positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game puts the ok in Turok. It puts the bore in cerebral bore. Have people made those jokes, yet? It's alright. I never played this one as a kid so I have no nostalgia for it. I also can't really judge it as a remaster since I have no frame of reference. What I can say is if you told me this was just an unfinished N64 game that was remastered, I'd believe that. Maybe that would make more sense. The scaffolding is there. You can see a vague shape that resembles a Turok game. But it's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is last Turok of its original franchise, it was ported for PC with its remaster verison it's very great, simples and easy to play, no hard puzzles as the Turok 2 had people says the game follow half-life 1's style and i agree, mostly on first missions of game you have to enter silo nuclear and those are some scientists, a bit similiar to half-life as well you have to shoot some soldiers enemy is just other continuation of Turok series and you will enjoy this as well if you liked all…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The multiplayer is missing, this is a problem that needs to be fixed, if they ever do I will change my review. This game is not worth 30 dollars without it. If you can get it for 15 at the most it's well worth it. But honestly the lack of multiplayer for me is a HUGE disappointment. Turok 3 had a really really cool multiplayer that gave players so much control over the rules.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Before moving on to another time-consuming game, I want to go back to an old love of mine: Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion! 💚 I haven't tried the remaster yet, so I'm excited! (I wonder if the old cheat codes still work...)
unlabelledView post →It's easier to explain my love of Turok 3 by reflecting on the first two games and the tedious problems each of them had that Turok 3 does not. Turok 1 mostly only suffers from two issues it's clunky platforming and terrible secret locations to hunt down. Lots of the secret locations are behind fake walls you can pass through, some with no way of knowing you were supposed to check said wall. Others so insane there are secret walls within the secret walls! Sometimes even lava pools you must dive…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Almost finishing Turok 3 again. #Val’tyFPS draws more inspiration from the first game, but there are a few things from Turok 3 that I’ve added to Val’ty, like energy bridges that need to be activated with a button, and warp spheres that must be shot. no visual and sound fx yet, but already works.
unlabelledView post →The inspiration behind Val'ty game: Jump Pads > Rise of The Triad Teleportation sphere > Turok 3 Secret keys (not in demo) > Turok 2 Sniper Mode > MDK Level Design > Turok and Chasm the Rift Sidekick > Daikatana Machine Gun > MDK and Kiss Psycho Circus Main Menu > Playstation demo discs
unlabelledView post →I sort of liked it, but you really should have a fondness for weird, obscure 6/10 shooters from the early 2000s. Otherwise, the safe bet is to stay away. This is not a must-play buried classic. This is not even a "we have Half-Life at home" situation - this is "we have Blue Shift at home." In the beginning, this game tries to at least be somewhat interesting, then it becomes more amateurish with each passing level, with baby's first shooter mistakes and everything. And then, by the end, they…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very good remaster for a bad game, and painfully short when compared to Turok 1 and 2. ridiculous pricing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I feel it needs to join that weird pantheon along with the likes of Turok 3 and PO'ed for 'games that no remastering was going to save, but it's good that they tried anyway'. It's an important piece of game history, even its place was 'the game that almost killed Tomb Raider for good'.
unlabelledView post →This is a really polished remaster, especially after having gone back and looking at gameplay from the original version for N64. The game is definitely shorter than I remember it being, but I picked this up on sale so I didn't mind as much. If Nightdive could do this kind of treatment for Perfect Dark, but also keep in the multiplayer, that would be a game I would really like to see brought back to life.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Whilst Turok 3 isn't as great as the first 2 games, it's still very worth playing if you wanna see how the trilogy ends. Though, with the multiplayer component being omittied, I don't think they should being charging $30 USD for this (unless they plan on adding it back in later, which I highly doubt at this point), best to buy it on a sale. Hopefully Turok: Evolution gets remastered as well.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had to return this because it wasn't fun at all, compared to the first and second.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Turok 3 is NOT a 30 dollar game. Turok 2 is literally better and cheaper, go play that. WTF Nightdive. It's a decent remaster, don't get me wrong, but nah, it ain't worth 30 dollars.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Astrid, what was your favorite game that came out this year?" Me, looking at all the games I've been playing which are from around 2005 because I'm a speedrunner: "Uh... Turok 3?"
