The music, the backgrounds as well as a lot of the animations are stunning, but its ultimately a boring experience finished by whoever they scrambled together to complete it. The writing is bad, the game is extremely repetitive and some of the UX options are questionable. But not building a perfect game obviously isn't close to the worst offense, the way that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Aeon Must Die! was stolen from the original developers and Limestone and Focus have not paid their dues. Until justice is done, this game will not be worth the space it occupies on digital platforms. The original developers have gone to Mishura Games and are now making IMMORTAL: And The Death That Follows. Check that out instead; a game of their own work that they own. What Aeon Must Die! should have been.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. I needed to put in a little bit of time to write a review so I decided to test the game to see if it was any good. The game, by itself is.... meh.... It differentiates itself from other brawlers nicely but doesn't have enough at the start to hold my attention. Combat kind of feels a tad clunky and buttons sometimes don't want to come out, but that may be a "me" problem. Overall this feels a tad bland. "But what about the art-style? That's not bland, is it?" Well, we'll…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Refunded also its not right to take someone else's work and use it as your own for a quick buck. just google this game and the controversy to see how the original devs got screwed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't let the trailer fool you. This game is trash, save your money and your soul. Go check out IMMORTAL: And The Death That Follows instead. Way better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Did you know that you can learn a lot about this game's development by removing spaces in "t. ly /ri eD"?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The visual style is amazing. The gameplay ideas are fantastic. The story is inadequate and the game gets very repetitive, with a lack of creative enemies with different fighting styles. Also they didn't fairly compensate their artists, which as an artist, is a big no-no for me. Go put Immortal: And the Death that Follows on your wishlist instead, made by the artists who weren't compensated well.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The price and gameplay are great. What ruins an otherwise enjoyable game is that you fight for a minute or two, get forced to read/skip through a mass of text, then repeat. When playing a beat em up you just want to punch stuff in the face, not be CONSTANTLY interrupted with walls of text to read after every (short) fight. The amount of story text you get right at the start is enough, there shouldn't have been a ton more. What compounds this issue is that you get dialog choices (which are…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Leave all the politics aside. This game in a nutshell somebody made a mess, then some other folks went and completed the mess. The game is structurally flawed. Moments in the game the enemy AI hits you faster than you could react, audio clues are all over your the place. The amazing cut scenes i saw in a showcase event are not in the game. It is not bad ... i would suggest save your money buy something else you wanted. The game got 4 enemy type and 4 boss fights that's it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game has an amazing potential, which unfortunately will never be realized as the original devs were treated very unfairly and they went away. Don't expect it to get better in any shape or form. THe visuals and the whole vibe of 80s cartoons is amazing (especially for someone like me who grew up in the 80s). The whole concept behind the game is awesome. Most of the presentation stuff is great. The problem is the gameplay - it's either punishingly hard (if you want to remain Starspawn and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looks dope. Combat executed poorly. A 2d fighting game without being a 2d fighting game. Not a beat'em up. Not very fun, but is very very easy. Do a fight, beat a dude, hop on your bike, do a fight, beat a dude, hop on your bike....
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was very excited to play this game. I normally don't buy based on trailers but the art style got me and I think I'm in a great position to write with just over 5 hours in one sitting playing this game. The price is something you can't complain about either. Aeon Must Die was not what I was expecting. I knew it was going to look great and I figured it was going to be like Streets of Rage. I got something a bit more tactical which makes the pacing slower but that's not a bad thing at all for…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →one hour in, this isn't your everyday indie game. This game has so much detail, the combos and game style is unique. i'm sure you haven't played anything like this before.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is literally the BEST game ever, straight boss fights, powerful combat, great music, etc the only downside is it's somehow not fun
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →visual - pretty and nice story - dualism stuff is ok but all the rest is boredom combat - can be a little hard to get into some mechanics but still is a flat experience gameplay - very repetitive and for me somehow tedious and it's personal but also found it not responsive in the way i like it SKIP (or look for a cheap key or deep deep sale if you got money and time to waste like me)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game! Give devs my money!!!!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →AEON MUST DIE! A Very Unique Game With Lots of Mechanics With Lots Of Problems Art Style/Story Pros: The Story is very straight forward and has some good voice acting from some of its characters (specifically Aeon himself) Cons: Aeon's host (aka you) has no character at all there are alot of fake choice moments that don't effect any outcomes nor the gameplay itself. Personally I would have perfered just playing as Aeon instead of this faceless character. Gameplay: Pros: Really fun and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Aeon Must Die! is a title that mixes a gorgeous visual style with high-octane gameplay that rewards risk, but also punishes it at any instant. The narrative is rather basic compared to that of other indie titles, yet the completely adequate story beats and characters accompany the game's main mechanics nicely. Would definitely recommend this particular title to anyone looking for a challenging beat-em-up that rewards them for careful planning and strategy, but also provides a satisfactory…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game, the artstyle is just superb And the music just makes the gameplay more hyped extremely recommended
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Aeon must die!" must die! Garbage. Never buy it. Very peculiar game with annoying and repetitive gameplay. 2D fighting, where fights are boring and strange. Those heating and chilling mechanics work awfully; you can die from one accidental hit that you can't predict. Pacing is disgusting. If you die, you have to press a button to skip dialogues, cut scenes and menus many times to die again from one random hit after that, even if you killed 5 enemies without any incoming damage. One hit!…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Aeon Must Die devs (who got their game stolen by the publisher) are now working on whatever awesome crap this is. Colour me intrigued. #Blutoid mishuragames.itch.io/immortal-and...
unlabelledView post →tried the game regardless of what people said it's just boring. It really lacks punch and flow in combat. I don't understand the enemies one shot moves like knocking me off the bike or straight just killing me. I think those are scirpted but I can't tell and I won't be replaying those parts to see. I just about fell asleep while playing the game and going to be refunding it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Now Before I start would like to say I don't play many fighting games so for me this is game is out of my comfort zone, but I must I say I love it.... Fighting is just makes me feel like a badass plain and simple most other fighting games I've played never really made me feel like I was good because I couldn’t do their 900-button combo, but this is super simple and so much fun... And there is skill involved you need to know when to parry or when to doge and then you also need to pay…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Combat mechanics are nice and challenging, it's like balancing a ping-pong ball on a float board. Sounds easy but hard to master. The art style is amazing. Witty dialogues with a tinge of humor and the story progression on point. Kudos team Limestone.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Plays on steam deck needs some work.... So far fun beat em up rough but fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Immortal and the death that follows looks better than this crap they aren’t even the real developers i regret buying this crap
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've resisted 15 min to go through the dialogues. I lost my patience and uninstalled.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game looks sick. I've been anticipating it ever since the whole situation with Aeon Must Die. Its wild to me that people wouldn't have faith in a game this good looking
unlabelledView post →This game delivers high-octane combat and visually striking art in a futuristic setting. Its fluid action mechanics and dynamic visuals create an exhilarating experience, while the engaging story adds depth. Perfect for fans of intense action and stylish gameplay looking for a thrilling adventure.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Won’t go past the initial main screen on the steam deck. Hopefully this eventually gets updated to work. As of right now I can’t recommend it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →all i have to say is this game is awesome. and damn i hope once day we get a sequel or aeon must die II
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hate to quit an uncompleted game, but it's been two years and i just can't get back to it. Trailers show how much a spectacle it is, but doing it is really unpleasant to say the least. And if the start of the story is motivating, we very quickly end up not caring at all. It's frustrating but style can't carry a game by itself, only gameplay can, and it definitely got butchered here. I surrend to it and put it in my ashamed list.

