60 of 182 · most liked firstAlthough WRC 4 promises to deliver the thrill of rallying on paper, it unfortunately offers a below-average experience due to technical issues and inconsistencies in its driving mechanics. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails?id=3685653707 The driving mechanics feel "clunky" to me. While playing, it felt as if there was input lag, registering inputs a moment after pressing. Later, I turned on Traction Control, and it improved slightly. Honestly, we're dealing with a title that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you’re a rally fan looking for a game that captures the spirit of the sport, WRC 4 is a hidden gem worth checking out. From the moment you hit the dirt, the game delivers a satisfying mix of realism and accessibility. The car handling feels weighty yet responsive which makes every corner a small victory when you nail it just right. The variety of stages from snowy mountain passes to muddy forest trails keeps the experience fresh, fun and the dynamic weather adds an extra layer of challenge…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Truly a relic of the past. My first introduction when launching the game was that it failed to detect my gpu so I had to play it with integrated graphics and even then the igpu was barely utilized. Besides anti-aliasing there are no graphic settings either. The game itself looks ugly and the handling is awful plus you're getting bombarded with error messages each time you finish a stage since the servers have long been retired. It doesn't seem like the game has a proper controller support as…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WRC 4 is pure arcade rally racing fun, if you like games like old DiRT games or simular ones then this game is welcome for you to check out: + 13 stages (good lenghts between 1-6 min tracks, 78 tracks) + 16 cars + fun driving physics + virsual style is nice for its time (they use a custom engine) + damage model is alright + good main menu soundtrack Cons: - few pop-in track detail stuff in distance - even for 2013 some dirt/mud textures look low quality Game is fun and it can be completed in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My first entry in the WRC series, I really enjoyed it, but due to lazy developers not removing the 6 achievements that are no longer obtainable because they require a server connection, I can't recommend this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not giving this game a "not recommended" rating because I disliked playing it, but rather because I found it to be difficult to get running properly on modern systems - which led to a lot of frustration. I encountered a fairly common bug where the audio would cut out after completing a rally. The only fix was to restart the game—something that quickly becomes frustrating when you have to do it after every stage. Graphically, the game is serviceable but hasn’t aged particularly well. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WRC 4 – Still Fun To Be Had Here Playing WRC 4 in 2026, it’s kind of cool how much fun this game still is. especially from a game put out in 2013, WRC 4 isn’t the most hardcore rally sim on the planet, it never was, even at release — and and that's why it works as a fun rally game, even today. Easy to Jump Into One of the best things about it is how instantly playable it is. You don’t need to spend half an hour tweaking settings or learning some complicated handling model, the physics are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Released in 2013, WRC 4 is over a decade old. It takes a few steps to make it work properly on modern systems. For 2K or 4K monitors, go to C:\Users\(user name)\AppData\Roaming\Milestone\WRC4. Open the config.ini file and modify the width and height value to your monitor resolution. For 1080P, the launcher will do. Open the game and the launcher will pop up. Set refresh rate to 59Hz and disable v-sync in video settings, otherwise some weird stuff like missing audio will happen. Exit the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Actually, very fun, I am comparing it to my favourite arcade rally games like dirt 3 and 4, which are amazing(not available anymore tho). This is a great alternative although it lack a lot of features that dirt 4 offers but what can you do if you can't buy it anymore? Buy this masterpiece. For those who have audio glitch, try to turn on V-Sync, or cap fps. helped me. BUT GOD THERE ARE SO MANY HAIRPINS
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WRC 4 – First-Time Player Review This is my first WRC 4 game ever. I actually bought it along with WRC 5 for the jaw-dropping price of $0.86 total (seriously, that’s cheaper than a bottle of water), so I figured I’d start with this one. Tested on: Asus Vivobook 15 i3-1115G4 8GB 3200MHz DDR4 First Impressions The online servers are long gone, but the game still tries to connect before letting you into the main menu. On my 5GHz Wi-Fi and decent ISP, the delay is just a few seconds, but…

