Honka frequents the seedy bar "The Golden Glove" where he preys on vulnerable women, leading to a string of gruesome murders that shock the community'

unlabelledView post →What's a horror film that more people should be aware of? Der Goldene Handschuh (The Golden Glove) Based on real life German serial killer Fritz Honka. You can almost smell this film, and you feel greasy after watching it. It pulls no punches and glamourises nothing, but is bloody good

Fritz's home is disgusting, with stashed body parts hidden in wall cavities. You can almost smell this film #filmsky #horrorsky

unlabelledView post →Watched The Golden Glove (Der Goldene Handschuh) 2019 Great film but, oh boy, it’s the grubbiest film I’ve seen in a long time. It revels in it. It’s pitched as a horror comedy but you’d need a very particular sense of humour to find it funny. However, its bleakness is beautifully realised.

The scenes involving prostitutes are legendary & the gore/horror effects are solid. 8/10, @letterboxd.social review below. #horror #germanhorror boxd.it/95vIN1
unlabelledView post →The Golden Glove directed by Fatih Akin is a true horror movie, the horror that mortal men can do. An abusive brute attracts and brutalizes women in 70s West Germany. Not for the squeamish, but if you can stand it, this movie will keep you enthralled. www.imdb.com/title/tt7670...

If you can get passed the utter squalor & horror of the first 30 minutes, well then you’re in for another hour more… True story of a serial killer in miserable 70’s Germany. It’s a hard watch, it’s grotesque, it’s going to give me nightmares.
unlabelledView post →I think I loved The Golden Glove. More so for the way it captures a time and place than the serial killer stuff (tho it's one gnarly flick)
unlabelledView post →Now watching The Golden Glove, 2019
unlabelledView post →This film slaps man, so sweaty and nasty. Love it. Have you seen The Golden Glove?
unlabelledView post →I just watched Der Goldene Handschuh (The Golden Glove) and wow, I'm kind of speechless. It's a really good movie and it's absolutely no fun to watch. It's about a German serial killer and it takes in the 1970s in Hamburg and boy, the sets are AMAZING as are the actors. 1/2
unlabelledView post →The entirely convincing Jonas Dassler is almost unrecognisable here in this really quite uncomfortable to watch story of sexual and societal depravity. He is Honka, a man who lives in an attic room where he on occasion entertains ladies of all ages, shapes and sizes that he has either encountered in his favourite bar ("The Golden Glove") or on the street - often quite literally, or just about anywhere else their search for booze might take them. A bit like "Sweeney Todd", though - these women…
positive · AI labelView post →Finally saw the German film The Golden Glove in spite of all the bad reviews it got, and I thought it was pretty good. Think of a cross between Barfly and Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. Jonas Dassler turned in a stunning performance. #goldenglove #jonasdassler youtu.be/vQpQ2rWFlYc?...

unlabelledView post →The only good one of these is the german movie, The Golden Glove, specifically because they make the guy as ugly and despicable as humanly possible and I think that's the only acceptable way to go about it
unlabelledView post →My pal @anarchyridge.com.au and I have blabbered about some more films. This time we talk crime movies. Specifically the stylistic 2005 high school noir flick Brick and grimy German 2019 true crime film The Golden Glove. So if you're in the mood for some kino talk, give us a listen!
unlabelledView post →Just watched a film called the Golden Glove on Mubi. About German serial killer Fritz Honka. Jaysus. Makes Silence of the Lambs look like The Sound of Music. 🥴
unlabelledView post →366 Days of Film: Day 330 - Short Sharp Shock (1998). “He wants to grow up & we’re holding him back.” Gabriel is out of prison & determined to go straight. An established crime trope, but writer-director Fatih Akin (The Golden Glove) is more interested in developing his multicultural characters.
unlabelledView post →OK, this movie got TRASHED when it came out a few years ago, so I feel I have to speak up. Just saw Fatih Akin's THE GOLDEN GLOVE (German: Der Goldene Handschuh) and I think it's a fucking brilliant horror movie. This is a nasty, vile story about a nasty, vile person doing nasty, vile things.

unlabelledView post →‘The Golden Glove’ (2019) Greasy, grim but a solid and well made film detailing the crimes of German serial killer Fritz Honka. Uncomfortable at times, squalid and brutal much in the vein of ‘Henry..’ Excellent performances all round, not everyone’s cup of tea but worth a watch.
unlabelledView post →I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on “The Golden Glove” (2019), if you’ve watched it. One of the most brutal, raw movies I’ve ever seen, but it was like a car wreck—I couldn’t turn away. Not my preferred genre of horror, to say the least. #TheGoldenGlove
unlabelledView post →I watch movies for a lot of different sensations, but “visceral nausea“ is not on the list. 'The Golden Glove' is a well-shot film (despite a deliberately grotesque aesthetic) that might be fun for transgression hungry viewers. I'm not that edgy - to me, this film is nothing more than a solipsistic group analysis session in which the audience is held hostage, believing there's a point to it all. - Jake Watt Read Jake's full article...…
