Played through 8 of the singleplayer missions in about 45 mins before getting bored of just sailing around and shooting at enemies that didn't pose any real threat. Polish of the game is lacking compared to previous Survios games too. Feels like an early-access title, or an Oculus Quest game ported to PC. Might be good if you're new to VR but it's hard to justify the price for what it is right now.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I waited all day to buy this, and the whole summer, I came home early and hyped all the way to my play area. I bought the game instantly, and the prize is just a bonus. My first impression was wow all the way to the second character, I'd like more people to play with so I hope my review will help others doing so, So go buy it and come play an awesome game with me :)) I like the way you play this elite/famous pirate that runs the show, unlucky me I just moved my vr gear into a much smaller…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its good in concept and the initially gameplay is fun but its soooooo repetitive and boring. Not worth anywhere near 30 bucks.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a tough one to review. The core game itself is really fun. Probably the best sailing mechanics for a VR game I've played so far. It has a very arcade-y feel, and despite being able to "drift" the boats which is completely ridiculous, is insanely fun and engaging. It feels like you have just enough control over your ship while still maintaining the weight and pull of a massive vessel. Plus, actually being able to see other players on their boats moving in real time is a really neat…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's a well made game. The combat is awesome. This game sadly is extremely repetitive. You can tell by all the positive review that the average play time is like 1 hour :S.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played for about an hour and a half of co-op with a friend. The game is well polished and its aesthetics are both varied and tastefully rendered as I have come to expect from Survios's VR titles. The game displays a lot of attention to visual detail, such as foam on top of the ripples of water by your kraken's slapping arm. The game's concept and controls are simple. You physically steer your ship with a giant wheel, a la Pirates of the Carribbean and there are two handbrakes on either side…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a fun game for maybe an hour then gets repetitive even in campaign controls are a little wonky as well
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun, but repetitive. There's very little content here. You can probably see all the game has to offer in about 2 hours. I'd say it's worth no more than $5.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a cash GRAB! I bought this game the day this game came "Out" for full release. This game has failed to add any content sence day one of the game's release. The game over all feels very clunky and lacks good polish. I was a fool, who bought this game and have played this game very little. Please do your self a favor and dont buy this game unless you want two hours of content and entertainment. Games like Bones Works or Saints and Sinners Walking Dead make this game feel like a Demo, just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely repetitive.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoy it so far, played for about an hour. Feels very smooth and all in all i enjoy it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pirates VR: Jolly Roger Review - Colorful Adventure With Shallow Combat. The cultural impact of Robert Louis Stevenson's landmark 19th century novel cannot be overstated. Historical tales like The Pirate Queen show there's room for more serious stories, yet Treasure Island's depiction of swashbuckling pirates searching for treasure remains more prevalent with VR games like Sail, Furious Seas, and Battlewake. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Pirates VR: Jolly Roger takes the latter approach. The Facts…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game definitely isn't what I hoped it would be. The ships move fast loose with no sense of weight. The combat and effects are very underwhelming. This feels like some kind of arcade game instead of a naval battle game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like this game, enjoyed the Beta, but I just can't reccomend this game at its current price tag. The mecahnics are fun, and a nice change of pace, but the game has too many issues. about an hour and a half of single player content, progressively weaker ships through campaign, annoying frogger missions, easy with no difficulty option There is a real lack of variety in level design enemy design. I didnt have 1 mission that was longer than 5 minutes. This is an arcade game in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Single Player: https://youtu.be/hCxM0-uqce4 Co-op: https://youtu.be/vNJe4XIiugs I was hoping to get some of the 10 player PvP free for all mode but not enough people were online at the same time. However the game was a lot of fun and Looked great. I do have a sneaky suspicion that the single player won't last you very long, but playing with friends is a ton of fun as is playing with strangers (I didn't know either of these guys I played with tonight) we had good laugh regardless. Graphics…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're seeking something fun for short bursts of gaming, I highly recommend it! Gamers today expect every game to be a AAA title in order for them to write glowing reviews. Ignore the negative reviews unless you are one of these gamers whom wants a full triple A title with a deep rich story and a mass following. I personally play VR as an escape to have fun and unwind a bit. This is a very fun pirate game with excellent handling and game-play design. All you do is destroy, survive, loot,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun arcade shoot-em up. You go around on a boat shooting other boats... and that's it. Very shallow progression system. Would be fun to play with friends, but none of them have this game nor would they spend the asking price to play it. I would play online with random people but there is no playerbase.