negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Introduction Windscape is developed by Magic Sandbox and published by Headup Games. With no surprise, the publisher entrusted another promising developer, since I found this game to be a perfect break from the “traditional” looks and feel of many RPGs played by yours truly for quite some time. Gameplay The initiatory journey in Windscape is partaken by a brave female protagonist which quickly turns from errand girl for her family into a fully fledged warrior for an entire fantasy kingdom. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Windscape is an ambitious title that looks to mix the old parts of games you love with the new trends of today. One part Zelda, two parts Elder Scrolls is a good way to sum up the formula for Windscape. Developer Magic Sandbox aims to accomplish this gargantuan goal in simple ways. However, filling the Steel Boots of these epic titles is far from an easy task and drowning in a Lake Hylia is more then likely if one doesn't tread carefully. From the onset Windscape is doing rather well for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is overall extremely meh. It's an okay timesink, but it feels like they got halfway through developing it and gave up or rushed, the last level is aimless and the game ends abruptly, there's a cool mechanic introduced in the second area that never gets used again, and there's MASSIVE glitches that should have EASILY been caught in QA, locked doors aren't locked, unpowered switches can still be used in most cases, you can sequence break in a few dungeons completely by accident. Most…

It’s times like this that make living on a farm truly blissful. Well, your five minutes of rest are up! There are plenty of responsibilities on and around the farm. Hop up my friends, let’s explore the world of Windscape. Windscape is a first person/adventure/RPG game where you play Ida, a young girl who lives on her parents’ farm. At the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I received this game from the developer during its very first version, and I've been continuously playing ever since. In short, do I recommend this game? Yes! However, if you are not a fan of Zelda-esque games, then I would probably look into it a bit more. Here are some pros: - Fun Story - Female Protagonist (I always find a female protagonist fun :P ) - Smooth gameplay and game mechanics - Crafting system is easy to use/understand, and that makes it fun to do - Cooking is fun and easy -…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When i first started playing the game I was surprise that it seemed to much better than the mixed reviews suggested. The graphics are quite nice, the game had charm. At first you are guided through the world, it is always clear what you are supposed to do. Even though the story is basic to nonexistent - the main problem of "islands are breaking apart and falling from the sky" is only mentioned VERY LATE into the game - playing was fun. The basic, uninspired combat was just a small part of the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This guy summed it up well. DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME. It's not even beta ready. The game just flat out sucks, the AI is all boring and you rarely see an enemy and all you have to do it is side step and hit it in a circle. There is no story. If you want a sub par walking sim, then this is up your alley. Not worth playing. Copied from: RainMaker I'd also like to add to the no story part, he's right. There's none. You're an errand boy the whole game, I haven't felt a sense of accomplishment the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not buy this game! - Glitchy. - Bad story. Generic. Boring. Ending without any explanation. - Very short. - Not challenging at all. - Boring enemies. - Boring crafting. - Nearly no impact of own decisions. - Boring riddles. To sum it up, it feels like the developer got bored of the game himself. To be fair, i liked the music and the style of the graphics.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game feels abandoned and barely finished, you only get two recipes to cook from the start and the same goes for the alchemy recipes, which you only need the healing potion... which has an ingredient you could only get in the first area. Speaking of areas, each area has less and less love put it them, and is smaller. The final area is just a small spiral more or less. The game has a vendor, but they sell the same items for the whole game. Just to prove how unfinished this game is you get…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am going to be extremely critical because I want this game to be good. I will also use The Legend of Zelda as a good reference point in several aspects because that is what the game wants to be like. TL;DR: It is a gorgeous game with great exploration and ideas that are ruined by flaws in combat, effectively no way of interacting with your environment or obtaining new items to allow you to complete puzzles or interact with your environment and exploring the world with too much walking…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Windscape has so much potential, but the game seems abandoned by the devs. A lot is broken or poorly functional. Bosses are bullet sponges with 2 mechanics each, all almost identical, the map and quest markers sometimes work and sometimes don't, the achievements are broken - requiring learning how to use a prior version of the game to get some -, and there is a lot left to want. Oh, enemies don't really have a brain and simply come at you with the same attack over and over again, leading to a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple conversation and one-sided errands are not fun either. The battle is also technically inferior. Some achievements are not working.