In the most metal name change possible, the game was retitled "Violence Killer Turok New Generation" for the NTSCJ release, though the Gameboy Color version (with a different story) remained Turok 2 and added "Space Warrior"!

unlabelledView post →Okay, 90s-era gamedevs are so cool because they added nerdy stuff into games that showed how cool computer science was. In Turok 2 on N64, if you type in "WHATSATEXUREMAP" into the cheats, you can turn off all the game's textures and get a good look at the raw game world. 🦖

unlabelledView post →Started Turok 2: Seed of Evil last night, another game I had on N64 but outside of the Cerebral Bore and lingering memory of absolutely huge levels it hasn’t left much of an impression. After playing it last night and getting level 1 done, I love it, only the movement isn’t quite as good as 1

unlabelledView post →Sweet! Here's hoping it doesn't break mods. Turok 2+ reworks the game pretty hard into something that feels more natively 'PC' than an N64 port. www.moddb.com/mods/turok-2...
unlabelledView post →Got the good ending in Turok 2 apparently big b00ba alien lady lets you hit What a great fuckign game. boss fights felt like a step down from 1 though in almost every aspect. I mean I guess it is pretty hard to come up with something cooler than Cyber augmented Trex or 3 humvees
unlabelledView post →If you started a multiplayer game in Turok 2, then used the “all levels” cheat, you’d be transported to the level of your choosing but somehow in a fake co-op mode. It was broken as all hell and you couldn’t complete the level, but it was neat to play an FPS co-op back on the N64.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kid me was a dumbass, these levels aren't that confusing
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Non-linear crap. You have to replay missions, over and over again, to complete missed objectives. You have to fight the same enemies, each time you go back through a level for missing keys/etc. Take the level called Hive of the Mantids, for example. Missed destroying one of the embryos? Well, get ready to play the level, on repeat, until you find it. You run around, aimlessly, expelling ammo on unlimited enemies, while trying to keep track of the close-overhead-viewed map (which doesn't zoom…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's one REALLY good mod for the remaster for it that reworks everything to make it feel like a native made-for-PC version of Turok 2 instead of an N64 port. www.moddb.com/mods/turok-2...
unlabelledView post →I have never played the original version back in the days when it was released, but only this "remastered" version. But holy ♥♥♥♥... i think the devil him self was level designer here. The levels and objectives are so confusing its barely playable :( The shooting and enemies are fine but the maps are straight out of hell. 4/10

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Turok 2 was initially released on the Nintendo 64 in 1998, and it could've been a contender. It had enemy scripting and graphics comparable to Half-Life, sprawling levels flush with secrets, a rogue's gallery of half-a-dozen beautifully rendered non-human cultures to slaughter, a far superior arsenal to any first person shooter on the market, a grander scope than most western console roleplaying games of the era, split-screen multiplayer with multiple game modes, a robust cheat engine and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good selection of weapons and interesting enemies but really, REALLY bad level design. The objectives are confusing and the levels are very easy to get lost in and you will completely lose track of what you were supposed to be doing.

unlabelledView post →Great remaster, but holy hell this game sucks arse. Level design worse than actual hell. It's like they mashed 5 different levels into one, and then make you find a niddle in there somewhere. 1st one was a straightforward shooter with a very flat and simple levels. But this one makes me wanna throw my monitor into a wall. Brother.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yup - it's still hard. BEWAREOBLIVIONISATHAND kept me alive during the N64 days of playing this incredible game, but I'm trying to make my way through the quest to stop the Primagen without cheats this time. Turok 2 is still as fun as you remember, with brutal weapons, aggressive enemies that use cover and huge, sprawling levels. It's still very possible to get hopelessly lost, but a little patience usually sees you through to the end of the level. The main improvement is the control scheme! It…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The cerebral gore and the atmosphere are the good things of this game. I don't love the backtracking though. It's really too much
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Turok 2: Seeds of Evil improves on its predecessor in many ways, but the ways in which it fails ultimately makes it a far worse experience. The weapons are cooler, the combat feels tighter, and the enemy variety is better. Unfortunately, the level and general game design completely kills the experience. The best word I can use to describe this game is convoluted. The maps are often a nightmare to navigate, with the game constantly asking you to find some specific hidden lever that opens some…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This feels incredibly faithful to the original N64 game but that isn't always a good thing. Game feels like they make the levels confusing for padding in the game. Labyrinthian. Also was hoping there would be more hints from the remaster on what to do, but not really.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a miserable time I had while playing even just the first level of turok 2! The first game was already pushing what I could endure with its maze levels and collecting hidden keys requirements but this one turned that up to 12. T2 is a game made for a time when you would get one cartridge every few months, in 2026 there are much better games to play.

unlabelledView post →The game improves on the original Turok when it comes to cool and creative weapons, but thats the only positive thing i can think of for this game. Combat feels horrible, sometimes it takes 1 shot to kill your enemy, while another time it takes 5 shots for the same enemy type, it feels incredibly inconsistent and awful. Some levels are fun and look nice, but having stupid objectives and forcing players to come back once they obtain a new ability ruins the immersion and overall fun of the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Level design is as painful as being a mouse trapped in the Morris water maze. No wonder you'll often see mostly boomers praising Turok 2 due to nostalgia.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thanks to this remaster, I have finally overcome a childhood fear and completed Turok 2! Do I recommend this game? Well, yes, but unless you are a fan of old school videogame design or have a large dose of nostalgia for this title you may find some of the level design a little frustrating. There might also be a little backtracking if you missed certain items along the way, However, this remaster allows you to save at any time and there are warp portals allowing you to jump to certain areas in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I expected a simple N64 port, but this is a well made remaster with better graphics, smoother framerate and regular updates. Sadly, the depth perception and walking animation triggers motion sickness for me after a few minutes. Still, thumbs up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's gotta be a new Turok cooking or something, because genuinely this game despite it's age get's updates and support far more then most modern live service games in my library.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Turok 2’s OST is UNREASONABLY good! Especially for an N64 game
unlabelledView post →88th game finished on Twitch. 9th game of 2025 finished. Turok 2: Seeds of Evil These ports are incredible. I really hope at one point we get more ports exactly like this one. As for gameplay. Exactly like it was 20 odd years ago. 3/5 Meows. Levels were way too big with no indication where to go.

A classic shooter game with great gameplay, music, level design, enemies, and weapons, features that made the experience of playing on the harder difficulty while 100% the game all the more worth while. And as of recent, I decided to dust off the digital cobwebs of some old games of mine in the library, including this game, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil. I had faint memories of what…

unlabelledView post →A fine enough game, but nowhere near as good as the first Turok game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Turok 2: Seeds of Evil is the sequel to the previous game in the series, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. Much like it's predecessor, it is an FPS game were you will take on the role of a man named Turok (But not the same guy from the previous game.) to kill dinosaurs, monsters, aliens while you explore large, sprawling levels. And just like the previous game, it originally came out on the N64, with an initial PC port that was just as bad as the PC port of the first game. But again, Nightdive Studios…

I remember when my dad had trouble figuring out how to unlock a secret in a level. I suggested shooting everything, and wouldn't you know it even non-combatants can help unlock a secret here. This game brings back a lot of memories, and I played a small amount of multiplayer back then when it ran on (I believe) it was connected through 'ole GameSpy. I don't think I have all…
