14 of 14 · most liked firstSo after having this game sit on my account for years, and after stumbling across an old CallMeKevin video, I decided to stick it out for more than the hour I loosely remember. And somehow I was left feeling a little bit disappointed. Pro's Super easy to learn, honestly there is barely a meta and it is borderline an idle game in places. Easy on the eye, both a bad and good thing, it looks and feels like a mobile game, again, unsure of whether that is acceptable now, didn't overly bother me.…

Been quiet with arts, so before I begin the final stretch, lemme update y'all: I am working with a partner in my class and a Year 1 student to create concepts for a game concept called Kahlua's Turmoil! For this first post, here's the concepts for the protagonist, Kahlua, that I drew!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game really, really, really, REALLY overstays its welcome. I'm mostly looking at it through the lense of an achievement hunter. I enjoy the core gameplay, but the amount of fun you'll have for the price you'll pay is not a good ratio. This game is maybe worth it on a 75% sale I suppose, don't pay more. To elaborate, the basegame is... fine. It's simple, relaxing management game, and the first few hours are genuinely fun. But then, you're kind of tired of the same gameplay loop, and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a cute little game. Looks nice, sounds nice, plays nice. A little bit shallow, yes, you can deduce the win path in 4-6h, and it doesn't change much later (maybe something drastically new appears in later areas, I haven't gotten that far). I certainly enjoyed playing it, but I can't recommend it because of the issues with saves and the way saves are done in general. The game autosaves on mission exit, and has a single save slot which you can do nothing about. That wouldn't be an issue,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Personal Rating: Very Positive (90%) Your average oil mining game, that would make an average American proud. There is more than just pumping oil. You need to compete againd other 3AI's that try to topple you and get more oil, and ultimately, more stocks in order to take the post. It's fun, but it can very well turn into a financial chess game, instead of just mining oil.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Glad to have this package of World Order along with World in Turmoil and the Concepts book arrive today. Heard a lot of great things about this game - so looking forward to learning and playing it soon.
unlabelledView post →I think this game could be fun, but it's very repetitive. I cannot finish a single playthrough without getting bored. There's no gameplay innovation throughout it, nothing really changes. Sure, they add obstacles occasionally, and a way to force better prices, but it doesn't really add much in my opinion. During the work on the land claim, it feels overwhelming. Limited time to get lucky and find what you need. The upgrades don't provide much other than things that kind of feel like you…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Turmoil is a relaxed small-town management type game where the player bids for a plot of land, looks for oil, begins a drilling production, and attempt to sell at the best price. I'm not too into casual or relaxed games, but this one scratches an itch - the surprise and excitement for one: discovering oil and two: selling it for a good price. Don't be fooled by my hours - I have loads on Epic Launcher due to this game being free (once-upon-a-time) there. Turmoil's gameplay is relatively…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →an extremely exciting oil production simulator. the game has an economy, competition, stages of development, its own history, everything is perfect. I bought it right away with DLC, 6 hours of playing only the main game, it was bought at a discount, not the slightest regret about the purchase. it's incredibly addictive.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rating: 8/10 -Good I did not expect that extracting oil would be this much fun. I saw someone playing this on YouTube and I loved the simplicity of the game. From the art style to the gameplay, all felt simple and appealing. The goal of the game is to make as much money from oil as possible and to become the new mayor of the town. To become the new mayor, you have to buy shares of the town. Shares are sold in auctions. The first person that reaches 50% of shares wins the game. You play against…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish they would patch the game more, the basic game loop is a nice little business sim, needs more upgrades, and different terrain etc

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun little game. I am now an oil baron and I will exploit market forces to profit off of the labor of others.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an angry review because of something that just happened. This is a good game. No doubt, but that BS with the stock buying. I spent 91k on 2% because it said the first person to hit the button buys the stock. Almost like it was a race. But in actuality hitting the button the fastest means you give away all your money. HORRIBLE mechanic that wasn't properly explained. I'm livid right now. I was having fun with this too and that type of nonsense sends me up a wall. Bad game design burns me…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its pretty decent but fr is just repetitive game mechanics that get a bit stale overtime. Would recommend for boring days though... or if you don't have a lot of time on your hands.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I first saw this game in 2016 and always wanted play it. Finally got a PC and played it, and it was as fun as I thought it would be. Nice little game, loved it!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a Cute game with one giant downfall.... the hardest mode is still a joke. 2 difficultys, 2 playthroughs, 2 landslide wins. 0 replayability = 3-4 hours of gameplay. Multiplayer would be cool, if i had friends that game. Playing with randoms, waiting 24+ hours to take a turn is pretty lame. Its hard to recommend this game but i still have to because its got good bones. It could have been an AMAZING game if it had more difficulty levels, and i dont mean just the AI opponents but with…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What an amazing game. Great in short bursts or even binging. Whatever you are in the mood for; Either way its a great way to enjoy a lazy afternoon. The campaign is highly re-playable and co-op is just as fun. Really I keep coming back to this game [One of the few these days]. Also the game is quick and easy to pick up but be careful because it is certainly addictive. I fully recommend this game and think everyone should have this in their library.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A lovely and calm game, got some friendly competition and rivalry with the other characters. Very immersive and satisfying when you get all your timing right. A very sweet goodbye from all the citizens and a really bittersweet goodbye after finally completing the game now as a 22yo, considering I was playing this game as a child after Jacksepticeye played it. Thankyou guys. Brought a tear to my eye.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the ambiance, looks and overall style of this game. It's really calming as well and a great one to play after a long day

