60 of 147 · most liked firstI'm giving this game a negative review for the way it updates, I don't understand why they have the need to update the game through maniaplanet which is 100 times slower than steam... The purpose of steam was to always have your games up to date, but after a long day of work I want to relax with some trackmania and I get hit with a mania planet update and it goes so slow I just end up playing something else. Why is there a need to overcomplicate things these days... reminds me of battlefield's…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am not a new player of Trackmania, a long time ago I had played United Forever and I was absolutely found of this game. Recently, I just heard that there was a new Trackmania which was going to be released, I hadn't heared about Turbo and I was so happy to be able to replay a serie that I thought was dead. So yeah I really enjoyed this game and I'm gonna make a review of what my experience was like : So, first, I'm tired of these peoples complaining "The interface sucks, it's ugly as hell"…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is awful. The controls are too sensitive in this iteration of Trackmania. It isn't unplayable, but it is certainly not fun. The bigger issue is "Mania Planet." It simply doesn't work. I can't download anything thru the Maniaplanet Interface, even stuff I have purchased thru Steam. Instead to play this or Stadium, Valley, Canyon or Shootmania you have to first go and download Mania Planet and then you have to find the downloads, then you have to download them thru a browser and then you have…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Out of all four Trackmania 2 Titles, this one is special and odd. I can see why some people do not like it. It's different to the other titles in several ways: - The on-road handling is very direct and agile, a huge contrast to the other titles. Drifting or braking isn't very prominent here, which means that some core mechanics of the other games have been taken away and the game's focus is on steering. I find it refreshing and it matches the tight curves that you encounter in this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So this is my first time EVER playing a Trackmania game and I have to say I am VERY impressed! This game is not only a BLAST to play, but the music is pretty awesome as well. Trying to get all the golds in the levels is quite a fun challenge, and reminds me of games from my childhood like Mario Kart and Diddy Kong Racing, lol. If you guys wanna see an example of the gameplay, heres my video on it. I just stuck to the first few races for now however: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmKOiuJ2PXc
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is just not worthed. I own the original Trackmania United. I played a lot of Stadium. I loved Canyon and I loved TM2 Stadium. I also enjoyed Turno. Lagoon is just not good enough of a Trackmania title. The visuals are too similar to Turbo. The handling of the car is not my favorite. It feels to sticky and super responsive for a car of the size it is modeled. I was hoping for something more in line with TM Island, which is different from Stadium, but very fun to play at full speed and to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been playing the game a week before release during the closed beta. From what I've experienced, it's exactly the same as all the other TM games; easy to pick up, hard to master, and very, very, very addictive. Environment looks beautiful. It's a unique looking and feeling environment and really adds well to the series. As for the track editor blocks, there's a good selection and they look great. My only gripe is that there needs to be more transitional blocks; i.e, platforms with small lips…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →People who give this game a bad review because of the handling and the way the cars look probably haven't played any TrackMania other than Stadium.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought game... Launched game... Clicked Lagoon in Mania launcher... Says buy game... Did buy game already... Checked forums, ppl have same issue... Buy/Download and Play not easy it seems... FYI has to make a new Mania account after having one already... Plain sad...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trackmania is easily my favorite arcade racing game and Lagoon is a worthy addition to the Trackmania franchise. The handling model of the car requires some learning but once you know how to control the car well, the game is awesome. Just like any other Trackmania game. I love it! :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought Trackmania Lagoon and installed it. After installing many updates all I can do is play the demo of the newest Trackmania. I'm no game developer but I don't think I should have to ask this question but, how do I play the game I paid for? At this point I can't be bothered. Read the reviews before you buy
