Zombie Vikings is an action brawler game developed by Zoink Games. Loki has stolen Odin’s good eye and Odin tasks four Zombie Vikings with the job of retrieving the eye at all costs! Along the way you’ll find yourself faced with a fair few boss fights, some funny moments and bucket loads of loot! Full Disclosure: A review copy was provided by the developer. Presentation Zombie…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game Summary: A nice feature of this title is that you're not fighting against mindless hordes of zombies. Instead, in Zombie Vikings, that's what you play as! This beat-em-up, where you fight with swords, has you battling against various monsters, as well as normal humans, while still being the protagonists. By now there's been plenty of games where you take the position of the zombie horde, but in this very popular sub-genre, it's still nice to have a zombie-based game not devolve into…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What is it? While Zombie Vikings retains much of the look and some of the comedic style from Zoink's first game Stick it to the Man!, it is a very different game that can be essentially described as an arcade-style beat em' up. Players can choose from one of four different characters which all have their own unique set of attacks and feel to them and then progress through a series of levels which are mostly straight-forward, but occasionally have hidden side quest objectives too. Some may…

See 100s of more local 4-player reviews at my [url=http://store.steampowered.com/curator/8485829-SvenEvils-Playground/] curator page! My favorite multiplayer hack'n slash game on Steam! Awesome game. 4 heroes, freshly resurrected from the dead and therefore zombies, are on a quest to retrieve the stolen eye of old Odin. It was stolen by the mischievous Loki, who is now on the run to hide from the four heroes (and Odin). The game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A brawler with great humor and characters. Especially fun with friends! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTruXpDmvWw This devs behind this game made Stick it to the man. Both games have a super unique art style, and cool animation. You can choose between 4 different resurrected characters, each have their own weapons, and unique attacks. They even have their own unique dialogue within a level, which gives you extra reason to maybe replay levels. The writing really had me laughing out loud.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only 6.1% of players have completed this game, and there are reasons for that. While this review is ultimately negative, it definitely qualifies as one of those mid-line negatives. (Thanks, Steam. -_-) My wife and I enjoyed the game overall (she more than I), but there are so many problems with it that I couldn't recommend it in good conscience. The following are some of the more prominent problems that we encountered throughout the game: - A game-breaking bug in the Tomb of Bork. We were…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Zombie Vikings is a mix of Castle Crashers with the graphics style from Stick it to the Man (Ray is even a DLC character here). There's not much to say. You have 4 characters (+ 3 DLC and 1 unlockable, which makes 8 in total) with which you hack and bash yourself through about 30 levels in total. These mainly consist of fighting, fighting and more fighting...and the occasional boss. Your characters have different attacks, charged attacks, aerial moves, special attacks (that can also be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Status: Completed (played in 2-player co-op) A truly fantastic game, which deserves much more attention than it got. Presentation Top-notch, gorgeous to look at hand-drawn graphics. You can practically make some screenshots during cutscenes and choose any of them as your wallpaper, they're THAT good. Never wanted to skip a single cutscene (skipped only if needed to replay the level again). It's like watching a cartoon, a really good one. The levels are extremely detailed and unique, never…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iTF_zgW4oA&feature=youtu.be Zombie Vikings is a side scrolling hack em’ up four player co-op with incredible story and a few unique and fun mechanics. The art is done in an incredibly thematic hand painted style and it’s really quite a beautiful game in terms of aesthetics. The game play is similar to Castle Crashers and other side scrolling hack and slash types of games. You are able to gain money and buy upgraded weapons or runes after you find them in the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Zombie Vikings: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Odin, the All-Fathers of Nordic Gods, is sitting down at his table and relentlessly polishing his staff as he wants to have the most sparkling staff in all Valhalla! After reaching his goal, Odin looks with his good eye at his amazing achievement, when suddenly Loki (The Wizard of lies) bursts through the front door and manages to steal Odin’s good eye! Absolutely furious, he summons 4 Zombie Vikings and sends them on the quest to retrieve his good eye. Zombie…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The god of deceit has stolen Odin's only eye. To bring him back, the Father of the Gods sends a team of the best Warriors that once entered the halls of Valhalla in pursuit of him. Vikings that are called only in emergencies! True, due to blindness - some of them are a little rotten... Pros: + Localization into several languages + Visual style of the game + Familiar characters from games from other studios + Absurd but hilarious plot + Lots of adult jokes + Various Easter eggs + Achievements +…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ill be straight to thew point: Pros: -Funny Story -Nice Visual -Cool Characters -Lots of hilarious references on vikings or pop culture. The game is mostly hilarious in itself. Cons: -Unbalanced characters - Tons of different Weapons and runes BUT, mostly useless - Lots of frustrating monsters who either hide in screens corners or who trap your character and hold it in a stranglehold which you cannot escape from.... Often makes user feel helpless - The game is cooperative but a lot of…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pro tip. When choosing a name for your game. Choose something early in the alphabet, then you'll always be first in lists :) I learned after working on a game called Zombie Vikings at a studio called Zoink Games.
