SMB was practically defined by its precision, and while I could never get the hang of THPS’s controls, they always made sense to me, at least. OlliOlli and its sequel use a supremely unintuitive system where flicking and rotating the analog stick activates jumps and grinds, while the A button is used to land correctly instead. It feels…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best game ever made. Awesome music.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Somehow they made it worse? I loved the first OlliOlli and I definitely loved manuals in this game, but everything else felt much worse in my opinion. The soundtrack in the first game pumped me up to play, this one is way more chill. Not bad, but it doesn't have the same energy. Graphics are pretty much the same, but the gameplay is much more pixel perfect than it was before; to the point it does not even recognize most tricks if you don't do it at the exact right time. Yes, it adds more…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game once you got used to the controls
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No one needs a new review of OlliOlli2 in 2021, but I hope the devs read this. I really wanted to like this game, and I played it quite a bit. At the end of the day though, I think I played it a lot out of spite, and not because I had any fun. Whenever I did great on a stage I was left with a feeling of "yeah, eff you game, I showed you" rather than feeling like I had a good time. And the final world, it's just impossible to anyone with normal reflexes. Additionally, while the game expects…

This one is from 10 years ago—OlliOlli2. Working on this game and being part of the incredible team at Roll7 was such an amazing experience.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't get it to run properly. The controls are unresponsive and laggy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cant remap the xbox controls, they are ♥♥♥♥, and im sick of restarting the level by mistake
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I fired up OlliOlli2 expecting some gnarly kickflips and radical combos, but what I got was an existential crisis disguised as a skateboarding game. The first trick I pulled off had such a perfectly timed kick-push-grind-revert that my soul ascended for a moment, only to plummet back down to reality when I immediately face-planted. The impact wasn’t just physical—it shook the core of my being, and I realized that life itself is just a poorly timed manual waiting to be botched. The soundtrack…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easy to pick up and fun to play. Later levels get much more difficult. A little less frustrating than the first one. The amateur challenges are more doable. Timing perfect landings has also been improved over the first game and the addition of reverts is welcome. Recommend for casual play as well as for people that are into games that will make them a little angry.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →skate 3 but side scroller really fun 10 out of 10 would fail another trick again
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →'OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood' is rad little game! As someone who hadn't really been into skating games since the early 'Tony Hawk Pro Skater' titles, this game definitely 'scratches an itch.' Although it's a side-scrolling pixel art title, 'OlliOlli2' has a myriad of skate moves that you'd execute in a cool way - seeking to give the impression of flicking out tricks with well-timed skill and coordination (albeit with your thumbs instead of feet). Gliding through levels is a blast and a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the sequel to a 2D retro pixel skating simulator/endless runner. Skate along and perform tricks on the way to build up your score. The developers tacitly admitted that retro pixel graphics are a terrible scourge on the gaming industry by replacing the graphics with simplistic/low poly style art in this game. PC gamers will immediately be insulted by the console peasant childrens toy gamepad prompts, despite this being on PC. The game does run in 4K. The controls for the tricks…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unintuitive controls and frequent input-drops. Looks and feels great when it works, but it rarely does.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abysmal controls and even worse performance. Timings are ridiculously inconsistent. Borderline unplayable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a huge fan of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series so I thought I'd give this game a try, too, and I really like it. At first I was sceptical if a skateboarding game could be fun in 2D. But this game proves it can actually be a lot of fun. You can make many combos and even finish a whole level in one combo which is very fun. At the beginning I needed to adjust to the controls but once I did the game was very rewarding.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →terrible controls 2.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game recommends controller but doesn't support any controller natively. Absolute garbage.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played the entire game a long long time ago and then rebought it and replayed it some on Steam and it's still a wonderful game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The dark souls of skating games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The OlliOlli series are games I really respect, but don't exactly enjoy. Before THPS 1+2 remaster came out, the latest Tony Hawk games from Activision were pretty terrible, and you'd have to go to the older games for a fun experience. OlliOlli isn't exactly like the Tony Hawk games and instead challenges you to get high scores and land tricks without falling by tapping the A button right as you land. It was a skateboarding alternative that is pretty good, but very challenging and hard for me…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sick. I originally bought this game just to gain steam points during a steam sale, but i fell in love w the game. If you love skateboarding, you need to download this!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if you like skating, and hard games, you'll probably love this
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →im bad at the game but its still pretty epic
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not recommending due to poor controller support. It is unfeasable to have to unplug other devices in order to play the game, unfortunate as the first game was quite good.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game, and the first OlliOlli, are fantastic. The second one improves the same formula even further by adding more tricks and combo options. Wonderful replay value and a great time for people interested in arcade style games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its basically the same horrible, wonky controls youve already seen in the first game. Not worth the price, even though they polished it somewhat.

