It is short, but it is a 5 dollar game that still manages to provide value past those…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →On the Nintendo Switch eShop under Featured, there is a list called “Big fun, little price” I bought 2/3 of the games on that list for maybe $20 total and have been having a blast. Suika Game, Witcheye, Vampire Survivors, Lunistice, Wizorb, Gardener’s Path…all incredible games
unlabelledView post →A fun little game with an interesting core gameplay concept. If you play a lot of platformers (and you're using a controller) you probably won't find the game all that hard, but the low price and clear charm still make it a worthwhile buy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Witcheye offers two control schemes: mouse and controller, and unfortunately, neither work for me. Finishing the game requires choosing between two tedious options. If using a mouse, you have to constantly drag and release in the direction you want to go. This is annoying, tiring, does not allow for precise movement as advertised, and prevents the player from moving quickly enough to avoid hazards. This could be fixed by having the player click anywhere on the screen, and moving the character…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A green-skinned young witch named Mabel Syrup turns into a big, bouncy eyeball (why not a boob, liver, or buttock?) to recover her stolen magical ingredients in this incredibly novel take on the breakout subgenre. While smashable blocks are there in plenty, the majority of the challenge comes from the huge roster of foes and their extremely well-animated attacks, which increase in number and swiftness with the jump to hard mode. Normal is pretty dang easy on the whole -- almost casual in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple but brilliant little game that really deserves more love and recognition, one of a few titles out there that has genuinely made me smile for more than a minute during gameplay. I loved everything from the bare but addictive core gameplay gimmick to the soundtrack which perfectly compliments the individual tone and feel of each short but sweet level, though the strongest front of WitchEye is hands down the beautiful pixel art and the effort that went into making levels that are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of those games I would really like due to good soundtrack, nice graphics, being also short story game but It fails in It's horrible controls which feel like They were ported straight away from Mobile.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Witcheye is a simple, well-made 2D platformer with unique controls, that's executed very well with nice pixel art and a really good OST that reminds me of Sonic games. The gameplay itself reminds me of the Kirby series, and I liked the short length of the main mode, definitely recommend the game and it deserves to be more well-known than it is.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →36 minutes might seem like low play time if you're kind of a moron but if you're not heed my warning this game aint worth it collectathon stuff that is uninteresting and unchallenging gameplay would be more interesting if maybe the levels were designed to be tougher? you can only choose normal mode the first time you play so I don't know how it gets but the fact that you have to beat it on normal to unlock hard is a bad sign because I don't see myself ever playing this a second time etc etc not…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really good idea but poverly realized, unfortunatelly. In 90% of the stages it was like I can easelly escape fron enemies or traps just flying away from them, and that's why (I guess) the whole platform was designed for a classic runner hero, not a flying one. It's sad because boss fights are really funny and challenging, the path to get them... not so much.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You fling around an eyeball to kill things and for the most part it works.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little casual game with an impressively diverse amount of enemies and quirks over the levels. Cute, colourful sprite art and a simple gameplay hook that doesn't outstay its welcome. The only thing it's missing is a use for the collectables like buying a speed powerup or something.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hung out with friends tonight to dogsit for another friend and one of them was dicking around and playing random ass games I have on my Switch (and don't even remember buying) and played almost all the way through Witcheye in one sitting. That's a pretty cool game with a killer fucking OST!
unlabelledView post →not sure what to really call this game, as while its laid out and presented like a platformer, the entire gimmick is that you're a flying eyeball and can go wherever you want the pixel art is usually really clean and has a great use of colours and the soundtrack is genuinely fantastic, some absolutely outstanding tracks in here that caught me way off guard, highlight of the game for sure and i think is worth checking out even if you're not interested in the game itself i've seen some…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has that honest-to-goodness oldschool AMIGA game feel to it. It's really sweet that games can still have that kind of vibe in 2024!