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I paid $8.5 for this game because I got it on sale and I still don't think it was really worth it. I suffered through way more of this wannabe Legend of Zelda than I honestly should have. I got all of the acheivements and "experienced" the vast majority of the content that the game has to offer. After the first 30 min I kept playing because I really, really hoped that it would get better. It didn't. I'm not going to give this game the few compliments that I can before tearing into it with…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Full Disclosure: I received this game as a gift from a friend who somehow ended up with a spare key for it. I was left absolutely breathless when I then went to its store page after playing it for roughly 2 hours. My goodness, what a joke. Windscape is a barebones adventure game taking heavy inspiration from modern first-person RPG's like The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, but Windscape is no Skyrim. And I don't even like Skyrim! It features the most rudimentary forms of collection, crafting and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game became unplayable with a major bug. After unsuccessfully trying to resolve the issue myself I emailed the support for the game and never received a response.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was not very fun. Gameplay was buggy and felt lifeless. Got it in a bundle or free, so I didn't waste much money. I feel like I wasted my time though.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a shame. I had some hope for this game, but it's just plain boring. The combat is just monotonous. The AI is broken. The pause menu doesn't pause and there is no FOV slider anywhere... I told myself that I'll try the game until the first boss to see if anything interesting will happen, and sadly, there was nothing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun, visually appealing little Zelda inspired game for the first couple hours. Then you run out of equipment to progress to, and THEN you get to the desert. The desert is just awful, honestly. You get access to a couple new pieces of equipment, most of which I already had the materials to make as soon as I arrived. Then you're given a bunch of quests that involve running long distances across featureless sand. It was kind of funny how I got the tooltip about choosing your attacks based…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pre-review (might change/update when it comes out of early access, but this is my view on it so far) For being early access I am quite fond of this game as it is fun to play. At the moment not everything is unlocked yet but I’m sure that will come in time. I can see this game grow to a nice potential RPG adventure game. The graphics are stunning and colorful. Some of the details are so nice to catch, it takes you by surprise. Which is in my opinion awesome. I also do like the music but I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Half the achievements do not work! Feels like a prototype instead of an actual fully fletched game. Just save your money and play modded Skyrim again instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sadly even after leaving EA it still feels unfinished and overly basic. Do not buy
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Months ago, I brought this game for 6 bucks from Chrono.gg because I thought the game looks interesting. Fast forward to today upon completion of the game, I regretted buying this awful, unpolished game. TLDR: Don't buy this game at any price. It needs a lot more work to be good ad let the devs stopped work on this game. Enemies too annoying and tanky in later islands. Islands feels empty and boring. Things like change visuals don't work. Main Menu whenever starting the game: -Available:…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is too polished to believe that it's actually an early access game. I've experienced zero bugs - yes, seriously! Yes, girls and guys, this is exactly how an adventure game should be. The missions are really exciting, there is a variety of enemies, and the bosses are pleasantly original. For now, the only disadvantage I could find is that the game is too small. It took me 3 hours to finish it without even rushing. No worries though, more missions will be added in the next update.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like demo version of Morrowind. You can finish this game within 5 hours and there's nothing else you can do, no free roaming, no post last boss game and no reward for finishing the game because when you reenter the game after last boss it just boot you up to the last save before the boss. Every fight pretty much kite and run technique with bow or magic. Storyline is just there but with no impact. Farming for an items just go through a door, collect everything and then reenter same room (…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got to first town after fighting wolves and bees for roughly 3 minutes per enemy- desperately tried to live through the npc design even though everyone was gazing into my soul. Then I found some ladders. I climbed up them and it led to no where but a rooftop for some reason but I saw other rooftops to go to so I assumed parkour. Then I landed with too much momentum and slid down a hill into a permanently unescapable ditch. And yet, the bottom line that I've hit is this game is presented…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game is quite pretty, and the soundtrack is alright, but apart from that there isn't much here. The fights are rather simple and the combat feels very shallow, I went through the first dungeon and it was disappointing, honestly. The boss is super simple and easy, and if you use the bow it's too easy, and if you use melee weapons, it feels very monotone, block, hit, and if you see an enemy from distance you charge your attack to kill them, but blocking doesn't cause them to flinch and there…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very basic combat, feels half finished. Achievements also broken so you have to downgrade to get some apparently. Even though I got it cheap I still feel I paid too much.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man, I really liked certain parts of this game. The NPC's and the way they talk, boss fights, the graphics, music, story.. all good things. That being said, Windscape feels like it's still in beta. It's buggy, unpolished, and to be honest the story "ending" was quite disappointing. Half of the achievements don't even work in this game, and unfortunately the community-based workaround isn't working well either anymore. I'm an achievement hunter at heart and will likely forever have this game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game does not work - I can not interact with the main menu
