I initially left a negative review, saying that the game left a lot to be desired and the optics didn't even work. However, within 24h, the dev added me to investigate what the issue might be, and I reckon your experience will be similar if you have technical issues with it. I was also not very happy with the sound effects of some guns, and they were changed soon as well even though I hadn't even mentioned them myself. The game isn't exactly S.T.A.L.K.E.R in VR, but it gives similar vibes with…

I personally cannot play through this game as it stands, but I'm leaving a good rating and a recommendation because I believe this game deserves to be supported. It's a well-made game that looks great and runs flawlessly. The inventory system took a bit to get used to during the tutorial (similar to Boneworks but just different enough that adjustment is needed). Finally I got through the combat tutorial just fine so I was ready to get into what promised to be a fun experience. Unfortunately…

Experienced on the Meta Quest 2 You can view my early impressions & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/8xEAsBHBD7M This is a neutral recommendation! I currently only recommend buying this game to support development, assuming you're interested in supporting development of a STALKER series type experience to VR. In its current state, the gameplay is honestly not very good. However, it does have a lot of potential. The visuals look very good for a budget title. This developer definitely got the…

This game took all the best parts of other games and made one incredible game. It feels like a combination of The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, contractors, Half-Life Alyx and Into the Radius, all crammed into one amazing game. The devs should be very proud of this title.

Cheeki Breeki Simulator in VR with a linear storyline Z.O.N.A. is a linear action/adventure game with a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. style paint job. This game really caught me by surprise. I bought this game on a sale and did not really have a whole lot of expectations. I am a fan of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games and have been longing for one of these games in VR. The closest thing I could find that felt like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. in VR was Into The Radius. However, playing Z.O.N.A. I feel this game is almost closer…

Born in Chornobyl Z.O.N.A Project X has amazing visuals & a scary atmosphere. Inspired by the S.T.A.L.K.E.R-series you explore the zone around the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant after the devastating man-made nuclear disaster. You encouter anomalies, mutants and bandits. Everything can kill you. Your gun is your only friend. The story is told in the form of cutscenes, ingame events, text and audio. You will read a lot and better read carefully because the game won't hold you by the hand and…

It's S.T.A.L.K.E.R in VR! For a brand new early access game, this really impressed me. This might be the first game in my opinion to have the potential to rival Into the Radius as the best VR title. I'm not saying it's better than ITR now, because it's not yet, but it's as good if not better than ITR was at the same point in it's development timeline. I really hope the developer(s) keeps up with updating this game frequently because it is really fun and does a great job at capturing the…

Needs A LOT of work to be comparable to something like Into the Radius, or even Paradox of Hope (both tremendously better IMO). There's a good base for a good game here, but it feels a lot like a mobile game that got ported to VR. The gun mechanics are basic and clunky, and there are no gun mods other than different magazine sizes you might stumble accross during each level, but certainly no gun sights (in fact, one or two of the weapons seem to be missing their iron sights). The levels are…

I wanted to give this one a shot, considering I rolled the dice with Into The Radius (ITR) and ended up really loving that game. While I believe this game has some potential, I wasn't satisfied in comparison to ITR. I've never been a STALKER fan, but having played ITR, Z.O.N.A. PX felt very lacking. I get that each game is different, but sometimes other games just set the bar, and its hard to come back from that. I do agree on the price tag for this game ($19.99 as of Dec 2023). That felt…

Z.O.N.A is a game developed by an indie dev, who I had the chance to speak with on short notice regarding a bug I found in their title. They are a very relaxed developer, in the sense that they are not uptight or rude - which is something good considering the amount of pressure indie developers can have when making titles. Z.O.N.A is a lot like Into the Radius, but you have monsters AND people you get to encounter in the Zones. The game is heavily inspired by the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games…

I really want to support an independent developer, but I can't recommend this one. I have a feeling that this project was far too ambitious, and I personally would have enjoyed a smaller, more thoughtful and polished game much more. Everything about the weapons in this game is terribly wrong. The enemies' bullet velocity is hilariously slow - a thrown stone travels faster. You ♥♥♥♥ the AK with the fire selector locked. The Desert Eagle is three times cheaper than the Makarov and only…

Let me preface this by saying i just got off playing into the radius and really wanted a game that played closer to the stalker games where you fight against monsters and humans nearly in equal amounts. Into the radius has no other humans and are all monsters. This game looks like it could have had potential. it has the ability to reload gun magazines but feels clunky. The rifles are weirdly small and the handguns are weirdly large. The magazines on rifles are very large for some odd reason.…

