I had hopes for this game, but unfortunately it seems like it won't be developed further, and I don't think it's worth the price in its current state. Even with the current 30% off I'd say only get it if you really like what you see. The game is mostly good, very atmospheric, nice music, there are no major bugs. However the gameplay is very rigid/static/uncreative, short and unbalanced. There are interesting ideas in it, but they aren't developed enough or used in a meaningful way. That's the…

Not quite sure how to review this. I will preface this with saying that this isn't a terribly long game. Seeds of Resilience is a really curious genre hybrid. I could almost describe it as Dwarf Fort or Rimworld, but turn based. This allows you to choose what each of your castaways do each day in extreme detail - whether it's farming, building, or something else. Understanding the cycle of seasons on the island, and how to manage the island's limited resources to avoid starving or running out,…

TDLR: Wait a year and check back, It still has a long way to go. So I played this game for 4 hours on stream. Going into it I had high hopes and was wanting to have a good time. I found the missions or tutorial in this case lacking a bit. Some of it is intuitive gamer stuff, but I feel a tutorial should handhold a bit. Pretend the player has never picked up a video game before let alone your game. It should explain the main mechanics of the game with lots of arrows pointing at what you need…

[url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/32732116-IndieGems/]Follow our curator page: IndieGems if you like and want to see more reviews like this one. This is an Early Access look into the game. Seeds of Resilience is a colonony management and survival game in a turn-based format. The game is still in very Early Access. There are no Campaigns yet, though these seem to be in the works. As a result there is currently no (real) tutorial, since the beginning Campaign levels are meant to be…

Binged the whole thing in a weekend and enjoyed it all. For the price it's great value. The turn based survival system works well, way better than I expected. All the reviews about lack of tutorial and clarity are presumably before the missions update - these make the mechanics very clear imo. My only gripes would be that the balance is off - fishing is expensive for poor returns, while farming is easy and swamps you with food. Sometimes felt like there wasn't much to manage and strategise…

I liked this game... for 9 hours. After that I'd beaten the game and realized it has ZERO replayability. If I were to start a new game I'd just end up doing the same exact thing, no options to go a different route or try something different. This feels like an early access game due to the lack of content. This game had decent potential but only getting single digit hours of fun out of it means it's a "no" for me, dawg. Just keep playing something like Rimworld for the 600th playthrough.

What we have here is another case of a developer making a game and taking for granted that because they know how it works, everyone will. The tutorial is literally a few steps and then nothing. There is no research, things just unlock as you go. There is no explanation at all anywhere on what things are or how they work. It is a simple concept, sure enough but with absolutely no help at all it is far more complicated than it needs to be. I am not going to give it a pass because it is early…

I know it is silly but all I could think of was: I would love to play Anno instead. I am not even sure why. In theory it is exactly how I would want it in game with survival theme. It feels a bit weird to have a "worker placement" game without meples visible on map, even when distance doesn't matter in game. And to have 100% deterministic turn base game except for random winds that might or might not destroy important buildings.

The game is in desperate need of a beefier crafting and construction list, certainly, but more than that it needs to find its purpose, or a hook of any kind. There’s nothing to latch onto, and no moment where everything clicks and it becomes clear where the game is heading.

I enjoyed this charming little village building management game. The premise of the game is quite simple, you're tasked with building a small village on a tiny island with very finite resources. You'll have to ensure that your villagers have food and a place to rest. This is a turn-based game, where each villager only has a certain amount of hours to complete tasks. Each villager has certain tasks they're good at, and doing a task increases the villager's skill at it. The gameplay consists…

This game is fun... for a while. Possibly 5-10 hours. There's little direction in the game. So the first few hours are actually the best - you're learning the system, how to survive, what works, and what doesn't. You'll get thrown new mechanics, then slowly craft your way up the chain. You'll deal with disasters with the notable buildings getting blown down - but then suddenly, you won't because your buildings are now too hardy. At this point, you've basically won. And... that's it. Only the…

    >> IN SHORT << Gameplay: An isometric turn based island survival game that feels like a mobile games adaptation to PC. Characters have energy to spend and must meet food requirements. Storms knock buildings down and you must rebuild. Goal is to escape the island. You only do resource management in this game. The idea is pretty interesting, but all the resource limit are just purely stupid. You can only fix building with same type of tree they were built with, and you can't even manually select which kind resource to spend.