unlabelledView post →I was always under the impression that turok 3 was the "bad" one. that may have been true on the 64 BUT THIS GAME RULES
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A bit different from Turok 1 and 2, yet still a quite enjoyable run‘n‘gun-retro-shooter. If there is one game franchise that exactly shows you how first-person-shooters have evolved from the mid- to the late nineties, it‘s the classic Turok trilogy. At it‘s core Turok 1 was basically one of the very last Doom clones: There was barely a story or given reason for anything happening in the game, and all you did was navigating huge, quite complex maps with the sole purpose of finding the keys that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was really excited for this remaster; given the difference in setting (and that I was a child at the time) this one was my favorite; but there's no multiplayer, one of the most fun aspects of this sequel. I get that T2's multiplayer servers are dead, but no one knew T2 for it's multiplayer because you'd have to have 4 players on a tiny screen; T3 had AI bots and we used to spend hours just playing against them. Wish they'd just add it at some point.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nightdive Studios is the gold standard when it comes to remasters in an era where so many remasters are hit and miss. 11/10 Hopefully Rage Wars is next <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is so much worse than Turok 2 in every possible way. 2 was tough, but it underscored the importance of searching through level to find the good ammo. Here you're given bushels of ammo... So why search for anything? (Not that the very linear levels have much in the way of exploration). In 2, enemies took many hits to kill and then died in gruesome limb-detructiony ways. Here, even the basic arrow causes enemy's heads to explode! The weapons felt SO distinct in 2, and thats all gone…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion is for me the most enjoyable part of the series, mostly because of the smooth and dynamic gameplay. The levels are well designed and clear, so exploring the world does not feel chaotic or frustrating, unlike in earlier Turok games where it was easy to get lost. The story keeps you interested, and the atmosphere with creatures and dangerous places pulls you in completely. Overall, it is a solid adventure that both new players and old fans can enjoy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the three major N64 Turok single-player games were all playable in their own right, it still stands that Shadow of Oblivion is easlily the weakest of the three games. The first Turok game is an ambient nightmare where you are just trying to survive in a world with little to no ammo and constantly respawning enemies. The second game is more forgiving, but the combat is very challenging and it's more of an adventure with movement powerups, different game worlds with their own mechanics and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While this is a fun time, it is certainly not worth anywhere near the asking price. This is really only a recommendation to buy this game when it is heavily discounted, as Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion is extremely short. PROS: - Decent gunplay and weapon variety - Levels are much less confusing than Turok 2: Seeds of Evil (though sometimes they are too simple) - Solid remaster and performance CONS: - Very short, taking ~2 hours to complete - A little bland and unambitious when…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'll say what pretty much every other negative review says about this game, Nightdive did a good job at remastering this game, improved a couple flaws with it but that pretty much ends there, the game itself is crap. If you had no knowledge of the Turok series and were to play this game as your first Turok before all the others it may not look that bad and just seem like a generic first person shooter, but compared to Turok 1 and 2 this is a total downgrade in almost every way, the gameplay…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As much as I love Turok 3, I'll have to say wait for a sale. It's not really worth at full price for such a short campaign/story with no multiplayer attached. You can hammer out the story fairly quickly. The game is saved by it's setting, music, and guns, but not enough for a full recommendation of a buy at full price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very mid shooter, plays a lot like half-life just more sluggish and with weaker feeling guns. There is not enough game to justify $30 when you can get better games like Ion Fury, Selaco, or even Half-life at a much cheaper price.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am leaving a positive review because I really appreciate what Nightdive is doing in making obscure/forgotten FPS games accessible with a modern coat of paint a QOL features. But in the case of Turok 3, the game itself is mediocre. Enemies are tanky, level designs are boring and it doesn't feel as fun as the previous entries (although you no longer spend hours lost in confusing mazes so that's a plus.)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nightdive studio head when Trump was pew pew'ed said that supporters deserved it too. This rhetoric is disgusting, abhorrent, and indicative of The Rot festering in far too many minds of people in our society.