positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man, what can I say about this — almost forgotten and obscure — gem? Mark of Chaos is special to me, and still holds a unique place among the RTS games — and games in general — that I've played. It is gritty and grim, dark and heavy, capturing the Warhammer aesthetic properly. If you've played the other ancient, hidden gem, MYTH: The Fallen Lords and its sequels, with their heavy and bleak atmosphere, you can't help but get flashbacks from Mark of Chaos. If you're fed up with all these modern…

He takes you to the mall and buys you this game. I was hooked for life on RTS, strategy games AND warhammer because of this game. I've seen some reviews saying to take total war over mark of chaos and while they are correct technically by modern standards, I do disagree slightly. Nostalgia and just crazy foresight this game has aside. If you're just…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →legit one of the best rts ever made. Features and customization that were way ahead at the time and it flew mostly under the radar. Even now, it has army unit customization elements that nobody else replicated.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →13 year old me thought this was the coolest game thing he'd ever seen. 33 year old me agrees.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dawn of War brought me into Warhammer 40k and Mark of Chaos brought me into Warhammer Fantasy. Simple as that. Im so glad this game found its way into Steam! Works just fine. Please add achievements and point shop items. To me sons of Sigmar! For the Empire!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Before Total War Warhammer, there was Warhammer Mark of Chaos. Like how Dawn of War is the game that get me into 40K, Mark of Chaos is the one bring me to Fantasy Battle. It's not the greatest Warhammer video game ever, far from it. It have some problems that never got fix. So many promises never been fulfill. But it still the most fun and faithful adaptation of Warhammer Fantasy Battle at the time. I love it so much i bought both the GOG and STEAM version. And i believe, if you love the Old…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Have hundreds of hours in this game. An incredible experience. Before there was Total War: Warhammer, Mark of Chaos was showing us what was possible. Still fun and engrossing today as ever.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game from my childhood that I never forgot about. It's a solid game even today.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You're beautiful as the day i lost you
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this one endlessly back in the day and it was a fun nostalgia trip going through it again. It walks an interesting line between a tabletop warhammer campaign, a total war game and a narrative game and doesn't do any of them spectacularly but balances them very nicely, giving you a good bite of each. This game would often sit in the back of my mind when playing Skyrim since the score composer was the same and so many of the same phrases in the music go across both games. Every loading…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just a very good rts and sadly the best i have played so far. Its not as overloaded with stat improvments as Total War which is making the game more compact. The lore is also at its peak in my regards with the end times not anywhere to be seen.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the most underrated and best RTS games ever made! Before the Warhammer Total War trilogy, we had this game! This game also still has one of the most legendary trailers ever made! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNFGJQIW5ZM

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the game that got me into Warhammer, it was amazing for its time and still holds up decently today. Really appreciate the upgrades to support ultrawide and 4k. The cutscene videos could have used an upscale as well and the animations seem a bit low if you zoom in very close but everything else is ok. The game is worth it and I am glad I got the chance to play it again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just as I remember , awesome
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Would have recommended, but all my saves dissapeared out of a sudden...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow what a blast from the past, I even read the book as a kid. Great RTS game in its day and still holds now. If you are looking for a Warhammer RTS with a story driven campaign and great customization/army builder this will be a steal for you. Definitely from a time before instant gratification became the norm and truly a handcrafted experience.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game brings back everything i love about warhammer fantasy and brings back good memories from childhood
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have a lot of nostalgia for Mark of Chaos, I played it first in 2008, playing it on the xbox 360 on a screen that was barely wider than a current day warhammer codex on its side, alongside my younger brother as we took turns playing campaign missions all in the name of Sigmar. I absolutely love this game to bits, so seeing it surprise drop on steam has been a fantastic surprise for me, and It’s been so long since I first played it, I barely remember the story for it, so playing through it,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game, while obviously there is a certain bit of nostalgia, i'd pay good money for a new expansion on this games basic principles, there is a lot of possibility for depth.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man, what a pleasant surprise. This game was straight-up epic and ridiculously ahead of its time. Yeah, the graphics look oldschool today, but back when it dropped it must have blown minds(it blow mine). The sheer scale of the battles, the massive unit sizes, the way you could actually command huge armies in real-time, troops fighting on walls mix of interesting missions a story behind it cringe but awsome voice actors from other titles mainly Dawn of War… it felt revolutionary for a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →*Warhammer: Mark of Chaos – Gold Edition (Classic)*, developed by Black Hole Entertainment and published by SNEG, is a real-time tactics game that aims to recreate the spectacle of Warhammer Fantasy warfare while simplifying many of the traditional systems associated with strategy games. By removing base-building and resource management almost entirely, it directs all attention toward battlefield engagements, where formations clash, spells erupt, and monstrous units dominate the chaos of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →With the most amount of respect due to the people who grew up with this game, this game sucks (I love it and would highly recommend it)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good RTS with RPG elements, I like these kind of games. Fair warning though: you can't scale the UI, meaning tooltip text on big screens will be pretty much unreadable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →legendary classic game with the orc and dark elf story added on i highly recommend it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have so many fond memories of this game, one of the first RTS I played in a console and I loved it, I'm so happy it's on Steam.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game may not be the most fun or the most visually pleasing Warhammer game, but it is perhaps one of the most faithful video game adaptations of the franchise of its time. Unlike more recent adaptations where devs have more liberty, this one is a rather literal replication and reimagining of the original tabletop miniature game. Things like the way HP and models are calculated, as well as the stats and traits of the units, are like directly from the tabletop game. The game also allows…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This totalwarized Shadow or the Horned Rat reprise is to modern CA's Total Warhammer is what an 80s power metal album cover is to a current-year rendition thereof by a reasonably skilled and non-research-averse deviantartist who was given their first professional assignment. Linear campaign. Limited forces. Mandatory conservative play. Old Total War unit on unit impact. Duels (poorly implemented but cool). Art that doesn't scream "LOOK, WE ARE SO METAL!! DID YOU SEE HOW METAL WE ARE?! DID YOU…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looks like Total War Warhammer but it's not open world so you battle level by level with just some optional battles from time to time. You also don't need to manage any resources besides money. Has 3 campaigns with 3 different races. In the humans campaign you go back and forth with an elven army and sometimes fight together. Very easy and little challenge on Normal difficulty, where you can go through the game without losing any units and getting enough money to upgrade the units that you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game runs very smooth and still feels as fun to play as 20 years ago
