negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When it works it's a fun twist on a bridge builder style game. When it doesn't it's infuriating. The behaviour of the physics simulation (your structures and the vehicles) ranges from inconsistent to nonsensical. It feels like an off the shelf physics engine was used without much thought. So much of a game like this is its physics simulation, but it doesn't feel like an appropriate amount of development effort was spent on that area. Building is unpolished, but does get the job done. When…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When Material Science Goes Wrong. I am convinced that the physics engine in this game does not differentiate between tensile, compressive and shear strength. I'm also a bit leery of the physics themselves, which appear to treat all flexible materials as rubber bands and which react suspiciously to certain circumstances (ie: using a pulley to form an inside bend seems to unreasonably increase line tension). The materials are unrealistically weak and the terrain/available material is often…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's similar to poly bridge game. It's a bit different in a way that you build ski lifts instead of bridge and you can see people die from your mistake. People spill blood and snap their bones when they die so that's a plus for both gore lovers and haters because it gives a valuable lesson that silly mistakes mean dire consequences. It gives somewhat more fun to think every time when you make a mistake, you are killing an innocent NPC who had been a good person throughout his/her life. No…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really can't be bothered, along with 80% of the playerbase. It should be a good game, starts off as a good game and is enjoyable but from the second area onwards it gets punishing and frustrating. Primarily because the wood planks you are given to build with are so weak and everything you build just snaps. And why wood to build a ski lift frame, surely metal would make more sense? At best it is an amusing mobile game that after a short while outstays it's welcome, with only 20% of people…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game description doesn't match with the game. It's just a sandbox!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When Ski Lifts Go Wrong - well, considering the damned thing crashed every time I tried to run it, I wouldn't know.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After playing Bridge Constructor Medieval, I was starting to become a bit wary of physics-based building games. My experience with that game wasn't the best, but When Ski Lifts Go Wrong has shifted my perception entirely. The gameplay here is quite solid. There are plenty of ways to beat levels that test your imagination and logical reasoning skills. It doesn't feel like there is a "correct" way to beat a level in its entirety and that there are various ways to achieve the same end goal.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's easy to get right into the game if you're already familiar with any kind of bridge construction game. It's fun, easy to look at, challenging and frustrating. The levels get really hard and they test your wits and building capabilities. There's also a workshop level creator where you can create and publish your own levels for other players to play, or play other players' custom levels. This is where you can get creative and make a ski lift scene of your very own. Once you have the game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When Ski Lifts Go Wrong is a neat little physics puzzler with some genuinely satisfying solutions. That said, the controls can feel fiddly and the challenge spikes get frustrating fast. Fun in short bursts, but it never fully hooked me.

Gameplay loop gets repetitive quick, repeating obstacles and unreliable physics make this an unenjoyable experience after a couple of hours. Only thing keeping me occupied were the challenges but these got rather annoying due to the whacky physics. Got it for under 1€ out of a bundle but I still wouldn't recommend it especially for full price. (4.2/10)

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun. Just challenging enough. Nice little bridge constructor type game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →From what i've played so far, this is a fun game. Its definitely the type of game i'd choose if I need to stay in a zoom call with my camera off.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first glance it looks strange. Ski lifts?! Why would anybody want that?! Then you try it... Then you realize it is possibly one of the greatest games to have ever existed. You load up a map and tell yourself that you're only going to play for 10 minutes, then, 4 hours later, you forget that you left the stove on. The house burned down hours ago and the family never had a chance. The cat? Gone too sadly. But it doesn't matter, because the PC still works, and you have When Ski Lifts Go…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →only recommended if you like bridge-building style games, got all achievements in my 37 hours of gameplay
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When Ski Lifts Go Wrong is a game where "bridge builders" go on holidays to a sky resort and start messing around everything... Nothing special graphically and not a crazy invention idea. But I have fun playing it, specially when everything go wrong. Fully recommend it, but wait and pick it on a sale, since the normal price is a big high for what you get from it.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When Ski Lifts Go Wrong is a physics-based puzzle and construction game developed by Hugecalf Studios and published by Curve Games. The game centers on designing and building ski lifts, bridges, ramps, and other structures to transport skiers safely across challenging mountain terrain. While the concept might initially sound simple, the game gradually reveals a surprisingly deep engineering sandbox where creativity, physics simulation, and careful planning come together. By combining…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game is mostly ass, just a bad copy of poly bridge and you cant even change the language
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The insistent repetition of "Legion Gaming Community - When Ski Lifts Go Wrong" in boring Legalese is actually pretty damn funny.