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has potential, but several drawbacks prevent it from hooking me within the first hour. First of all I understand it is still early access, so these things may very well change in the future, but as it is now it's not worth the amount of money it charges. Within the first hour there are bugs which I've dutifully reported, and the general feel of the game is like trying to control a character while swimming in cotton or molasses. Every movement just feels very clunky, and the artwork…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed the first time playing it, it's like a first person of some kind of legend of zelda game. Only link is a girl now, i'm very curious to play this game till the end. Any plans for VR support? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtunspYnuAQ
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hello, I have completely explored everything this game has to offer so far, and let me say this game has ALOT of potential. I loved what I did play, I experienced very minor glitches, riveting battle, a beatuifully crafted soundtrack, secrets arcoss the land, and a decent storyline. I will go over the Pros and Cons of this game and give my general opinion. Pros: Beautiful Graphics - Everything looked great for cel shading and it ran very smooth at 60fps. I loved the way leaves fell from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is fun to goof off in, default fortnite skin of a story though. Was pretty excited for it to be finished but it seems they kinda gave up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this in a bundle. Looked cute, art style is nice over all, but the dead eyes of all the characters is a little off putting. Has a strong start as a simple but pleasant adventure. But slowly as you go, combat becomes more tedious, the space between places becomes more vast, and I just got so bored by the second world I was running past enemies to complete quests, and I didn't have it in me to finish.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Firstly I'd like to point out the fact, that I bought this game in a bundle and it was way cheaper than the price declared by Steam. And I just finished my Windscape playthrough and here's what I think. The game is okay. And so far that's it. The story is rather pleasant, though for my taste it progresses way too quickly - from simple quest in which we are pretty much a courier, through saving the prince, we are eventually becoming world's only hope. Is that bad? No, not really. But there's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Underwhelming. Simplistic and, at least for me, lacking charm or character to engage me. I unknowingly activated a boss which I had no damage type to hurt, with no way to run from the fight, and no way out but to force close the game. I was given an extra bundle key so price isn't really a factor, but I wasn't engaged enough I want to persist and play further.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its fine if it was in early access, buts its not and that 20$ asking price doesnt help 4/10 - color scheme hurts my eyes, green is SOOOOO GREEEN - combat is mostly just holding down left mouse key - on the slow side as you click on things and wait for a tiny timer as the task is finished
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was given a Steam key for the game and I really wish Steam had a "maybe" recomendation rating. My biggest problem with the game that nomral gameplay is easy enough for a child or even someone who's never played video games before, but the boss areas feel like arbitrary difficulty spikes. It's like the developer wanted to show off what they can actually do in boss areas, but in practice those areas end up being frustrating. E.g. the light puzzle (I hate puzzles that rush you and don't let…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite the design of the areas, that reminds me of Zelda's Wind Waker, the game offers not much beyond that. At the start, you get the feeling, that there is a bigger story here, but quickly you notice that it is another Early Access game that didn't sell well and was finished in a rush. Just put anything out and call it a day basically. Which is kinda sad in this case.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first island was okay, nothing too special but an adventure none the less. However, the second island you encounter in the game is an absolute train wreck. You'll be running back and forth to landmarks in this oversized desert without any enemies or unique terrain. Instead of this game just adding a bunch of land mass is really prefer if they took they current map and made it more interesting, maybe more dungeons? Combat was also pretty terrible, the game is too afraid to throw any…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Windscape is a charming indie title with clear influences from The Legend of Zelda and The Elder Scrolls franchise, with light questing and crafting elements, and a larger focus on combat and dungeons with simple puzzles and unique bosses. as much as i want to review this game positively, there are some issues i have that keep it from being recommendable in its current state. the first issue many will notice with the game is enemy ranged attacks. most of the ranged attacks from enemies home in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, but has a FOV in 16:9 that makes it unplayable and no slider in options. EDIT: I'll add that my play time is from an earlier EA build that did not have this problem. I have not played the game since before EA v6.0 except to start the full release and notice that the problem persists.

