because even beginners can enjoy the game this way. If you run out of your credits, you can still select the stage that you unlocked in the menu. It's a shmup for both…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun side scrolling stg. Good challenge with pleasing sprite based graphics. Interesting weapon system with 4 different shot types and 7 power levels to each one. Additionally the player can pick up missiles that can upgrade 4 times, and 2 options as well. It all comes together to make a satisfying hori shooter. Definitely recommend!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game feels like a forgotten relic that’s just been dug out. It has everything we old gamers love in a classic shmup: killer soundtrack, several weapons that can be upgraded, bosses you can maim by taking out individual parts, lots of stages, insane difficulty and most importantly, amazing and flashy gameplay. I like the unique mechanic. You have something called hypershot that can be used freely, the only setback is that it needs a few seconds to recharge and your selected weapon…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →awesome shmup! but it lacks 2 player mode unfortunately
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really good and authentic retro sequel of the first game. It did came 30 years later, but it feels like they're just 1 year apart!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Already played it a ton on Switch, and it's one of the better horizontal shmups in my opinion. Hopefully I can get the 1CC someday.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very solid shoot em up. The graphics are nice and the gameplay is great - the weapon system is designed in a very clever way and quite original. The difficulty is exactly how I like it: it's challenging but not crazy difficult, and if you learn the projectile patterns enough and you focus you can go quite a while without getting hit. The sound department is fine although some of the music is a tad generic, but maybe I'm being harsh because this kind of game often has a stellar soundtrack so…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gameplay wise this game is amazing and much better than a few other shoot 'em ups I've tried recently. So in that regard it's a definitive recommendation. BUT! I think the regular price of 15 Euro is a bit on the expensive side. I got it on sale at -90% which is a no brainer. ALSO NO STEAM CLOUD SAVES! Backup your saves manually. Yesterday I lost all progress after the game failed to launch on Steam Deck for whatever reason. At -90% off I can live with needing to set up my own periodic backup…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun 40 minute'ish shoot'em up game that's beautiful, controls fairly well, and has great boss battles.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very cool shmup and I love getting modern sequel to oldschool games, so that's a major plus. I never was the biggest Andro Dunos fan, but it was ok. In this new iteration the controls are tight. It's fun, not hard at all, so a very good entry shmup for enjoyers that might not be too used to a genre that is almost unplayable for newcomers.. Graphics and music are fantastic if you like your retro-games, but it's a very barebones experience, no achievements for a modern game (even if pixelart).…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Andro Dunos 2 is a side-scrolling shoot ’em up developed by Picorinne Soft and published by Maximum Entertainment and PixelHeart, arriving decades after the original Andro Dunos that first appeared in arcades and on the Neo-Geo in the early 1990s. Rather than reinventing the genre, the sequel embraces the philosophy of classic arcade shooters, delivering a traditional horizontal shmup experience built around tight level design, weapon management, and the familiar cycle of learning enemy…