unlabelledView post →I am unable to continue playing this game due to a real life ski-lift accident which dismembered 3 of my legs and 2 of my arms. A fleeting glance at the name even sends me down a slippery slope.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good concept, the first person camera view and slow-mo for when things go wrong was a fantastic surprise, the levels where you control a snowboarder are a bit baffling and not implemented quite smoothly enough to feel right (although I am playing on Linux, which could be a factor... ..and the tutorials are painfully, excessively hand-holdy. ...But, if I get annoyed, I can just skip them for the rest of a level once I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing. If it's their first game, I'd call it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is straight up not worth the money its listed for on steam. Got it from a humble bundle a while ago but even from that it isn't worth playing. It feels like its suffering from an identity crisis randomly including stunt jumps and snowmobile driving. The graphics aren't well stylised compared to other indie titles that are able to pull off lowpoly very well and the UI screams mobile game. The name itself is awful too, apparently it used to be called "Carried Away" which is much more…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sort of like bridge building games but building a ski lift and half the levels have a mechanic where you control the guy skiing / biking / snowmobiling which was a good deviation from the regular building games. Instead of building a ramp all the way, you could floor the pedal and fly off of half a ramp, very fun sections of the game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a bridge builder, but with ski lifts and gondolas. And then you can build bridges and jumps for skiers and snowboarders and more (and even control them somewhat). It's fun, it's well polished, and it plays well. The tutorial does a great job of introducing the gameplay and I have a feeling there are more mechanics I haven't even seen yet. The difficulty does ramp up pretty quickly, but there's nothing stopping you from cheesing it and building whatever works. It's a tough sell at $15, but…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is plenty of rewarding construction on offer in Where Ski Lifts Go Wrong. The game is sure to test your mental agility, and there’s a good challenge in balancing that with consideration of the agility of the characters you have to transport.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this indie game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Skilift go WEEEEEEEEE
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the many clones of the Bridge Builder, but it tries too hard at being different and ultimately fails mechanically. There are good games in the genre, this is not one of them.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →0/10 too many indie games that don't stick the landing. This is why triple A is more consistent. For every 100 indie games you might get 1 good game. For every 100 triple A you will get at least 50 good games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decided to play till I got stumped. That didnt take long. Neither an architect nor an engineer
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →spam left and right while pulsing ctrl (like, 0.5 seconds pulse) and the character goes FLYING!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You already know if bridge-buildery type games are your thing. If they are, Ski Lifts is a good addition to the collection.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"When Ski Lifts Go Wrong" is a construction puzzle game. I hate to go against the crowd on this but, candidly, this game feels finicky. A proper construction can be hard to predict and requires testing. A bad construct can become a perfect one by a single micro adjustment. There's also not a ton of options to build with. The camera and controls are clunky. There's a lot that could be improved here. There's also a ton of great competitors on the market. I recommend a pass.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game made me sell my skis
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun physics game. My only complaint (and it's very, very minor) is that the riders/skiers are awkward to control at times making a level more about the skill of the rider/skier (user) than the contraption you built.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I once went skiing and this happened to me in real life, so I no longer ski. The game is fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting take on the "bridge builder" type game. Making ski lifts and being able to ski/snowboard down your own creations is very fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Polly Bridge but skiing. I love it! (I smashed a gondola and it exploded killing 3 people lmao)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is great, and actually has more features than I even bargained for. For example, it has levels where you control the skier as well as the construction. Charming little game, and even has some mild blood. Definitely worth the price (at sale price it's a steal). Edit after a few hrs playing: Confirmed, it's a good game. A lot better than Polybridge.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Murphy's Law still do apply to Ski Lifts.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game used to be amazing, before it was either bought or more likely stolen by Hugecalf under a very scrupulous looking contract. They got the game, changed the game, killed the game, changed the name. They are not to be trusted.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An adorable, easy-going bridge builder where you can launch little dudes on snowboards into the stratosphere. All the goodness of a bridge builder with the added benefit of these little suckers splat good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The usual bridge builder but with nice convenience features like being able to easily move existing structures and drag two points at a time from existing framework. Everything from slight movements of vertices to complete redesigns are much easier than any other bridge builder I have played. Being able to place additional anchor points and anchor to the environment instead of fixed points is also nice for creativity. The stress indicators and highlighting which pieces broke are also nice for…
