This game feels like a student project. It's a GOOD student project and should get an A grade, but it definitely feels like a artsy little creativity toy someone made rather than a finished product. The good: - The graphics and animations are nice and the low-poly style really gives it some of that Dorfromantik type of charm. - Building tools are intuitive and the logic-based switching system works well. The bad: - Interface, interface, interface: the game does not do a good job of…

Playing Super Loco World feels like sitting down to play toy trains with your little sibling, but they insist your doing it wrong constantly, making you conform to arbitrary rules of play that don't make sense and do not match the vibe of the cute plastic toys on simple wooden tracks. The game feels like an early access title, and needs mod support or updates badly. It crosses genres in a way that I don't understand - it claims to be "cozy" and looks and plays like it on the face, but in…

I want to like this game but too many QOL elements are missing. There is no encyclopaedia - so what kind of goods does this train carry? No way to know without buying a train. You can hover over a train to know what its name is, but you can't hover over a wagon to know what goods it carries? What does this switch do again? Sorry, there is a train on it, you have to wait. You want to place a switch on a bridge, already occupied, sorry. You want to place two switches at a location - no can…

If this had been in early access, I might've given it a pass - but unfortunately, it isn't, and it doesn't live up to its cozy first impression. On paper it looks neat, and there's a fleeting thrill when your trains roll like clockwork. Most of the time, though, it's pure frustration. You don't have enough options to build anything sophisticated. Each tile can hold only one object - so complex junctions are virtually impossible. Stations have a single platform, unlike Transport Tycoon's…

I absolutely adore this game. I had played the demo and fell in love instantly. Then I bought the game and got frustrated as there is no hand holding after the initial basic instructions. After a few days I picked it up again and took my time to figure our how to optimise rails and not go into debt. This has been my experience with the game: 1. Setting up optimal rails, switches, traffic lights, fuel depots to ensure no gridlock. 2. As supply and demand changes, you go back to #1. 3. Then…

This feels like a demo, not a finished game. Automation missing a lot on logic, side stations can be upgraded once or not at all. Finishing last quest to get a "super loco engine" leaves you with a "Victory" screen. Was nice to play, but it left me with a feeling of being cut off and blocked at the very beginning of what could be a good game.

I really wanted to like this game, I did. I love trains and signals and being autistic as hell about automation games and stuff like this. It's just, not good. The Game itself is mostly fine and only has little issues that compound over and over again to make the experience slowly LESS fun as time goes on, as opposed to more fun. The tutorial is very barebones and explains the very basics to you. Otherwise, you just have to experiment on your own. Which is potentially fine, but theirs very…

Game is fun for a while but the clunkyness really gets out of hand around level 5. Also I kept having an issue where trains would drop off supplies at the capital then stay there until I clicked them, I checked every setting I could find on the station, trains, stop lights ect but couldn't figure it out.

Bumping this game's review percentage because this is a very bug free and polished game. Sure there could be more features like bridges/underground track but I think that's apart of the intentional challenge. It would be nice to have a route viewer that essentially tells you where automated switches point and when signals trigger for that color line. Point in saying, if you like trains give them their very fair asking price of 10 bucks and have a blast

Mid game. Cute graphics, but obviously didn't get play tested, and can't seem to figure out what type of train game it wants to be. There are no "islands" as implied by the trailer. New goods and stations are locked up by quests. Reworking trains and tracks is a headache. So many better titles on Steam.

Overall, the game is very enjoyable and plays very well, but there is very little content. It lacks different maps, perhaps some puzzle levels to complete, maybe a storyline, some other building limits or something, or perhaps allowing players to create their own maps. The game has huge potential, but it's wasted, which is a shame. If the developer starts updating the game and adding new things, I think it will be worth buying in the future, but right now, definitely not

Finally an Arcady train building game that truly delivers a great experience This game is just a blast, casual gameplay with simple mechanics, somewhat great blocky graphics, directly supports 32:9 aspect ratio, which is just insane for a single developer. 10/10 Is beautiful and fun. There should be a Sandbox mode where you could go just insane with infinite money and all unlocked.

