Developer Blackmill Games
Tannenberg is a squad-based multiplayer first-person shooter video game set during World War I. It is a sequel to Verdun, and entered Steam Early Access in November 2017, followed by its full release on February 13, 2019. It was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on July 24, 2020. Tannenberg is inspired by the 1914 Battle of Tannenberg in East Prussia. The game includes historically accurate World War I weapons,… From Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0)

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dead as ♥♥♥♥. poor decisions made by the devs. They create new games and split the playerbase even further instead of creating 1 game with front DLCs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I dont get it this game has so few number of players and only one server had game, most of the lobby was bots. You make 3 games for 3 different maps? Just mash them up into one. I should have checked the player count. Don't buy it.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game is dead but there are still bots to keep you company and the bots are not that bad and the game provides good world war 1 immersion. If you play this game for the atmosphere you will enjoy it even if you are fighting bots.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite it not being the prime time of these WW1 games lives anymore, the bots still allow for tons of replayability. And people ARE still on here, but even if they aren't, bots are functional and you can just play this game forever.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Highly unrealistic - I was a Russian soldier and I actually had supplies and bullets to fight with. Anyway, a young soldier fell into my bayonet, and through all of his final screams, his last words that still echo in my mind were - "Melee Kill: 20XP". 8/10 - This is how rappers describe their everyday lives in the hood.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game features massive maps, but there aren't many players online anymore.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR They'll keep pumping out new editions and abandoning the previous games, thus wasting your money. Do not buy unless you're a turbo nerd for historical guns and/or military history. This will be a dead game when the next comes around. What a waste. I do find it incredibly frustrating how you've decided to develop these games. Each release splits the player base even further. Verdun was a lot of fun and had such a wonderful spread of weapons, but the game as a whole felt clunky, like an…

The battle resulted in the almost complete destruction of the Russian Second Army and the suicide of its commanding general, Alexander Samsonov. A series of follow-up battles (First Masurian Lakes) led to the ousting of the First Army from East Prussia. The battle is particularly notable for fast rail movements by the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tannenberg commits the ultimate gaming sin: it's neither particularly bad or good, and is merely dull for those (like myself) who are interested in the game as shooter and not necessarily for the theme. I assume this is why the servers are so poorly populated: There appears to be a small handful still playing, but I'm not sure how consistent even the meager current population might be. The weapons are fairly bland. They appear to all fit the theme just fine, and there are standouts like the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is genuently a great WW1 game... not many games are WW1 and that cover Eastern front... my PC can handle this game easily on high settings and overall the game is great... however if you like more arcade style of WW1 FPS... then go play Battlefield 1 that is also a great game... and on more personal note... they have Latvian riflemen which this is the only FPS game to include them... so for a history nerd this game is for you
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well this is a happy surprise... I don't care for either Verdun or Isonzo and think that their signature modes are fundamentally broken. Tannenberg, though? I'm actually enjoying myself. Unlike with the others, there is no Star Wars Squadrons-style forcing of the battle lines or tempo. Verdun's issue for me is that, rather than letting the battle dictate the pace of the battle, arbitrary things would force one side or another into being the attacker or defender and, if I was out of place?…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This a game, for those who are crazy about history and always dreamed of World War I games, I still remember waiting for an HL2 mod set in WWI that never saw the light of day. You can see Verdun’s evolution in this game, now machine guns are fixed in positions, because Tannenberg, like history, wasn’t as focused on trench warfare as the French front. There are no more snipers, since the game emphasizes movement. The graphics and aesthetics are perfect; I remember being inside a bunker…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately, this game is deader than any fans of Engelbert Humperdinck. Verdun gets at least a full server weekly. You're in luck if you find a server with 1 person in a year. Even if it was alive, it's not a very fun or interesting """"sequel""" to Verdun. It's more or less a glorified DLC with less content than the base game. Not worth it then, definitely not worth it 7 years later.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →✅ Offline bot play progression (this is the only reason to get the game) ✅ Weapons feel realistic to use ✅ Extensive stat records ✅ Decent graphics ❌ Extremely similar to the first game even after being released after 4 years ❌ Offline play requires you to unnecessarily create password each match ❌ Only 1 gameplay mode available to play with bots (at least it's different from the first game) ❌ No campaign/story ❌ The starting weapon for every squad (pistol/single shot rifle) feels the same to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enjoying all the WWI games. Verdun was the classic Western Front experience - pushing back and forth in trench warfare. Tannenberg plays more similarly to a conquest style game. I like that if offers a different experience. As far as player count - I don't care. The bots good enough to provide a structured battle.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game is dead, but the bots arent half bad and there is usually still a single digit number of people playing at minimum. I like the maps a lot more than verdun, but damn the swaying of the guns in this game is too much for me. I understand its unrealistic for a person to be able to hold a rifle without even a millimeter of movement when aimed in with iron sights, but its a game, and no other game ive played so far has this mechanic....and even if they do, the swaying isnt as bad. just my two…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No players and no options for add bots.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not Recommended Tannenberg feels like a game that had a great idea but never quite lived up to its potential. The Eastern Front setting is interesting and the historical authenticity is impressive, but after the novelty wears off, the flaws become impossible to ignore. The biggest problem is the player population. Many matches are filled with bots, and it often feels like you're fighting AI instead of real people. For a multiplayer focused game, that's a serious issue. Critics and players…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not the best war game it might be boring because there's a small amount of people playing it but if you like war games and you have time to play something but there's nothing to play this is the perfect game - Cheap - fun with friends - graphics amazing - history
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lower player count than Verdun but plenty playable. Adds quality of life and has good map variety and visibility compared to Verdun. I rate this game yes for series enthusiasts. However, enemy uniforms can look more similar to friendly uniforms in this game than Verdun, the game is missing gamemodes such as wave defense, and new gamemode kinda sucks + map design favors control of mid. Also Mosin sights have a strange sway and screenspace orientation making them hard to use, which is a shame…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game was gifted to me by my closest friend, even though the game's not that popular obviously the server's online is seem to be very dramatic here but having received that masterpiece bought for a very decent and solid discount at that time and i have no complaints nor downsides except the online problem, hence the positive rating i'm giving along with my strong recommendations on top of it. God bless you warriors!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It saddens me that a game that was truly so fun could die in such a major way. As others have mentioned, the fact that this and Isonzo were standalone games and not expansions of Verdun, basically fragmented the already low playerbase. As a consequence of being the middle child, Tannenberg doesn't even have enough players to fill a single server most of the time. The best times to play this game were when it came out and the occasions when it was free to try for a limited time (I got most of my…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has a moderate diversity in weapon selection and faction choice; However this is the least active in the WW1 game series. Suffering from the playerbase torn between Verdun and Isonzo.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not enough brave Bulagrian patriots are around to populate the servers :(
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game 50: WW1: Tannenberg This was on our radar for quite a but. Its and interesting game, there should habe been a campaign but the multiplayer is fairly fun. While its not gonna remake the wheel its a game we plan to play more in the future So give this a try if you like mp