Experienced on the Valve Index It is in early access so the game is still being worked on. The game world is very atmospheric with great sound and lighting, it really does feel like you are in Chernobyl. The gun-play needs some work, but as I said, the devs have already started working off of the feedback given, which is great. The actual game world itself and…

I'm glad I did. I've now come back around to it and I"m having a blast. Sure, it's not as polished as some experiences. A more linear, story-focused take (think Half-Life Alyx or Metro, not Into the Radius) on a Stalker-inspired VR game. A little bit too much lore-dumping text and dialogue to read in the early-game, but there's nothing stopping you from skipping it all and jumping into the mutant/bandit-blasting action. Controls are generally pretty good, some of the equip regions (especially the over-the-shoulders; hint - grab your ears) are a little funky but you get used to them. Weapons are interesting,…

You can use the arrow keys on your keyboard to lift your position up. Be sure to go through the training to learn about your weapons and where to store everything in your backpack. Take your time and learn it. You life depends on it. This is a great game and the price is great too. Thank you

Game frankly sucks, there is barely any content that *works* in the beginning, pretty much most of my time spent playing has been stuck in the damned tutorial due to the environment not being properly light at all. The NPC's voice lines are without a doubt AI Generated, they do NOT flow like human writing, and run on way too long to be paced by a actual human, the voices being "Text to Speach" I can handle, IF the writing wasnt so terrible. The starting dialog is *required* to even understand…

I really wish there was not only a thumbs up and a thumbs down button. A "meh" button or a "Its rated to high or low, I want to bring it more towards the middle" button. This game was potential and is impressive for one dev alone, yet it has some game design mistakes. Z.O.N.A Project X VR is a great VR game, in need of a lot of work. I think at its core, this game is awesome! But almost every aspect of the game can be nitpicked into oblivion. The story mode is pretty good, but it's voiced by AI. Sometimes it's not noticeable, other times it's downright painful to listen to. The gunplay is alright, but super "floaty" compared to any other VR shooter. It feels like it's going for a much more arcade-y style of gameplay compared to something like Into the…

I don't mind the game too much but I can't recommend it. Any developer who has achievements that are impossible to get should be tarred, feathered, stuffed in a bag and thrown in a dark hole.. A nice prequel to Zona Origin, you can really see the jump in quality between the two games; I left a positive review because I appreciate the developer, but the game is NOT worth 20 euros, if you find it heavily discounted and/or you want to support the author, then it's worth to buy it, but otherwise I'd suggest to go straight for Zona Origin because that one is absolutely worth every single cent.

A decent STALKER VR Clone a-la Into the Radius, although it has all the jank you'd expect from a game made by one person. Inventory slots are precise, meaning you have to put everything exactly where the game wants you to, but I was able to get the hang of it pretty quickly - but, others seem to have had problems, so YMMV. Oh boy, this game has truly tested my patience. Normally, I'm calm and easy-going, but this game pushed my buttons. While the graphics and atmosphere are great, the controls are a major pain in the ass. It feels like items constantly slip from my grasp, and the backpack seems to disappear at random. Impossibly complicated in terms of gun-play. Reloading is extremely clunky. Played repeatedly and kept accidentally pulling out a magazine, struggled to reload and was killed very quickly. Zombie animations are absurd. Despite a patch apparently fixing it, npc's can kill you through walls and floors. I appreciate that this is EA but based on what I've experienced for this to be fun to the casual gamer will take a lot of work and development. I will keep my eye on it. Refund requested.

ZONA Project X is clearly the work of a person who loves STALKER and the Metro series. You can even see some edifications that are similar or even copy-paste of some STALKER Clear Sky buildings. You can perform "Raids" to obtain new gear or simply for the profit of it. However, the more I played, the more I…

I bought this because of the similarities to "Into The Radius". It's got the same theme, and also the same mechanics. What is different is the interaction with other characters. This just makes the game all the more better. I love "ITR", and I'm loving this. If you love Stalker and Fallout game this is a very good iteration of that. I have a blast during the time playing. Textures should be upgraded in my opinion. Gameplay and performance is solid. I will be coming back to play the other Vaults/Maps even after the credit roll.

The game is nice, cool "Stalker" atmosphere, great anomalies etc. unfortunately (for me), it is another "paintball shooter", ie bullets do no harm (some hit points, and with three to five bullets the enemy go down...). It is quite unrealistic and (again, IMHO) ruins the "reality" aspect of VR. If you're ok with that sort of shooters I would recommand for the great landscapes. See you on Onward ;-)
