Upon arrival, you find a colony under siege by alien invaders and it's your task to save the colony. 'Siege of Centauri' has all it takes to be a good tower defense game. Nice graphics, different type of towers that allow players to setup a perfect defense, divers type of enemies, plus special attacks from your mother-ship that hovers in orbit to support your troops…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Senselessly difficult even at easy settings, and overloaded to the gills. Instead of employing AI, the game employ overrun and unfair twists.. If you want a TD game that works well, take a look at Defense Grid 2.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My mistake. I didn't read and believe the other negative reviews. I can confirm the following. Having no wait time between waves is really bad for game play. The first few maps are easy to finish. The maps progress to becoming ridiculously hard in a way that ruins the enjoyment of playing the game. I am uninstalling this game and calling it a loss.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got it on early access. Almost 5 years after full release... Still waiting for it to become a Completed game worth releasing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unbalanced game play with overwhelming swarms where it feels more like a RTS instead of a tower defense game. Towers are too niche which would be fine if enemies were not coming from every direction so i ended up doing multiple replays trying to find the right combo but it was not happening due to the overwhelming enemies and the cost of towers and upgrading them which is equivalent of upgrading the main base. Too little resources for what is needed to be built even when using buildings which…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →l love tower defense games and there is just nothing fun about this game. You pretty much never have enough credits to upgrade towers to level 2 and 3. The types of towers is limited. Maps are are so spread out in design its basically just a game of put 1 of every tower for each lane. Graphics are just ok, nothing amazing. Sounds effects are less than impressive. But the gameplay, is just boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3/10 - for Campaign experience (didn’t played endless mode) Visuals – Great Story (1/4 Campaign) – Meh, mediocre at best Sound – Ok, voiceovers nothing special Gameplay (1/4 Campaign) – Bad Technical Stability – Bad Usually I don’t write reviews on games that I didn’t finished but this will be one of the exceptions because I want a refund, Yes – Mixed rating is justified and may be even generous. Played 7-8/25 campaign missions on normal, didn’t played endless mode (some say it’s much better…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is ok, but it isnt realy engaging, the map is large the towers small, there are almost identical enemies, and the story is not engaging. I wouldnt buy this game unless you are super into TD games, and then willing to replay every map several times till you know exactly whats comming so you can lay out your twoers just right.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This Tower Defence game felt more like a RTS. I always felt rushed. Never had enough money to buy the towers I needed. It was stressful playing it, instead of relaxing, which is generally what a TD should be. IMO, TD should be about placing your towers before the wave starts. Then watching the wave and adjusting the tower choice. However Siege of Centauri give you enough for only 2 or 3 towers to start and you constantly feel like you're behind the curve, waiting to have enough money to buy…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was a long time Stardock fan but have become very leery of the brand in recent years. This game does not age well. It worked when I purchased the early access version in 2019. Now the game crashes so frequently it's unplayable. Each subsequent update of Windows 10 makes the game more and more unstable leading to frequent crashes. The odds are high the cause of this is likely that Stardock is using very outdated development tools. Why do I say that, because no modern development libraries…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Siege of Centauri is one of the best looking tower defence games available and as a tower defence aficionado, I would say it is worth playing. Forgive the comparison, but Siege of Centauri was clearly made by and for people who are looking to scratch their [url=store.steampowered.com/app/18500/Defense_Grid_The_Awakening/]Defense Grid itch. It turns out that Siege of Centauri has some fairly obvious references in it that pay homage to Defense Grid, namely the interface looks almost like it was…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hey, I do enjoy strategy games and tower defenses were always interesting for me. Most experience I had with the genre was with some custom map on StarCraft/WarCraft or Anomaly Warzone Earth. Here are Pros and Cons in my opinion: Good things: - Very good visuals, models, and projectiles/explosions - Good paced, fun - Variety of towers, enemies, maps - Nice idea about abilities and resource system: metal & energy The Bad - Generally without crashes, freezing, saves corruptin (there were some…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A challenging and ultimately rewarding Tower Defense for those willing to look past the game's flaws. Siege of Centauri is not the perfect game. The early-mid game levels can sometimes feel a bit repetitive, and just as the game levels start to become interesting with more enemy type and tactical variety, the game ends. Those wanting challenge (I'm a long time TD veteran and I restarted levels multiple times on Normal) and don't mind trudging through a weak early game will find a lot to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game does not feel finished. It crashes constantly and you need to do some juggling with your security settings to get the guns to show. It shows promise and the bones of a very good game are there but at this moment in time the fame is a fail.