Telefrag VR
Developer Anshar Studios
Telefrag VR is a hellishly fast-paced shooter with visceral movement and combat mechanics. Dash, shoot, and teleport around unique arenas that feature impossible geometry where there is no right side up and death can come from any direction. From the Steam store page

You can't advance and strafe at the same time. It's another in a long line of failures in in the realm of VR movement, but at least it's a new one, I guess. Breaking new ground in failing to move properly in VR! Just give us plain old smooth locomotion and strafe on the left thumbstick and smooth turn on the right.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Telefrag VR is a twitch vr shooter that takes inspiration from the Unreal games and quake shooters alike. This game is a blast to play but unfortunately lacks polish, and is a bit barren for release. Apart from things a love about this game there are some things that need to change and be added for the sake of a smoother experience. Movement: Please let us choose between whether we base the locomotion off of our controller position or our head position. Locking it to only move in the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Clunky movement: you cant walk or run on this game you can only move from dashing Matches are only 1v1s, the game would be way more fun if there were more people to kill on the match From watching the trailer you may think matches are high paced action but you will spend most of the time searching the other player around the map.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BEST PART: It's a VR game with a QUIT button, which is unique! GOOD PART: Looks polished and runs well on a GTX 1060. WORST PART: Multiplayer is VERY laggy, and players run so fast and have no jump, so you just spam left/right and randomly win or lose, with no sense of control or skill. Uninstalled after 30 minutes of free weekend play. :/ COMMENT on this DEVELOPER if you improve it, and we'll try it again. Sorry.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dead game. It's kinda shocking they still sell it for money. If they made it F2P than at least some people who spent their money on this game would have a chace to play with someone
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have my "VR" legs. I've been on my Vive since March last year. I'm fine in any other game I've played regardless of the movement system. But this game managed to make me feel like I'm going to hurl before the tutorial was even over. Who in the right mind decided this constant accelerating-decelerating lurching drunk movement system was a good idea? Smooth walking is good. There's a direct correlation between what your hand is doing and where you're moving. Lunging this way and that like you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay, I love good old Unreal Tournament and I love VR and this game brings these two in one powerful experience. I totally recommend it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was ruined by a focus on player comfort rather than a focus on fun I feel like. If it was a straight up clone of ue or quake I'd love it. Jump pads, rocket jumping, bhopping are things I'd love to see in vr but games are being held back by a focus on comfort.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would love to recommend Telefrag, I really would. It's got a lot of elements that I desire, it's basically UT for VR. That said, the game is dead. 0 players. The game has bots, but they are very, very dumb. Locomotion is jerky and doesn't feel right. There's something there, but it's half baked. Don't spend any money on this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →EDIT: The product was received free at the time of writing this (Free weekend). They say they made improvements, tough I can't test again as I do not own the product. -Not sure what I played against, looked more like a glitch. -The rotation of the player after the teleport is horrible (well, it is needed by this map concept->bad map concept this type of game) -Teleport bubble to big -Weapons were only available as premade sets. After dying (at least some times) the game forced me to take a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've tried the beta. This game has potential and I like it a lot. It's a 1v1 combat game with a mix of Quake and Unreal Tournament (I don't know if it will have more game modes). It's fun to play, the graphics are great and it's very competitive, it forces the player to search and look at the sky to know which platform the enemy can be on. Recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game will be good in years to come. But right now it was me vs a bunch of bots. Not fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've spent a couple of hours with this title so far and I can already tell it's a solid game and fun experience, especially if your'e a fan of tournament shooters of old in the vein of Unreal Tournament or Quake. The VR component makes all the difference obviously and the creators learned their lessons from Detached when it comes to creation of huge VR enviroments. The movement and combat in Telefrag feels fast and rewarding even if a little bit chaotic at times. It takes some practice,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having played games like Fallout VR or Skyrim VR, I like how fast paced the gameplay is in Telefrag. There's a lot of opportunity for skilled movement and reactions, the visuals are really nice and the 3d is clear, easy to read. I hardly had any motion sickness, but it maybe due to my experience with VR, which reinforced my resistance to a quite high level. I totally recommend this game, especially if you like fast-paced gameplay with nice visuals, it's probably one of the better looking games…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing concept. No players. I hopped on this game and was only facing bots. Curious, I checked the Steam-charts for this game. I'm not messing with you I was the first player on their servers in a few weeks. When you check the Steam-charts as well, you also see that the game has unfortunately been dead since launch, only getting ~75 peak players on day of launch, before dropping down to below 10 players. 7/10 for the concept 0/10 for player activity over all review: 1/10, avoid unless the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its very good but dead