unlabelledView post →Despite being a fan of rally and rally games I've never played any of the WRC games before. The game is on the easy side with handling being closer to the old Colin McRae games than simulation. In fact after getting used to the handling model in the junior rally career I was getting a bored enough through WRC2 and 3 seasons that I considered just dropping the campaign. But thankfully you don't need many reputation points to start driving on WRC cars. Only WRC cars feel like they have enough…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Performance isn't quite great, and it doesn't help that with in-game vsync, the framerate is capped to 30. To add to the slowness, the loading screens are all very long. The game crashes frequently as well. On my first boot, the game had crashed. Other than the performance issues, there isn't much interesting to say about the game. The music kinda sucks? I don't like the sounds too much compared to KT's WRC games. That's about it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its good! its not realstic handling-wise at all, but i dont care much about that, honestly. the handling is fun and it kept me playing until i won the WRC championship in game and thats really all i need :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good game for my low end laptop with integrated gpu The control is not too hard, everything smooth
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even though this game is old, it's still pretty fun for a casual rally game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a person who likes rally games, i recommend it for users who have a low end pc. The game really looks like a mobile game. Though it came out in 2013. I'm currently having fun while playing the game, it helps me to improve my skills as a rally driver. And it's one of my first rally game on steam.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Works well on my low end pc
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this game for $0.99 and glad to say it worth it. Even at full price I would say it’s worth it. Just be aware that this game is ancient and has some bugs.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WRC 4 FIA World Rally Championship — A Classic Rally Experience That Still Delivers. Even for its age, WRC 4 FIA World Rally Championship still looks good and delivers a fun arcade-style rally experience. The tracks are varied and challenging, though some sections reuse similar layouts, it never feels boring. Visually it holds up better than many contemporaries, and the handling strikes a great balance between accessible and exciting. There are some technical hiccups — the game runs at a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best $2 I ever spent. If you want to buy it, make sure you have the Lossless Scaling App for Steam because without it, the game looks substantially worse. Besides that, I really enjoy the game. It's rather simple but still very cool.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game will not start because it is trying to connect to servers that are already down and therefore not working.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bad Optimization, terrible "please wait" loading screen at start took me a minute to even play the game. And no detail video settings to turn off the motion blur and other settings to increase the FPS.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't recommend a game that only says: "Please Wait" and you wait, and wait, and wait.....
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite some annoying issues, including the bad V-Sync and the occassional random mute which requires a restart, I had a decent time with the game. The physics might not be too impressive anymore, but atleast they are a lot less frustrating compared to 7
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →imo this is the best rally game ever made if you are down to play career mode for chilling with controller, just perfect for it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very addictive game. I would HIGHLY recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of motorsport and rallying in general. Controls are easy. Worth every penny.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WRC 4: A Decent Rally Experience That Doesn't Go the Extra Mile Graphics & Visuals: 7/10 Holds up reasonably well for a 2013 game, and the damage effects add some nice detail. Overall, though, the presentation is plain and rarely impresses, especially next to the DiRT titles. Rally Experience & Stage Design: 6.5/10 The stages cover asphalt, snow and mud, but many feel generic. Even with the realistic settings, the experience lacks the intensity that would make each rally memorable.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →sounds cut-off everytime a rally session is finished, causing you to restart the game. performance is hilarously bad, for a second i thought the game was mining crypto. and sometimes the game just straight up refuses to load. avoid.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a good humble little rally game with quite a bit going for it, even 13 yrs later, would recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Should not be still advertised as multiplayer when all online components are shut down.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Somehow got this running on my Steam Deck. It think it was due to me using the latest version of Proton-GE. Game played absolutely perfectly no issues. Fun game for rally beginners. Plays and looks good 13 years later.