(probably because you can keep your hand on your rod while blasting) Well, LISTEN, it's about time SOMEONE tells the truth around here because Y'ALL ARE NOT. This lil' eyeball blastin' around, the music, the controls - IT SUCKS! I get it, you're an indie developer, so we should be nice, well guess what STEAM - the reviews make no…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this in the sale but this game is just pure class. Nice 2D graphics, brilliant level design and so easy to play. Its just a lot of fun. Its a platformer/puzzle/eyeball roaming. LOL The controls work well on the controller, although you can use mouse if you prefer. I'm a controller player so suits me perfectly. Fantastic little game and especially at half price. :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can tell this game was crafted with lots of love and the upmost attention. And as always, practically any game published by Devolver Digital is bound to be a banger. This game is well worth the dollar on sale witcheye can't believe it goes so low (cue laugh track for clever pun).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a weird little goofy eye game with good music and a simple and engaging gameplay loop. a little challenge but it is quite relaxing in my opinion. kind of wish i can make the game resolutuion bigger but it is done on purpose for your eyes to not strain or whatever. solid game tbh
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super interesting game. Most fun on the third difficulty, which mandates all enemies killed, 1 hp, and with a time limit. Unfortunate it takes 2x playthroughs to get to that point - wish there was a code to enter that'd unlock it from the start! Control scheme makes it fun. Would be less fun if it was a "push any direction to move" kinda deal, although the Severe speedrun did wear out my thumb a little by the end haha. Great music, great graphics, and far more fun than I thought a game with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →wow do i have some thoughts. the soundtrack in this game is amazing. i absolutely loved it, and definitely plan to listen to it on my own time outside of the game if possible. the sound effects were also great, and the art is very appealing. as for the gameplay, i was not a fan. flicking the joystick to shoot in one direction is the main gameplay mechanic, and i was open to it in the beginning. however, the mechanic itself was not satisfying at all. some of the enemies were insufferable, and i…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a gem hidden in the Devolver catalog that deserves more players!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice, fun, short game. They packed a lot of different enemies into this tidy little adventure. Great soundtrack! Lots of collectibles, modes, and challenges to feast on if you like.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful to look at, Miserable to play - World 4 is when the flaws of the innovative movement begin to show.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun, and definitely worth the price! STELLAR OST, by the way!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun but not intended to be played with a mouse; it's a lot better with a pad.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is definitely a game I played. It is definitely a game that I purchased for 99 cents and it was worth at least some of those pennies. But why, in the year of our lord 2020 (when this game was released), did game designers think we want an underwater level.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great short game. Every level adds something new. If you enjoy platformers or platformer-adjacent action games, you really should check this one out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute and fun. A pinball arcade game with easy control- drag mouse to alter directions and click to stop are all you need to do. The highlight is the pinball rebounds after hitting the border, which could be a challenge/strategy to attack or avoid bullets. Each level is a few minutes long, it's a 2D horizon scroll game where the player enters room after a room. Occasionally it is locked and requires to clean all enemies, but most of the time you can play at your style and pace: either defeat…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Witcheye is a steam videogame featuring close-cropped level pinpoint ball designs in level critical points...towel wrapped controls need to get used too...but overall a pleading tough time in settling moods like a blow-dryer dipping in imagination somewhat of a standard procedure...wash-and-wear reasonably reducing...i give this game a 10/10 a glancing torch of light in witch fashion love the burrito master!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super fun, short, great music and really nice art. If you wanna go casual with a game this is THE game, also Devolver is behind the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super polished indie platformer with a unique control scheme. Definitely takes a minute to get used to but I found my movements rapidly becoming more fluid as I got used to using the controller in a new way. No-joke beautiful pixel art and the music is definitely worth using good headphones if you got them.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Witcheye, developed by Moon Kid and published by Devolver Digital, is a side-scrolling platformer that deliberately breaks away from the genre’s usual rules, replacing traditional movement with a system built entirely around direction and momentum. Instead of running and jumping, you control a floating magical eye that launches itself across the screen, ricocheting off surfaces and enemies with a physics-driven flow. It is an unusual concept at first, but one that quickly establishes its own…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved this game but sadly i couldn't achieve 100% achievements. Mainly the only thing i have against it and really pissed me off in some parts is the direction input, when you swipe, you may not get a completely responsive input, i really don't know how it works or why it does that, but yeah, it doesn't feel AS SMOOTH as it could be, but as i said, i enjoyed the game up until i started playing for the achievements post-finishing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reminds me a lot of Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Surprisingly good game, with a super unique concept. Never played anything like it. Highly recommended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Adorable art style and solid jams complement a unique gameplay and fun story. Six levels packed full of treasures to collect, challenges to conquer, and just about the cutest little bad guys ever seen for you to destroy as you bounce your way to taking back the magic ingredients stolen from you by a jealous sorcerer and his knight henchman. Positively delightful on the eyes (eh?eh?!) and ears with a good amount of challenge to it Witcheye does not disappoint.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i've never been happier
