I like how Xblaze looks as a visual novel as the sprites and backgrounds blend in and have a lot of angles, the constant moving during action scenes and eye movement. As for the story you can play this without the first game since they practically recap the story from a different perspective for the first half of the game. As a sequel I feel like the new characters were simply a plot device that even the creators were too lazy to give them a name, not that they were bad but simply out shined…

"Lost...Memories!" One of the best VN's I've had the pleasure to play. Fantastic artwork, great storyline, supurb localisation and a novel way of involving the player in the VN that goes beyond picking choices on a screen. edit: won on Steamgifts

If you liked Code Embryo, this is pretty much a must-buy for you. Everyone else (disliked or never owned) skip this abomination. Starts out with two intriguing enough storylines, pushed to the side to introduce the main gratuitous moetrash 'plot', haremtrash retreaded with an occasional slightly better angle (huge amount of recycled material) so lots of 'omake' fluff, boring and tedious 'puzzles', ... Blazblue is a fantastic fighting game series whose VN mode is the main draw for me. Loved…

A fun and entertaining sequel to XBlaze Code: Embryo. (Recommended to view all endings (bad ends included) of Code: Embryo to avoid some small confusion throughout the story of Lost: Memories). Pros Characters, both returning and new, are just as interesting and fun as they were. While some cutscenes from the previous title are reused, the emphasis is more on each characters point of view (depending on which one is being viewed). Story is interresting. Decent amount of comedy. Good length.…

The voices are unbearable. I can't listen to their squeaky-ass voices without cringing and getting a headache.

The story is very disjointed because it's jumping from different perspectives and timelines. That would be okay if the writing was good but unfortunately it's not that exciting. Another negative, it's reusing a lot of assets and partially repeating the same story from the original game, makes me think this is a cash grab. Not Recommended

If you want to go through Code: Embryo, no need. They replay the entirety of Code: Embryo here. Taking place over 150 years before BlazBlue, a story that actually makes sense.

TOTALLY MIND-BLOWING. I can't believe it. Seriously I really enjoyed the other Blazblue's I played, but this prequel, I don't know It's so much better on character development, history, and more other things than actually Blazblue Like....Blazblue has like 5 games already and I don't even know that much about Bullet...Litchi..Saya's life and many more characters and I feel sad about it but, here on XBlaze: Lost Memories I felt to many emotions at once.. They, even with different personality,…

I think this game is an excellent Addition to its Predecessor. The new characters tell an interesting story on their own but i mainly came to this to hear more about what happend after the End of XBlaze Code : Embryo. In this regard i must say you should rather look to the former before you begin this novel cause otherwise you would miss out on some events mainly the other possible endings, since the game retells only one ending from its Predecessor. I found it very interesting to hear…

The sequel to Code: Embryo, XBlaze Lost: Memories is as wonderful and well crafted as its predecessor. Although, I lean towards Embryo (I like the way it is categorized in chapters, the feel and the character profiles), Lost Memories has its own uniqueness. PROS: - At this point I'm still playing, but the story so far is really engaging; - Music is perfect; - Mechanics are easy to learn (attention: the buttons now do different things); - Extras with stills, memories and Gag scenario; - Love…

This has been my favorite Visual Novel so far because what it does is extremely unique to turn what would be an otherwise ordinary story into a magical experience. There are about three layers of interactivity between the characters and the original story of XBlaze Code: Embryo to make you curious about the entire world before the War of the Black Beast. Again, the art is alright, I'm not going to say I suddenly liked it between then and now and honestly think they upped a bit on the…

I'll admit I've only played up to level 4, but I can't play any more. Half of this game is watching cutscenes from the first game, so you're paying for a game that is half just watching the first game that you probably already played. And the actual gameplay is just walking around a basic island collecting gems, and I know Visual Novels rarely have any actual gameplay in them, but if you're going to put it in there don't make it so insultingly bland. And every time you collect a gem you have to…

A sequel to Xblaze Code: Embryo, this game was a pleasant surprise. Code: Embryo was, in my opinion, a reasonably decent read despite its cliches and other issues. This game, Lost: Memories, presents itself as a much more unique experience that not only builds upon and improves the previous game's story, but also throws a few surprises that fans of BlazBlue will certainly appreciate. While I was a bit disappointed with the ending, the journey was definitely a worthwhile one. Recommended for…

I'll never get anywhere at all in this because I don't find the story interesting in the slightest. The music is great, and the Phantom Zone or whatever minigame is kind of cool.

XBlaze Lost: Memories, developed by Arc System Works and published by Aksys Games, is a story-driven visual novel that leans heavily into emotional storytelling and layered world-building. Acting as both a sequel to XBlaze: Code Embryo and a distant narrative companion to the broader BlazBlue universe, it focuses less on gameplay and more on unraveling a complex web of characters, memories, and alternate realities. It is a title that asks for patience and attention, rewarding players not…

If you are super into Blazblue's story you should absolutely give the XBlaze series a try! It's definitely a niche within a niche which is why I think it gets a bad rep but if you are in this particular niche don't let that bad rep scare you away. Lost Memories can get a bit repetitive due to it being mostly a recap of Code Embryo but it is absolutely a necessary sequel and you will get a deeper understanding of the XBlaze cast.

I think this one was better than the first one. Still, the price for these games are something out of this world for 6 hours in-game playing!!! Mechanics were clumsy during the mapping scenes, but the story wasn't bad.

If you don't like VN's in general this is probably not for you. Majority is an auto playing VN story with breaks between each floor that you walk around in topdown pixel art rpg style finding all the collectable so you can progress to the next level and continue the story. This part of the game is nothing special nor difficult, there are no rpg elements. It is nicely fully voiced with a nice VN art style and but not many conversation choices till the end. The story was sweet and is sure to…

i got this game in a bundle and i dont really like visual novel games so i usually play them for the easy trophies/achievements but its a pain when you try and skip the dialog with the button thats supposed to be assigned to skip the text yet no matter how many times you click that button nothing happens no text is skipped and im not looking to spend 3 or more hours reading a story i have no interest in. i dont recommend this title unless you like the series or enjoy reading text on screen for…

XBlaze Lost: Memories — Played: 6.8h | 40/40 Achievements | Finished TL;DR: Great art, decent music, and enough fanservice to keep the CG folder busy… but the “game” is basically a re-run with extra seasoning.