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well this was a bit of fun fast and action packed i think it has potential but a little underpopulated as of when i recorded. Other then that if you would like to see the game my video is below. https://youtu.be/GudtwKtVkdI
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the movement scheme might not be for everyone, the game is fast, brutal and the weaponset is diverse and interesting. If you're into old-school arena shooters and are wondering how that concept would translate to VR, definitely give this one a go.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite nice VR shooter in oldschool style. Like Unreal Tournament but in VR and with teleports.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The controls feel very outdated for a new release, and the settings menu feels empty. The gunplay is basic and feels a bit bland and uninteresting. The teleport mechanic fits the title, but the overall feel of teleporting is just Doom-like and again uninteresting. Also, not enough players, even at release. Pros: Well, the teleport mechanic allows for some reversed gravity effects. I enjoyed that for a split second before I realized it adds nothing to the gunplay. Cons: Everything else is just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is a potential. Looking forward to the final version, with more content! I'd love to see classic Edge of Dispair map (one of two maps placed in space, so it can suit perfectly) from Red Faction 2 in VR...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Waited to be matched for 5 minutes and nothing happened. In response to the developer who wanted more details: I clicked on the button when I was ready to be matched and waited for more more than one minute. Nothing happened. Don't know what else to tell you. Using Samsung Odyssey and Windows Mixed Reality.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fast paced matches, fun weapons (esp. the rocket launcher - you get to steer the rockets by aiming, I'm having fun shooting two of these at the same time) and I didn't get nauseous (lots of comfort options). The gameplay is sometimes unforgiving, but after a match or two you learn how each arena works and how to use its layout to your advantage.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent technical execution, stable, smooth frame rate, decent graphics. Gameplay mechanics similar to UT, could use some minor tweaking, but overall very playable even as a 1v1 deathmatch. The real problem though is that there are no players online, so you can only play against a bot. And there's no lobby to see how many players, if any, are currently online. The developer's response is not clear about the situation. I suspect that there may be some kind of publisher's license restriction…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is completely dead, nobody plays it! Kind of boring to play with a bot on only 6 different maps after 30 min. And I can't understate how many times I've been killed when accidentally pausing the game with the move touch controller. This is a ridiculous flaw which is a dealbreaker!!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Total ♥♥♥♥ game, False advertising, doesn't work for the Index AT ALL. Uninstalled this bs game after like 10 mins.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(Vive) Pretty well polished and know it would be fun to play with friends.... bots get a little boring after a while and seems like it's only 1v1? Still fun though, and kind of a nostalgic feeling when playing (e.g. Unreal Tournament). Smooth gameplay, nice looking environment. Devs: - Clicking anywhere on my trackpad seems to open up the menu in the middle of a fight.... easy to hit accidentally so it kept going to menu and often I'd die from the bot during that short amount of time. I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While initially underwhelming, I think that Anshar Studios is on to something here. Telefrag's core concepts aren't original, but the polish and mechanics present at launch have me hopeful for a bright future. If this VR shooter is going to stay on the radar and maintain a high price point, it needs to build a community and schedule many future engaging additions and improvements. 1v1 battles make sense for the size of its few maps and the gamemode even suits the demographic limitations of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my favorite VR shooters! Gameplay is very intense and super fun. For all fellow motion sickness prone gamers: game is fast paced, but doesn't make me sick at all, kudos to developers for that.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really impressive in comparison to other VR shooters i had an opportunity to play. After dozens of shooters on rails in VR, gameplay in this one is so dynamic! There is something in all of this comparisons to Unreal and Quake, but it is a pity that there is no bigger multiplayer mode. With more players, e.g. 4 vs 4, it would be really fun. I can see this mayhem already! :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fun to play if you like old style shooters like quake.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For some reason, it requires "a controller." And apparently my VR controllers, in this VR game, are not the right kind of controller. I've got no idea what kind of controller I have to use, and have been unable to play because of that.