The world is built directly on the table in front of you and immerses you in the story. The only thing this begs for is some kind of multiplayer where you could experience the story with a friend or two, the way Demeo does. What this has that Demeo doesn't, however, is a much better story which gives purpose to what is happening in the game as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game about 3/4 of the way through on PSVR (before handing those terrible controllers over to my wife for her own private pleasure). So, if you see that I have only played for 10 minutes or so - I am just checking what the game is like on PCVR. As far as I can tell, it is pretty much the same - and that is no bad thing, as it was great on PSVR. That out of the way.... This is a simply magical game. There will be plenty of comparisons to Demo here - they are both great games in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When the board first came to life and the narrator first started speaking, I KNEW this game was going to be something special... well I was wrong. Short version: If you're looking for a tactical TTRPG experience, I'd look elsewhere. If these designers were running a D&D campaign like they do this game, I'd never come back after the first session and proceed to warn others to avoid their campaigns. Long Version: This game looks good on the surface with a unique idea and charming presentation.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really cute little game. Nothing wrong with it, it's fun. very polished, looks and plays great. I give it a negative review because there isn't enough content to warrant a $30 price tag. If this game had custom maps and multiplayer it MIGHT be worth $30 but it only has a few combat scenes with 2 hours of playtime if you are lucky. Nothing procedural or roguelike so replayability is nonexistant. They are basically charging you $30 to watch a movie. Maybe I will change this review when more is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great and charming D&D tabletop RPG. Could be compared with Demeo, as this is also 3rd person, turn based, grid movement, with cards to use on each turn... but its plenty different with ToT being clearly superior in a lot of ways, but also not without its drawbacks. Table of Tales is a bit different, a bit more in depth story and mechanics wise.... its Narrator tells a story, and voices different characters, there is a bigger story than "big bad lives there, kill it because reasons". A…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would have recommended it if there was some way to turn off the bird speaking so much. They just never shut up, and talk/hint basically every second. It is so intrusive that it ruined the game for me and I couldn't even finish it because the bird was driving me insane
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has so much charm going for it, but with the buggy behavior of the game, the locks and strange camera movements, the dialogue that just keeps repeating in a loop, I can't give it a thumbs up. It may be that I'm playing on a laptop instead of a VR rig for at least some of the problems, I don't know, but if a game is advertised as playable without VR, it should deliver. Still, I'd hoped that it would be fixed to perform better by now. A year later and it's just as bad as it was the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow, this game is great and so much fun! I think it is a not miss. Helps that I am a miniature game. The story is great and the graphics are wonderful. If you are a tabletop gamer, and miniature gamer, then don't miss this. Some people complained about bugs, but I didn't experience any problems. TO the designers, I would buy expansions of this game in a heartbeat. Thanks for making this game. What a great experience!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome format, love grid party combat games. Unskippable "cutscenes" (turn off sticky keys prompt because skip is shift). Having to move characters to interaction zones slows the gameplay. No gold/gear. Interesting decision-making system allows for some party customization and replay value, but not much. But a great start to a game. Got stuck on the second level-up, about half-hour in, game asking me to level up horatio, who I didn't have in my 3-person party. I do not recommend in current…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tabletop storytelling on Steam at its finest. Don't mind simple graphics (suited for a VR version) and get immersed in its world with beautiful transitions, great narration and strategic RPG gameplay. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Clunky controls. Bland tactical and rpg elements mixed with endless swarms of enemies. Just a slog.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →saved the govenor seven years passed. get the fancy ship after he dies go to hammers stop. can find no way to escape. you cant use your ship, the dingy, or go through the gate. tried for 30 mins. this game is just frustrating. I get tired of theres more red hats coming you must escape with no clues to how. said you need to talk to the friend but no option to. If you want frustration with no way to progress this is the game for you.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish steam had a mixed review option. This game is GREAT but VERY buggy and with VERY strange controls. For me game just softlocked so I couldn't complete the last (as I presume) location, the world just wouldn't load. Also why does the bird has to say the same comment EVERY time I click on a quest action? Like, I'm capable of remembering stuff for a couple of minutes, don't need to tell me the same stuff 100 times in a row. So, I still recommend to buy and try it, it's a great…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short Review This game is full of charm and joy from the world of tabletop RPG, with the added magic touch of VR to make everything be truly alive . The tabletop itself is a changing landscape with incredible detail and fluid transitions between stages. From ships cruising the seas, to towns full of npc's or any other location, you will always be amazed of how it looks and it appears in front of you. Miniatures are also alive and animated on each action, and the gameplay develops in a way that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This review is further detailed in the video below. As someone who is not a fan of Dungeons & Dragons, Table of Tales is the Dungeon and Dragon style game that I need. No imagination required! The story and voice acting are gripping, the choice making is impactful and the combat is both challenging and satisfying. Table of Tales caught me off guard, I did not expect to like it as much as I do. This is a MUST PLAY for lovers of stories and tabletop games. ✔️PROS ✔️The…