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty cool TD game, however not even like 5 missions in and normal mode felt like it was on insane hard mode. Some upgrades punish you. Towers that did great early on now feel like they dont do enough dmg. And what used to be easy and fun upgrades now feels like nothing you do will stop the enemies attacking your buildings. Been trying to use trainers but this game stays updated so no go their. Seemed like a cool TD game but Defence grid is still the best one that wins out. If you can get it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not bad, but does not scratch the same itch as "Defense Grid" (1). I don't really like all the levels with multiple entrypoints. They just play too busy. There's no time to enjoy the havoc your turrets are doing, because you hectically have to build up another lane for the next wave only to realize something snuck through because you have to focus your attention elsewhere. You always seem behind the curve and the orbitals are often the only way to survive. Perhaps it's different for people who…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While technically interesting and featuring a number of quality of life options that others in the genre could take notes from, I can't recommend the game. All it really has is it's campaign, since the custom map scene is dead, and the story is, frankly, atrocious - we hear a character dies, and next mission they're alive and talking for no reason. It feels like the people who actually made the game wanted to do better, but got told to shove it out the door and abandon it, it's badly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →campaign forces you to use certain type of tower or you WILL fail the mission. Too fast paced to enjoy the destruction and not enough resources to build a well rounded defence at all the locations around the map you get attacked. Don't waste your money. Unless you put the difficulty on low you wont finish the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like Ashes of the Singularity, you will probably also like this tower defense spin-off
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Utterly boring, i expected more from the company that gave us Sins of a Solar empire. Trash game, avoid till it's 90% off steam summer sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buggy mess. Triple GTX 1080 in SLI should manage better than 8fps--Ashes of the Singularity runs at max (140fps+). Wait for the engine to enter the 21st century before buying.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Promissing game, but way too many crashes and bugs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My first 2 hours were spent trying to get the game to run. I managed to play through 4 or 5 campaign missions before the game started crashing to desktop. Disappointing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Damn it! It keeps crashing! There is no error message so there is no telling what is wrong. I have a fairly strong computer, I can play most games at max settings. This game however doesn't seem to want to be played. I had been waiting for a TD. I hopes beyond hope this would be it. It wasn't.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an awesome TD, I can definitely recommend it. You have a pre-game moment where you define your towers and upgrades, being able to freely respec. You can also choose the difficulty among a big slider to suit the challenge you want. Powerful towers feel chunky and tough enemies are satisfying to beat. The game COULD have some QoL like being able to preview the map before entering and visualizing the map after a victory/loss. Got this on a sale and definitely recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is ass, has been ass, will continue to be ass. Don't waste your money
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →yes it's like an ashes of singularity mod and yes there is a huge difficulty increase after mission 4. normally the first few missions are like a tutorial. luckily there are like 10 difficulty levels so you'll never get stuck on a mission. tons of turrets to choose from and use during missions adds lots of replayability. i'm totally surprised about all the negative reviews this is a fantastic tower defense game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While i like the game its fun and entertaining its biggest problem and a problem i have with all games that do this you cant use all the towers you can only pic 12 at a time while i understand it idea around it and a lot of people like or dont care i am someone who likes to use and have everything a game offers if its there i should be able to use it anyway i desire for my fun and gaming experience i should have the freedom to make up my own strat and way of dealing with the invaders so i do…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Standard tower defence, suffering from all the problems associated with that.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very enjoyable game that easily worth 10-15 bucks. Many reviews complain about the game's difficulty level but I had no issues with that. I completed some missions on hard and the rest on challenging. Normal is very do-able, it does just enough to keep you on your toes without giving ridiculous buffs to your enemies. Difficulty does not increase AI's intelligence or the amount of units you have to fight, it just gives the enemy more HP while giving you more handicaps. Beyond hard it gets a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A usual defense game, with nothing new or special. There is about 20 towers that you unlock as you go through the campaign, and 8 abilities. You can only select 12 towers that will be available in the game. You can unlock 3 upgrades per tower and you can re-assign these upgrade points freely between games, however you only get 1 upgrade point per map completed. Within the game, each tower can be upgraded twice. There is a nice choice of towers and variety of enemies - at the beginning I saw…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good tower defense but it crashes too much
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game does not bring any new ideas to tower defense. Graphics are not particularly great, and the story is incredibly disjointed and nonsensical pieces of other better stories you've seen before.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not great, not bad. The only real special thing that stands out is the fact, that there are sometimes hundreds of units on the screen. Expect from that, it's a pretty standard tower defence game. You can adjust the difficulty, so I don't undeerstand why many people complain about that, I didn't had any problems. Got it pretty cheap in a bundle, otherwise I would advise to wait for discount. 6/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A tower defense game with nice graphics and overall presentation. It's a shame it doesn't bring anything new to the genre. Siege of Centauri: Siege of Centauri takes place in the same universe as the more popular strategy game Ashes of the Singularity. Despite all the bells and whistles, this is still a tower defense game. 📕Story: The story is pretty light and you're not even welcomed by an intro when you enter the game. All you need to know is presented during mission briefings when…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An ok tower defense. Could use deeper upgrade tree and more specialisation to reduce tower spam.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice, at the very reduced sale price (about US$3 in Brazil). This was fun enough, and has a nice variety of towers, upgrades, and the tactical puzzle that they present. I didn't like the graphics, and towers are very hard to tell apart, specially when zoomed out. Main campaign feels short - 6.5 hours. Still, there is quite a bit left to do. Story is minimal.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like this game as I like a lot of the work that Stardock does, but I just can't recommend unless you pick this up on sale. The story is severely lacking and the ending is just bad. A character makes a return that makes no sense and the enemies don't have any real story to them. The towers are varied enough to be interesting but everything just feels disconnected. Then again I really enjoyed the Defense Grid games so I am probably biased
