(TL;DR - It's a good game from a talented, community focused dev, who's actively updating the game ........ Just buy it. You'll very likely be glad you did). I got this game in a bundle about 3 months ago. I had a mess about with the God awful entry level weapons, ran into an area with zero caution, got swamped with bad guys, managed to drop my primary weapon while running away, died, gave up on the game, and went back to replaying "Into The Radius" again with yet more mods. This would be a…

Don't get me wrong I love stalker and Into the Radius, but you can't use use the stalker universe and add what ever you want to it. It just mashes them into one and doesn't do it good enough. Everything feels low quality and AI was used for the voice lines and the tutorial. The guns don't seem very powerful, the ammo is expensive, meds are also expensive and you'd have to sleep for like four days straight if you ran out of money and needed to heal. The special enemies are either stupid and just…

If you played Into the Radius, you'd know what you're getting here. If you played Stalker, you'd know what you're getting here. I mean that in the best way, It's VR stalker. The most important thing is I felt compelled to write a review for this because the dev has been updating this game very consistently, has been good with communication, it's already a pretty solid product in my opinion, which are huge green flags for otherwise risky investments in Early Access games. For starters I have…

almost got stuck forever in the first mission because i didnt see the yellow wheel thingy that opens the door, they really ought to highlight it the first time or something, (EDIT: you rock Igor, the sole dev of this game saw my comment and added a highlight for the first door wheel, thumbs up all the way, keep on making this an awesome game!) otherwise great game, there's a linear story path with areas that persist and loot that can only be grabbed once, and "raids" that respawn both…

[Game Played With Quest 3 using Link Cable/Virtual Desktop] This game's going to attract 2 kinds of VR players. Either you've played Stalker and want it in VR, or you haven't and are just desperate for any sort of VR story game that lasts more than 5 hours. Personally, I haven't played Stalker and at best watched my roommate play Shadow Of Chernobyl. I'm vaguely aware of the story beats but you aren't getting a review from an honest Stalker Fan if you wanted a 1 to 1 comparison. ZONA asks the…

I have completed Z.O.N.A Project X and I actually enjoyed the game and the story. This lead me to immediately jump into Z.O.N.A Origin and so far, I've been very impressed. I have eight hours of gameplay since starting it LAST NIGHT, and this is how it went (On Stalker Difficulty, just as I did in Project X) I immediately got my first guns, went to the abandoned village to loot. Got loot, sold it, bought a Gas Mask, went to the Military Town to loot. I did this specifically for getting…

Updated review at the bottom of text. Original Review Below (from 23rd of May, 2025): It took me a couple of attempts to dig into the game, but now I can say that the game has a clear vision, understands what it's going for, and achieves that vision. ZONA Origin takes a lot of inspiration from the STALKER and METRO games, as you can clearly tell. Whereas other similar games like ITR have tried to adapt that formula into something different, I think they have abandoned some of the…

I am disabled, therefore I spend a LOT of time in VR. Zona Origin immerses me like no other VR title- including Half Life Alyx and Fallout 4 VR. I truly look forward to putting on my headset and stepping into Zona, moreso than any other game I have played (and I have played most if not all the good ones). I highly recommend picking this one up!

The enemies feel boring and very repetitive and their animations leave much to be desired, the story is not really very interesting, the guns are kinda weird to shoot, the maps feel incomplete and lack interactable objects, the graphics are not very pleasent to the eye and overall it just felt like a looting cans simulator with some shooting here and there But I like that there is a cooking mechanic, also the spray painting could be better with some other tools like brushes and thinner sprays…

Great and engaging story. Very nice visuals. The best backpack system I've seen in a VR 'looter shooter'. Developer is very engaged with community. Rogue-lite raids. A definite buy in my opinion. Edit: 1-26-25. I had an issue with my save file, the developer asked me to send him my save file, which I did. He took time out of his day to address my issue. My save is fixed and am able to continue on. I have never had this level of dedication shown from a developer. A Gaming+ has a customer for…

First thing, This is not actually a negative review! i do not dislike the game! steam just doesn't have a third option for "it's kinda mid right now but i think it's going somewhere." I feel like it's got potential but the early access-ness is definitely noticeable and makes it kinda just feel weird/bad to play. I don't regret paying for it because the dev needs to survive to make the game, but i think it could use a little bit of time to cook before i'll really be able to get into it. for now…