This should appeal to fans of board games, Demeo and fantasy adventure... Table of Tales on Steam from @thetinminions.bsky.social Let's dive in. 🧵 1/4

I re-loaded and it worked okay so I got through that fight, and later I quit to menu and left the game. When I restarted, it brought me back to that same fight. I've just loaded it up three times and it's locked up each time at the point where I'm doing an essential part of the mission. I have a successful roll (or not), the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Disappointing to see recent reviews relating to people having issues with the desktop publish. Suffice to say playing in VR seems to allay issues with the camera view, and in 2 hours worth of play i've yet to come across any bugs that recent reviews allude to. The actual game seems rather simple in comparison to other turn based. Perhaps as you unlock more cards and abilities further in to the game things become a little more strategic and require more thought. In the first 2hrs i had all my…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought the game because I liked the concept of the table building the board. It did not disappoint. Interesting story which is very well narrated. I am currently playing this and Demeo. This game goes more in the direction of Divinity 2. The heros have a fixed set of skills instead of constantly drawing new ability cards from a deck. It does have some minor issues which I would like to see fixed. 1) The game does not save customized settings at all. The audio level and button assignment needs…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Have tried to play this non-VR, so take that with a grain of salt. The controls make it almost unplayable. Buttons don't work, the camera is uncooperative, and I yelled more than once at my monitor as my team of idiots executed some suicidal nonsense I didn't intend. The story's mid, the combat is simple.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't do it to yourself, this game is absolute rubbish. Poor graphics followed by worse camera controls/system, tedious game play, annoying dialogues and horrendous repetitive music. Nothing about this is any good, it quite literally gave me cancer.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ridiculous Terrible pandersome modern safe corporate writing, crew, cast etc. Perfectly soulless and corporate. All the modernity vibes - if you like entertainment in 2020-2024 overall, honestly, like large companies games and movies - you will love this - truly. If you do not like modern entertainment stay very, very, very far away.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a gem, and I absolutely loved it from beginning to end...and the replay factor leaves a lot to enjoy on more playthroughs. I was always eager to continue the story, and the pacing and mechanics are a joy. Some of you may be asking, "Do I buy this or Demeo?" Honestly, they're both worth having. Which one do I enjoy more, though? This one, by far! The story and ways they present it really make it stand out. Demeo does, however have the multiplayer aspect of it -- which is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →VR Needs more games like this! Very original. You play across multiple "game boards" as you experience card based strategy and a good story. Def recommend!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has promise but theres a lot of bugs that need work. For instance sometimes things in game either don't register at all or take a long time to register. Also sometimes the win conditions are either unclear or glitched (for instance in one mission it seems like you can either win by killing all the monsters in the sea cave, or by convincing the npc that you need to leave before the tide comes in... I killed all of the monsters and then just kinda shuffled around for 3 or so turns before it just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →loved it ..short lived beat it 1st time round but very enjoyable ....keep looking for DLC i would buy
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controls and camera are incredibly busted. I can't imagine playing through a whole game of this, i'm sure it's fine on VR but IF YOU DON't HAVE VR AVOID THIS GAME. Such a shame because i love this dev's other games especially Warlock of Firetop Mountain
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well done but too short i really want more off this VR Tabletop Game ! Presentation is were it shines no Bugs maybe a bit too easy. Please DEVs some DLC or Part 2 would be awesome.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →played for 3 hours and then a bunch of boats glitched into a town and a battle was going on. made the game unplayable to say the least. pretty chuffed about it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been looking at the new Demeo x D&D game and remembering Table of Tales. I don't think it got a proper shake and that's a real shame for a really charming solo RPG experience with a neat gimmick of being at a magic table in VR. (Edit: Couldn't stand the glaring typo.)