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Uses the Maniaplanet launcher, which tries to install Trackmania Lagoon to my OS's hard drive which is full, rather than the hard drive Maniaplanet is actually installed to, or one of the 4 other drives in my computer that have enough space. There's no way to change the file path in the launcher either. Trackmania's great, real shame about that Maniaplanet tumor.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The exact same as every other TM game ever created. Unbelievably fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All the screenshots and videos look fun. Too bad I can't get past the 100+ menus in ManiaPlanet, which is officially the ugliest and least user-friendly launcher in the world.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ah, Lagoon. I saw the trailers and was amazed by what I saw. It looks great, like a remake of the Bay environment from TrackMania Sunrise and United. Then I bought it, only to regret instantly after. The game sure looks and sounds great, but the car physics ruin it completely for me. The cars are literally undriveable. The steering is too sensitive and for a game like TrackMania, this is terrible. A mere touch on a wall and your time is garbage. And this happens way too many times on Lagoon.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The difficulty curve is practically non-existant. For example, Solo track C04 is incredibly easy, wheras C05 is way too hard. If only further tracks didn't have to be unlocked, it wouldn't matter. How can you make a game like this? Was it even tested for progression, or just for bugs? In the old TM games, tracks got harder GRADUALLY. On this one, you'll get silvers and tracks with near-impossible turns because of the new unnecessary physics. I'm really having a hard time enjoying this.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game, as Trackmania games always are. The anti gravity rollercoaster sections allow the tracks to have some insane parts.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trackmania is a great game. Tackmania lagoon is uncontrollable with 360 controler. Really bummed about the conrtols in this game. It is unplayable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would have tried to get a refund for this game, if I hadn't forgotten completely about it after 30 mins.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommendation comes with a huge caveat: A little more than a month after release, multiplayer is essentially dead. I really enjoy the handling of the Lagoon vehicle — it is very nimble and allows for very sharp turns — and a lot of the created tracks are a blast to play ... there's just no one to play with.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's rare when I don't like a game. And this game falls into that category. First I thought it looks good on gameplays, so it must be good. Nice tropical setting with Range Rovers, what could go wrong, right? Oh boy, was I wrong... xD My biggest problem with the game is the handling. It's so weird and so sensitive. I found I can only (barely) handle the car precisely with my One S Controller with the sensitivity way down. By way down I mean the 0.1 sensitivity region and lower. And even then…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →money hungry bastards! after buying the game its still stuck in demo mode... if you want to play some more areas you have to pay another 20 .. and another 20 ... pfff... it was a nice race but it just feels like bad karma.. will refund now
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels cheap, horrible interface, horrible gameplay oh and not to mention that i spent 19 hours updating 900 MB on a 2 MB/ps speed... probably wont get a refund so feeling absolutely scammed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →surprisingly boring. graphics feel old, controls are very jerky and weirdly convoluted to configure. I remember playing the original game back in the days. I would have thought newer releases would have gotten better in quality, that the franchise would have polished their interface (that menu is not intuitive to navigate through). Once originally installed, the whole thing started updating content for the next hour before I could play, taking over everything (could have been updating in the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game just asks me to buy it again when installed. tried everything.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All yalls that say this game suck are just too hard to please. Its Trackmania. So its fanfreaking fantastic. Initially I didn't like the Trackmania2 series but I was coming from United and the Nations ESWC. These games have now grown on me greatly and Lagoon is a pleasant addition to the series. Pros - It has Trackmania in the title - looks fantastic - drives fantastic - cars stick fantastic - cars drift fantastic - cars taste fantastic Cons (lets not focus on the bad though you negative…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Huge fan of Trackmania, but would recommend Canyon instead of Lagoon and Valley. Lagoon is basically Bay². (The city cars from united forever). So if you like sharp corners and a really intense reaction time, then you can go buy this game. Still fun tho.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If the Island and Bay environments of old had a child with anti-gravity boots. 