For full review, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RZlwNWwDhM Pros: - Great, cohesive artstyle - Interesting premise - Nice background music - Interesting synergies between robots, enhanced by choices of skills for each individual robot Cons: - Too much reliance on buffs/debuffs. It's not uncommon to have 10+ buffs/debuffs added to your characters, making it easy to lose sight of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, I got to the end. Somehow. From the top, Robothorium is a Strategy Game in a similar vein to something like Darkest Dungeon - you make a team of five Robots, go do the mission, go back to base, fix your dudes and tinker with the gear, repeat. A very simple Gameplay loop, but it works. ...Only, unlike Darkest Dungeon or similar games, I never really had any particular favourites. I think the reason for this was the big problem that stopped me from enjoying the game. Enemies. Are so.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A wonderful RPG dungeon crawler game! Robothorium is a story of a robot resistance against oppression from a tyrannical human government. You play as an artificial intelligence called S.A.I.A and you have a group of robots in your command. Over time you can recruit more to grow your force. The robots come in a variety of classes, some being more offensively-oriented, others more tank-like, and thirds acting as supports for the team. Your active party can have up to a total of 5 robots at a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very well done game. More JRPG than strategy, but it contains all the great elements of a solid game. Character customization, armor and weapons that actually appear on the characters and change the look, healthy skill trees, interesting and even philosophically challenging storyline that truly ponders the dystopian realities of the future, great music, a highly intuitive and informative menu and interface system, and lastly...it has never crashed on me even one time. This game was made with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I almost put the game down because of bugs, but decided to pick it back up and finish it. After completing the game, I still cannot recommend it. Lets get the good out of the way. Robothorium's combat system feels solid. It's a turn based combat system akin to Darkest Dungeon except slightly more complex. Each robot has 4 moves plus one "ultimate" they can use at a time. You can choose from a pool of 7 moves. You can customize this further by slotting talent points to improve certain…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man...I really wanted to like this game but it's just ultimately not fun. If you don't want specifics about why this game is bad then just know it has a lot of problems. There are only 2 real strengths that aren't riddled with caveats and that is the game seems to run fine (I personally encountered no bugs), and that the music is actually really good. In fact, I would say that if this game had a soundtrack to buy, I'd just buy and skip the game altogether. For those of you who want specifics:…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A review copy was provided by the developer. Game Summary: Based on the game's description, I was under the impression the story would be more straightforward. An us vs. them struggle, with you leading an open robot rebellion to squash humankind like a bug. However, the game is more nuanced than that, involving humans, cyborgs, and robots, along with five factions that have their own goals and ideologies at play. If you want to go the route like I first interpreted events, you certainly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Introduction Robothorium: Rogue-Like RPG is the latest title from Goblinz Studio, developers of Dungeon Rushers. Robothorium is set in 2052. Robots have been installed with artificial intelligence to allow them to better perform the jobs that humanity has given them. Not all is rosy for humanity or the robots, though, as that same artificial intelligence has allowed the robots to realise that their creators treat them like mindless slaves. Rising up against humanity, the robots now fight for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm going to split this short review into two parts, technical one and gameplay. Technically, I have nothing against the game. Serviceable graphics, UI, sounds. I can live with this kind of presentation and enjoy the game. The gameplay is another beast though. You are gonna spend most of your time in combat which follows the Final Fantasy principles. Group of your guys against group of their guys. Turn-based. Each robot has its stats, skills, levels up, unlocks new or improves current skills.…

Robothorium is a turn-based strategy game with robots. This game is currently in early access. It’s the year 2052, you are S.A.I.A. You are leading a group of robots against mankind. After mankind destroyed so many robots, civil rights are important for robots too! The game starts when you pick 3 robots. Your team will expand as you play.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have played up to the boss fight, and the game feels more tedious than fun now. Moving between rooms is slow. Fighting is slow, even at 3x speed. Keeping track of all the buffs, debuffs, tricks and special abilities is slow. If you're trying to optimize the equipment loadout for your robot, you have to hold down shift to compare them. The comparison should be on by default. Moving between the workshop and the robot you want to outfit is slow. Remembering the right level of gear and type…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a wonderful game! Robothorium is a visually appealing and delightful dungeon crawler, growing your team of mechs has never been more fun Normally I'd write up a list of pros and cons - but this game is in early access, so I feel it more appropriate to list *Elements I enjoy/ aspects I dislike* Love: * Distinct classes: Standard fare for the dungeon crawler/Rogue LITE category; very well thought out abilities * Intriguing factions system: Multiple factions with different agendas - you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an interesting display or a mixture between a dungeon crawler a management game and an RPG. The best part is that everything seems to be well thought and there are mostly no issues (the only real bugs I've found is one area displays a black screen during fights, if you go into the Redeem code screen you can't go out, and the arena you need to use the mouse even if you are playing with a controller). You choose who you ally with from 5 factions, you choose what kind of team you want to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring, repetitive, missions are simple and dull. Too bad, it has nice vibe, but nothing to offer.