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not exactly a "bad" remaster as it took a ton of effort to just port this game, but it quite honestly looks awful. I understand that yes, it is not only an old game but an N64 game, but the new high res textures do not fit the low poly environments or the awful sound quality. It's like re-sculpturing a statue to add more detail: The more you chip to add, the more you actually lose. There's only so much detail you can have on the old bones of this game. This problem extends to more than Turok 3,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First off, I don't blame Nightdive for anything I'm about to say. In fact, I commend them for remastering older games like this. The following review is negative but all blame rests with the original devs and people involved. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, this game almost ruined Turok for me. I'm actually mad at how bad this game was compared to the previous titles and I wish I could get my money back. I remember seeing fleeting clips of the game as a kid and wanting to play it... boy, am I glad I didn't waste…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game's not worth it. As a certified N64 enjoyer that played tons of Turok 1 and 2 back in the day but never got to this one, that was a blessing. Shadow of Oblivion is so different tonally, structurally, and unfortunately quality-wise as well, that playing this was hardly any fun at all. This is in no small part to this game certainly being the least finished of the bunch. Gameplay The general movement style and pace is certainly there and at least equal to the other games, but the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Damn this recreation is a reminder of how poor this game really was. It's not the framerate of the N64 holding it back. It was much more.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well... I'm glad it was so short.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →multiplayer cut out
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm still not quite sure how the story fits in as a prequel to Elder Scrolls: Oblivion but I prefer this one since it has guns and dinosaurs.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short but fun. A nice variety of weapons and locations. It is much more linear than previous Turok games, which I like. No more replaying the same levels over and over. Two playable characters to pick from. I like playing as Danielle. Too bad the story never got a direct sequel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game brings back my childhood and watching my dad play this on n64, while yes it may seem tedious to those who have never played it truly is worth it as a gem of a game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow, I enjoyed Turok 2 a lot, but Turok 3 is genuinely dog poop. The remaster is fine, except that they could have added a damn save function instead of keeping the checkpoint system that completely screws you over if you accidentally skip an optional area. The game itself really isn't worth playing. The first 4 levels have their moments, but they mostly feel like incoherent fillers. The game gets progressively worse, and the final level is a boring, never-ending slog. I thought it might be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fine for a remaster of the game. I'm overall glad we ended up getting what we got, the Turok community wasn't sure for a long time if we'd get this game and here it is. If you liked the first 2 games, it's worth getting and playing but that's where the good things I have to say stop. I'll make a list of the problems this game has and why I gave it the thumbs down. - The game uses original, very compressed audio. I assume this is an artifact from the n64 game as this was never released on…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →GREAT Remaster, but AWFUL GAME! I forgot what a total piece of crap this was. I start a game and I look around. There's no dinosaurs?! What!? I played for about 20 minutes, I ended up dying on a failed jump and I had to do the whole level over. I decided NAH, this is game is PURE garbage and shouldn't be called Turok. Don't bother with Turok 3, it's far far worse than the other 2. BUT if you are going to force yourself to play, make sure you turn off the V-sync, for some reason it made my…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, it's decent but apart from being nice to finally play a N64 exclusive title on PC, i really don't see anything else that makes it better than the previous games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The only positive thing about this game I can say is it makes me glad that gaming has evolved past...this. Yes, it's dated, but other games from this era weren't so dang hokey. The controls are awful, the enemies are laughably bad, most of them just stand still and shoot. Everything dies from a single arrow. There's a soundbyte that play literally throughout my entire playtime, every 60 seconds or so there's a "HIYA HIYAAAAAAHI-YAA!" going off in the background. The first boss didn't even touch…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion is a disappointing follow-up that fails to live up to the legacy of its predecessors. Unlike the vast, atmospheric levels of Turok 1 and 2, the environments here feel small, confusing and uninspired. The graphics lack the ambition and detail that made earlier entries so memorable. Weapons are far less creative and impactful, leaving combat feeling bland and forgettable. The story attempts to be darker but ends up poorly paced and unengaging. Enemy variety is limited,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thank you Nightdive. Extreme-G next, please.