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great gameplay, tons of fun. Reminds me a little bit of Frozen Fruits with the constant movement of a spherical object, but definitely very different. Short levels with addictive gameplay.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Play it with your mouse FIRST, then try controller. Its more fun/ satisfying to use the mouse, surprisingly. This would be great with a touch screen, so if the switch version HAS that implemented, get it on switch. Other than that, worth full price, good music, ez gameplay. Its Fruit Ninja Mixed with Brick Breakers. People who are saying its like Kirby, it... kind of is in that its super easy yet still enjoyable. Biggest issue is the water world. The way the ball floats through the ENTIRE…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like the game. It has: - Good visuals - Good music - Clean and good looking UI (somehow this is a rarity nowadays) - Seems to have decent level design - Runs smooth Unfortunately, this feels like a trash mobile game port when it comes to controlling the ball. It makes me wonder if the dev was raised on an iPad. If you buy this game, make sure you install it and try it at least for 5-10 minutes before shelving it in your backlog so you can refund if you end up like me and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool game. Perfect for speedrunners and completionists. Very nice designs of mobs and bosses and an unique and fun way to play. A steal for its price. Good soundtrack.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A neat little game that you can easily play through in one sitting. You play as a witch trying to get her treasures back, so she transforms into a floating eyeball that bumps off of surfaces and follows the thief. The game gets kudos from me for the amazing enemy design; not only does the game incorporate a ton of enemies into a 90-120 minute game that all behave differently, but they are also all intuitive. One look and you know exactly how they behave, what you have to do to kill them and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a hidden gem.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It seems to have promise but this would have been better as a mobile game. To be honest, I think it’s because I have tried to play it with a mouse instead of a controller. It’s just so finicky to control. I’d say, based on the reviews, if you have a controller, get it. The graphics are amazing and the plot cute. But if you only have a mouse, even a fancy one, give it a pass, save your wrist the pain.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Moving is a bit awkward when you try to do something precise, so I'm definitely not going to try hard mode. But despite of that game is wonderfully executed, lovely and whimsical, and not too hard on normal. And music is pure diamonds to listen <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An overlooked gem. This game is absolutely fun and deceivingly challenging. Also, it has weirdly nostalgic feels all over that even makes me like it more. A solid 9/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice art and level design. Really cool seeing new things every single level. Definitely enjoyed the bosses too. About 2 hours to beat the game without extras. There is also a hard mode and a speedrun mode.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like it that much I decided to find all the diamonds and treasures. That already means something.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short and sweet game with good replayablility, awesome music and art, if you're looking for a quick retro style adventure this is a great option!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved the original mobile release and with more precise mouse controls and no fingers covering the view this is overall superior version.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Witcheye is an excellent and fresh take on the platforming genre that combines classic Nintendo-style level layouts with pinball physics and mini-golf-style locomotion. Excellent level and secret design work perfectly in tandem with clever enemies designed to keep you perfecting new movement strategies. Charming pixel art and an extremely catchy soundtrack round out the package. A pure action game that isn't bogged down by superfluous systems. A real hidden gem.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A simple yet polished super nintendo style action game with lots of enemies and slightly tricky controls to get used to, it's pretty short but nails the retro gameplay and has awesome music :) If you'd like to see what we're playing next with regular updates, or request to review a game, feel free to follow us at: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/35688508-Ember-Works-Reviews/
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →We are getting some more endings in Ducktales this week with a full stream dedicated to it! Then we have Witcheye starting off some Halloween themed games for October, and lastly the usual game on Friday.
unlabelledView post →"Witcheye" is a great and simple game that got me by suprise! It really looks and sounds amazing, the pixelart and worldbuilding is colorful and crisp, the OST just slaps, it's nostalgic and funky! Gameplaywise it's quite simple: You play a floating eyeball and you basically just move or stop in place controlwise. It is a little weird at first and feels a little basic, but the whole leveldesign is centered around it and everything fits in just nicely in the end (but some of the collectibles…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's good. The gameplay feels fresh because you have full mobility as a ball. The game is pretty (for the genre), and there's enough variety to keep things fun throughout the short campaign. Only a few sections require more precision than this kind of control scheme can provide, which creates some frustrating moments. Finding the collectibles and secrets is part of the fun, though some of them are so well hidden that I had to look them up on YouTube. 6/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think blocking you from starting on harder difficulties is a mistake. In my case, I won't be playing the game all over again after doing it once just because now it is a little harder. I would just done it on a harder difficult from start.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really nice little game, lovely artstyle and great music.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Didn't really care for this. The idea of a cross between a brick-breaker and a platform game is one that appeals to me but I got bored of this very quickly, and I didn't think much of the controls. A rare Devolver dud but I can't complain too much at £0.85.
