Star Wolves 2
Developer X-Bow Software
Six years have passed after the events of 2226 A.D. The balance in the galaxy has been restored as transgalactic corporations have been deported to the outskirts of the galaxy and deprived of their power. The Empire, just as before, continues to fight against the Aliens. As a rule armadas of battleships aren't used in such conflicts. From the Steam store page

And the main quest is probably worst of it. No much story to speak of, and when it was fially finished the main indication of the fact was that you were thrown bac to the starting screen. Overall, skip this one and go straight to SW3
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story is quite weak, and rather forgetable. Where this game shines is in the gameplay. Did I mention the voice acting is terrible? The voice acting is TERRIBLE. An example of the awful voice acting: http://youtu.be/wL_YXUtjvx4 Despite the games short comings (weak story, terrible voice acting) I would give this a definite try if you're into space shooters, and the price is low enough.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is like the unfinished version of the first SW. It copies most things from the old game and invents a single new idea of one "free to explore"-map. This idea combined with the technical problems breaks the game, therefore my advice is: STAY AWAY FROM THIS GAME! (Btw, dunno why i spent 12 hours on this, maybe i searched for "something" good in this game, but well, couldve played it through in 8 hours or less...) + RPG Part -> Copy from SW1 Skill/Perk system is not very complex but…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I first started playing this game I couldnt get past the voice acting. Then as the depth of the game developed I slowly slowly learned to actually like it. I have to say that this is one of the most graphically stunning games I have gotten off of steam. It would be extremly nice if there were more games that catered to low system specs. I personally have been drooling over eve online for ages. But it is just out of reach for my system. From what I know of that game this game has allot to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A quite good Sequel despite his harsh start (fighting Aliens in the second Main mission! WTF?) and a quite empty and lifeless Universe. Oh, and voiceacting is awful. But if you are patient and frust resistant enough, the Game rewards you with great and challenging, sometimes brutal Battles ( at least in the Main missions).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game after enjoying Star Wolves 1 but was really disappointed. I only got a few missions in due to this game being a buggy mess. My pc is a mid-tier running windows 7, played many games (old and new) via steam and this is the first one that I found unplayable. Star wolves 1 played alot smoother. This game also offers very little improvement over the first one (even recycling alot of character portraits etc). It offers an open world via portals, replacing the end mission rewards…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is in need of some serious patches as there are game breaking. Missions are broken, you do what your supposed to and dont get rewarded. Cargo missions seems to be alright. Docking with bases can result in your ship getting stuck and blowing up or just stuck. It will crash randomly. Voice acting, poor. This game was released too soon and quality control lacking. Star Wolves is fun. Star Wolves 2 is not. If you want to play something similar to Star Wolves try Haegemonia: Legions of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Play the third game instead)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Star wolves 2 was total crap. It's horridly buggy, you'll find yourself restarting the game a lot to resolve bugs, and sometimes cutscenes don't work right. Plus the ending was unbelieveably anticlimactic. Pretty sure this was rushed out the door. Star wolves 1 was OK, Star wolves 3 was GREAT. 2 needs to be wiped from memory.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This "Star Wolves 2" had potential to be a good game like SW1, but in reality is FAR inferior to "Star Wolves 1"! Despite it seemingly being almost indentical, seemingly using the same code, it is a lot buggier and less stable than "SW1"! - It crashes to desktop occassionally. "SW1" NEVER did that once. - Frame rates slow down in places enough to be noticably jerky! Even on a gaming PC (a budget one I admit), yet this game should not even tax the weakest non-gaming laptop! "SW1" always…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed the first SW but unfortunately I cannot recommend this one; although the combat and skill trees and overall presentation are familiar and still fairly good, other aspects have become dramatically worse in the sequel. The story is sparse, the systems require a lot of unnecessary travel through relatively empty/dead zones, and the progression to earn better ships/equipment is not as smooth or fun as in the first. You're better off either just playing SW1 or else checking out something…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is choppy and unplayable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seriously hate the button change out of the pause being changed from spacebar to [ and ]. Killed the fun for me. Otherwise take a look at it if you liked star wolves 1 you'll probably like 2 & 3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The weakest entry in Star Wolves trilogy. It feels unfinished when you play it and the story ends abruptly. It also crashed 3 times in my 10h playthrough. I would recommend it only while it is on sale, and only if you've played the other Star Wolves games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heya folks, here's a short taken from the intro to Star Wolves 2 by X-Bow Software and Fulqrum Publishing. Truth be told, this game is my least favorite game in the Star Wolves series. I couldn't get past the terrible voice acting lol. #starwolves2 #videogames #retrogaming #shorts #intro