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game loves it's micro freezing, Ashes of the Singularity never stutttered ass much as this thing does... So it's a maybe from me
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Continious crashes to desktop. Basically not playable! But aside from that, promising TD-game. I´d love it if it works.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A decent Tower Defense game, 70/100. Can be a little challenging to get 1-2 of the achievements but managed all in under 12h, outside of these achievements there isn't really much replay ability to the game. Maps, Towers, units are all really good, recommend picking it up during a deep sale if you have spare funds lying around, nice game to chill to in-between the online mayhem,
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Siege of Centauri overall is a very fun tower defense game I would recommend at full price to any strategy lover. PROS: - interesting towers - interesting enemies - large amounts of units on screen - challenging, especially the ending - easy to pickup - nicely implemented slow-mo system - good UI | good SFX | good visuals (will run on a potato) - custom map making, but * (see below) CONS: - bad voice acting - slightly lacks personality, feels kind of generic & a little cold (maybe due to the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game! Great if you don't want to spend hours learning complicated keyboard controls.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good tower defense game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its pretty much Ashes of the Singularity TD. Its ok and i havent had any crash in my one hour play as of now (that was about 7 missions played. Had massive fps drops in some instances though. Overall the TD is solid. Not great, not innovative or anything, but ok. Actually think that a coop mode and some more depth in terms of what you can build and how you upgrade could have turned this into a real gem. If you are looking for that, i recommend "No Creeps were harmed TD", as it has pretty much…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really cool defend the tower game. I like this game, it's kinda like chess to me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I truly hope Steam will allow scoring someday instead of just a thumbs up or a thumbs down for a game. Siege of Centauri is another game that I didn't hate or even especially "dislike." It just didn't grab me at all and I wasn't especially enthused or compelled by it. I really enjoy tower defense games and while the call-down units and some of the towers were pretty nice, the incredibly zoomed-out nature intended for the game has enemies feeling more like little dots and lacking as much variety…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have no idea how the game was at the time of release. I have bought it on sale (50% off) and in April 2022 it runs with no issues on my machine, no crashes etc. It is a very cool game, totally enjoy playing it. If you like tower defence, this is a solid example of the genre. Great value for money.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →nothing wrong with this TD game , people disliked it because of CTD's or something on release,as far as gameplay it is pretty good actually. There are plenty of discounts on this game, and then it is worth the $ for sure.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →From a plot perspective this is related to ashes of singularity. I am really not sure where this game went wrong but I felt bored and forced my self to finish it on easy mode about half way through to wrap it up and uninstall.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A solid, if by the numbers, tower defense game. The game does some things well, and some things not so well and the only feature that is a bit different is in the number of enemies that can be on the screen at one time. The swarm units are truly swarm units, usually coming in the hundreds. Other than that, nothing much to differentiate it from other tower defense games. For the good, it does have a good variety of towers, upgrades, enemies and abilities. More than most, though I found I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A balanced and interesting tower defense game that utilizes tower upgrades, perk selection, and active global abilities.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tower defense game. It's pretty 'generic' but does have some nice quality of life improvements that many other games could take note of. Such as a tutorial that tries to guide you the right way at the start but doesn't 'force' you like many other games do. The story on the campaign is pretty campy and the voice actors sound so 'bored', lol. I'd rate this one 'mixed' if I could, would get this one on sale if you really like the genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game great graphics, but you need a capable mid range computer to run it smoothly.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just tower defence with lag
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a great tower defense game and I cant understand why it's rated so poorly on steam. Sure, it's difficult and at times you might feel stuck, but sometimes simply changing up your strategy a couple of times will let you break open the level. I finished the campaign and all achievements in about 10 hours, so it is short, but there are other modes such as endless and scenario mode to add a bit more gameplay. Thoroughly enjoyed this one and I've already recommended it to some friends of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A minimal tower defense game. Pros: - Decent enough Cons: - No technology tree to invest in specific towers other than upgrading in the field If you have never played a tower defense before you will probably enjoy this. However, I found the game-play too minimalist and decided to get a refund rather than hold on to it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is awesome. I can't recall one time the game froze up or had some playability issue. I don't even have a top of the line PC, just something I built for less than $1000, so I guess I did something right. The towers are super cool, enemies are super difficult, it's a great game for not a high price. I wish they would come out with more content, but there's plenty of play time for what it does have.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended only if it is 50% or more off.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like Tower Defense, you'll definitely love this game!
