This isn't skill and doesn't belong in a tennis game. Avoid this at all costs and buy Tennis Elbow 2013, still the best tennis game ever made!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Much better than the reviews say. The better you get at the game, the more realistic the tennis becomes. I've played a lot of Top Spin 4 which is considered the best, still. I think this is a valid upgrade.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →CHANGED TO NOT RECOMMENDED **Human vs Human gameplay = Sometimes fun, but frustration because of lack of control hurts the experience** **Human vs CPU or human vs human gameplay on expert = Broken (You can't even swing at most shots coming at you, even if the ball is hit right next to you)** Here is some human vs human gameplay. Nadal vs Federer (I am Nadal) - This is on Very Hard difficulty https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OrudgRbt3A&t=166s **Some major problems exist with the gameplay**…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My first look/overview can be found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18dYyc0TNgo Having only played for just over an hour, I have to say there was more I disliked than enjoyed about the game. The game seems to want to force your player into animations even if you don't press a button. This combined with the timing elements of shots means it's impossible to get into a rhythm. As an example, if you tap the button you do a weaker more accurate shot, if you hold down the button you do a more…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Better than the reviews suggest by far, however they are somewhat accurate in their complaints, and I think some dev work on it could help improve it. Even as-is I think it's good as a tennis game past the initial hump, and as a game in general I think it's passable. Specific points: 1. "I can never release the button at the right time, it's random!" The timing mechanic is difficult to grasp, because it is "release a button 'at the right time'" ..with not enough feedback on when the 'right…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the new system, the animation is not perfect though. The transition should be made fluid. Gameplay, not the best but not bad either like others are saying. Better than AO series and TWT1. Wish to have more camera angle selections. Yes I recommend this to others.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tennis world tour 2 is actually called AO tennis 3. Why? Beacose basic mehanics, timing, movement of the players, animations, ball speed, ridiculus unbalanced different type of shots are inherited from AO tennis, wich comes handy for the programers, since developers are the same guys who made AO franchise. This game when it comes to gameplay, has nothing in common from its predecessor, in fact it is completely AO cover. So, if u didnt like AO tennis, u prolly wont like this one either. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let me be a voice of reason here. I've read the other reviews for this game and I feel like those that wrote them have severe mental instabilities. Seeing as this is an early review, I will be brief and update as I play to better reflect this game. As it stands, this game is good. It's a HUGE step up from the first Tennis World Tour. Better animations, better sound, and overall better feel. It stills suffers from bad polish, similar to the first entry, but progress has been made. The new serve…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was just okay. Although I don't have that much time on the game, I will try to give the most in-depth review that I can based on some of the things that I saw while playing it. Most of these will be comparisons to Topspin 4 but hope this helps for people that may be on the fence. Pros- Forehand and two handed backhand groundstrokes look good and the developers did a great job with the actual players animation. Volleys are much smoother than topspin and is a big upgrade in my…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yes, at the time of this review, I only have 40 minutes played, but I can most definitely say, that this game, is a great game. I compare this game to PES, even though PES is the "same" as Fifa, PES has a more realistic feel to it and it's a lot harder to master. AO Tennis 2 is a fantastic tennis game, but it's more friendly and easy to get used too. Tennis World Tour 2, has a more realistic feel and it's a lot harder to master, even on its most easiest difficulty. The graphics are incredible.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Initial Impression - A joyless career mode that I'm just not having any fun playing. I am actually a big fan of AO by the same devs, and even got a little bit of fun out of the patched up TWT... but this feels joyless - such a shame as I really wanted to like it. Technically it's far better at launch that TWT (not hard I know) but even then, I've had one crash to desktop in 90 mins played. I can see remnants of the AO player creator but its a cut down experience with less flexibility and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the game with no cards which is great. Otherwise very glitchy and not enjoyable when the game devs have not fixed issues that have been around since day one! If the game had regular updates, I would highly suggest this game but with how things have been for the last 6 months, I wouldn't hold my breath. EDIT: As of 02/05/2021 I had a look at the recent updates and these are a MASSIVE improvement. It is still clunky in some aspects and graphically unimpressive but the gameplay has gone…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →well for nearly an hour of gameplay i think i can say is that it's sucks at the Best! and it's not fun to keep getting hit back when your serve is good but the return is even better so it's not fun for those who have good serve! I will return this game because it's not the game i'm looking for!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is mostly a buggy mess, with no real substance of replicating a real life Tennis pace, physics and movement. It plays like a PowerPoint presentation with no freedom of movement and shot making. These AA games are disappointing and good to avoid.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Developers have just abandoned the game, the game does not even start. Waste of money. Do not buy anything from this developer, they are cheaters.