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First let me say this game is GREAT. It's a very well done game. I got this on sale for $6. Would I buy it for $30? A little Over priced if you ask me. They did a great job on making a ship combat game akin to black flag with less complicated controls. It doesnt take long to learn, but I suspect longer to master. Very fun gameplay. Graphics are nice. Campaign seems a decent length. The missions are extremely short but there are 3 or 4 characters to unlock with 5 missions each so not too bad. I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Combat is not bad, but it is very, very repetitive.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short Review: A great 9/10 VR Full game It has great visual effects, big ships, krakens , simple progression applied to ships and charachters, good Single Player campaign, Multiplayer support (PvP and Coop Missions!). All wrapped working correctly, plays great with VR Controls.. what else could we ask? Probably a longer Single Player Campaign, and I want more BIG MONSTERS and Magic effects! ----------------- Totally recommended game that in my opinion is worthy of a full price buy, because…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately, steering the ship is terrible, and firing the cannons is bad. The 2 fundamentals that a game like this needs to get right.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Keep in mind this game is now 3 years old. VR has come a long way, but in 2019 this would have been worth the $30. It's engaging and fun. Wait for it to go on sale and enjoy it for what it is! Short lived arcade VR fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →*Do no mistake this game for something like sea of thieves* Bought this game while it was on sale it was good for about 20 Minutes but quickly got boring as the story is the same every mission and there is no 1v1 mode for you to face off against your friends. I honestly thought this game was like sea of thieves where you go hunting for treasure and battling online players and AI controlled ships. But its nothing like that and the story is really short Like less than 1 hour short played it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game seems good but the grind to level 20 is unreal it's probably there to hide lack of content.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a party game or just fun for kids that visit, it is not a sea of thieves VR. it is an arcade game that is very repetitive. The FX are ok. But some how it feels very small in comparison to Raw Data, That is my favorite game so for from this dev. But for good fun for the kids and guests it is a good title.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's just so cumbersome and boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Around 2h30 of gameplay in solo (compaign + first 3 missions of missions mode). A good replayability even if it will get boring after a few more hours. The game is really nice. Not beautifull but the gameplay is fun. Didn't try the multiplayer as I was not able to find player in 5-10 minuts. edit : of course this game isn't worth it's full price. You can get it for much lower in bundle that regullary contain it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this today and I've played for 3 hours. Its probably the best vr game I've ever played especially when you can get it for £6 on G2A.com
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's just boring, spend your time on something more fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the first 30 minutes is fun, then is boring. all the ships are the same, all the captains are the same. when you win and upgrade your pirate or your ship is not saved if you quit.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I could not justify the sale price of the $25 sale price for the current content and game play. Returning it now.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow. If you played Furious Seas and thought "this is a great concept, I hope they run with it and make a real game". Well, Survios did just that. Imagine Assassin's Creed Black flag in VR. Super fun and well done, like all Survios games. This is a must have if you like pirate themed games and/or are a fan of Survios games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Polished. Very nice graphics. Basic VR fun. Good voice acting. Could be improved by allowing us to leave the ship and go on land. Recommend 9/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it looks great, it plays great, it is great. 8/10 i like it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fun game. Typical Servios - slick, good game mechanics, great visuals and production values - instant sense of 'you need this in your library. But also typical Servious in being a little arcade orientated (this is not a criticism - this is what they do, and do well - but it does leave many wanting more depth - including myself). So another great game from one of the top VR studios who are frankly just pumping out great game after great game. But there is one thing that needs…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Neat idea, but too much nausea. As much as I wanna feel like a pirate in VR, sailing on the seas in a ship does not translate well to VR.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just bought this on sale at 85% off. This is clearly an older VR game and it shows. More graphics settings would be nice. The game is very simple and feels very arcade-ish. It's not a bad thing. Sailing, shooting, making quick anchor turns, using abilities, etc. is fun! But this game msut shine in multiplayer and so far, I havent had the chance to play with other people. On sale? (or should I say sail? hehe) Sure! Full price? I don't think so. Let's just hope this sale brings up new players
