I backed this game on Kickstarter and was very excited as I got to play the demo and just got the full game yesterday. I didn't want to say that I don't reccommend it...but I also can't say I recommend it. I finished the game in 52 minutes and that was with intentionally taking my time to enjoy the enviroments. Pros: Beautiful enviroment!!! The city and then the forest, both wonderful! About a fox! And it controlled smoothly once I rebinded the keys. Neat story and concept.…

I read all the reviews before buying The End. I knew all the criticisms going in, but I thought that the game looked beautiful and that there could still be something here to enjoy. I've played janky games before and had fun. This isn't a game like that. The environment is absolutely stunning, but the gameplay, what little I was able to play, is just not there. The fox's movement is also really jerky and not pleasant to watch. I wasn't able to play much of this game, but let me describe what…

Short version: 52% This game has astonishing graphics and a great cyberpunk atmosphere, but lacks in level design, mechanics, and playtime. It is highly recommended for those who prefer a more artistic experience. Long version: The End: Inari’s Quest probably falls into the category of exploration games, with a hefty dose of visual showcase. Although it has two stages, the second one is a single-room switch hunt, so the bulk of the content concentrates on the initial level. While it looks…

Quick review. Nice looking environments and a neat idea having to transport the kit without it dying from psycho rad rats. The puzzles are quite good as well. However, the game's controls need some work especially when turning left and right. A more analogue control scheme would make it more user friendly. You therefore have to wrestle with the controls which takes away the enjoyment from the game. This is a tough recommend basically because it has some neat ideas which in the short time to…

Adventure game in which you play as a fox in a cyberpunk city full of robots, trying to escape while protecting your cubs ✅For a low-budget game, the graphics are excellent in this game ✅Interesting mechanics ,you have to protect your cubs while solving puzzles and use feigned death to remain undetected ❌The controls are terrible, meaning the lack of standard WASD controls ❌The life system doesnt build tension, you have three lives, but you can easily regain them by simply sleeping. As a…

This game has a review period limitation set to discourage negative commits, so if you are having difficulty posting a review that is why. Published 2018 with only a handful of reviews? Want a validation of the quality of this game? = Look at the duration of gameplay from each review. This does not constitute a game. I did not play for an hour. I adjusted the settings for 20 minutes, finished the "sample concept" in 15, and tried to find anything else appealing the remainder of the…

Amazing environment, very easy to get emerged in - one can feel the distopia and the work that has been put in to the scenery! A true masterpiece! Sadly the controls are a bit wanky, first of you need to rebind them since nobidy can walk around with QEYC - seriously consided to tag along with the standarts WASD. It is also dificult to walk left / right and you will find yourselve mostly steering with the mouse while holding W (or Y?), wich sadly takes alot away from the athmosphere since you…

The End: Inari's Quest is a shining example of why, if you ever see a game on Kickstarter, you should run far, far away from it. The game scraped through the Kickstarter goalpost with a $5000 budget, and man, I don't know what they did with the money. In fairness, the game visuals look fantastic... and that's it. The quality of every other aspect of the game drops sharply, from technical implementation through to a plethora of questionable design choices. Before we get into the specifics,…

Don’t get me wrong. The sci-fi atmosphere is great. The graphics are good and the music fits the ambience. BUT the gameplay is boring af. I know, it’s only the first episode, but why would anyone want to play this? It is a fox-walking simulator. In addition, the controls aren’t fluid. What you see in the trailer is basically the whole game. Don’t buy this. It might get better when you are able to play the full game, but for now, it is a waste of money.