unlabelledView post →The game is good and sometimes even hilarious, but unfortunately there are so many bugs that you can't even progress through the stages. That's too sad, it would be a good game if not for that. And no, you won't be able to avoid those bugs, your only chance of getting away is restarting the whole check point over and over again, until the enemies don't get stuck somewhere away from the screen or even invincible
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Zombies? check. Vikings? check. Absurd levels of fun to be had? check! If you have any interest in the aformentioned subject matter, this game is for you. And hey, you can impale your friend's butt right on your sword and swing them around like some sort of friend-kebab-beating-stick; what's not to love?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall I just felt like Zombie Vikings was an attempt by Zoink at taking what Behemoth's Castle Crashers did, and making it more fleshed out by adding better graphics, more story, more cut-scenes, and voice acting. It was a good effort, but overall there just wasn't enough polish to make all this extra stuff actually good. Zombie Vikings looks nice, but it was pretty buggy on my i3 laptop even though it appeared to meet the required specs. Every object on screen would shake around like crazy…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay is fun, fun characters, nice artwork and nice humor. There are technical problems, which made me ask for a refund. The savegames didn't work, I lost my (humble) progress. I had an issue with the Unity Engine and Avast, which I was able to resolve myself. Unfortunately I can give this only a negative rating, despite really wanting to like the game.

We had been looking forward to try this game for a long time, and was pleasantly surprised when we got an early chance to play this game prior to release, and even more pleased when we started it up and got to hack and slashing! I have prepared a very short First Impressions of Zombie Vikings, based upon our first few hours of gameplay.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Talk about simple madness and fun! I really like the game. Filled with absolutely cringey and hilarious humour you are one of four zombie vikings sent on a quest to get Odin's eye. The game is certainly made for multiplayer in similar fashion to that of Castle Crashers, but even alone it is still wonderful. Lots of voice acting, cut scenes and humor to blend it all together. Along with lots and lots of slaughter, which you clearly can't have without the accompanying laughter. Hedgy is my…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DO NOT BUY - buggy and multiplayer is completely unplayable! It would've been a great game, but it fails on a fondamental level being a co-op oriented brawler: the multiplayer is completely unplayable due to netcode that's barely even there and numerous bugs that get escalated in multiplayer, like getting stuck, falling through textures and not seeing some textures altogether (like attacks and loot). I feel sincere sympathy for the artists and voiceactors that did a great job, even the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to like this game but I can not recommend it for other users. During game play over two sessions (5 hours), I got to the last two stages. I went to eat and exited the game and came back 30 minutes later to find out the SAV file was corrupted. I was so disappointed that I did not leave the game running. I then posted in the forum, I was asked to email my SAV and did so. I was told to wait 1.5 weeks. Time past and did not see an email, I went back to the forum as asked again. While the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not going to post a whole + and - thing since there are tons of reviews here already. The game itself is fun and great, but its performance is not. After turning off AA and Vsync, I would get about 150+ FPS but the game would still be really choppy. Probably an engine issue that I don't see fixed for a long while. Shame.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stucked mobs. Desync in online coop. Zoom-out problem with 21:9 resolution. Specific humor.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A lot of fun from what i have played so far. Great with friends but still fun on your own. Amazing looking artstyle with great humourous cutscenes too. Controls are very bad on keyboard and mouse though so i definitely recommend a controller but they are just about usable. All characters look original and have their own abilities which makes playing with each of them unique, even the NPC's look like a lot of work was put into their design. Performance is not great to be honest but hey my rig is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Look, I've played my fair share of beat-em-ups - probably too many if I'm being honest - and this one's actually got something going for it. They've done this thing where you hold down buttons to charge attacks instead of just mashing them like a sugar-rushed child having a fit. Imagine you're a game developer, right? And you're sitting there thinking, "How can I make a game that's simultaneously the most ridiculous and most entertaining thing possible?" This is what happens. It's like the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good game for you and your kids.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Primitive button masher full of bugs and design issues. Gameplay is boring by design and bugs are ranging from 'unable to respawn' to corrupted savegames and unplayable online multiplayer. Best to watch walkthrough on youtube because art, writting and cutscenes are very amusing and fun, but actually playing it is a torture.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a fantastic Beat-'em-up side-scrolling Platformer. Witty writing, great art, and spectacular voice-acting! Loads of fun to play, whether on your own or with friends! Friends can play locally and/or remotely, too! Eat Brains and loot Gold! Fight over who gets dibs on new weapons! Explore less-trodden paths and find hilarious side-quests! What more could you want? Well, ok, fine! The Music's friggin' sweet, too!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You know what makes zombies even more scarier!!?? zombie vikings! Nice sountrack, tons of weapons, nice art, funny humor, coop, and a lovely story. THIS IS MY TYPE OF GAME!