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wasn't expecting much due to the Mixed reviews, but this game is fun as Hell. It's not a AAA title, but it's sure worth a look. Those looking for a massive game are going to be disappointed with the catalog in VR, enjoy it for what it is. Dropping an anchor and pulling a hard turn is sooo satisfying... So far each of the ships has had different abilities & weapons. Yeah so what the gameplay is repetitive, it's a VR game where you get to be a pirate captain... I'm hooked on this, and no I'm not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you get it for a few bucks its' work it for a gimmicky VR naval combat... it has a manageable interface, laghable story, and arguably is the only VR navel combat game out there... It's alright. Those with motion sickness, need quality graphics, lack patience with the interface, or whom's expectations are not managed with proper research into how the game plays should stay away. People who want a singleplayer VR navel combat game should consider getting this game. If the interface/menu was…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun for 15 dollars. Would like more customization options and more characters. Would also enjoy more game modes. Enjoyed shooting and steering.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seems pretty good so far, and it actually works well with my Windows MR headset.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Youtube Video Gameplay and Review Here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHKP6eD7uiI Battlewake developed by Survios delivers a thrilling and visually stunning Pirate experience made for VR with their latest game. Between its easy to pick up gameplay mechanics, great narrative in campaign and visual design. I couldn't help but fall completely in love with the game. The games campaign puts you through various missions where you must battle your way through the enemies sharing the waters you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Going to do my very best not to use pirate speak in this review, because I think we spent the entire time talking that way while playing this. This game has polish, the setting and the graphics are really high quality, and the voice acting and characters are fun and fleshed out. The ship handling takes some getting used to, in that you really can't control your speed, and often have to pull up your anchor like you would use the handbrake in a riced out Honda to get any effective turning.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good, but old It was a good game, played with the misses, shame it doesn't have much to it, get if on offer, otherwise it might not be worth your money.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun but repetitive. There aren't enough VR pirate games, even though this is janky and not worth $30. I got it as part of a bundle and have definitely gotten my money's worth. Would recommend, just not at full price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow this game is stupid. It is such a cool concept and an idea, kinda like sea of thieves, but the entire game is just spinning circles in the water firing at random ships... constantly. Zero depth here, which is very unfortunate. If this game had an actual mission or goal or campaign or something I would gladly pay more for this. Do not buy this unless you are all about super repetitive boat combat that is basically just going in circles. Worse than nascar.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible, do not buy it unless you can get it for insanely cheap. You will play it for 30 minutes to an hour at most.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not worth $30, not worth $3.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The entire game is the exact same mission played over and over again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After 45 minutes, still no multiplayer game was found. If you're gonna play it, bring friends. Played on Oculus Rift S
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I released the Kraken.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if it goes on sale banger of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game u like pirates u like this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very enjoyable arcadey naval action. It's a bit repetitive, but no more than any other wave shooter(pun intended). Pros: + Fast paced combat with telegraphed enemy attacks. Boss fights are especially fun, but a bit too easy + Intuitive and easy to learn controls. I especially like the addition of anchors for unrealistically sharp turns, they make maneuvering way more enjoyable + Beautiful and optimized cartoony visuals, environments look amazing Cons: - There is no Difficulty slider and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So much fun. Gets a little tricky at times when you think you have let go of steering when you are trying to aim. Easy to fix.Anchor drops really help in battle. I have not done mulitplayer yet. If they made dlc or a 2nd part I would get it. Worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This games awesome! You captain a ship, and destroy your foes. Just get it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When they add support for use with the Index knuckles, I'll be the best pirate on the 7 seas! Arggggggggggggg..
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I won this on a Reddit giveaway by the developer. I'm not sure if it was random or if it was because I said how much I love Furious Seas, which this game is basically a clone of. If you like Furious Seas but you wish it were a AAA game, Battlewake is what you're looking for. It's more polished and has a fleshed-out single-player campaign with a story and plenty of voice acting, as well as multi-player (which I haven't tried yet). It's not just a straight upgrade from Furious Seas though. The…
