60 of 105 · most liked firstThe Sea Beast (2022) - A highly underrated animated film on Netflix about a little girl and her Kaiju. Unfortunately, most people ignored this movie because of the "Netflix" logo but I assure you it's as good as any theatrically released Disney or Pixar animated feature.

unlabelledView post →Netflix’s “The Sea Beast” has to be an underrated animated film that some how slipped through the cracks as it invokes a lot of what the older Dreamworks movies did. If that doesn’t sell you it’s like How To Train Your Dragon and Pirates of the Caribbean had a baby.

unlabelledView post →I don't think it can be overstated how big Nezha 2 and KPop Demon Hunters have become this year. Nezha 2 is the highest-grossing animated film of the year, whereas KPop Demon Hunters is hitting huge streaming numbers like The Sea Beast did, and multiple songs from the film are charting super high.

unlabelledView post →Day 185 recommending an animated film for a full year. Today is my 134th favourite "The Sea Beast”. Despite being the most watched Netflix animated film at the time I feel this charmer had been largely forgotten...
unlabelledView post →Another Au idea inspired by mermay, it will probably be a pirate au because I love pirates and sea monsters. This piece is inspired by that scene from The Sea Beast movie. The man can be seen as one of the Pines twins or just a very unlucky sailor. #gravityfalls #billcipher #mermay #gravityfallsau

unlabelledView post →number one: THE SEA BEAST (2022) animated film about a kid and adult learning that the sea beasts their country's hunters have spent generations hunting aren't antagonists, just very large, potentially dangerous animals defending territory increasingly encroached upon by humans
unlabelledView post →Drop some ANIMATION 🎨🖤✍🏼 The Sea Beast. A surprisingly LOVELY film about being kind to animals. (Altho', the script could've used ONE MORE pass.)
unlabelledView post →Wow, just got done watching The Sea Beast with some friends and holy shit this movie was amazing. I don't know how I missed out on this film. Its a netflix film and you all should go watch it.
unlabelledView post →The Sea Beast: A generic animated film at best, but its moral of "You can be a hero, and still be wrong" was an unexpected surprise.

unlabelledView post →Which animated film deserves more adult appreciation? I wanted to put something that flew under the radar rather than known gold like Road to El Dorado. Another honorable mention is The Sea Beast on Netflix.
unlabelledView post →Two banger animated movie recommendations: - The Sea Beast - Nimona I highly recommend giving them a watch
unlabelledView post →#NowWatching #TheSeaBeast In these uncertain-at-best times, the occasional dose of children's content is more of a comfort to me than ever. but, being an adult after all, I need a little more than the usual straightforward morality to truly enjoy it. This movie has got more! Great for all ages.
unlabelledView post →So many things get lost in the streaming shuffle, but watching K-POP DEMON HUNTERS reminds me there a few a few banger animated films just hanging out that truly deserve a physical release. Apart from ‘K-Pop,’ THE SEA BEAST & ORION AND THE DARK were similarly great yet seem somewhat forgotten.

unlabelledView post →The Sea Beast Directed by Chris Williams; starring Zaris-Angel Hator, Karl Urban, Jared Harris, Marianne Jean-Baptiste; written by Nell Benjamin, Chris Williams A young girl escapes the orphanage in the hope of becoming a sea-faring monster hunter. Efficient direction, fun monsters, cool pirates, all rendered in gorgeous CGI. All of which feels a bit wasted on a highly derivative story and characters with unsatisfying arcs. Netflix/Rating: C #TheSeaBeast #MovieReview #Movies #Netflix

unlabelledView post →I showed a friend netflix "The Sea Beast" and he enjoyed it so much we talked about it for like 2hrs. He even went looking for it's concept art! I am so happy to that I found one more person that enjoyed it as much as I do!~ Such an underrated movie and we both agreed: we need seafaring monhun!!
unlabelledView post →Go to Netflix, find a movie called The Sea Beast and watch it. Twice. The first time, watch it to enjoy it, because it's seriously good. The second time, watch it and look at it with writer's eyes, because it's extremely well-written. It will teach you a lot. #TheArtOfStory #Writing #TheSeaBeast
unlabelledView post →The Sea Beast: ... What's with these animated movies and having shit names?? That aside I loved this movie. It was sold to me as "How to train your dragon but the monsters are in the water" and frankly yeah no that was enough for me to watch it. It was a great watch and I highly recommend it.
unlabelledView post →It's from The Sea Beast on Netflix. A really good movie—not just saying that because I worked on it. I can vouch that there's at least two boats in this.
unlabelledView post →Watched The Sea Beast w/kiddo tonight. Once again, the message: Question. Defy. Learn. Change. Why can a children's movie make so clear what we as a people don't seem to understand?
unlabelledView post →The Sea Beast is such a sumptuous looking film

unlabelledView post →I feel like Moana worked best as a one and done kind of film. Zootopia, Big Hero 6, and Wreck it Ralph had world building that was compelling enough for a sequel. Funny enough, Chris Williams did pitch his own Moana 2 which became the Sea Beast and it’s actually worth checking out.

unlabelledView post →he really is??? also this just reminded me that I watched Netflix's The Sea Beast entirely to imagine the mc as Stede, and honestly, having rhys voice him and goof him up would have only improved the film tbh (but it was a great film, do recommend for ofmd fans)
unlabelledView post →The studios insisted on a “love interest” to supposedly appeal to women who might want to go to the movie. In this case, Joan Bennett. This was a remake of the silent The Sea Beast (‘26) also with Barrymore, where the love interest was Dolores Costello. Ridiculous.
unlabelledView post →Another "Lightyear" hit piece. I can't figure why people have it in for this movie. I really enjoyed it: it was my joint #8 ranked movie for 2022 (with "The Sea Beast"). It is truly the perfect movie in his opinion, romance, amazing combat, epic questing and friendships, and a happy ending. Jaina: The Sea Beast. It's beautiful,

unlabelledView post →Just finished watching The Sea Beast on Netflix; good film, a little predictable, but nice anti-capitalist message woven in there. On the other hand, I really want to be playing Sundered Isles right now...