unlabelledView post →This is a GREAT little game. Love the setting, the board feels a little Minecraft + Lego. I don't care! It's a great storyline. Gameplay is not boring by any means. Different ways to beat each level. I like the dice rolling to achieve objectives based on stats. One narrator, doing all the voices, just like a DM. Well worth a few bucks for a few hours entertainment. I would purchase DLC for another story line.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first refund request I ever submitted. Despite 'VR support' my Index controllers were barely working. Normal trigger clicks were not picked up by the menu items, Items would not drop from my hands when I would release them etc. Bugged mess. Not worth even a 90% discount.

unlabelledView post →Table of Tales is an immaculately executed glimpse into what VR gaming can be. The game places you in an attic in front of a magical board game left by a relative. At the turn of a key the game springs to life in a mix of tabletop board game and animated popup book, complete with a magical talking bird serving as narrator and dungeon master. You can pick up and look at game pieces, and the game unfolds with familiar tactical combat mechanics. Although the combat is simplistic for the most…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Before anything, here is a Disclosure: I received a free review copy of this product from https://www.keymailer.co So thank you so much for the key and opportunity to experience this epic adventure! I loved the vibe and especially the voice actor of birb narrator, Arbitrix. From the beginning till the end the adventure I experienced was told in a good pace, sometimes confusing, but that is alright, after all it was a one big mystery that was revealed in the end. In my playthrough: the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just a temporary review for the Steam awards, of which this is EASILY "VR Game of the Year" in my opinion. Such a fantastic game that I've played prior on PSVR and fell completely in love with. The art style is fantastic, like you're looming over a proper boardgame table and actively moving the pieces by hand, it's delightful to behold in VR. I will update this review with more information the longer I play the PC version.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just played few minutes and... i already want to thanks the Devs. This game is pure Magic.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is a little janky on VR but overall it's a really well narrated table top "choices" game. I've only played through the very early stages of the game. But I will definitely be returning to this game in the future when I have enough time. Essentially the game is like playing Slay the spire (cards) with table top RPG which lets you choose the story and success of events with dice rolls.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I never played a tabletop VR game so I don't have anything to compare it to such as Demeo. While I'm usually not into these kinds of games, the voice acting, graphics and gameplay are very well made. The way the levels form itself onto the table is an excellent way of doing it. Great stuff!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Watch my full review at https://youtu.be/9kLXTC_pfXk Pros World building in front of you looks great Comfort and controls make it accessible to any level of VR user Full of charm Table Top Gaming element well done Cons No multiplayer Story has no real surprises Combat might be to simple for some Table of Tales: The Crooked Crown making it’s way PCVR will certainly please some, with VR and Table Top RPG’s go so well together. With the gameplay element being handled well in a game that is full…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Straight off the bat its a 9/10. I already own this on PS and it was good on that but not as good as here. It runs 120 FPS on my oculus quest 2 at 1.8 X SS ( could go higher but no point ) This game is so detailed and so smooth it's a perfect VR game. From the moment you start the game you a pulled into your own little fantasy world and within seconds you forget your inside attic. Your playing a moving board game that constantly evolves around you. If you ever played any games like…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a review for the VR version. This was among the first VR games I played and completed, because I usually lose interest and turn to something else, 3-4 years ago and I liked it. I thought the way the map looks, pops up and stuff, was really cool and that it looked good. I still do, but this second, recent playthrough was almost a chore. It just doesn't control smoothly enough even though it's comfortable to play sitting down. You sometimes have to basically reach for stuff in an awkward…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cool tabletop game with dice and strats.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →no text translation, english only - no key binding, so only playable with QWETRY keyboards - the camera is a nighmare - the card selection, and anything requiring to target a grid square with the mouse, is very patience trying - this overpriced game was not made for a computer or even for a console, it's for VR alone, - and even in VR, I wouldn't bet it's very comfortable to play
