It's in the new special edition of THE INVASION (2007) from @arrowvideo.bsky.social, and it's all about the film's disturbing interpretation of "body snatching" as a form of misogyny, and the bizarre but fitting behind-the-scenes story of its release.

unlabelledView post →Since I reviewed the other three I figured it was time to revisit THE INVASION (2007), the flawed big budget update starring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig that was famously reworked with scenes written by the Wachowskis.

And I SO ENJOYED getting to see this film, after close to decades of it not having crossed my bow! The only real "aging" for me was in terms of style, cinema and musical.

THE INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS has been remade directly a number of times (I think the last true remake was just INVASION...I sort of like how they keep cutting words out of the title. :P), and remains a compelling premise for conspiracy and suspense.
