If you picked this up for the first time with no context beforehand, you wouldn't be able to tell this was an old title. They basically try to broaden the formula of katamari 1 but it doesnt work, and makes the game play tedious and boring. Things like 'keep your ball on fire', or only roll up big objects etc. Just not fun and a waste of money! It's at its best when it sticks to the katamari formula but it happens so rarely its not worth it!

The only bad things I gotta say is the 100% completion problem and the campfire level (the most notorious one) the campfire one shouldn't allow your katamari to extinguish by itself without water, that's just a ticking bomb that requires constant feeding. The physics have been noticeably reworked to encourage much faster more daring risks that need you to always be moving forward because moving to the side or backwards drastically slows your momentum, and while that takes a while to get used to it feels much more satisfying to get a grasp on especially with the goals being much tougher this time around. Any other changes than that I could not say, just more of your irresponsible father having you roll up objects and make new stars/planets.