Fortunately they decided to make this game. Similar looking protagonist, different kind of beast. store.steampowered.com/app/1781190/...

Set in a dystopian sci-fi universe steeped in betrayal, vengeance, and the collapse of empires, it tells the story of a warrior forced to share his body with a fallen god. You play as a host merged with the spirit of Aeon, an exiled emperor whose quest for revenge drags…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is an amazing fighting game that is not too challanging and has super smooth controlls and you really should try it if you like a game that lets you be a complete badass, its amazing
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ugh... Polemics aside, this combat feels as weightless as it gets.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stolen work of art.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Expectations from the metroidvania tag led to a purchase built around hopes for exploration, discovery, and freedom of movement. Reality delivered a very different experience. Most of the experience consists of conversations followed by combat encounters, with very little variety outside that loop. Exploration, a core feature many players associate with the genre, is largely absent. Level design offers almost no opportunity to wander, search for hidden paths, or uncover secrets. Progression…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →when i saw Aeon in preview images, i already liked him and just wanted the game so bad, i read the reviews before and had an idea about the game (developers and publisher) which made me hesitate a lot even when on sale, but if what was said is true and i wanted this game specifically, then there was no other way to get this (when want to link to steam account) if want this. the visuals and art felt like a comic, also very futuristic and alien, the colours as well as the designs of most…

unlabelledView post →Text dismissal endurance program... with some decent battles in between. Good enough on sale as it is an attractive twist on brawling. And yes, eyes on Immortal: And the Death That Follows for more
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yeah, it's looks super cool and stunning, but...... It's impossible to play this game on keyboard......Let's try old MK on keyboard and you can do your game better if you will change the input buttons. So i am not played a lot, but mostly it's looks repetitive - you have a dozen different moves, but i mostly beat all enemies with same best moves. Good try! I think next game will be better!