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game in 2026, lol. And I don't regret buying it given that I'm new to racing games and, for now, playing on keyboard. Modern Rally Games are difficult to play either on controller or keyboard. So, I'm enjoying playing an old WRC title, as I'm paricularly interested in the history of WRC. I'd like to learn more about the stages that are probably excluded from the current WRC, that's quite interesting to explore. Also, I can learn about the cars and drivers more. Overall, I have a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finding it difficult to leave a positive review. There's a major sound bug that never seemed to be patched. After every race in career, my sound would cut out and I'd be forced to restart the game. The recommended troubleshooting didn't work for me. Game is unfortunately broken.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WRC 4 FIA WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP 50/50 Achievements | 100% Completion | 24 Hours Played Compared to the more recent entries in the WRC series, this one definitely feels slower — and I don’t just mean the cars. Menus take their time, transitions take their time, and the game itself sometimes feels like it’s thinking about life before letting you drive. That said, once you’re actually on the stages, it’s still a solid old-school rally experience. The driving is enjoyable and has that…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WRC 4 FIA World Rally Championship, developed by Milestone S.r.l. and published by Nacon, represents the studio’s continued effort to refine and solidify its take on the officially licensed rally racing franchise. Building upon the foundations of its predecessors, it brings together the cars, drivers, and tracks of the 2013 FIA season, presenting them in a package that aims to capture the raw energy and unpredictability of the sport. While not revolutionary, WRC 4 delivers an authentic rally…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WRC 4 delivered a authentic rally experience, hitting the main elements that make the genre one of my favourites. It has a limited weather system to be fair, but detailed cars along with their respective handling make up for it. The career mode is shallow, offering a limited progression system as you climb the ranks of rally racing. While the visuals are a bit dated, the gameplay remains tight, and the sense of speed on the licensed tracks keep the adrenaline pumping. A word of caution—racing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I picked up the game at a low price, thinking it was just another title on sale. I was pleasantly surprised; it turned out to be a fantastic game! It strikes the perfect balance—not too challenging, yet not too simple, either. It's a solid rally game that, while not a full simulation, serves as an excellent introduction for newcomers to the rally genre. The gameplay is very accessible and offers a fun, arcade-like experience. On the graphics side, I can't say it has aged particularly well;…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall: ⭐ 8/10 The good -Excellent rally driving physics for its age -Strong sense of speed and challenging stages -Good variety of surfaces and conditions -Solid career mode -Cars feel weighty and require proper throttle/brake control -More simulation-oriented than arcade The bad -Graphics and presentation are dated -Sound is fairly average -AI can be inconsistent -Some handling quirks, especially compared with newer rally sims -Limited modern conveniences Bottom line:…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the actual game is fun but unfortunately the game is built for ancient hardware and will stutter constantly even after disabling vsync and anti aliasing, installing dxvk just led to the game crashing or video freezing and the audio being stuck on a loop, for a 2 dollar game this will just be an unfortunate case of what could have been, maybe it would run better on my laptop with older architeture? i honestly dont know.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is the best entry on WRC you can get on Steam, the post ones are very inconsistent, sometimes laggy, sometimes buggy, sometimes both, and from WRC 7 onwards you get mostly the same game up until WRC generations. I swear, the same menus, the same things to do, everything is more of the same. The most recent entry on WRC Series is locked behind EA anti cheat, making it unplayable on Linux, it could be just sad, but they made it unplayable more than a year AFTER release, which made a lot…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WRC4 Review AND a useful hint: WRC4 is an older rally title that feels flat with the standard configuration data.mix file. The driving is far too arcade-like. However, if you install a realistic tire and physics mod from ModDB, the whole experience changes dramatically for the better. The controls might still not feel as tight as those in WRC 5–7 from KT Racing, but this small mod file provides a big improvement. The AI drivers do become a bit too overpowered with the mod, though, meaning…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A classic rally experience that still holds up. With 291.3 hours on the clock, this older rally title provides a really solid foundation for the off-road genre and is a great game to revisit. Physics & Handling Rating: It leans a bit more forgiving than modern hardcore simulators, but the weight transfer on gravel and snow still requires precise throttle control and a good understanding of how the car behaves under braking. | - - - | | 8/10 | | - - - | Optimization Rating: Being an older…