I recently picked it up again on Steam, it’s everything I remembered and more. I should confess, I’m a huge Tony Hawk fan, and I’m sad that we may never see another game like that.…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's just too hard.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →does not run on linux, tried with native linux version and through proton. Instantly shuts down when opening. I have checked protondb for help without success.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is really neat and controls well and the tricks look accurate! but i'm not really in a time of my life where twitch action games are appealing, but i think it's cool which is why i am still giving it a thumbs up
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A sequel that cleverly innovates on a concrete-solid foundation.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →OlliOlli2 was the game that reminded me I love arcade games ❤️ awful what was done to R7 but so glad to hear you’re back at it
unlabelledView post →OlliOlli2, was my entrance to the series and it does not dissapoint. With an awsome soundtrack and slick gameplay you can't go wrong with this one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →hehehe skirrrrrrt, good game funny haha moments
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ill just get right to it. The biggest problem is the active landing system. While pressing a button as you land for a grading system on your landing stance sounds really good in practice its awful in practice. Especially since it requires moving your thumb off the joystick which messes up your flow for readying stick inputs for your next trick. I just cant recommend when theres better playing arcadey skate games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(I have a crap ton of hours in this game on my PlayStation Vita and Switch, so the hours on here don't reflect my experience) Scroll down. Yes, you reading this, scroll down. You see that? That one negative review that compares this to a "mobile" game? Yeah, I'm asking you to look at this so you know what a virgin looks like. "But Parker, are you saying that person down there with their own subjective opinion on a game you like hasn't had sexual relat-" NO. HE IS A VIRGIN IN THE SENSE…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game didnt actually close when i closed it so now I have 18.5 hours when in reality i only played for 10 minutes
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Plays like a mobile game. I can't really see why anyone would play this on PC.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →extremely satisfying if you like chasing combos and high scores
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →perfect game to chill, and play. nothing more nothing less
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finally! The ♥♥♥♥ sequel to the ♥♥♥♥ game that nobody asked for!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"do a kickflip!"
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is falsley advertised as having "Full Controller Support" I have both a PS4 and an Xbox One controller. This is complete bullocks as it will not recognize either of my controllers. I had this same issue with the last game and would have hoped that they fixed the issues with this entry, nope. Inexcusable for a 15 dollar sequal to a title which already had technical issues. The game is pretty much unplayable without a controller
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sk8 and destroy
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →OlliOlli2 is a marked improvement over its predecessor. The controls feel noticeably more responsive and the level design is definitely better. That being said, the level design still isn't amazing. Some levels are great fun to play and others are an exercise in tedium. A lot of the levels are very cluttered: the foreground and background blend together quite often and you'll have a really good run going, only to hit one stupid thing you genuinely thought wasn't part of the map. For me,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I DID IT, I BEAT YOUR ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GAME, YOU MANIACS.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very repetitive game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So, I am really disappointed in this pc port, not only am I suffering huge stuttering issues that make the game completely unplayable, but also have controller lage as well. After playing olliolli2 on my psvita I am saddened to say I cannot recommend this pc port since its hot garbage for some PCs
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a good game but my god is the design in the last set of levels bad. There's so much visual clutter you can't tell what is in the foreground and background. In all of the other levels it was very clear what was a grind and what was land since they have different colored rails but the last set throws in random buildings that are ambiguous. Other than that though, the controls and feel in this game feel very good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i played skateboarding games and this is one of my favorites because its very tricky and its fun in this 2d game!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been waiting for this one to go on sale. Now that it has I am extremely happy with my purchase. This is a very well-polished game. Think of it as more of an arcade style game that tests your reflexes. If you are use to Tony Hawk's controls, I feel like it will make the learning curve just a little more challenging!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The controlls are terrible. It felt like my hands were stupid, trying to adjust to this strange button configuration...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →14 hours in and i have 100% it. great game, but not nearly as tough as the first one. namely, "every trick in the book". i was expecting to have to do each trick in all 4 stances like in the first game, but didn't have to. thankful, if anything.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Happy 11th birthday for OlliOlli2!!! Such a fun arcade skate game by Roll7 #olliolli #olliolli2 #skate #skateboard
