I'll post my main gripe upfront - if you hate tryhard, cringey millennial humour and constant references to various movie/TV/game franchises without an ounce of originality, don't buy this game. I had it on my Steam wishlist for years and finally decided to drop a few pennies on it one day when it went on sale. And while I do love the gameplay, the narrator and the main character constant meme-y and unoriginal reference humour really, really put me off. Christ! Make it stop! One or two would…

Dungeons 3, developed by Realmforge Studios and published by Kalypso Media, is a well-crafted blend of real-time strategy and dungeon management that builds upon the series’ legacy with a richer narrative and refined gameplay mechanics. Players step into the shoes of the Dungeon Lord, a dark overlord intent on conquering the overworld by expanding his subterranean empire and commanding a variety of sinister minions. The game cleverly merges the tactical depth of managing an underground lair…

𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕟𝕒𝕣𝕣𝕒𝕥𝕠𝕣 𝕚𝕤 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕠 𝕠𝕗 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕤𝕥𝕠𝕣𝕪! Dungeons 3 is a wickedly entertaining real-time strategy and dungeon management game developed by Realmforge Studios. It’s the third (and probably the best) installment in the series, combining sharp humor, chaotic combat, and devilish creativity into a darkly funny experience that appeals to both strategy fans and anyone with a taste for satire. You play as the Absolute Evil, a sarcastic and self-aware villain who…

A great game for people that don't like RTS games. Let me explain: I don't like RTS games, generally. Especially when you play against other people. Being rushed to go down the memorized checklist of things as fast as possible to make the optimal build... not to mention the crazy toxicity of DOTA and League... it ain't for me. So, it's rare when an RTS game hooks me. Dungeons 3 is one of those unicorn RTS games that's pulled me in. (For reference, the last 'proper' RTS to do that for me was…

I've played through all of dungeons 3 and all of dungeons 4. I found 3 to be significantly more enjoyable than 4, primarily in gameplay. In 4 there's not enough synergy to justify having units from multiple factions, the units don't work in the dungeon so there isn't much use for them outside of fighting, the evilness system in 4 is not nearly as enjoyable as it is in 3. The improvements to graphics is negligible at best, nonexistent at worst. The Voice acting and story are as good as they…

I really enjoyed the game overall. There's just one game mechanic that ruins everything. The heroes build underground bases, which allows them to teleport around the dungeon and dig new tunnels. This makes defenses useless, and on higher difficulty levels, you simply get overrun. It's a shame there's no way to disable this mechanic.

I really want to like this game, but I don't. I've picked it up and put it down twice. I am a huge fan of Dungeon Keeper II, and War for the Overworld. Dungeons III takes the genre in a very different direction than WftO by actually sending you to the overworld. I'm in my thirties, so maybe the humor just misses my age group. I think it missed me when I tried it the first time like five years ago, too, though. It's just not for me.

I love dungeon keeper, but this has none of the style; an appalingly bland cartoon fantasy setting for something that needs a more baroque edge. The story offended me and the humour made me suffer. I refunded after a little over an hour of gameplay yielded no satisfactory gameplay.

The game is made nicely, stable and has very beautiful graphics. So much for the pros. But there is almost no challenge, the story is veeery long and annoying and you may not skip it. The humor is political correct (= boring) or even for children. So if the defs use the graphics and 3D models for a challenging production or strategy game, create no story and add no humor, I would buy it. But for this game, I cannot recommend it and will not play it further.

Dungeon Master, Dungeons 3, and Evil Genius form an odd trio of games. Each has a slightly different take on the same hybrid genre, with Dungeon Master you have creature ecology and a possession mode you can almost play as an aRPG, Evil Genius is filled with death traps, world domination missions, and villainy archetypes, Dungeons 3 is a bit streamlined / simplified comparatively but has a secondary RTS gameplay loop where you invade the overworld for resources. Comparisons aside, this game is…

Dungeons 3 is a mixed bag. If you like Dungeon Keeper type games, this one will do it. It's a little surface level and the the humor is so intentionally over the top, it gets a little tedious at times, but it's tolerable. The base game would be fine except a lot of the acheivements are timed, so you have to sort of rush around to get them. They're not terribly difficult, but it does discourage turtling up. The DLC's are...something else. Most of them anyway. They crank the difficulty up from…

In my opinion, Dungeons 3 is almost perfect just the way it is. The game stays fun even after hours of playing, and it gets even better when playing in co-op. There is plenty to do: In your own dungeon, you can build and expand rooms, manage production chains, and set up traps, while in the overworld you fight the heroes with your creatures and complete various objectives. The characters and different creatures look really great, and the dialogue is funny and fits the overall style of the game…

So massive Bullfrog/Lionhead games fan. Played Dungeons 1 and thought "What the actual hell is this?" - Played Dungeons 2 and went "Finally!" and skipped to Dungeon 3 at some point and I've just been having a blast. Dunno what it is about this game but I got hooked really fast. Love the humor and references, the overall gameplay is great, but very aggravating at times when you feel you've done everything right and you still get overwhelmed. DLC difficulty spike is there but if you've learned the systems for the game well enough you just have to sort of retool your strategies from the main campaign to adapt to them,…

Similar to the old "Dungeon Keeper" games, you have to build and "manage" a Dungeon, protecting it from invading "heroes". There is no possession spell (switching to first-person mode) here. Granted, this mechanic is likely the hardest to implement well, but without it, nothing else can bring the game up to the same level as its Predecessor (DK series).

The game is technically well made. The mechanics are intuitive and natural. The models are stylised to just the right degree to be inviting in the way a homely cartoon is and also to feel like real objects. The problem is that the game is so thickly lacquered with millennial-style post-meaning referential irony that my immersion is broken before I can even get into the game's world.

This game is fantastic in every possible way! You are Thalya, the adopted, and evil, daughter of Tanos. Your job is to replace the good in the world with bad. Your home is an underground dungeon full of "little snots" who work in the dungeon, digging for gold and mana. As they dig, you have them build the rooms you need such as a graveyard, for your evil creatures to go when they die, a chicken coop so they have food, and of course a treasury room for all the gold the little snots dig up. The storyline is very cynical, really intrusively so, to the point I felt compelled to write this negative review, in my opinion it's pessimistic negativity is not good for a persons mental health. The game themes it's self around villainy, which led to allot of toxic dialogue in line with that theme, in many instances it directly tells the user how to feel, and it pushes petty vindictive emotional states on the user. Many games have occasional negative voice lines for demonic villain…

The overworld is a nice addition compared to the old dungeon keeper games, however while the overworld in every level is diverse and has different conditions/setups, the underworld is exactly the same every single game: A few big gold nodes, one diamond node, a few spiders here and there.