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awful game, controls, serve, phisics, zero online, useless cards that you need to activate every time which add +7enengy, +3% power to topspin or +5% accuracy, this RPG ♥♥♥♥ in tennis game just to waste your time. And even on easy difficulty Federer losing to everyone, AI making aces on their serve and on your too, every their hit is to the corner, while every yours hit you can never predict where this garbage game will decide to land. Do not buy this even on sale, if you want so much get first…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played almost 100h now and i like it a lot. Ok the card system is garbage, but can make sense to progress faster in carrier mode and you can put it off, just fix the bugs on this. (sometimes fun with speed of light serves) Some animations still are a bit weird specially when you defend and you teleport sangoku's style, pretty hard to get the timing right in that situation. But overall the sensations are great, you feel like you are playing tennis. Even if it's no TS4, really my favorite since i…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's too hard! I can't even win a single set in very easy difficulty, my very first frustrating game.... I still play it because I like the graphics even knowing I'm going to lose all matches.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ended up returning the game. It was not worth the price reduction; way too hard and awful game play. Going to probably go with Tennis Elbow 4.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ball physics make absolutely no sense. They'll run up to the net and hit under the ball and then the ball goes blasting away at 100 mph.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sure it's not perfect and the card system is just plain retarded - Is it the the best tennis game going around atm? By a long shot. Huge improvement over TW1 and the AO series. I have no problem with the speed and animations. I don't think most people have ever played or watched a game of tennis before! Game has huge potential and I hope they continue to support it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's bad and very clunky.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Movement is horrible
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →AO Tennis 2 is better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Please do not buy this game. The gameplay is awful, and the graphics are terrible for a game developed in 2020. Waste of money...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Postscript on October 31, 2020 I will add to my review as they are having a sale now. The "drastic update" hasn't come yet!! That's all. The following is my original review, on October 3, 2020. ------- First of all... If you're looking for a "REALISTIC TENNIS EXPERIENCE", I wouldn't recommend this game. Possibly, it will get a drastic update and get better, but at this time (October 2, 2020), it won't satisfy you. Right now, it's more of an outrageous rhythm game, than a tennis simulator.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's some potential but overall it's a mess... again. - Shots frequently still don't match the input. You'll get a slice shot when you've press for top spin or a flat shot when you want a slice etc. and this happens even when you've supposedly timed the shot as "good" or "perfect". - Pro players seemingly have no identity or specific animations other than Nadal. Even Federer has a generic serve and swings, and NO ONE has realistic or personalised celebrations. For a game that wants to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cant recommend the game at the moment. The ball moving too fast during unrelated animations, no signature shots. backhand slice is not even the right animation. The biggest issue of the game is the ball speed and animations. The new shot mechanic is a good direction but when the animation doesnt match its getting clunky and cheap. I mean, you could have invested more in NADALS and FEDERERS animations, the serve doesnt even look like its the actual player. When an opponent hits a drop shot the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A huge turd this game deserve the trash award. The dev should be sentence to jail ! SHAME ON YOU
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have been a tennis fan my whole life: I have played Virtua Tennis, Top Spin, Grand Slam Tennis, Dream Match Tennis Pro, and Tennis Elbow. Having played TWT2 game for an hour after buying it, I can say it's just not worth the money at all for the features you gain. I chose to buy this over AO Tennis because I really prefer the realistic and deep learning curve that Top Spin or Tennis Elbow provided, yet this one is nowhere near their caliber at all if you are looking for realistic and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely cannot recommend someone purchase this game. The developers followed the same pattern of silence with the community and did not push an update past April 23 and have not communicated to the community. There are a myriad of bugs, online wasn't working upon release, auto hit functions. Difficulty levels that just didn't make any sense. Easy was hard sometimes, yet normal was ridiculously hard at the beginning of your career. The training got to the point it was impossible to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Take Top Spin 4's control scheme exactly, remove all the polish put into it and you get this. Viciously clunky controls and a career mode with a massive difficulty spike right at the beginning. It's amazing how poor this game feels, even compared to last year's AO Tennis 2. AO Tennis 2 also has features that TWT2 doesn't have, like a stadium editor and decal sharing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible animations the same ones over and over again and the characters feel stuck in them. They really need to go back to the top spin series to see what was right. This was better than the first but still way worse than top spin.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(EDITED) Ridiculous ball speed again like AO2 (in the release version) and velocity in general! EDITED#2: AO Tennis 2 at its launch had a very strange ball speed, but revisiting the game now it seems that they fixed it, the game seems very fluid and with a cadence of a tennis party as it should be, I hope you do the same with TWT2! Because in this game here, the rallies don't look like rallies from a tennis match, the points earned are no fun to do or enjoy, no effort is needed! As in AO…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great tennis game, realistic plays, beatutiful graphics. Really liked
