41 of 41 · most liked firstVault Cracker runs at 800x600 and feels as if 2001 came calling. It took me about 4 hours to play on advanced, using at most one hint per scene. As a hidden object game, it is mediocre, with the genre's all too common collage of objects not constrained by scale, gravity, or even common sense. Vault cracking is very minor: you get 5 simple logic puzzles in all. The most intersting part of the game are the 5 minigames where you eliminate people from a picture based on given criteria such as "is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boing game that never seems to get intresting, even the female voice actor sounds way too bored. 9/10 of the situations you need to find objects in a big room and this combined with not even a real engine (They use Adobe) makes it not worth the €5 (Not even the €2,49 i paid for it at the sale) €0,99 would be a buy.. I guess though. EDIT: There is not much Vault cracking either... EDIT2: I don't know why my steam says "0 hours on record"
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short version: 67% Vault Cracker is a very low-resolution, really old-school hidden object game with an astonishingly good storyline. Long version: It’s really hard to write a review on Vault Cracker: The Last Safe, because it’s incredibly good and incredibly bad at the same time. The story is excellent; a heist thriller that could easily hold on its own in a modern action adventure game, or even in a movie. It is also devoid of all supernatural elements– something that is almost never seen…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: Lots of puzzles Not expensive (If you get it on sale or with a coupon) Difficulty choice at beginning Cons: Game takes forever to quit (makes it ahrd to shut down Steam) Low resolution graphics Gets repetitive Gender stereotypes Game glitches (but they did not stop the gameplay) Overall, an average example of a hidden object game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fairly poor low res HOG by these developers ( http://www.gogiigames.com/about/ ). Since the games release on Steam it has been reported to have a nasty string of reported bugs and I myself ran into them from chapter three onwards. So saving your game constantly is a must, unless you love restarting the game from the beginning. Each HOG scene requires you to find an assortment of listed objects from scenes that look like a tonne of grenades have gone off in an op shop. With the low res and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bugs, glitches and no support make this game a no-buy! Would be a quite nice and solid hidden object game, if it weren´t for the glitches and story bugs. I already played some other games from the same dev without any issues, but this one only arouses despair. No matter which forum I visited, all had the same problems. Asking for bug fixes was never answered by devs. Although it may not be an expensive game, I expect it to work properly
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I Am Thoroughly Enjoying This Game Because I Have A Thing About Cracking Safe Locks...Even Though It's Clearly Not High Definition Graphics By Watching The Video, But You Push Past Comparing The Graphics And The Minor Faults This Is Actually A Perfect For Anyone With A Low Grapically Engineered PC Or Laptop That Wants To Play A Non-Fighting Relaxed Thinking Game. Maybe One Day There Will Be A 3D Version Of This Game. 10 Out Of 10 Brilliant Game!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really disappointed with this game, it looked like really good hidden objects game until, i got to chapter 3 and the bookshelf glitch in the senators office, if you want to waste money on a game that you cannot complete then be my guest but honestly, dont bother
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another hidden object game like the other hundreds of games of the same genre. According to Steam, Vault Cracker was released in May 2014, yet the graphics look like the game is from around 2001. There's a little story of a woman who's son is kidnapped... all pretty basic. There are minipuzzles like cracking safes, trying to find the right person in a crowd through hints and lockpicking. Personally, Hidden Object games aren't really my cup of tea but there are better games of this genre. It…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Average hidden object game, story is not half bad. The gameplay can get a bit boring though, especially seeing all the silly steps Melissa has to go through to get anywhere. And the dress up feature is completely useless. Granted, there is a plot reason for it but it still adds nothing to the game. Graphics are meh but still not a bad game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →About average difficulty for these types of games, when set on Advanced. One bad bug: don't exit the game from a tight-focus hidden-object scene or it will forget whet you've found.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →an old school HOG with a decent story but annoyingly repetitive. pros. nice story ok voice acting cons. short... around 2:40 hours low resolution bugs with the audio and cannot close the game even with task manager! very repetitive all tasks are the same clicky crap... yes all HOGs are clicky but this one....is special...... the only thing which made me force my self to finish this game was the story... but the ending was predictable.... sunshine overall i do not recommend this game.... it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Basic premise. Play as Melissa, find her son and his kidnapper. You’re presented with a safe-cracking puzzle that is so simple after completing hidden-object and find person scene.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A full on HOG game. I didn't encounter any game breaking bugs during my play through. Sometimes the object's still marked red even though you have it in your inventory, but you can use it anyway, that's about it. Enjoyed the ride.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is SEVERELY BROKEN! I am able to start it up and play okay, though the graphics look extremely dated (1980 called and said KEEP their graphics). This is normally not a problem if the gameplay is decent. It was just okay. The rough part was exiting the game. After exiting, Steam still showed the game as running. This was very likely as my two monitor desktop resolution was completely messed up. I could not find the process in Task Manager to stop, even on the Details tab.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is actually enjoyable with a fast pacing and good story, good voice acting, repetitive but fun hog scenes and easy mini games. however its also buggy, glitchy broken mess and constantly crashes. i could hardly finish because of these technical problems and this hog game is hardly playable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a point and click/hidden object casual game with a safe cracking theme. Unfortunately the game is capped at 800x600 despite being released on Steam in 2014. To compound the problem, the game displays incorrectly under Windows 10 on high resolution monitors. I can't recommend broken software.