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun, colourful action brawler with incredible artwork. Love the graphics, the colourful characters, the little background touches and animations. Features some great (mature) and tongue-in-cheek humour that always hits the mark. Great voice work and an absolutely great soundtrack. Controls like a charm, very responsive and intuitive. You can either play it by button-mashing or master all the control features, it's up to your own style. Played the game with 3 people in local co-op mode as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BRILLIANT! Hilarious dialog and incredibly fun game play. You need this game in your life. Wonderfully entertaining. Huge fan :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun multiplayer sidescroller hack and slash with some unique tricks and awesome cameos/references from other indie games. Hilarious writing and well drawn environments. I found 90% of the weapons inferior to use, though hilariously created, and there were quite a few bugs when I played it, but nothing that prevented a group of 4 of us to make it through to the end online.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one fantastic and funny game. It is similar to Castle Crashers in game play. I've played the whole game campaign together with my friends on couch co-op (through my steam link). The humor, the voice acting, the graphics and the music are all incredibly well done. The two additional DLC characters are not crucial two buy and also do not play a part in the campaign. Don't worry, this is NOT A ZOMBIE GAME. In my opinion, recommended for anyone that or: loves Castle Crashers, couch or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game takes a lot of cues from Stick it to the man in terms of its aesthetic and can shine with it's writing (most of the time) but I'm afraid the mechanics are a let-down. Full review on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BydRgqnLvUE
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Zombie Vikings is a beat'm up similar to what you'll find in Castle Crashers. It features a fast paced combat with an interesting art style. You have your choice of 4 (6 total with the DLCs) characters, and you can play upto 4 players at once locally. The characters play mostly the same, with their special attack being the aspect that separates them. You have your basic attack, when held it'll do a more powerful swing. The more you chain the more damage you'll do. You also have a block and a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love taking chances on buying these cheap games I've never heard of. Some of the most fun games I've played in the last couple years have been these random $2-5 impulse buys. Oceanhorn looks like their attempt at a Zelda game; and Zombie Vikings looks like the most ridiculous beat em up.
unlabelledView post →Repetitive combat, otherwise amazing game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is so poorly optimized that even on the lowest settings a 2019 gaming laptop can't stop it from chugging--like REALLY chugging--for a few minutes (which are totally unplayable) EVERY other few minutes. It just cycles back and forth. I can't rate it higher than maybe a 2/5 if there's no way around this whatsoever. Buyer beware!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh boy this game is a pure gem, hack and slash with basic platforming, that's the Zombie Vikings. This game is simply packed with ton of laughs on every step you make through game, starting with Story beginning ending by the credits itself, regularly I had to stop playing from time to time, to take some breath from all the laughs and joy I had while playing this game. Oh and shouldn't forget on amazingly addictive soundtrack <3 and could say specificaly unique graphics. Gameplay is quite…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Zombie Vikings is a simple brawler with some ok jokes. Not really worth the investment, as the gameplay is just too simple and repetitive. And on top of that, there are quite a few bugs that bring the game down even more. The final dissapointment is that the quality of writing was so much better in the studio's previous game, 'Stick it to The Man!'. Did they change the writer or something? Anyway, if you want to play a brawler, I feel like there are a ton of better alternatives out there.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →That is pretty good and well drawn beat'm up. Have some bugs and controls not so good as it can be, but in this game I punched sea in the face. What else I need to say?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fantastic game. The humour is excellent as well as the sound and graphic-design. If you have one or two friends to play with in coop, this game is the bomb. Would also recommend playing with a controller.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like the humor like the art style remind me of deathspank
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a hilarious side-scrolling action game, along the same lines as Golden Axe, but with zombie vikings and purchasable gear. The artwork is fantastic and the comedy is even better! I demo'd this game and PAX East 2016, and immeadeatly bought it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →don't get me wrong it's a great game when it comes to the artwork, jokes etc. but the laggy graphics, tons of bugs and kind of repetitive grind just does not cut it. If it's on sale realy cheap like a couple of euros then i think it's worth the try.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Zombie Vikings is a simple, lighthearted side scrolling beat-em-up with a Tim Burton-esque art style. The writing, while sometimes pushing it's jokes too hard, is relatively funny. The combat is simple, but never tedious. Each character has their own unique special ability which makes larger battles a lot more interesting. It has some flaws while playing online. Animations tend to skip, there is frequent lag, even with good connection. If you have the chance, I would recommend playing local…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay all, I don't typically write reviews for games but in this case, I just have to. And I must say...what a game! The artistic styling is superb, the script is hilarious, the soundtrack is top notch and absolutely fitting to the game's comedic nature, each character has their own distinct personality and attributes and the gameplay is as smooth as butter! I really can't say enough about this game. It's very polished and a heck of a lot of fun for any age. Do yourself…