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The devs kinda just killed their own games with what I assume to be either greed or incompetence. WW1 is unfortunately a very niche war to make a fps for. And they did it not once or twice but three times. They divided their already small player base between 3 separate games when they really should have made both Tannenberg and Isonzo as expansions for Verdun to keep their player base together. They basically scalped their own games with their new ones. Realistically the only competition they…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are basically no players and there is no single player campaing... Unless you want to play with bots, pass.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fantastic game. you need to change server regions depending on the time of day to find a lobby but there are people playing. Some reviewers just played it for 15 min and cried that they couldn't find anyone.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Killing russians in the name of the emperor is fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a lot of players, not a lot of guns Maps are cool and bots are good enough Better than isonzo
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game replicates the weaponry and uniforms of the time with every detail. I can play as my country, one of the very few games where I can do this. 10/10 experience for me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like this game very much, for me the best shooter BUT there is no ANTI CHEAT so a bunch of players use them and is unplayable I hope the game developers fix this
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovely game, has it's jank but overall I enjoyed it a lot, sadly it's rather dead and playing with bots is OK. Love the genre, love the authenticity and effort put in it, very chaotic.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game dead server are dead nobody playing games it empty why are they still selling it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All 3 games in the series are gold. Isonzo being the most visually stunning doesn't make the other two obsolete in any way. Each has its own theme and setting, while keeping the "feeling" across all three games the same, allowing you to jump between them in a sitting. This leads to my request to someday merge the 3 (plus Gallipoli when it arrives) into one big game. Otherwise, it's another 10/10 production. Fully playable offline, chaotic, addictive, challenging, immersive. Buy this game. If…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →REALLY FUN GAME. ONLY 1 PROBLEM NOT SO MANY PLAYERS 10- 30 players at the some time, (slots filed up by bots)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game depicts the more forgotten parts of ww1 but i think its a bit dead and needs more players but sometimes it rises up again but only during events it and when there is no events there are 30-60 people in game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great, needs more ppl
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All quiet on the eastern front
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →actually awful its just a crappy clone of BF1
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My favorite of the three games in this series.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The only game where I can play as my country. "La dracu, grenadă!" 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really good game i enjoy this alot! Just maybe they would make more optimation since some stuff is laggy but its playable :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Literally have never seen a game more dead in my entire life, I think the highest player count I ever saw was five. Maybe if Blackmill got their heads out of their asses they would do something about it, but that sure as ♥♥♥♥ ain't happening.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game, but nobody plays Tannenberg these days... will refund and only buy again if players come back. For now, you would be better playing other blackmill games
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →feels dead nowadays, not really worth the full price the combat is more open as opposed to being stuck in trenches like in Verdun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am kinda dissapointed at the game. I would like to play as the Germans but I can only playy as French, Russians and others but not Germans. The ad made it look like I would be able to play as Germans then when I play, that is not a option. It feels I got robbed and tricked playing this game. My usual problem is that graphics or whatever is meh and it is very hard to see an enemy in the bushes or across the map. Eventho my grafic cards is not the problem they sure make life hell for me. Not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →READ BEFORE PURCHASING This game has no solo game mode - it is multiplayer only. The problem is that the servers are empty. All you can do is roam around on an empty battlefield. And the battlefield is rather small, which surprised me. The game may have been good at one time, but now it's a complete waste of money.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →игра хорошая.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I LOVE this game, it is very nice and eazy to play, and i love the maps they are very unique.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You get to charge down poor souls on a horse with a sword!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed playing Tannenberg! While less popular, and perhaps less unique, that its predecessor Verdun, I believe the Eastern Front of the Great War works well as a multiplayer FPS. The maps are open and dynamic, with every side both defending and advancing at the same time. The front itself has great geographical variety and the attention to historical details is always appreciated. Contrary to Verdun, this shooter is more typical, with every player having greater freedom during the…