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute - but very, very bugged. Since it's auto-saving your progress, a bugged save is useless.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I guess I did not read the description very well as I was expecting more of an adventure/puzzle game. This is almost purely a hidden object game where you click on various objects on your check list for no reason at all. Either way, there isn't much of an "adventure" aspect except in following along with the plot and mission objectives. These seem to involve you fixing various objects like some kind of repairman and picking out a dozen or so particular objects from a room before throwing away…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked the gameplay and 4:3 perspectibe doesn't really ruin the experience and game is playable. Fairly unique technics of gameplay makes it something good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it crashes all the time and when i try and stop it i cant
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Low quality HO game. Everything is pretty low res and not very pretty. Release date says 2014 on Steam, but there are solutions from 2010 on the web and the game is probably even older and it shows. It has some nice ideas to mix things up, but the HO screens are not that fun to solve. Too bland, too many items, so that you can even click every item and solve most of the scene without getting a penalty. Has also plenty of minor bugs towards the end. Locations marked wrongly as inaccesible, items…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The good. Interesting take on the HOG genre that doesn't involve the supernatural for a change, (Although you are looking for your kid again ... *sigh*) , where you play a master thief who needs to come out of retirement for one last job. Original story-line with lots of voice acting. Lots of HO scenes, that have HO scenes within HO scenes, and inventory items are also used within the HO scenes. Some object elimination scenes which were different. The bad. The graphics are average to below…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How to do I get this game to play. evertime I try and pkay it frezze. This game sucks......
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Filled with glitches. Inventory items disappear, cursor goes inactive, can't pick up objects etc. etc.. Only paid 50 cents but what the hey it wasted my time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hidden object game. You are a retired burglar/safecracker travelling with your son, until he's kidnapped and you receive a demand to do a job. Don disguises, find ways into locations, and solve puzzles to open safes, in order to satisfy the kidnapper's demands. And perhaps identify the kidnapper. This game hasn't aged well. It doesn't allow resolution to be specified, and its idea of "full screen" on my laptop is a quarter of the screen. It feels like it should be running in Dosbox. Most…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Keeps crashing Unable to complete the game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's wall to wall hidden object scenes but I was enjoying it. Unfortunately, when I load the game the scene is all white and I can't progress cause I don't know where to click. The game also has a hard time exiting, you need to force quit it through steam.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →♥♥♥♥ game, slow, laggy, full of spelling mistakes, just no
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful artwork. I did not have to change the contrast in order to find the hidden objects. Voice acting was good. Interface was smooth. I had to run a compatibility test to get it to run full screen, but no problem. It crashed on a safe puzzle after I solved it and clicked on the inside of the safe. When I reloaded the game, it simply picked up to the point right after the safe puzzle, so no problem there. Great story line! The main character was very interesting, and I would enjoy more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →enjoyed the hidden object game of extras
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked the navigation method, the puzzles to get into the safes and vault, and the hidden object screens were good. It was a good mix of an interesting story line and hidden object scenes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tags: Adventure - WC - Walk Clicker Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Shovelware. Possibly broken as I got stuck in scripting while trying to progress. Storymode was not disappointing with compulsive thief protagonist Its an attempt at a storymode hidden object game. You navigate the environment. Puzzles are simply filling inventory with items scattered around for logical modification of environment for progression. Unfortunately the plot does not make much…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not happy as the game screen goes blank and freezes whilst playing, couldnt exit without using task manager
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent little game. Nothing really amazing, but what it did, it did well. Good HOG with well drawn environments. The voice acting was a nice surprise and pacing was handled well. Short but organized, each story piece was fleshed out and logical. Overall an easy 3 hours blown and considering it goes on sale fairly often it's a worthwhile grab for fans of the genre. As a sidenote I liked the chapter interludes where you got to choose the player character's gear and look, nice addition into the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i bought it as a joke. it wasnt even funny. 0/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Could not complete the game, because there was a bug in it. It was also a bit boring, because it was much of the same. 3/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like this game.I enjoyd playing it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The puzzles where you were trying to find a single person in a crowd was entertaining. The hidden object puzzles themselves were frustrating and uninteresting. The mini games were so simple they were kind of insulting.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed this game. It has many layers and depth to it. I acknowledge it is geared more toward those of us of the feminine persuasion due to the clothing choice segments of the game. If this doesn't deter you (and you can choose to ignore it) then I believe it is still a very engaging game for all HOG fans.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, good story. You play an ex vault cracker robber who moves on with her life, but her son gets kidnapped and she has to do a new heist to save him. But you still have your old connections and skills. Have fun in this hidden object, puzzle fun. I recommend.
