Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened is an adventure video game developed and published by Frogwares. It is a remake of the 2007 game Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened and the tenth installment in the Sherlock Holmes series. The remake builds upon the original game with updated visuals, a new voice cast, and improved gameplay. The plot was also reworked to serve as a sequel to the 2021 game Sherlock Holmes Chapter One. The world is closed and the story is very linear, so there are not many surprises outside the main plot. Even with this stiffness, the game makes up for it with its strong atmosphere. The last sequence did annoy me a bit as in that sequence as opposed to literally any other moment in the game, there's always only one correct option. They managed to capture the lovecraftian and sherlock themes in a way that really draws you in and stays reasonably true to the original works. A big part of the game is figuring things out on your own, with minimal help. There is a heavy focus on Sherlocks mindpalace and deciding on a character portrait, very engaging and fun. Sometimes you get to play as Watson.

One clue i needed to progress was pushed outside of the small viewable area around a sack of sand. Nothing i did, reloading from a save file, restarting the game, uninstalling and reinstalling, fixed this issue.