The concept of the game is good though I had to say that this game is still early and there is a lot of work needs to be done. However, the game does have potential. The graphics are simple but not bad, it's interesting to see how the game develop and I can't wait to see improvements. I have tried restarting a new game several times since the map is generated according to your seed. Something needs to be fix about this because I tried a random seed and there is at least 2 of the generated map…

This is a great Proof of Concept. Clearly, a lot of effort went into research for the game, but this project will never realize its potential. It suffers from classic first-time developer issues: the small team spent years re-doing the artwork, re-doing the User Interface, changing game engines, instead of focusing on gameplay. They got burnt out and decided to release in this state; a game with little progression and no story. I suppose this is a half-decent survival simulator, where you…

Review copy provided by publisher The greatest danger to any survival game is falling into a rut of tedium, because the actual process of feeding and sheltering yourself isn’t really all that fun. Subnautica has led the pack for years because it heavily prioritized exploration and construction over menial tasks. Seeds of Resilience brings a novel approach to the survival table, one based more on turns and time management than hoovering up resources. It’s an interesting take, one that takes the…

5/10 'Meh, It's alright got a good 16 hours' Once I did a round of survival, and it brought me back to the main menu, it became apparent that I'd probably already seen pretty much all there was in the game. It has missions, sure, but that's scenarios. Not really more content, or evolving gameplay. Meh. It's alright. Got a good 16 hours worth. Could probably do with a bit more 'progression' stuff in survival. You know, like if things changed, or you were able to unlock different buildings,…

The missions that teach you how to play the game are pretty straight forward, but the third mission in just seems like it wants you to accomplish things in a VERY SPECIFIC MANNER. One step off of the games predetermined path, and you fail the mission. Not a problem, right? Wrong. It doesn't tell you the VERY SPECIFIC MANNER, it just gives you objectives. If you don't use your time the exact way the game wants you, which you have to figure out using trial and error with NO ROOM for error, you…

The game is enjoyable. It's slow, calm, peaceful, and makes a good time-killer. But, the core Missions are not well thought out. They range from "Tutorial Easy," to "You have to everything in exactly the right way and hope a Storm doesn't screw you." (I'm looking at you Desert Island.) The game also has a lot of room to be fleshed out. The learning Curve is kinda brutal, because you aren't given any real direction outside "Get food, make homes, and do the Objective," and as calm and passive…

A little rough around the edges but still a fun and engaging experience. Start with the missions as the first few offer a tutorial which is badly needed. After that you can either keep going through the missions as they get harder or move on to the sandbox where you try to build a ship and sail back to civilization. You start out with some ragged hungry castaways spearing fish on the beach to survive and gradually build a sophisticated supply chain which will allow you to build the ship. You…

I want to like it, I really really do. As an idea, I like it- you can pick your characters with specific qualities in mind to have the best chance to survive. You have to prioritize food and shelter, and each character has unique qualities that will affect your gameplay. I like the soundtrack as well. It's incredibly frustrating though- it's unbalanced and everything is highly dependent on your seed. There's very little information available for help, which is bad because there aren't really…

Seeds of Resilience is a turn based ISO presented survival/crafting game where you wash up on an island and must click on the various tiles to harvest berries, wood, make tools and structures. All the elements of a survival game are there, except for the graphics. This comes across as a Facebook clicker game, and while it has a refreshing amount of depth, the presentation is barely adequate. A game like this had so much potential for a good quality stream game but after 90 minutes, it bored me, it is the eat, sleep, repeat of games like shooters etc. Missions/Tutorial starts had people dying within 2 or 3 days, it should be stamina based rather than Turn based, it takes far too much to make even an axe if your characters aren't ready. To be simple, in only 6 days I already spent 28 hours on the game! What struck me the most are the gorgeous graphics. I've been wondering what a turn-based colony or city building game would be like, and now I finally get to find out. So far it's a good experience, but, being in early access, it obviously has quite a ways to go. The user interface and lack of zoom are my primary gripe at the moment. This is definitely worth keeping an eye on if you are into colony management games.

Good survival game that is more about optimizing your crew to do what they are best at. The build tree is quite messy as it is not intuitive what comes next, unless you are an actual survivor of one of these islands. It is quite hard to refer to which characters should sleep with who and their stats unless you check on them one by one.

The game feels like it's still in beta. It does a bad job at telling you what stuff is, what you need to build things and how those things work. You end up wasting a lot of time trying and failing. When you finally feel like you get it the level is over and you move on to new unknowns.

Be aware, Achievements are broken to the extreme. You will get a handful, and then afterwards, nothing else. The only really disappointing thing about the game is that it's not under active development. Apparently it was a one person dev team and they've spent years bringing the game to this point. I don't blame them for taking a long break from it. All that said, easily worth the skimpy $20 (usually less) that it sells for on Steam. As colony builder's go, I like the turn based approach, but it will shine better as the game gets more complex.