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Story - 4/10 Game play - 2/10 Design - 3/10 Customisation Options - 6/10 Value - 4/10 Average - 3.8/10 Game feels like who ever designed it didn't really care too much. Has typical features you would find in a turn based combat RPG but it doesn't feel like too much thought was put into it. Story is quite uninteresting to me. Art style also look a bit rushed and not well thought out - kind of reminds me of early 2000s flash animation games. Even though the game is priced modestly I wouldn't…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow, what a POS. Actually that's not fair, I was actually enjoying this game up til the final(?) Boss fight against BreakTech. Until then the fights were challenging, but reasonable. The skill building mechanic was a little off to me, you only get 20 levels, 19 points and most of those points are needed to unlock the upper tiers so that by the time you reach the final tier you only have about 3 pts to put into them. I think a few more levels would help, or lower requirements to unlock them.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Numerous UI and scripting issues. Attempting to enable the auto-sell common items feature will cause the game to hard-lock on entering new screens. It's possible to move between zones on a map and have all doors lock with no way out (opening a menu, which causes a reload of the room will fix it). Attempting multiplayer can trigger an error before a match that results in a completely unresponsive interface after the battle, leaving you forced to kill the game in task manager. Playing on…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a fairly unique game, and very fun. The story is pretty indepth. It does have a few bugs on occassion, that can usually be resolved by quitting the mission and restarting, and there is no penalty if you need to. The developers are very easy to talk to and have a discord channel for easy communication. If you like tactical games, this one is worth trying, as nearly any ombination of robots can work quite well depending on your playstyle and builds.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a retro style sci-fi RPG with turn based JRPG style combat. Control a team of robots and overthrow your human overlords. It's an okay-ish concept but the graphics are middle of the road. At least they're not retro pixel graphics, so that's a plus. On the downside, the game menu doesn't display properly on the latest builds of Windows 10, which renders the game unplayable. I'm unable to recommend anyone pays $15 USD for a 2D retro RPG that doesn't work properly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You are lost in a maze of small rooms, all alike and filled with foes that take forever to kill. You wonder if the gameplay gets better later on but the boredom is fatal.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a game that knows what would be cool in a game, and then can't execute on it. The inventory management system, black market and workshop are all great ideas. They're so terribly executed you'll spend more time fighting the UI than playing the game. There's no near enough filtering options or precision to this and what you get is having to sit and compare and re-compare and re-compare and look and look because items can fit multiple robots and look all the same and have completely…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice little old-school dungeoncrawler but in a very basic form. Skill mechanics offer a solid playground to get a team going, which can be further optimized with gear. (you get a party of 5 and there are 8 bot-classes to choose from) The missions themselves are rather bland and become repetitive fast. Story is there but ... yeah (the drawn art can be offsetting - combat aestethics are ok thou), it would offer even different story outcomes depending on which factions you support, sadly I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the first time I review a game without having finished it or at least got close to it. I've played this game for about 2 hours, and even though I'm usually quite patient, I'm 99% sure there's no point in going on. I consider Robothorium as a case study of what you want to avoid as a developer, in terms of UI, and more widely anything besides raw numbers and storytelling. First things first, everything is slow. Even when progressing through empty rooms, you have to wait several seconds…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Rating is hard to say - i enjoyed playing, but was still let down: The Bossfights are boring and the bosses attackpatterns are "very" predictable One boss was dead in 2 turns The final boss was just a checklist and extremely disappointing There was no buildup of tension and the ending was abrupd and completely not in line with what the game was up until that point I had more fun with the normal encounters - especially with elites those are not (as) predictable and can actually be a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Charming turn-based RPG with good music, acceptable graphics and some interesting combat. Comparing items is more difficult than it should be (hint: you can compare items) and the English is somewhat broken which doesn't help the story telling