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Telefrag VR, developed by Anshar Studios and published by Anshar Publishing, is a bold attempt to reimagine the classic arena shooter experience through the lens of modern virtual reality. Built around the concept of high-speed duels in futuristic, gravity-defying arenas, the game offers a mix of old-school twitch reflex action and unique VR movement mechanics. At its core, Telefrag VR delivers a fast, chaotic, and intensely vertical combat environment where positioning, timing, and awareness…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →HEY ... LOVE FAST PACED FPS GAMES .... WANT ONE IN VR .... WELL HERE YOU GO .... Fantastic fun Fast paced Dual weilding Multiplayer mayhem PICK THIS UP NOW .. ON ALL DEVICES ...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game. Exactly what I expected from a VR shooter game. A must for everyone wanting excelent VR experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Soo that's how could quake 3 look like if it could back in the days.. Basically that's the filling. The game is quick, so if you want to have a quick entertainment - that's the game for you 😉 but be careful, the time flows quite rapidly in this one 😉
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite a fun arena shooter, it's 1 on 1 but the levels are nice and the price is very reasonable!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loads of stupid fun. Shame it's only 1v1, hope devs will expand on it... Confusing as hell, like Alice's dream, but engagements from wierd angles are incredibly rewarding.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice vr arena shooter with impressive art style and the teleporting twist. Feels kinda like playing Q3A with teleports instead of rocket jumps.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hello everyone I was a fellow who came across the trailer for this game and really liked the look of the game it gave off a feel of arena shooters from the past such as Unreal Tournament or Quake 3. I was sad to see that the only multiplayer option was dueling but gave it a try anyway. Walked away from the game surprised to find that the 1v1 battles actually were fun and fast paced with the look and feel of a portion of an arena shooter of old but nothing more than a portion more multiplayer…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is indeed fast paced game with great variety of guns (each has its own special teleport / skill). Teleportation through gates and weapon skills add a certain level of depth to the gameplay. Design of some levels is excellent and not anything like you would have seen anywhere else. The AI is ok, but it's best to be played with real players, specially with a friend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the game, can't wait until it has more of a playerbase
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you dont mind the game having only one mode right now, that being 1v1, you should give it a try, especially if you got the Steam Coupon for the game. A small but well chosen weapon pool, reminding me a lot of UT. This game is a solid base, especially with cross-play, however I'm confident it will get expended on!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just bought the game and played quick match and it seems like really fun game. Will try it later for longer time, but so far seems like great VR experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Intense and fun, definitely a promising title!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fast paced game in a vibe of classic shooters.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a nice fast-paced 1v1 arena FPS. The graphics are good and the map is quite fun! Locomotion is a bit tough to get used to. Once you master it, it's easy to run circles around your enemy, but at times it can get frustrating. This review is for the free open beta, check it out while it's available! https://youtu.be/LrhWWyRZUvw
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fast paced Quake-like duels! The rounds are quick and very dynamic 💥🔫 Plasma Rifle Telefrags are the best <3 There is a potential for a very competetive and fun multiplayer shooter
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →someday vr headset, someday
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game doesn't have anyone playing it, so you can only play duels with bots. The bots are incredibly simple and aren't interesting to play against at all.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →idk cant say if its good or not
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good idea, I'm assuming the 1v1 restriction killed this game as part of the fun of games like Unreal Tournament or Quake was the absolute chaos in every match. If it only had some sort of single player experience, it could've redeemed itself that way at least. It's sad to see years of work end up like this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So, I will leave a thumbs up for the effort and direction, but there are some major problems with this game. I felt like this game was inspired by Quake 3 Arena, and for that alone I would be a fan! But it misses quite a few things: first, there is no jumping. Come on, in a Quake like game, and you can't jump?! The upside-down teleportation is a fricking great idea, I dig it, but jumping and platforms should be an integral part too! Another thing is the simleness of the maps. They are just…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its giving lawbreakers vibes
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Idk how they make this look so cool. It is boring, there are no players (I'm sure there is a discord or something but not fun enough to care) and it doesn't even look high res (even in a high res headset) Bummer
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Intense gameplay! Bots to play against! Fun game and challenging game! Teleport and frag your enemy! Be quick and know your weapons! Lots of fun is to be had with this gem of a VR game! Love it! https://youtu.be/4LRiRqGvvXk
