Tunnel of Doom is a tactical action rogue-lite game with tower defense elements. Battles Each time a battle takes place, an indicator shows where enemies spawn from and the UI shows you how many and which. You then have unlimited time to prepare for the battle. You can build barricades, traps, and towers through resources that are so limited that you can't use…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like TD and RL games so the combo is cool and has potential, but one mechanic I really don't like is, that enemies can spawn in rooms you already visited/cleared. And that really destroys the fun for me. Why? Because when you clear a room you will most likely harvest all props for resources which was used as natural cover or barriers. So now you come back into a room that is stripped clean and have a battle on your ass, HOW FUN! But not for me!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great idea, poor balancing. The towers are too expensive and stores are few, so you have only 1 or 2 for a looong time. Every room you visit increases the number of enemies by at least 1. But instead of the basic roguelike mechanic "great risk, great reward", cleaning rooms doesn't provide rewards. You barely cover the resources used and risk your towers and your life. Perks are also very expensive and barely change gameplay. You can't build intricate designs for your towers, and the combat is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's got some interesting ideas, but the game does a poor job at valuing the players time. Too much of the game feels like a chore and there's too much focus on clunky combat instead of tower defense stuff.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was intrigued after playing the demo a while back but unfortunately after a couple hours I feel like I have seen just about all this game has to offer.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It isn't bad, but very short. You can either beat it on normal, or play the hard(doomed story) which makes it almost impossible without seeing waves coming, no map and halving your health and other detriments, so it becomes about luck more than any planning. The normal will take about 2 hours to beat and become quite easy once you get a few cannons. By the 3rd floor of normal I could afk on waves due to having 4 cannons set up, just had to attack for the mobs that were immune to being seen by…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun game with a unique premise. I enjoy the combination of tower defense, resource management, and dungeon crawling. The setting is unique, and the story is spartan but functional. A few points that I feel could be improved upon: Melee combat is very awkward. I assume this is intentional, to promote the use of defenses, but considering how frequently you'll have to take a pickaxe to a goblin I wish it felt better to do so. I killed a couple of friendly miners by accident simply because…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do you like resource collecting simulator that contributes to unnecessary run prolongation? (Hello Last Stand Aftermath) I dont. Oh and this tower rebuilding routine feels like a chore, plus constant resource management. Hell, how can you manage when you dont event know the waves approaching, more like a gamble.Poorly slaped together mechanics with no features made to alleviate the downsides.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game doesn't really need any tutorial, since it's pretty intuitive how it works and descriptions of items are clear. The game works pretty much how you would expect it to work, which is nice. It's a tower-defense like game, but every room is cleared pretty quickly, so you don't have to spend a lot of time in any single room. Because it's easy to understand how everything works and you clear rooms pretty quickly, you can be creative and experiment with different setups in each new room.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really tried to like this game but it just unfair. It has some mechanics that just make the game unbearable. 1) Most of the traits are useless, 2) the same materials you use to build are the ammo on your turrets, so the more you shoot the less you can build, 3) when you get hit the mobs lose agro and go hit something else, that means they will break your barricades, turrets and such, and when these get destroyed you lose the materials spent on them, so basicaly getting hit once means you…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I dig the atmosphere, and the way you have to build your defenses in battle sequences is a cool twist. Music is good, and I really like the artstyle. Font is a bit hard to read if you reduce the window size, and it can get challenging. Otherwise, I'm looking forward to what the dev has in store for this game in the future, there's lots of potential here.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow, this is a very unique formula of adding sudden tower defense with a pretty enjoyable resource gather build, unforgiving survival dungeon. Alot of potential here imho edit: Was kind of hoping this game would introduce some sort of endless mode, where it moves you from room to room, remove the player explore part, but give us convince quality of life, straight up horde mode. how many rooms can you survive etc, each room less resources, or different types of encounters etc. as only gripe…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice vibe with fun little combats. I liked the suspenseful atmosphere in the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great retro style game in modern time. Nice easy gaming experience but still enough content.