Then I open up Wobbly Life of all things, find a fix for the controller problems i had in that game... and realize thats probably the fix for SoT. It was so easy. Enable steam input.

unlabelledView post →Games from the weekend 3: Wobbly Life I've described this before as "Grand Theft Auto for the kiddie set" - although, truthfully, there's actually no consequences for bad behavior. Which is great! The very first mission requires stealing a box truck, so lack of consequences keeps the stakes low. It's still in Early Access, so there are a few rough edges.