10/10 will do horizontal outside loops at ludicrous speeds again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trackmania 2 Lagoon is in this weird spot of the Trackmania franchise, where the compilation of all Trackmania 2 environments was already released through Trackmania Turbo, but the dedicated Lagoon game came out a year later. To clarify, I haven't played Turbo yet, so I fully focus on what Lagoon does as its own expansion/game. So, was this an oddly ceremonious ending to this era of the franchise? The most appealing part is, without a doubt, the environment itself. The Trackmania 2 games…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Visually a really nice Environment. Just be aware if you're buying it for Multiplayer that there are more Servers than Players and you only have lots of people playing when it's in featured in the main channel. Most people hate it for how the car controls on wood but tbh the whole trick is know where you want you want to turn, as changing directions to quickly will cause you to slither. Also the sand sections arent really made to fullspeed as its easy to crash into some little stones or water.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful scenery. Complete garbage controls. Get Canyon or any other TM game instead. Could have been great.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10/10 It's Trackmania and the theme I wanted to love in TM:Turbo but hated, is back in TM2! An endless amount of fun through rollercoasters, tunnels, wooden structures, beaches and of course concrete roads. Bless those and the rollercoasters, as the grip of the car is excellent on those. Very different to wooden structures and the beach were you are constantly drifting. They also have the highest learning curve and get people (including me) to ragequit, but once you git gud, driving on the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of best titles of the TrackMania 2 series! The mixture of varied driving surfaces, tropical atmosphere, and extensive map creation tools means this game will give endless hours of fun. I mostly play the non-Steam version, so my hours don't reflect just how much I love this game. But I highly recommend it to everyone, but especially those who enjoyed the old Island, Snow, and Bay environments in old TrackMania. It's a little something for everyone.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Graphics and gameplay though campaign is pretty boring. But i recommend for multiplayer.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game itself is OK .. but the performance is bad ( of course not for everybody but for many ) .. so thumbs down until at least fixing the vsync problem . [ update ] after the update I think game runs better .. needs more improvement to remove the negative review [ last update ] better .. negative review will stay for selling a product not in a good shape
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TrackMania 2 Lagoon its great it is like TM Turbo Lagoon but this Lagoon version is better.: + 65 tracks but the track design is not as good as the other 3 titles but still fun + graphics are well made + There are some items from TM United Forever from Bay + The driving behavior has remained the same as with TM Turbo Lagoon + track editor + The music is made tropical touch its very nice! Mania Planet is required!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →compared to other Trackmania2 packs control experience, regarding i played with keyboard, this is a drunk racer simulator. but its definitely ok. 5 / 6 ppm.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lagoon was my favorite environment in Trackmania Turbo, and this just expands upon it to make it even better.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A somewhat poor port of the Lagoon environment into Trackmania 2. Solo campaign is generally low effort, and the magnets on the tracks may fail to hold your car to the surface because the developers increased acceleration on magnetic surface in an update. The way car drives may not be to everyone's liking either, switching from insane grip on roads and magnets to poor grip on wood and offroad. Also generally not a very active environment. Only buy if you want to complete TM2 collection and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is definitely one of the best expansions and environments out of all the Trackmania DLC's. Unlike Stadium or Canyon, Lagoon has faster, more precise and tight driving than the other environments, but then all of a sudden this stops being the case as the grass and wood offer a completely different experience than the regular tracks which is welcome. Some won't like the change in pace to a precise, high-reaction environment. Of course it's not meant for everyone, but for those who enjoy the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've spent 2 hours trying to download the required update for this game, and have gotten nowhere. The only solution I've found online is to download a 5GB zip. This is absolutely ridiculous.