Those are not annoying, you just can see that they are there. This game is in Early Access and not finished yet, but it looks promising. My first fight felt a bit hard, I had to attack the first enemy a lot before it died with my cheap ass sword, but after I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not sure how this game got in my library, probably from humble bundle but I beg you, DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME. It's not even beta ready. If you want a sub par walking sim, then this is up your alley. Not worth playing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would Recommend this game for those who love Zelda, Free Exploration, and have a sense of Imagination. I am 12, and I love Zelda, so this game was easy for me to love. Though, it seriously could use some work. The game even ends on a "you were too lazy to make the ending good" feel. There are some Minor Glitches, like the Monsters too aggressive you get stuck on top of them XD, But the overall game has a good story, fun Dungeons, a little humor, and touching music. I personally liked this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So it's fun for a bit and somewhat charming, but ♥♥♥♥ this game. I am having the same issues as here https://steamcommunity.com/app/363950/discussions/1/1499000547489279917/, game won't save, gives no information that the mithril pickaxe doesn't replace the normal pickaxe but instead is separately useful entirely, Nice work on the game, but it's obvious this was an unprofessional passion project that someone gave up on.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Half of the achievements do not work, I'm a completionist, and it drives me crazy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Asking 20$ for this game is delusional. It is true that is nice and fun for a short time. Unfortunately, the gameplay is super limited and repetitive. I don't feel that this game has been "finished" - most of the time the map marker is pointing me to the wrong direction, the attacks are just super limited, fighting is just repetition without reward and the bugs.... are just annoying. The last straw is that the achievements are broken.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overly simplistic and filled with small bugs. Dull is how I'd describe the experience.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are much better (and reasonably priced) indie games out there. Generic, overpriced, half-assed indie game. The story doesn't make any sense to begin with. There is no art design whatsoever. The sound design is awful, the combat noise is horrendous and repetitious. MAYBE for 4,99 EUR it is viable, but only if you don't have anything better to do. Sorry mate.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For early access this game runs quite well. It's charming in a way, really love the visuals and sound. However, character's dialogue could use a little more pizzazz, but other than that: quite solid.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfinished, clunky, messy. And opening chests in the game is literal ear torture.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Morlan's shorts: This game looked quite promising but it appears to be abandon(ded) hope all ye who enter here.. It looks cute but that's it.. The world seems unpolished, the NPCs-baddies are too stupid/get stuck and are too easy to eliminate, the bosses are another mess with similar problems (can get stuck and you hit them without getting hit), the achievements are broken.. What more to say. I wouldn't go for it.. Don't waste more time reading lengthy reviews.. time is of the essence!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(Got it as part of the Jingle-Jam) A game in late-alpha / early-beta but is classified as a full game and is priced at least 4 times its worth. It is fun but has way too many problems for you to buy it. Maybe if you could buy it for 2-4 euros.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I revived this as part of the Yogscast Jingle Jam 2020. After 3 hours of play I have encountered a bug which has killed my save. Potentially forcing me to restart. I won't be doing that.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed this game, but it's much to short to be worth the regular price--I'm glad I got it on sale. The retro graphics are fun, as is the crafting system to upgrade your gear. The combat is simple but effective, and the dungeons offer some fun mechanics without being very complex. That said, I only got 7 hours out of it, and it is a very linear play without any real open world exploration. With more story and a longer playtime, this could have been a really cool game with a fun, retro…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is cool knowing it has one developer. Its bright and simple. A bit too simple maybe. I managed to find the tools I needed and defeated enemies with no sweat at all. Combat is literally block, swing, block swing, no worries. I explored the rocks for ore and glitched into the wall within thirty minutes... So before that, I would have recommended just for simple fun, but Id like to see a little bit more from the title. I think since I own the game now, Ill probably play it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice, unpolished, simplistic game for people who want to remember Zelda and have the patience for slow, simplistic combat gameplay. This feels like a student project, and maybe even was something like that, but for 4 euros one could spend a worse afternoon. This would have been epic in 2002.