Some thoughts. This just feels like rip-off Into The Radius. I know it's a solo-dev, but it's still a $20 game so I would like it to be fun and worth my money. This just isn't. Voices As opposed to ITR, this game has "voiced" NPCs. Voiced in quotations because I'm pretty sure it's an AI voice. Just based off of speech patterns and such. Also, the characters yap endlessly and the game has barely started. It's too much too soon. I can see why 50% of players do the tutorial, the extremely…

Well well well... The ultimate VR Stalker experience. Before today I thought I could not be spooked by a videogame. I was wrong. First things first though. The game is optimized supremely well. For the amount of details and fidelity, it runs buttery smooth on high settings. My rig is not a potato but not a NASA level supercomputer either, so such a smooth performance speaks volumes on the technical state of the game. Now, combat. The weapons sound and feel punchy, the impact is there,…

this game compared to Into The Radius is a tough one, this game feels more faithful to S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and yet it still cant really compare because for me this game is better. ITR is very glitchy, i always crash when i play it so i ended up refunding it. but this game, its got so much immersion. i do wish the textures looked a little better as they do look a tad outdated, but other than that, the guns, the physics, the creatures, its so good. im going to reccomend this game to my friends 100%.

The idea of the game is very good: the graphics are above average, not bad. The control of things is bad... I've never seen anything worse. Things fall past the backpack, the backpack constantly reaches "by itself". Move the shutter of the machine gun - from the third time you find the position and so on. A game in which you get killed only thanks to the idiotic controller settings. I hope they fix this in the future, then I'll play.

The game is jank, but it's from a solo dev, and you can feel the passion. Support a single developer from Ukraine. For those complaining about not knowing what to do, read your quest log, go to your shelter, and travel to the location in your quest log. It's not that hard. To the dev, a few points, that need to improve if I want to keep playing. 1. please make enemies less bullet spongy, I know headshots do a lot of damage, but still... 2.make the right shoulder weapon holder larger, so…

This game does NOT get the recognition is deserves. If you're a fan of the soviet post-apocalyptic shooter/gather - you're going to love this. At first, I did not like this game. I got my ass kicked twice by the Doomsday folks after spending 30 minutes looting the map which resets you back to the beginning of the map like you just arrived. One of the best VR games I've played, and I have over a 150 VR games on Steam. You do have to give it a chance, so don't judge it too early. I'm not even half way through on the content available and more is coming. Gunplay feels alright now, since the developer has recently fixed up some of the shaky tracking issues that are seen in some of the early youtube reviews. As a huge fan of Into The Radius/ITR2/CONVRGENCE/Pacific Drive, ZONA Origin helps scratch that single player survival shooter itch in a positive yet different manor than the others in the genre. I've live streamed the game for about 8 hours and every moment has been enjoyable & keeps me engaged. There has been an excellent balance of action, horror, open world exploration, missions, enemies, anomalies and different environments. The loot & reward system is well done, although I wish I didn't…

Quickly became one of my favorite vr games. Some of the most atmospheric environments I’ve played in, with fun gunplay and customization as well as super rewarding looting. The developer is really hard working, constantly adding player suggestions and responding to issues and general chat in their discord along with releasing constant updates with major content. The game is huge, I’m 10 hours in and still have quests and maps to unlock.

Too much grass. It's mostly a joke, but maps with lots of tall grass often have such poor visibility that they can feel unfairly frustrating at times. It eventually got annoying enough that I stopped playing a while ago. Overall, the game has a fantastic concept and does an excellent job of creating its own unique atmosphere. The game is a work in progress with the developer actively engaging with players. However, the dev is also in a country at war and trying to handle multiple projects which will slow down development. It is a good game for the price. I got it through the humble sale but I still think it's worth full price or when on sale if money is tight. (Each part is listed so skip to what you wanna know) -Comparisons First off the style of this game is sticking true to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R style that a game genre of this kind should honestly center itself around knowing how successful, most people have a hard time between a game like this and Into The Radius 2 however ITR2 is still in early access, some people feel…

This is an improvement in almost every aspect compared to the first game. Even though many mechanics are handled better now, it’s still a very basic, cheaply made (which I don’t mind) and poorly thought-out (which is a real shame) STALKER clone. The AKS-74U in this game deals more damage than the AK-74... It feels like ZONA Project X 1.1, and I can’t understand why anyone would charge money for both of these games at the same time. Aswell as NPC quest givers. Atmospheric World: The game successfully creates an immersive world, enhancing the player's experience. This game was such an improvement over the first one, Z.O.N.A. Project X. Guns are more balanced, a lot of quality of life improvements and refinements. This is a real deal with tons of content and playtime exceeding original Stalker game. Also I believe this is one dev project which is incredible for the amount of content.