I don't want to sound like an alarmist, but apparently after this corona thing goes away the world is going to go all cyberpunk. With everyone at home, 'automation' and 'robots' will be the new buzz word, that is until the robot uprising begins killing us all. We should have seen it coming, but apparently, we were all too busy getting rid of all the national parks in the world where bats and animals could be, bulldozing them for the next pretty neon shanty town we can erect. There must also be…

I really wanted to like this game. I had it on my wishlist, and it really is atmospherically beautiful. The art and sound design are both there, but unfortunately the rest of the game is very much not. The controls are terrible, be it because the default keybindings don't make any sense, or because they just don't even work correctly in game, playing this is a chore. There is a near constant screen tearing effect, I have a decent computer, but playing this there's screen tearing any time I…

This game drew me in because hey, cyberpunk and foxes! That's a combination! Initial thoughts; the game is beautiful. Aesthetically, a lot of time has been spent on making every little nook and cranny fit in. The fox looks believable in the way she runs, although the pouncing onto rats takes more than a little practice due to camera angles. Control wise, it takes some getting used to. Fiddling with the settings and using WASD and the mouse for turning as you move feels a lot more natural. The…

It looks good, the atmosphere is nice and all. However it might take you like 30-40min to finish it the first time, and then you can do it in 5 minutes... Extremely short. Positive review for the art and style, not for the length. (wouldn't buy it full price)

I liked the game because I bought it on humble bundle for a really low price with the promotion (2-3€). However, I can't recommend it at it's full price (9,99€). I finished the game in more or less 40 minutes, this is not really the play time I would expect for a 10€ game. The game itself is good, it offers a good cyberpunk atmosphere, a simple but effective gameplay. The game is also really beautiful! And it is running well on my PC ( I7 7700, 1070 TI, it helps :p ) However, it lacks some…

When I bought 'The End: Inari's Quest' for 28 pence in the Plug In Digital sale - I understood the criticisms going into the game, but it looked weird enough to draw me in to whatever the hell this game is. The game is a single player adventure, where you play as a fox in a long overtaken, cyberpunk world. The graphics are nice for a game so cheap, and the environments include subways, tunnels, streets, apartments, corridors and ... Squares?! To see the rest of my review, watch here! :…

IDK why everyone is complaining about the controls. All you had to do is remap them and voila! for such a cheap price a lot games don't even have a keybind setting available. The animations are smooth as heck but the enemy AI could definitely use some work. Alot of parts are unpolished like the death screen and various camera movements but overall a nice game for the price nonetheless. TLDR: Nice short fox simulator.

I really wanted to recommend this game, love the setting, the music, colours and most of all: foxes. However the game doesn't even contain 1 hour of gameplay, even with exploring and the controls are wonky. Same for objects, walls, collision. The game glitches out and just doesn't feel finished or even polished (be prepared for weird and bad english instructions). When getting to the end it states that there soon will be more, but for now this game definitely isn't worth the money. :(

This game has serious flaws; if you overlook them it's a fun diversions worth 30 minutes of your time, so definitely only consider on sale! The environment is fantastic looking, that's pretty much the main reason to play it. There are actual puzzles but they are poorly described. The main thing to understand and should have been explained explicitly by the game is that the floor buttons can only be triggered by specific objects (items or NPCs). The other thing to know is hold on to your "cub"…

I was a kickstarter backer for this. I was excited because the concept seemed pretty interesting. I know my playtime is low for a review but I have gone back more then once and still can't with it. The art and feel of the game is amazing. I love the dystopian cyberpunkish feel of it all. The mdel of the fox is pretty good as well. There is just really not a lot to to do that kept me interested. It feels like something that is put in early access that has a year or more out before full…

30 minutes of pure confusion. Fun game but not worth 4€ Pros: 1. Good looking environment Cons: 1. Bad controls (Default binding is ZSQD not WASD) and rebinding is a work out. 2. Very short 3. information hard to read due to text constantly flickering 4. WHERE DID MY CHILD GO??? THE BABY JUST DISAPPEARS MID WAY THROUGH THE GAME??

NOTE: I backed this on kickstarter This is an odd one. Its more an "experience" than a game and its flawed (controls are poor even on controller, gameplay lacks direction and its very short) but it has amazing atmosphere, the graphics and music create a stunning cyberpunk world All i can say is i dont regret backing or playing it. And its a shame that it coudnt have been a longer, better game
