I finished The Quarry! I had played most of The Dark Pictures Anthology games and wasn't a big fan at all, but this finally feels like a return to what Until Dawn was. It's a teen supernatural slasher game with a great cast and a solid story! I also managed to keep everyone alive 🫡🫡 Super fun!

Little Hope was an enjoyable Sunday play for me, where I could easily pause between scenes to tend to the family. I streamed it from my PC to Steam Deck and was very enjoyable played handheld. 8020 has the best tension and intrigue of the bunch, at least until a poor final chapter, and the characters felt layered in meaningful ways. Also it's the day after and I'm still thinking about the game which is a massive W for The Dark Pictures Anthology (shocked this series is still going)

The ending completely ruins the game, making everything up to that point completely meaningless. The character trait system is also stupid though, since the game will just kill your characters if you haven't removed certain traits by the end - a system which is never actually explained and made no sense to me whatsoever. Without those two issues, it could actually have been a pretty good game.

Temu Silent Hill 2. Having said that, it's not bad, just not great. I didn't mind the big controversial twist as much as others seemed to, but you could feel the lower budget compared to Until Dawn and even the other Dark Pictures games. Way too much slow wandering and repeating the same stuff from idiotic characters, and some of the scenes made no sense based on what had happened on the previous one, due to the issues with the branching storylines. At one point you are being chased by…

After playing Little Hope four times in a row, I’m honestly still impressed by how much this game reveals only when you revisit it. For me, this is one of those titles that’s clearly designed for multiple playthroughs, where connecting clues and uncovering secrets becomes part of the fun. Some players might find the ending “flat,” but for me it actually became a motivation to look even closer on my next run. The psychological horror works well on the first playthrough, but it becomes far…

Every game in the Dark Pictures Anthology would be improved by having one skeptical dialogue option that just goes, "What is this, some kind of anthology of dark pictures?"

You just might go schizo (almost like the MC) with everything that's going on with this game. Honestly, it felt like a waste of time by the end. Lousy animations, terrible dialogues, crappy controls, bugs and occasional connection problems in the multiplayer. The story is somewhat good. Up till the midpart of the game it actually holds your attention, but after that - constant overall stupidity in characters' actions and in the way the story is told you just can't take it seriously anymore.…

The atmosphere and the monsters are unsettling, but the main characters are uninteresting. The storyline is just boring and not worth seeing through to the end. The only other thing that's good about this game is one supporting character, Vince. I wanted to know and see more of his story. Instead I got stuck with 5 annoying MCs for 5 hours.

There were hardly any jumpscares and the demons were not even scary at all. They look like some goofy ass clowns tbh. But the thing I loved about the game most is the ENDING. Didn't expected it. Also loved the desolate town, deep woods, flashbacks and witch trials elements. Played all four of them and of all the things If you’re on the fence, consider this your sign to go and play it coz this is the best Dark Picture Anthology game of the series.

Though it has an interesting story, the clunky cutscene take away from the immersion. What do you mean you're like miles away from the creature and the next second it's right beside you. It's just sad that none of your inputs matter if you just choose one singular wrong option. this just feels like a disaster.

TLDR: A great ending, but otherwise unappealing. PROS: ➕Graphics ➕Ending NEUTRALS: 🔹Breaks its own plot rules (Fog/group split up) CONS: ➖Cheap jump scares ➖Terrible movement and camera ➖Bugs/technical issues ➖Cringe characters and reactions to events ➖Poor pacing Content (Game world/Narrative) – [7/10] The game world takes place in the fictional town of Little Hope, a seemingly abandoned town from the 70’s. 3/10, QTE attack hitboxes are slightly janky and in weird places sometimes, interesting story but not executed as well as it could've been, also the ending i got was super anticlimactic and ended pretty abruptly. The big reveal at the end also makes the game feel kinda pointless

This game feels unfinished. LIke all the combat action sequences happen in the blink of an eye...like there is no lead up, just a less than one second clip, then maybe another tiny followup clip, then the characters are talking to each other again. It's very confusing and they all happen that way. Speaking of the combat action sequences they are all quicktime events which....want you to fail so much they don't really tell you what you are supposed to do. It flashes a symbol that doesn't tell…

Little Hope? More like no hope. ★☆☆☆☆ Disappointment / Honest Waste of Time This game is just a disappointment — an honest waste of time. It’s more of a walking simulator through fog than anything else, and it’s ridden with game-breaking bugs. The choices feel like they don’t make any difference no matter what you pick, and honestly, they don’t. Characters die for no reason most of the time, which is just frustrating. Just wasted four and a half hours of my life on this slopfest to run in to a reticle bug when saving a certain someone with a certain gun. So just watched the rest of the game on YouTube. The ending is beyond lame and literally makes all decisions pointless. Keeping the characters alive is also pointless. Absolute slop. these Dark Pictures games are horrible. The dialogue is dumb as hell, the characters look uncanny and are not interesting at all, and the choices are just whatever. Most of the time, you end up losing characters because you missed some stupid QTE rather than because of any meaningful decision. I was literally watching Twitch on my second monitor just to keep myself entertained, and somehow I was still bored. Apparently, this is the best game in the series. If that's the case,…

4/10 A pioneer in wasting your time with a storyline that can accurately be reduced to "old man yells at cloud", this is by far the weakest of the DPA games. The only good thing was the atmosphere, even though the town you're meant to explore really just feels like a single street with a single POI and not much else. Skip this one unless you're a deeply curious person (with 4-5 hours to waste).

God awful the ending has no payoff and kills the investment you've built in the character undermining all the decisions you've made. Even the good ending was bad, the bad ending was better in my opinion. No emotional payoff at the end, the end just ruins the experience completely, both me and my father who played this together agree.

Little Hope starts strong with a great cast of characters that are easy to get invested in, and the plot kept me hooked the whole way through. The atmosphere is tense, and the monster design is genuinely creepy and memorable. I really appreciated how the story slowly unraveled and kept building mystery. Unfortunately, the ending completely ruined the experience for me and made the journey feel pointless. It’s a solid ride until the final moments, which left me more frustrated than satisfied.

Very disappointed with this one. 𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘏𝘰𝘱𝘦 starts strong with some great atmosphere and tension building. Over the hours of gameplay, this tension is dissolved through illogical character interactions and a TERRIBLE ending. I probably wouldn't have finished the game if I hadn't already purchased it.