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really underwhelming. It is unpleasant to play. Does not present any trace of reality, besides the serving styles and the grunts. It has so many issues that is not worth listing. No interesting player roster (such as Justine Henin, rare player out there) can fix the terrible gameplay.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They really were able to eff up the controls in a Tennis Game. Thats some next level game development. And when the first things you will get is a "tutorial" about cards and how you can buy them within the game you know the game will be bad. The first Tennis World Tour wasn't great but this is just an insult. I needed to look up a Youtube video for the tutorial, that how sad this game is. The tutorial doesn't explain anything and it doesn't work most of the time. I spent ~30 minutes on a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Movement quite clunky, player doesn't really respond. I enjoyed the first version of this game a lot more, and that's saying something, see as the first one was decent at best. Wish i did more research before buying this game, would not recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has a steepish learning curve. Frustrating for the first couple of hours of gameplay.. hang in there it gets a lot better and is fun to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its ok think old virtual tennis 4 is better though
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →where to start... Progression in career mode is basically you barely being able to move and serving like a little girl against player that will return everything and your only chance of winning is when they send the ball out (which happens a looot). You break other player's serve way easier than you win your own serves. They return your serve to the lines all the time and you can never reach, so the best approach is not to serve to the corners or your're dead. Totally unrealistic. The AI's…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is not good as I expected. I played Tennis world tour 1 on PS4 and I get some of enjoyments from it. But on next version, I don't have these feelings. I hope developers will fix shortcomings from simulation, camera angle and statistics of matches. By the way, I can't use Disputed decision on PC. According to guidelines, the key 'G' for this purpose, but it is totally disable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just cant believe this game is made by the same developer that made AO Tennis 2.AO Tennis 2 is a great tennis game, this game is not. Lets talk about the good part. The graphic are good, the character customization is very detailed, replay is ok, many different tennis courts, different weather and they add new cards element. basically your character get stronger when using those cards. It has everything to be a successful tennis game except the core of tennis game, the gameplay. You have…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've chosen negative as there are just too many little things wrong with the game. It certainly has potential and is a definite improvement on TWT1 and the AO games. The little things bugging me are: - The net isn't involved in the game enough. Not enough 'lets', no 'net cords' whatsoever and not enough shots hit into the net in general. The net doesn't feel threatening. - Serving is too easy. My 1st serve percentage is always over 95%. - Impossible to serve an ace though unless playing with…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →gameplay is improved overall, career with cards, trainers got worse. also the online part isnt working prob like in the last game, it laggs very much pretty often. please change the career mode back to how it was in the first game, also the card system! the new one is terrible! another downside is the speed of this game, its too fast! especially at the net.. feels like AO World Tour Lightspeed Edition
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible game, gameplay is ♥♥♥♥♥♥, sutter and sometimes players teleport even if they are offline. Easy and Very easy AI are easy as hell but from normal to expert there is no difference. I cant even hit the ball back when the harder AI serve, they seemed to ace 80%. Shouldnt buy this game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →where to begin this game is Absolute garbage, the gameplay is unrealistic the players movements are terrible and really wtf where is novak he is one of the big 4 why isnt he in the game if you want my advice just play top spin 4 on pc its free and much better $_$.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a good game for tennis fans and players but this game is really hard for beginners so if you're starting your career, it will take a long time before you finall shine up. Also, I don't see Djokovic in this game, is it intentional or ? Because we're talking about the best Tennisman worldwide so. It's a shame not to have him here.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has controls that are very odd, it's lacking in almost every area, it also makes it unclear on how to actually progress in career mode.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm enjoying the game and yes there is a steep learning curve that can lead to some frustration. But it's also very satisfying when it clicks! Whist hard to get used to, I really like the new timing mechanism they introduced and I think it's the best direction for the gameplay.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is horribly harder than the first one. The ball goes long or in the net even when you are perfectly positioned and timed. The pace of the ball is horrendously fast which makes it very difficult to play rallies or hit good shots. Even the slice shot is terrifyingly fast like a topspin or a flat shot which makes no sense. Sometimes when you try to reach to the centre after hitting a ball, my player is stuck or goes in the other direction on its own. The gameplay of the first instalment…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome tennis game in 2022
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its broken. Half the time your player won't even attempt to hit the ball.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hello I bought the game recently from steam. I cannot play online because it keeps giving me this error: “An error occurred whilst searching for a match, you’ll be returned to the online menu” Please help me :(
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played this a compulsory thing. Very buggy probably not worth the buy. Cool concept poorly executed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Average at best. I would really not recommend buying the game unless you REALLY crave tennis but even then I'd reckon that paying more than 15 euros for is a steal. I see no real improvement since the first version, graphism are meh, the character customization isn't complete enough, the simulation doesn't feel good and it's not even that fun to play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In career mode you character is slow, I mean very slow, he doesn't run to the ball. This ruins play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still the worst game. The motions are very suck.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controlling the player is extremely hard, the running reaction is super slow and the adversary is invincible no matter what difficulty is selected.
