60 of 127 · most liked firstYosumin! has a lot of things going for it, like the audio design, but it fails in the most important part of a puzzle game: gameplay. Yosumin!'s gameplay is simple and repetitive. You simply have to make rectangles with a yosumin in each corner, regardless of what is in the middle of the shape (aside from some bonuses like extra level time or alternate objectives). The way the yosumin populate the board is completely random aside from a few unlockable modifier "treats" that don't affect the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The puzzle mechanic here is so simple and requires more luck than skill. There are so many better puzzlers out there.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Summary: Yosumin is a cute-styled casual puzzler made by Square Enix. Big name in game development would deserve a way better game but Yosumin just feels like a casual Popcap game, where all their fun and entertainment disappeared into cute budget. You will hear "Yay!" "Woo!" but you won't feel like that. You will just make another rectangle, then another and then another. It's not fun. It's not motivating enough to keep you playing, level objectives are just varieties of tasks like: make a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another variant on the block puzzler genre, Yosumin! sees you play on a 9x9 grid of blocks where you have to click on four blocks of the same shape/colour to describe the corners of a square or rectangle, which transforms all blocks within that space into the same colour as the selected corner blocks before removing all those blocks then replacing them with another mix of blocks. BLOCKS! Each stage sets you objectives, ranging from the simplistic, like removing a quota of specific coloured…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another simple puzzle game where you have to make rectangle using tiles of the same color as a corners. Each stage you gonna be met with different goals, like creating small sets, big sets, chain of same color and such. It's rather short, repetitive but somewhat fun. Presentation is also super cute so yeah. Controls are laggy and that's the main con. I still like the game though. Very slight recommendation for puzzle fans.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun and addicting little puzzle game. It's not particularly difficult but it can challenge your ability to recognize patterns. The gameplay is simple: make squares/rectangles where all 4 corners are the same color blocks to clear them and gain points. If you're looking for a simple pick up and play puzzle game akin to bejeweled this might be a good pick for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →On a 16:9 monitor the game seems to run at 800x600 stretched in full screen, but with weird letterboxing on all sides. There are no scaling options, your only options are to play it in a tiny window at correct scale or full screen with odd stretching issues (jagged lines, text rendering off screen).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very simple arcade "matching" game. Somewhat funny, but not recommended for money.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you love puzzle game's like Candy Crush,Tetris Attack or you are just a fan of puzzle game's this is a great one for you. :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Literally the cutest thing ever.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For someone looking for a time wasting, no thinking puzzle game, this game may be something your ineterested in. however, after putting in about 10-12 hours and finishing the game, this game isn't something I can recommend to everyone. The game is incredibly repetitive, there's about 5 'levels' each one has 7 or 8 zones and each level follows the same pattern to those zones. Collect X amount of coloured blocks in zone 1, make 4 squares in zone 2, collect X amount of stained glass peices,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game for puzzle game lovers. It has the same basic concept as most other puzzle games (making matches), but it's got a unique take on match-making. You have to find rectangular patterns on the game board. It's not a game that you'll blow through in an hour, so it's worth it at its regular price. The music is peppy and upbeat, and I haven't gotten sick of it, so that says something good. The graphics are bright and cheerful, and the little faces on each of the pieces are adorable. New…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like to puzzle a bit in between things? This is a fun little game to fill spaces of boredom when waiting for a dungeongroup in WoW or mining in EVE :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't think I can recommend Yosumin! unfortunately despite the fact that it has some nice aspects. The puzzle gameplay is quite simple and straightforward, and lacks in depth, which makes the difficulty curve poor, and therefore, the game shifts between laughably easy to annoyingly difficult, especially at the last levels. In addition to that, it becomes very repetitive without the feeling of possibly outsmarting the game, again due to the lack of depth. Audio, great. Artwork, nice. Story,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is to repetitive after 20mins its the samething over and over.. It doesnt take skill. Most of the time, its about luck. Pros Cute graphics Cons Repetitive Overpriced Boring after the first set of stages (10min) You need more luck than skill Only 4:3 Resolution Pressing ESC will close the game Menu only accessible when the game has already started Points are pointless Time is pointless no tradings cards & no achievements