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't understand the neg reviews. The game is enjoyable and it has a very cure graphics. I like even the combat system.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tunnel of Doom is a 2D retro pixel hybrid top down shooter/brawler and tower defense. It uses the "roguelike" moniker to inform gamers that the developers didn't bother doing any level design. Gameplay consists of fairly simple brawling stuff with a slight ARPG tone, and of course building towers to help survive the waves of baddies. A degree of effort went into the mechanical design of the game and slapping on a VN front end, which is in stark contrast to the phoned in, obsolete pixel "art"…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Neat premise, with an deeply flawed and unpolished execution. Not to say there is no potential here, but as it stands right now, I can't recommend it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A little Slow going at first, but all in all the game is fun. The tower defense aspect + the crafting and main Po tag being able to fight as well is a nice blend. I would say that this game is not a must have but it is a nice to have kinda game. I'd say get this game ether at full price or on sale ( if your lucky ) but at ether price the game is worth it.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another intelligent roguelite twist with an excellent combination of exploration, adventure, resource gathering, strategising (tower defence like) and engaging in combat. Looks like there's quite a lot of depth to be had. Visuals are stylish and serve the game well. No spoilers, but there are some lovely little details too that give the game a bit of extra charm. I just wish I wouldn't keep forgetting about the little spiders! Oh, and definitely play the tutorial first.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's pretty good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good, well balanced tower defense roguelike. Not sure why it has negative reviews. I played it when those reviews were out as well. The art is good, the gameplay loop is fun, sound and music is good, and the skill level is deep enough, and it isn't too difficult once you learn the bits and pieces. Also didn't find any gamebreaking bugs. Worth playing if you like actiony tower defense games, mining/collecting and roguelikes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First of all, keep in mind some other reviews are now outdated, as the devs updated the game to solve most issues (ie: respawning enemies, etc) This game is a little gem, as long as you understand what you're getting into. It's what it says on the tin, a hybrid between tower defense, and hands-on combat. You cannot just set down your turrets and expect to win every time, or at least, not without suffering some material losses, which might ultimately mean the end of your run. Once you understand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately, cant recommend this one. Will try again if theres a large balancing patch, but currently the lack of viable strategies make this pretty uninteresting to play
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this isnt doom eternal wtf
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played for a bit, doesn't feel or play the way I thought it would based on the videos. Wasn't really impressed with anything. Inventory management was clunky but more importantly I didn't find the game fun and it was very, very repetitive. Refunding, and I can't really recommend this game in its current state.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the difficulty spikes up way too fast, and the 'weapon combat' mentioned up above in the game features section is borderline non-existent because weapon ammo is a HUGE commodity... you'll start with like 6 pistol and 6 rifle ammo... and you'll be damn lucky to come across more, you will be relying on literally using materials like rocks, glass, and wood for 90% of your combat, including the pickaxe you have as your real 'weapon' and look to buy/find "cannons" that can be placed on the map as…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game needs meta progression
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You'd think the other reviews saying "2 hour clear time" would be a bit of an exaggeration, but no. Unless of course you go to a better game with better movement/dodge controls. (Also it shows how much they care when every dialogue box's text goes outside the box and almost off screen. EVERY DIALOGUE BOX) I just wish they did the combo of TD and rougelike better than this... It kinda got me excited when I first saw it Edit. I forgot to mention the obvious lack of replayability. What point is…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended on a deep sale, not at the full listed price ($13.99). https://youtu.be/XwJPl4mSVQc
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's on it's way to be a solid NES Zelda cover game. It is hard with perma death with is exactly what I like. Maybe what till late Febrary or March in hopes of different updates but yeah, I'm digging it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tunnel of Doom does a very good job of introducing the game even to players who are not very familiar with the genre. It starts with a quick but informative tutorial that explains basic stuff very well and gives a taste of things to come before leaving the player to explore on his own. I had a lot of fun navigating randomly generated mines and dying to everything over and over again. Usually I get discouraged by repetitive gameplay but here it was not a problem. Every time the adventure…