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got every achievement in this game in 12 hours over the span of 5 playthroughs. This is one of my favorite games from my childhood but the remaster is NOT worth $30 considering it is missing multiplayer. The game is short and definitely needs the multiplayer component to justify the price tag.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am one of the few who enjoyed Turok 3 more than the predecessor. I particularly enjoy the atmosphere in the dystopian future setting, which was mindblowing back in the day on the N64. It is also much more straightforward and the opposite to the endless mazes and switch-hunting in Turok 2. The devs at Nightdive also did an incredible job with this one since there was only the N64 version before this release and I'm pretty sure they had to reverse engineer a lot to get it running on PC. Big…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Turok 3 is interesting as hell. It is way more linear and Half-Life inspired than the previous two games, but it still has the sick weapons and that Turok juice that does it better than most. I like it more than Half-Life, anyway, but I could never get into that game. Second one, sure, that was fun
unlabelledView post →A little different than the others. Way more cinematic cut scenes, more than one character to play with and very short. Taking that into consideration full price is way too much. Rest is okay, nothing really new or ground breaking here, most importantly, shooting is still fun. Speed running it with the Raptor was interesting. Either during a franchise sale or at least -50% on the single game. Recommeded!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Turok 3 may have the best remaster I have ever seen. I've beaten the original game many years ago and I remember it having terrible controls, severely pixelated and dark graphics that it was difficult to see, and awful performance making it a very rough game to play even though otherwise it was good. This remaster fixed all of these issues and also improved the textures that the game now looks significantly better. On its own Turok 3 is a great shooter. It may not be as fast-paced as the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →And I have now played through Turok 3 Shadow of Oblivion. I played the woman, I think I'll want to play as the boy at some point but I save it for later. The game was fun all throughout. It ends on a cliffhanger, I don't think the disastrous PS360 game continued the story ? I wish I had 1&2 #blutoid
unlabelledView post →The difficulty is much easier than the previous two games in terms of stage mapping. The stages are fairly linear and become more complex as the game advances, but not as complex as Turok 2. This game has outstanding visual environments and is a fun experience to play through without too many hiccups. The game definitely gets more exciting when you collect a lot of the weapons. I noticed on hard mode that weapon selection is critical when facing certain enemies because you have…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A massive step down from Turok 1 and 2. It has some impressive set pieces (for the time), and the split between Joseph and Danielle would make it worth playing 2+ times. But the gameplay is all around weaker. Many times enemy placement is just enemies spawning further down a corridor to run towards you until they get in firing range. And enemy aim just magnetizes to you so you don't really feel like you have a fair chance to dodge and evade... you just kill them before they can annoyingly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →compared to Turok dinosaur hunter and Seeds of Evil this one is real lack luster. if you were a fan back in the N64 days its not what you remember. Endless mob spawns, items missing from maps, that require a restart to solve. the team changed the game in some ways that have made it less enjoyable then the original
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good remaster. Nightdive outdid themselves again with this one. with that being said, this game is not good. play 1 and 2 instead because those are also very good remasters by nightdive
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Turok 3 a very interesting game that was once pretty much forgotten about with it being such a late release for the nintendo 64 but once again thanks to the great Nightdive studios has been brought back for all of us to enjoy. Turok 3 just like its predecessor Turok 2 was graphically impressive for its time for a console game and it ran pretty poorly on the old Nintendo 64. This has all been changed now and you can run the game at 60 to over 500 fps at least you can on my PC the game runs…