unlabelledView post →The second game in this series that I enjoy so much is in a weird spot for me. Although definitely the most underwhelming entry in the series it did have some of my favourite features. I have completed 2 playthroughs at the time of this review Pros: - The combat system is exactly the same as before and still feels satisfying - Your mothership gets pilots. With no sacrifices. - 10+ hours for single playthrough - More replay value then the first game, but still limited - Graphics aged really…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thoroughly enjoyed SW 1 and 3, but cannot say the same for SW 2. It feels rushed, full of bugs or unbalanced features (e.g. generic missions with rewards in ten thousands of credits and poof - one of them, completely uninteresting, with reward of 0.5M). Main missions are much worse balanced than in SW1. It is possible to free roam, but there is absolutely no reason apart of fulfillment of boring generic get and fetch or kill all enemies missions),.. All the good features were already in SW 1,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A copy from the first game but with out the fun part. On top of that there is a bug with the dogfights that makes impossible hit enemy ships... yes the one with the white lines that never dissapears. Do not waste your time in this crap.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yes, Yes, Yes, I love this game because its just the kind of game that suits me to the ground. I love the music, the way it looks is awesome, but the whole game could do with a good polishing up, some of the skills don't seem to work, it crashes out, and the whole pathfinding for the main ship is in need of a rework( like when u tell the ship to go to the warp gate from the store the ship will just fly in to the store ). but all-in-all i love this game its fun to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Star Wolves 2 is a sci-fi/space opera themed 3D rendered RTS/RPG hybrid where you give orders to your space mercenaries and participate in tactical fleet battles. It's the sequel to the equally well received Star Wolves. It's a great idea aping the tremendous success of games like Homeworld with an RPG twist, but the implementation is too dated. There's no widescreen or even HD support. The mouse pointer is bizarrely tweaked (some old implementation of a software cursor?) and simply too…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →During the tutorial I can't get my fighter to attack the targets. That's a bad sign about the game design. I'm quitting now.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The 3 Star Wolves are quite the hidden gems. Each of them are the same game with a different campaign and new content. Its a mixture between an RPG and Homeworld and I must say it works well and entertains well.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Complete crap, don't buy it if you liked the first game, because you'll get very disappointed. The music is decent, voice acting terrible (in the first game, the voice actors didn't speak English too well, but it was a lot better, and had more actors). The game's incredibly easy, it lets you get insane amounts of money from the equipment dropped by the enemies (which are also easy). It's insanely linear - fly to this sector, pretend that you don't expect a trap, kill everyone, fly to a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like this one, but I don't. I really liked Star Wolves and all the components are there: - dreadful dialogue and voice acting - RPG space combat sim - Same gameplay as the first but the bugs are just too many and too painful. Give it a miss - maybe 3 will be better again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you don't speak Russian feel free to skip this title as it has absolutely abhorrent voice acting with absolutely no emotion and no emphasis of punctuation. It is just read line by line and is absolutely terrible. Furthermore the Russian campaign contains significantly more voice files that simply don't exist in the English localization. Lastly, when I played this game vanilla, I was unable to unpause the game with spacebar. However after applying the Russian patch that was fixed. It…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's much worse than the first one in every aspect. Pacing and difficulty curve are all over the place (you start off fighting aliens with 2 fighters and when you get more pilots and weapons you fight Yaris and Hatchets); the mission-aftermath-mission progression that always made me want to see what's next untill I finally noticed it's 3am is replaced with an "open world" of linked, empty, boring systems, and several missions ask you just to go through 5 or so systems, do nothing and fight…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NIce game. Not very good voice acting and the plot also isn't best but it's not common to have freedom of going where you want and when you want, do some subquests or hunt some pirates before doing main quests. However game is quite buggy. I've managed at least fix the problem od crashes every few minutes. You should find star wolves 2.exe, select properties, compatibility, and tag disable visual themes and disable desktop composition. I'm not sure it will help everyone but after doing that i…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cannot recommend, the "feel" of the game is like from 90s(90s bad "feel") a lot of cumbersome controls and frustration about game engine and design.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh god almighty, this product sucks. Dont. Play the third game instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10 years ago this might be good game but now it aged quite a bit both in visual side as well as everything else, you can probably make it through, adapt and maybe even enjoy but why do this in this day and age where there are so many great games to choose from.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent game, it's like predecessor of Nexus: The Jupiter Incident or homeworld. Controll is little bulky but It's fairly easy to learn, nice customization and soundtrack is awesome, gameplay can be challenging which is really great. Tho graphics are really dated and narration is teribble.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was really hoping the controls had been fixed from the first game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A quick word about this game, there are bugs, it did not get completely finished. The voice acting is terrible. The story isnt brilliant. Know what you are getting into before you buy. You will need multiple save files, and to save at each stage of a mission in a new file. However, the gameplay is good and fun. I have played Sw 1 and 3. Therefore i know roughly what is going on. If you are presistent, and enjoy this type of game it is worth your time, knowing the above.