It’s really transparently obvious the reason is sexism

Makes me want to watch Dusk til dawn again - Lenny kravitz. Looks SO GOOD in pearls
unlabelledView post →Grandma is watching Shotgun Wedding. It's not really my thing, I was expecting an action film based on the pirates but it's more of a rom-com. So yeah, I've given up on watching it
unlabelledView post →In the new movie You Are Cordially Invited, there's a wedding scene on a dock, and I hoped it would suddenly turn out to be a sequel to Shotgun Wedding and the great actors Sonia Braga & Jennifer Coolidge would rise from a swimming pool singing a pop love ballad in unison.
unlabelledView post →The end of Shotgun Wedding has a karaoke rendition of Walk Like An Egyptian. Not the best film of 2022, but worth watching for Jennifer Coolidge alone
unlabelledView post →I watched Shotgun Wedding on Prime last weekend, fun film. Very well written & while the film doesn't nail everything, even the bits that don't quite land as intended are fun. It's a nice mix of action and comedy. And Jennifer Coolidge with a machine gun? More of that please!
unlabelledView post →I wouldn't say the Marvel movies really hit that niche, but the D&D movie did. Shockingly, I found that the Orson Fortune and and Shotgun Wedding movies on Amazon really nailed the Action Comedy thing, and I suspect The Lost City (2022) probably did as well.

Sound comedy premise that has its moments. But overall underdeveloped with many missed comedic opportunities, particularly considering the potential of some of the cast. unlabelledView post →Watched Shotgun Wedding starring J-Lo and Josh Duhamel, as well as a great supporting cast, and gotta admit it was a 5/5 for me. Not sure what the hate was when that movie released, but it kept me engaged all the way through the end credits. Best of the action rom-com genre in a decade. #movies

unlabelledView post →I got what I expected from 'Shotgun Wedding'. It is exactly the type of film that you'd think it would be, mostly in a negative way. I like Jennifer Lopez and she's solid enough, while Jennifer Coolidge and Lenny Kravitz are the minor standouts elsewhere. The rest? I don't have any positives, I'm afraid. The plot is pointlessly overdone and overstays its welcome, as anticipated. I, personally, wouldn't go as far to say it's a bad movie, but it most definitely fails to entertain. I do like the…

unlabelledView post →Shotgun Wedding struggles to balance its goofy tone but has some funny moments. Shotgun Wedding used the kidnapped couple in danger and rediscovering love plot that we have seen in many other rom-coms like The Lost City but struggled with balancing the serious subject matter with its goofy moments. With all the wedding guests taken hostage, it raised the stakes a little too high and made it harder to laugh. But Jennifer Coolidge cut threw all that and delighted, entertained, and stole every…

unlabelledView post →Shotgun Wedding was a bit of a surprise. The story is very generic, with a movie being released last year with a very similar overarching theme, but the dialogue and characters really save it. There are plenty of genuinely funny moments in the film that had me and my fiancé cracking up. Jennifer Lopez shines and Josh Duhamel is great, their chemistry was superb together. I did find some of the scenarios to be completely unbelievable, but that is part of the fun in these romantic comedy action…

To stop gun violence, we need self-guiding bullets that find their individual target. Literally, a bullet would not work unless it had your name on it 😁. (I wrote this after watching #shotgunwedding. Arghh. The 2nd comedy this week with death by hand grenade.) https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/17/magazine/tesla-autopilot-self-driving-elon-musk.html