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the sounds the blocks make! So cute and very amusing~ I was never into the candy crush fever but I dig this one very much. I'm going to finish that stained glass!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a lover of puzzle games, I picked up Yosumin long ago. I was surprised to see Square Enix's name on the title but figured I give it a try. What I discovered is an okay puzzler that needs a lil more polish. Before the game even starts, one of the first problems is that you cannot adjust the resolution of this game. You either go fullscreen or a small window. I know the game is old, but even just 1 or 2 different resolution choices would have been nice. Second, if you find yourself pressing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A variant on the matching block games. Match 4 blocks of the same colour that form a square or rectangle to clear the blocks within them. There's only a few strategies, matching four rectangles of the same colour clears that colour from the board, but matching squares counts for two rectangles, matching golden blocks resets the timer. The game is ok to play while listening to a podcast, but isn't interesting or fun enough to play by itself. It'll take around 10 hours to finish the story mode…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hey all I can say is that this game has made my Girlfriend love gaming. It took something as simple as this goofy puzzle game but hey it worked!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: + Adorable and brightly colored artwork. I especially liked the Treats. + I loved the sound effects. As annoying as the Badmin could be, their giggle was cute. + Not too difficult to learn how to play. + The sound effects and music have separate volume controls. I ended up turning the music entirely off because the way it sped up as time ran out made me too anxious. Cons: - Very repetative. Once the Boss Badmin has been introduced, you've seen everything truly new that this game is going…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game had real good potential. Everything is ruined from very bad rng and infuriatingly short time limit, after that the resolution is 4:3 , anoying music. Not worth even the 1$ i get for, 2/10. Got a real headache after replaying stages 10x of times because bad rng and the short timer, basicaly you need to get some pieces out but he doesn't even give you sometimes, very, very bad game design, at least get that timer out and let me relax, but no you need to hurry like a madman because…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Here is a game I like to grab when I'm board but don't have a lot of time to goof off. finding 4 corners for a rectangle? not as easy as you think all the time... pulling off squares or yosumins? good luck! add the stained glass and giant blocks and candies, just nice to play a puzzle game like this from time to time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Highly repetitive in gameplay, music and sound effects. I gave the game 40 minutes, and it didn't hook me. Puzzle games are supposed to be fun and/or rewarding, but Yosumin just felt like work. In the game, you match blocks (Yosumin) into squares and rectangles from a grid. It involves scanning each line one by one to see if you can find a shape. What sounds simple becomes frustrating as there is a lot of luck as to whether or not you will find enough patterns to reach the target before the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A poor implementation of an interesting idea; I can't remember any other puzzle game that has similar core mechanics. However, that's the extent of my praise. No real graphical options (and it chose a ridiculously low resolution by default). Even though the game chose this resolution for me, animations stuttered. The entire game did not feel smooth, and this made it painful to play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →hard for no reason
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Concept not bad, graphics could be better. It's PC game not for mobile. Would be good game for mobile than on PC... After this game I will have fobia of pressing ESC. Why on earth You would put ESC as Absolute exit, instead of MENU. And why menu apears only when You ALT+TAB... ? I do think that 3.99 is a bit too much for this game. Sorry.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like puzzle games and torturing yourself with repetitive tasks for over 250 levels, this is the game for you! Make squares and rectangles to clear objectives and move on in the game to complete a giant stained glass mirror. I hated myself for forcing myself to play through this abomination of a game but having now completed it, there is a sense of immense satisfaction. 10/10 Would never play again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Runs fairly "okay" on Windows 11, aside from stuttering every time the mouse is moved. Doesn't seem to happen on Linux thru Proton, however (EndeavourOS).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A variant on the matching block games. Didn't enjoy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a simple game, albeit frustrating at times. I would recommend giving it a try if you enjoy games like Puzzle Quest and Chuzzle.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let's be frank, the only reason I bothered to play this was to finish a Summer Sale achievement, which was to play a a new game. I don't even remember buying this game, so I only assume I got it as part of a bundle or maybe a gift. That said, it looked like a match three and I like match three games to a certain extent, so I gave it a shot. I was shocked to see the Square Enix logo appear on this extremely obscure puzzle matching game that I've never heard of. So actually, this isn't a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1) It crashed when I accidentally alt tabbed out. 1a) I had to force close it via task manager. Game is quite difficult to get a grasp on due to lack of tutorial in the campaign. It took a bit for me to figure out how to play the game. I don't remember how I got this game, but I definietly didn't pay for it. 1.5/5