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This has always been one of my favorite games. Pulled out the disks, no go on Windows 11, went to google a solution, and here it is video modernized and all on Steam. Cool.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great classic game. No real graphical improvement's. I hope they add achievements to this like Dawn of War considering its 2026, with older titles in the franchise having them.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →озвучка если что на русском сохранилась, хоть в описании этого и не указано
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game ran so modern games could sit back and take the easy way. that and the nostalgic feels.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh i love this game as a kid and its been so long since i played it on xbox...... reliving good old days atm! Faith, steel and gunpowder!! all we need now is remaster of Aliens vs predator extinction!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its amazing how well this game holds up
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a blast from the past. Played this game many years ago and way before Total War Warhammer was a thing. If you choosing between them, take Total War. But this game was needed back then! I am so happy they re-released this gem on steam. Thanks for this nostalgic memory!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →when there was no total war warhammer then it would be amazing but for now there is no point in playing this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game from GOG a couple years ago cause I didn't expect steam to EVER have it. I liked it then and I like it now. It runs perfectly fine just like the GOG version and my ONE wish is that this game had working online multiplayer. Gem of a game that makes me wonder what could've happened if it was an even bigger success in the past. Like would we have gotten the undead as a faction? Dwarfs? I dunno but it would've been cool. Only downside is the Orc campaign is pretty bad due to Dark…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The GOAT (for me. You cannot change this opinion) of Warhammer games. For the TL;DR: I'm putting an 8.2/10 for this game. But I'll go into an analysis and even point some flaws despite liking the game. The graphics are actually pretty good for the time. They kinda hold up even now. In addition the game has some pretty good-looking models. What I like the most is the campaign. First of all, the story has 3 different sagas you can follow: Empire, Orks and Chaos. Story-wise, standard staff for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had been wanting to play this game again since I was little. Thank you, it works fantastically!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Genuinely love it, this was Total War: Warhammer before it was cool. I personally think this still holds up today, there are a few bugs and I don't think the single player skirmish mode works (if it does I can't seem to work out how it does) but it's a fun game all the same, with great stories across all the campaigns, and some lifelike models with good combat.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Achievements would be awesome.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thiss game is almost as old as me. And yet it still delivers! Good artefact from old era of games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finally i've grabbed a copy of this game. The feelings are almost the same that were in place when I run the game decades (!) ago. Strictly recommended. If you don't have the same vibe or have never tried MoC before - step gently but give it a try.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is my first time playing this game, and I have to admit that for a game from 2006, it plays really well. Of course, the graphics and voice acting are clearly from 2006, but the gameplay can easily hold its own against the Total War games. Building up my little army reminds me of Kingdom Under Fire and gives the impression of assembling my own group of mercenaries. I love that you can assign heroes to units; this solves the potential problem of characters having excessive durability (a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A few teething problems and it hasn't registered some of my playtime but this is definitely one of the best RTS games of its time arguably all time if we are on about pure RTS, picture Total War Warhammer but just the battles and a bit different camera thats this game and obviously worse graphics but for the time great, it even had a really great Xbox 360 port that ruled my childhood 10/10 get this game if tour a fan of RTS.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One beautiful nostalgic ride. A Total War warhammer game before CA took a crack at it, with a surprisingly fun campaign and mechanics that, while rudimentary, are great fun to play with. There's a lot of character to this game. It is dark, gritty and captures well the feeling of the warhammer tabletop franchise. Its a great game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warhammer: Mark of Chaos — Reflective Impressions Coming into Mark of Chaos, it feels like something finally clicks—not just for Warhammer, but for PC strategy games more broadly. After spending time with earlier titles, this is the point where it feels like the formula starts to come together. The controls, in particular, stand out immediately. They’re not perfect, but they feel right in a way that earlier games didn’t. There’s a level of responsiveness and clarity that makes it easier to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →weak ai, doesnt know how to use walls, crap fps on top specs if battles have more than 10 squads. What's 'Gold' about this?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Better than Sex
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have some fond memories of this, the first warhammer game I ever played. The unit customization and persistance through the campaign is top notch! Probably even better than many games made today. I've only played a short time so far, but am enjoying it a ton. Anyone on the fence, I'd recommend giving it a try.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →classic warhammer love
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →such a good old school game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very fun also MAY CHOAS TAKE THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I actually remember not enjoying this as a kid - I can't remember exactly why - but I really enjoyed playing through the campaigns on this re-release. It captures the Warhammer Aesthetic really well, and in a time of not-many classic RTS games being out, it scratches an itch. It had a lot of unique ideas for it's time.