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was a blast. Running lines out to find all the oil spots and trying to maximize profits was very fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't even start the tutorial cause game freezes every time I try to travel to the dig site... Don't waste your time on this garbage
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun, addictive, and very re-playable game! In fact, I wish the campaign was longer!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Turmoil is a strategy sim about joining the 19th-century oil rush, leasing land, drilling for oil, building pipe networks, and selling when prices are high. Between rounds you buy upgrades and town shares while competing against other oil barons to become mayor. Pros ✔️ Has a good board game kinda feel - Bidding on land, playing out each drilling round, buying upgrades, and fighting over town shares makes the whole campaign feel like a good strategy board game. ✔️ Still getting extra content…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like the concept, felt like a board game framework around a RNG puzzle game. Giving it a tentative thumbs up for trying something interesting. That said, there's a pretty insane UI oversight in how easy it is to misclick and close a pipe, which costs money to do, and then more money to reopen. The rest of the UI is pretty good, but you have to be vigilant about that. Another gripe is that the campaign is too long for what you're actually doing. Each biome gives some new options, but if…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun and challenging
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have really enjoyed this game! It's nice and simple, but very addictive.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The replayability is high, and even thought the multiplayer can get repetitive it's still a fun game to learn with your friends. If you choose to try and get all the achievements, you'll have a real challenge cut out for you, which I found refreshing. I highly recommend the Turn Up The Heat DLC, but the Dig Deeper one left me feeling more overwhelmed then anything else.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple gameplay with a lot of room for strategy in multiplayer. You try to out profit your friends and leverage upgrading your operation vs putting money down on blind auctions for stocks. You can play through a game in one active session or submit turns over the course of days with a 48 hour limit. Its just chill.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It plays well on my potato and its very addicting. The deepest drill/2d drilling minigame is the singular bad part and even then you don't actually have to engage with it. Still waiting for more DLC tbh there is still alot the devs could do with this
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very linear but decent gameplay. The stock mechanic ruins the whole game, unfortunately. Pickup a little stock here and there. Spend maybe 100k on upgrades in total then just hoard money until the end of the game and outbid everyone for the remaining shares.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Attention! The base game requires PAID DLCs in order to get all the achievements. That's a huge no no.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought years ago and never gave it a shot until recently. Relaxing management game. Has enough going on to be engaging and fun. Just sit back click here and there. Don't even need to touch the keyboard. Fits my current lifestyle perfectly. Glad I gave it a shot after all this time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oil!?!?! Aarrgghhh Give it all! 🦅 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🦅
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, but I could never really learn the ropes of the more advanced features like making gas pockets grow or petrol refineries. Somehow I always ended up losing money or not being able to multitask, so I mainly focused on selling oil, which is enough to enjoy the game and beat your competitors. It's a nice, relaxing game, but if you plan on playing the expert mode, you're in for a very annoying playthrough if you haven't mastered all the mechanics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →after playing the free version on epic i bought it for steam. this game is so much fun to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is less of a game and more an experience I would say. One that includes plenty of both 'riff' and 'raff' alongside plenty of jiggery followed by a massive dose of pokery. I'll tell you what, after a cheeky food-poisoned kebab, a night of drinking, and a jog around the block, my insides were in what can only be summed up as akin to the title of this game: Turmoil! Yurp, I ♥♥♥♥ myself.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My American gf loves this oil finding game. It is now in the nightly game rotation and is amazing. Best game since sliced bread and oil.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i just finished the tutorial good game 👍
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I watched Markiplier play this game when I was a kid and like 10 years later playing is just as addictive as I thought it would be. A super entertaining game with lots to do, kept me up for hours last night.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is a meh meh to be honest. Every single time restarting the level drives me nuts... after a few hours for me its not playable any more.