This game is so much fun. Don't let the looks deceive you, though. It is definitely a challenge. Despite it not having full-blown Autonauts logic, it has some real challenges in balancing and signal management. In a way it reminds me of Islanders: it's a chill game, but to get further and further you'll have to form strategies and figure out solutions to problems. If you like problem solving and vibing out with some trains, it's a no-brainer for the money. It's well worth the price.…

Ok, I don't like to leave negative reviews, however, when the train keeps driving in circles, and the signals don't work. I was also slightly frustrated by the fact that you can't configure the signals to go straight instead of a turn. THEY ALWAYS TAKE THE TURN, and it just frustrates me, because I shouldn't have to build a giant super computer just to get the one train I need to go straight, to go straight.

Calming, deeply enjoyable if simple game. Cash flow is an issue still; expansion is often difficult to gauge cost of, and most runs will end after a debt spiral while you're tabbed out, because one of the many traffic signs on your map is programmed incorrectly. Best enjoyed when you treat it like models, take your time, and don't push through the upgrades/levels. A bit content light at time of writing. A sandbox mode would take this game a long way.

Way too many glitches and bad designs to call it "cozy". Why can't I call two trains the same name? Would have been the easiest way tto assign two trains to tthe same route. Why can't I edit the rules of a crossing when a train is passing through it? Just apply the rules to the next train. I was unable to untangle the knot because of that, had to nuke the whole area to manually pull the trains apart. Everywhere in the game everything is made intentionally awkward and inconvenient to…

As a lover of trains, and of course, the classic Transport Tycoon, I was very excited by this game. I love building systems like this game offers. Unfortunately I'm struggling with building an efficient system due to one issue: The trains always take the first turn they come across. This means you need to build a signal for every crossing. Because track is relatively expensive, and real estate limited (particularly due to the single platform per station design), it's hard to build a 'bus' of…

For a game being about trains, the developer's decision of how train switches/turnouts function within the 3D environment drives me crazy. As someone who loves trains, the way they're handled in Super Loco World is a product of when the game's development was a top down 2D game as revealed in the dev diary video. Games like Islands & Trains, Conduct Deluxe, even the ancient Lego Loco, simply show the direction of the turnout with an arrow or direction of the throw bar. I wouldn't be making a…

Seems like a good game, but just doesn't make much fun since it is way to CLUNKY. You can't even RENAME a train when it is not in the depot, which is important for certain signals. The UI and controls are not done well and on the steam deck they're just bad.

the game is annoying and the 'story' mode isn't really a story as far as i can tell. Needs to be made more user friendly, many times it seems to require seeing the future (which is annoying when the mission says to do something you will soon regret.) and has no real way to undo mistakes "oh my train is full of wood but the town isn't taking much wood? can i do anything else with it? Nope just waste gas, or block the station and wait i guess.

Overall, I liked it. The junctions are really not intuitive (trains will ALWAYS turn instead of go straight if they can), I had to look up how to work with signals to get them to work. But once I got the hang of it, I enjoyed playing through the story. If you enjoy train automation and aren't afraid of some trial and error, go for it. That being said, there are probably better train games with more content available.

As much as I like the premise of this game, I find much of the execution to be frustrating - Terrain becomes an unnecessary object (because NO TUNNELS), also regions are too rng (you cant plan ahead because a new region generates somewhere randomly useless). The fact that the game operates continuously in Ironman mode and that some mistakes are hard to predict and understand makes it a paradoxically stressful experience at times. This game demonstrates why most train games have an auto-reverse mechanism. Meaning, the train will automatically turn itself around when you hit a dead-end. Without it, its an exercise in frustration and logistics. It leads into needing to micromanage switches and junctions to make sure each train ends up turning in the correct direction. An interesting concept that rapidly gets bogged down with tedium. Stations only have one platform, and with how many trains you need running to keep them supplied with the materials they need, you just end up with massive backlogs of trains waiting while your progress drains away. I've spent more time paused, ripping up and relaying networks trying to get stuff to work, than I have anything else, and it's just a boring drag when compared to other rail based games like it.

Its great! Relaxing, fun, and it makes you think and plan as networks get more and more complex. The beautiful thing is that there's no danger, trains automatically stop and avoid any catastrophes, so the worst thing that can happen is that you end up in a situation where you have to micromanage trains by stopping, moving and reversing them until you clear things out. Very well worth the money!!

So far is a fun game to organize trains. There needs to be a lot of work on the ui. Also I dont think there is a way of seeing if a train is full looking at the train cargo. This is needed at junctions. If a train is full I would like it to go one way, if not another. Would be useful at the station. Which is another issue. I would like to be able to have more than one input line for a station. Hopefully I can do that in the future, maybe I havent unlocked that yet.
