positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Android game ported to PC. Actually a real pleasure to play, especially when chilling. The game is simple and elegant enough to be played with one click and allow for intricate strategy and placement. You get all the squids games with this one. It's a steal for that amount of genuine fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I LOVE this game. LOVE it! The story is great, the characters are well-written, the turn-based combat is accessible (if you just wanna fling stuff around and meet objectives) AND challenging (if you wanna get every objective met). And with all the different additions there is a TON of content here. The first chapter is the best, but the rest are good as well. Be aware though! 1) This is a port of a mobile game that was intended with touch controls in mind. It does not have outstanding graphics…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Set in an underwater world where one’s presence of or absence of a skeleton indicates whether one is good or evil, Squids Odyssey allows players to control a spunky party of squid heroes battling a dark force known as “the ooze” in classic turn-based RPG style. Containing 90 playable missions, Squids Odyssey has the potential to provide players with many hours of gameplay even with its fairly simple game mechanics. Whether or not those hours are always engaging is debatable, but I believe that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Perhaps the best mobile game. A shame it was pulled off Steam the first time around. This expanded edition includes all content that was previously released separately, which makes this an even better deal.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A hidden gem for fun short sessions if you didn't need to do some digging to get it to start up right. Upon starting up I encountered a white screen with the music playing and no inputs registering, a kind of "White Curtain of Death" if you will. I looked in the discussion tab and found out I wasn't alone, with many including people on steam deck having the issue. From what I can tell this has been going on for little over a year, with the solution contingent on going into the NVIDIA control…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →4/18/26 Edit: This game can lead to a white screen on modern hardware but the developers only put it on sale for the past few years, with some people in community hub having a fix that may or may not work. My review was below when it was working, and a pretty easy recommendation if they fix it. There is a switch version without this problem, that also has touch controls and is better as a result. As some say, Final Fantasy Tactics + Angry Birds. This is probably the definitive version of the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Being a port of an older mobile game, it's not terribly hard, nor is it very in depth, however the art style, music, and controls all work pretty well, and when the game runs well, it can be a blast to play. The dilemma, however, is that after some time, the game simply stopped running properly, and as of now, attempting to open them game simply results in a white screen, and nothing happens. I have not been able to find a solution as of September 8, 2023, so until this is rectified, I don't…

Level up to take out shrimp, crabs and other seafood. Addictive gameplay and fun for any age.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately as of right now this game is unplayable on steam. There is an issue where upon launching it only a white screen is displayed. This is supposedly an issue with the graphics card, apparently some people were able to solve it by switching to integrated graphics for this game, however I was unable to do that. Big shame.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun little cross between a fairly basic JRPG and, of all things, Angry Birds. It's cute and will put a smile on your face even if the controls on Steam could be better. However, Windows and Linux users with AMD vid cards (this includes Steam Deck users as it's a Linux box with an AMD card!) BE WARNED that this game will NOT work properly on your system! You just get a blank white screen - no graphics are rendered, though you will hear audio and technically the buttons and such are still…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Messy, Frustrating, and a port of a game from the freemium era of games. its cute and has a lot of potential but the execution on steam is abysmal. nowhere near worth its current price buy it on a big sale if you must.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game good but it's sad it's experience is altered by various glitches and bugs + There are quite a lot of levels, around 20 hours of gameplay i would say?, add another 15 for completing pro mode . The squids are cute There are quite a lot of squids (around 10) The levels look great Can be very dynamic, especially with scout class squids - Can crash for multiple reaons, here's a list (also some bugs) -Clicking pause just before losing a game (like, your character fall and you want to restart to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bullsh** game. you can't even tell how far your squids are going to travel so they are most likely to go too far, fall over the edge and die. The damage is also random it seems. the enemy is more likely to do more damage than you do to them. completely frustrating and a waste of time.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a top down turn based strategy RPG adventure from the same people that made Furi (This game was their first game) where you fling squids to navigate levels fighting other sea creatures, avoiding obstacles, and trying to stay on the map. This is a phone port of a game that came out so long ago that it isn't updated to play on any current OS, so I was stoked to see it on Steam. Too many games keep disappearing without having a way to play them anymore, and it's sad when they're good games…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Squids Odyssey is an endearing tactical role-playing game developed and published by The Game Bakers that proves strategy titles do not need grim worlds or complex systems to leave a lasting impression. Set beneath the ocean's surface, the game tells the story of a kingdom slowly consumed by a dark slime that corrupts everything it touches. Players lead a growing group of squid heroes on a quest to reclaim their homeland, bringing together elements of adventure, lighthearted storytelling, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very good game I played on my childhood. I would recommend getting it on a sale. If you get a white screen refer to a discussion thread that I cannot link "Stuck in White Screen" and look at my comment, I was able to solve it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Furi at $2 on Steam, ehh? Action Shooting Boss Game by The Game Bakers of Squids Odyssey, Haven and the upcoming Cairn. Many of the developers that left Ubisoft turned out for the best, as Furi, Sifu, Stray and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 can attest to. Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, not so much!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Squids Odyssey is a very good turn based game. It is well balanced and only towards the end I felt overpowered. I picked it up and expected to play this for a few hours....and in the space of 5 days I played 45 + hrs :) What I am trying to say is that is it a fun and highly addictive game. There is lot of content, some of it is just variations of 1 level but most of the content is quality. Good story, nice soundtrack and simple easy to learn game play. Not a deep turn based tactical game but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a kids game and i did not enjoy it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fun with a shockingly large amount of maps in the campaign, but runs into glitches and optimization issues. Zooming the camera while the games switching characters or activating a special move immediately crashes to desktop sometimes. I also don't appreciate being unable to rebind controls. Still, it's a good game. Especially if you can play on something portable and/or with a touch screen.