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good - everything is same as star wolves 1, ship looks different bad ( VERY BAD ) - incredibly short, took me just several hours to finish including heavy loading. Most of the time I spent just moving from one system to another. One major battle at the end and curtain went down Review: it is so short, that there is basically impossible to evaluate the game. It brings the whole piece down and shame on original game, which was good fun. This is barely size of an add-on, to call it Star Wolves 2…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Voice acting is horrendous, seriously guys, just say it in Russian and dub it, game will sound way cooler and more authentic. User interface is complete garbage. UI was so bad I hit control alt delete and that didn't even work. Reminds me of some 1980s games UI, not something that was made after 2000.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible game. The original Star Wolves was brilliant; Star Wolves 3 I can *highly* recommend. This game... I mean... *Damn*... It's a sandbox version of Star Wolves, but a poor version of Star Wolves with worse graphics, crashes routinely and has a bleaker environment than an *actual box of sand*. Most of the sectors are dead apart from the odd pirate and a few rocks, and you move so painfully slow you will watch hours of your life disappear that you will NEVER GET BACK. Then it'll crash.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is too buggy to be enjoyable. The mothership/whale gets beached nearly every time you stop at a trade station. There is too much wasted time just flying though empty space trying to get to distant quadrants for a short battle, and then slogging back. The missions are boring. SW1 was such an awesome game; this game seems to never have been playtested. It is very sad.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I came, I tried... it failed
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A lot of bugs, bad ingame mechanics, less user-friendly interface compared with Star Wolves 1. Great delusion.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Star Wolves 2 is a space strategy and tactical RPG hybrid developed by X-Bow Software and published by Fulqrum Publishing, continuing the mercenary-driven sci-fi saga established in the original Star Wolves. Set several years after the first game’s events, it drops players back into a fractured galaxy where corporate power struggles, imperial ambitions, and alien threats collide in a tense, unstable political climate. Rather than focusing on grand fleet battles alone, the game centers on a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How did I end up with 0.4h of playtime with Star Wolves 2? As far as I recall, I played a retail version of SW1 back when it came out, and no more of the series since. I have no idea why I even own this on steam. Apparently it's a bad game, so I'll just echo this. Why does this review exist? Who knows. The game does have a nice cover, though.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tutorial glitched out and wouldn't let me progress, between that and the overall review score I have no desire to continue.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sequel to Star Wolves: a Slav Jank Space Adventure, Star Wolves 2: A sticky mess is not a good game. It is quite clear that the scope was grand, the mechanics set up building the larger world of the Star Wolves saga. Failure to deliver on that scope though makes this world dead and filled with boring, repetitive sidequests. The game throws away whatever balance its prequel had in favor of throwing your way either numbers or damage sponges that puke damage your way. Once you get good at…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This piece of crap bugged and I couldn't continue the damn story. I can't recommend this trash. Also, the damn voice acting is even worse then the first iteration of this series. As for the rest, what can I say about a game that stopped me from playing it!? No, I can't recommend this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s OK I guess but I’m not really not a fan of those point-and-click games I like driving the ♥♥♥♥ that’s the whole point of space Sam’s
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the worst reviewed game in the series. I got it because I wanted a complete set of the series. Need more time to review it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tags: RTS - Real Time Strategy Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Mouse sensitivity issues. Camera difficult to handle. Unconventional controls. Janky user interface. Dated engine. Unfun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just as horrible as the previous game. Horrible tutorial and some mouse functions do not work.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a great classic
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →doenst really work under windows 10 was a fan was star wolves 1 back in the days. problem is, that the ships dont really fire upon targets and it looks really strange. i think its not suitable for modern hardware/os. regards
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the seires their are a few glitches
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The... Voice acting....pauses...... for 3 to 4 seconds..... every..... 3.... to 4 words.... The controls are terrible, Worst I've seen. The tutorial teaches you nothing... And it's the *exact* same one as SW1. Died during tutorial because I could tell if I was attacking or not. This is a game that would have been considered decent in 1993 or so. It's terrible.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Most worst peice of crap ive bought. Dont buy. Begining is hard you dont know what your doing controls are comped. BUY HOMEWORLD COLLECTION! Id rather spend 35 dollars then 3 dollars "cant rember price of this horrible game". Buy Homeworld this is just horrible. I can make a better game in un-real engine