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Now I want to preface that I bought this game thinking it was a D&D-like game. I should also note that I was playing this in VR. Pros: Quick, easy interface with little experience in tabletop gaming required Story is relatively simple and enjoyable for what it is It is fully voice-acted with DM-like experience through a mechanical bird Cons: Linear story, very few choices that change the overall story (from what I've seen at the least) The dice-roll checks seem to be greatly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Originally for PSVR in 2019, Table of Tales came to SteamVR in 2021. Which feels like a while ago, but it holds up. I enjoyed my time in this game. The momentum and pace is beautifully captured by the rolling table scene changes, and the narrator's excellent story telling. 🧵 2/4
unlabelledView post →I’m liking it a lot so far. I couldn’t get enough Demeo and this fills the void now that I beat that several times. I wish there was one of these games with a level/campaign editor so I could play more. The presentation in this is great with a good mix of music and environment sounds and I really like the voice acting. It’s weird to say for vr but I think the audio is what immersed me fastest. This doesn’t have multiplayer like demeo and its UI isn’t as good. Specifically: you can’t tilt the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sort of nice looking novelty, but you have to endure supersimplistic mechanics apparently made for special children I'm not allowed to make jokes about... and an awful, unresponsive camera if you're not playing in VR.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had to uninstall on PC due to too many bugs that caused the game to hang indefinitely, especially after failed skill checks. It was a great shame because if these bug didn't make the game unplayable it would be a real delight. Love the narration and the conceit of an automaton created game board, and the simplicity and ease of understanding the game play. I really hope this gets debugged!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to realty like this game its got that great table top feel its for the most part well polished and could be one of those games that people remember as one of those epic experiences and a game you could introduce a non vr person to for that wow factor. The issues i am having are trying to get the cards to consistently activate one what appears to be moving target hit boxes. The other issue i've had is i have had monsters that are frozen but dead stay on a highlighted quest area and i get…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some of the worst controls I have ever used in a game. Glitched on me multiple times, some to which I could not see the table, others where I could not inspect any characters. Not that the last mattered much, as the game does an absolutely terrible job at explaining anything that pertains to combat.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a tabletop RPG with a dungeon master bird that tells the story and voice the characters. It plays like most tactics RPGs, move, then action, then wait/rest, very easy to learn, very fun and the replay value is there since you need to make multiple choices during the story. A bit short but since we have to do multiple runs it's all right. All in all it's good, if you like what you see in the videos you'll like the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having a narrator for a game can go so wrong ... But this game does it well! Charming narrator, music, and table-full of scenery and figures. Excellent, excellent game if you worry about motion sickness (VR sickness). No chance of that at all. This is not a full-body participation game. But as a game laid out in front of you to sit at and control -- I find it one of the best! I forgot I was in VR, and the index controls are intuitive (close your hand to grab; open hand to let go). This is like…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nice little game with a good feel for how a well run tabletop rpg is run. Didn't try it in VR but I think it would look pretty good. My biggest concern was that often while trying to move or even select a character or action would end up triggering a different character or bringing up the character information screen. But don't let that detract you as it's something that should be easy for the dev's to take care of.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty great so far! Great narration and entertaining game play. My only complaint is I would like a visual confirmation as when auto save has take place.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely amazing, I did not expect it to be this good, loved every single moment! amazing story telling and great choice making, can not wait for more from this developer in the future, please do not let this be the only one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent little tactical RPG that approximates D&D with meaningful choices, tactical battles and strategic decisions. It was a great game to spend an afternoon playing and anyone with a VR headset should pick it up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like the game play and the difficulty levels. Only thing I would ask to change is please add an adjust height option as well as giving the ability to give a top down feature if wanted as looking down with the VR on the whole time really strains my neck.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Originally I had a problem with this game regarding an error message at launch. It also had a window size problem that would cut off either the top or bottom 1/4 of the screen depending on which screen (game or menu) was being displayed. The devs have been incredibly responsive in dealing with these issues and that took me by surprise. I've never received same day response from a dev until now. I'm recommending this game because, not only is it fun and well made, but the service I've…