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →didn't like the core mechanic. don't buy it unless you've exhausted all your other options for puzzle games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/g43f5cxMHrI The darkness has come to the land of the Yosumin!™ and went around smashing up all their favorite stained glass windows. Make rectangles of matching color corners to find the lost glass shards and rebuild the greatness that was the Yosumin!™most popular stained glass window. Yosumin!™ doesn't do much to challenge the player but offers a relaxing casual game with vibrant visuals and saccharin audio and visuals flair that cement the experience as a resounding "well…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some levels are so bad that they ruin the game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has no cards, no achievements, no incentive to play other than finishing that darned stained glass puzzle piece. Also, the buffs are cute little cakes and pudding and stuff. Wo HOo!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tags: Casual - Match3 Additonal Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Draw selection boxes aroung tokens to fill quotas. Gets old quick. No Xbox360 pad or resolutions support but nice art direction. Core mechanic here is very braindead, draw squares with each of the four corners having to be the same color block. Seriously affects the fun of the title. Additionally the game has loading bars and transition from screen to screen is slow and feels seriously unoptimized. Options…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very addictive game, I like it's high hookability and it's easy to pick up and play for a few minutes or hours. Highly recommended puzzler!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great and entertaining puzzle game in which you have to make squares or rectangles of little colored faces in which the corners are all of the same color. Each level unlocks a part of a beautiful mosaic, and the goal is to complete it. Quite fun to play from time to time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very simple, very hard and very luck-based tile-matching casual puzzle game. Sound-design is pretty good. Well, it is one, either you need it for your own reasons or you don't need one. It's grindy, but in working order and is manageable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is average, but the music is awesome. I would find myself losing levels on purpose to listen to the running out of time music, and the terrible rap sung by the final boss had me laughing for a while. Worth buying just to strip the audio out and put onto your ipod
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game with nice music, cute graphics, and fun puzzles. Nice game to play when just relaxing. The only issue that I have with this game is that it has a wierd resolution and if you hit escape then it exits the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game many many hours before I knew it was on Steam. Fantastic game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting mini-game, very cute and entertaining soundtrack, but why the small resolution ?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →With the amount of similar cheaper games running in portable touch devices, unless it's on sale, I see no reason why you'd buy this, anyway here's my quick list of pros/cons: Pros : - Fun - Cute graphics - Well finished Cons: - has no trade card drop - has no achievements - expensive for what it is
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute little matching game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a fun little game. When Square-Enix steps out of their RPG comfort zone, I'm usually impressed. There's not much story: a stained glass window of importance to the oddly-shaped creatures shatters, and it's up to Yellowmin and his friends to recover the fragments. To win puzzles, you must create squares using the same shape for all four corners of a square. Each level demands certain parameters for the square, ranging from squares made up of a particular color to Yosumins (using the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oddly addictive. Simple and nostalgic <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Classic, fun, puzzle game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A pleasant matching game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Grab the demo! - You can find in the right column of the store page. This is not an excellent title, but I liked and beat it. This is least strategic but rather reflexes are all. Caution: The save file will be lost once you beat the final stage. Copy it somewhere before you try it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rotate your group of puzzle pieces and match them all to get that sweet dopamine rush. Not my cup of tea feels complicated and weird
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting puzzle game with a unique mechanic that I don't believe I've seen elsewhere. Takes the fun of dragging and selecting files on your desktop and makes it into a game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent little time killer. Not bad, not great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a simple and fun little game with nice graphics and voices. I'm learning Japanese and wanted to take a break from translating JRPG dialogue. I wanted something small and simple where I could learn some new Japanese words, but quickly get to a point in which I had learned the games limited vocabulary. This its the spot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not my style. Neat concept that i haven't seen in a puzzle game before (you match corners of squares instead of just lining them up, getting them into a group, etc.) but this makes it heavily reliant on RNG and placement of the tiles. You could do the same level twice and they'd be vastly different difficulty levels. On top of this, I somehow had frame drops on an i-9 10850k and a 3070. What? How?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game! It's NOT a match 3 game, I don't like those
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looks and feels nice, but once you have all of the color it becomes more of a game of finding one of the few available matches rather than thinking about which one to use and why. So more of a word search than a sudoku.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice little casual game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For great justice. The golden squirrel power armor is a real equalizer.
