For one, they removed the score system which ruins the entire gameplay loop that made the originals work so well to begin with. The controls are far less precise than they did in the original, making the game harder to control. This game also looks far worse than it did on GameCube, lacking most of the graphical effects. Though having a circular gate for the control stick would be fine, the original floors were designed to be played with a square gate, like the original games had. Consequently, boosting tech is non-existent, the fastest movement is holding directly up, and floors that should not be hard are hard for such a BS reason.