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For those who come from TM United Lagoon is: =Gameplay: Snow and Bay cars had a savage night and the Lagoon car was born. No slide for days in solid ground. =Scenery: Less industrial, more turistic and wild version of the original Island envi. =Pros: +Graphics +Magnets +Scenery +More vertical space and bigger editor =Cons: -Narrow blocks -Less content than the other TM2 entries -Outside solid ground the car gets drunk drastically and switch to ice tires -Magnet bugs -No steam workshop…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game delivers an insane arcade, hot wheels esque type game with incredible diversity of track layouts. As advertised on that score it very much delivers. Runs on my laptop beatifully. This is not a racing sim type game and I would expect trying to use your racing controlers on it would be a waste of time. If you like racing against yourself and doing time trials on crazy challenging tracks for world ranking, local rankings etc. ....then you will probably enjoy this. However if you want…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →gameplay is pretty good but there are no premade maps, as there are few players there is few competition in online servers. map creator needs to have a better interface as it is hard to understand. apart from that, the graphics are good, the maps can be aerial and that makes it quite fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gorgeous and challenging environment, which we of course already knew from TM Turbo. The update for the Mania Planet interface in general is huge though. Nice to see they fixed the issue with not being able to switch environments without a restart in the Steam version.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →me when rollercoaster level 😎 me when sand level 😠
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →im a real lagooner i love lagooning
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quick Score: 4/5 Notes: Probably the strangest game in the series as far as how the vehicle controls. The entire game is full gas, you only use the brake maybe 4 times total. Overall decently fun, but there are a couple of extremely obnoxious stages involving wood/sand/loops. I found this trackmania to be the easiest in the series to get all author medals on. My tier list for the trackmania games. (Not including 2020) This is only in regards to the experience of going for the author medals…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lagoon environment of the TM2 series is fast-paced, fun but hard to get used to. Expect to invest more time than the other environments like Canyon or Valley. But again, every Trackmania to date is better than Ubitrash's new capitalism-o-machine TrackNania. What a way to ruin the series, Florent da Dictator.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is beautiful in its own way i do think u guys try this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's okay. The handling is hard getting used to and not quite what I expected. If you want a silly arcade racer, this might be for you, but at the same time all you do is race the same laps over and over with a bunch of inivisible other players, so there's no real interaction besides chat and the time leaderboard. The tracks get repetitive, and some are stupid difficult for no apparent reason. It runs relatively well and looks nice at least as far as the tracks go. A lot of the textures…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I regret a lot of things in my life, but not the instantbuy for all of my Trackmania Games. And this one is also a great one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buy it only if you want to play TMOne Bay or some of multi-env title packs, definitely not at a full price. The base game doesn't offer any active experience other than MX Lagoon Cup and competing against static campaign rankings, which isn't worth it only for this purpose. The biggest sale is still 50%, so that's the best bet to pick. Trackmania Turbo is a better altenative if you really want to try the environment out. The car is very tasteful and definitely weird to pick at first, so be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My Son Bought this for me i am unabel to get it to work Play is this need to redownload it i do not see any Cd Key to input iter thanks for any Help
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Of all the Trackmani games, this one is horrid. The controls are terrible and there is no sense of feeling like you are really driving something. So disappointed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game itself is fun, has a nice presentation and is really enjoyable, if you play it on your own. I haven't played online multiplayer very much, so I cannot judge that part. On the other hand, I am very disappointed by this game. The main reason to buy this game for me was having good experience with the hotseat mode in prior releases of this game series. In this incarnation it is unplayable. You get presented a broken UI, that promises many configuration options, but effectively let's you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been hearing about this Trackmania series for years, and finally decided to check it out. The game, at its heart, is a series of time trials on short courses, with very appealing visuals, sounds, and physics. I love how it strips away all the usual racing game elements - like story, dialogue, car choices, tuning, etc. It's just a pure racing experience, which is a joy to play. However, Trackmania 2 Lagoon is one part of a larger game "system" called Maniaplanet, which is very confusing at…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Could have been a nice game, but the horrible grip of the car and inconsistency of the handling is outliving the pros. The environment is pleasant, a decent change of pace from the stadium/valley environment, but for some reason the level editor's building pieces feel scarce, unlike, for example, the ones present in TM2 Valley. I gave it an honest try, from white tracks to blue tracks in the solo campaign, and it was a disappointment. The car does NOT grip to the magnetic tracks as it's…