and makes it somewhat difficult to tell what exactly a skill is supposed to do. Combat is somewhat slow-paced and chaotic at times, there are a lot of things that stack and fire randomly, making it somewhat difficult to predict the flow of combat. You…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got it on sale, and I got my money's worth, but I wasn't able to finish it. Once you get your winning strategy, it becomes a rotation of skills to use, and really nothing else. Trying out the different robots and finding the strategy was fun, but after mid-game, the game felt like a bit of a chore. Would still recommend to pick up on a sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I will mention just one issue: Bad UI in crafting and buying and equiping things ... You do not know what classes are your robots and with which symbols they correspond, you do not know if the equipment you are supposed to buy can be equiped (you might not have the rebot for it) and you do not know when you buy it, if it is better than the equipment you already have !!! So, I have to remember all the stats for 6 items for at least 5 robots ? Really ? I wish I could refund.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buggy game with a really bad UI. There is a Blackmarket, but the UI is so bad you can't choose which items you are selling (it takes random items out of your inventory), and you can't see what items are for sale, or how much they cost. Again, you have to buy to find out what it is. Very poorly implemented game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is "xcom and binding of isac had a baby"~ Pros: +loot system +skill upgrade mechanic + room exploration + 75% chance to succeed? Fails 4 times in a row. Its xcom all over again :P Cons: - Game punishes player for levelling as the enemy seem to scale better on normal difficulty. - Mission select has not procedural missions to select - Steep learning curve on good team comps - Gear typically sux and very poorly managed. Maybe playing it longer would have added more layers, but I just couldn't get into it. Why I Stopped Playing Grew bored and moved on. Disclaimer I have been a gamer for over 30 years. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Keep in mind party based, turn based combat rpg games are definitely my kind of games. Still, at least some depth and amount of choice is needed to keep my interest. But if this genre doesn't appeal to you, this wont be the game to change your mind. I enjoyed it, albeit being rather short for it's genre. Though had it been longer it might had outstayed it's welcome. The story and setting were interesting, but underdeveloped. Also there was not a single a piece of lore or information in the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So to start the story was ok and could have be better to be honest, the dialogue was riddled with grammar errors and misspells from mid game to end. Levels designs were ok and could have been better especially on boss fight missions. Game-play was very good and very in-depth unfortunately it was constantly interrupted by dialogue from the story. The Dev's have told me they are still working on it and I believe in a few more months this can be a very good game; that's the short summary. So lets…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →turn-based sci-fi dungeon crawlers are pretty rare but this isn't worth bothering with. making it a roguelike didn't help, endless repetition and tedium in largely the same dungeons, dull as ♥♥♥♥. level-scaling is another issue, even if it's only partial (initially it was full-on but got changed after some backlash). main missions have a fixed level, side quests match yours, and if you reach max level, everything scales to that. no manual saving but quitting mid-mission saves progress, so…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is super fun once you understand buffs and debuffs however it's SLOW. Thankfully this is easily fixed with Cheatengine and using speedhack x2. Once that is on, the game is so much more fun. I have all my heroes with with full sets now and completed just about everything possible. I know we will never get a Robothorium 2 but if we do , sign me up!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's serviceable enough, unfortunately though it's not very gripping, it's not really interesting and it's not very good. I might give it a try again if i find myself with nothing left to play. Give it a shot on a deep discount, otherwise there are plenty of games that do 'this' better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Goblinz Studio hits the nail again! Second crawler with a few changes to each of the game layers (exploration/combat/management/mission hub/crafting) and a different art direction make the experience fresh again. Turn-based combat is well paced and clear. Units are numerous enough and each class can be build and geared in different ways. The "dungeons" are a bit too similar imho but that's not a major issue unless you plan to play 30+ hours. Cocorico! Bravo les gars!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Robothorium is still very much in Early Access despite having the Early Access label lifted. I can't recommend this game in good conscience - there are far too many bugs and balance issues. Some of the balance issues are SO bad, that I actually wonder if the devs have played through their own game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun until you hit a story boss that can only be beat with one strategy. I don't really have the robots/parts/talent points for that strategy, and don't really want to grind or restart my way to having them.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very first impressions review. I just completed the first/tutorial mission. Firstly, I was a bit surprised that the trailer has voice-over for the opening cutscene, but the game does not, despite it being the exact same cutscene. Not a plus or minus- just struck me as odd. Right off the bat you are asked to pick 3 out of 6 different classes, with no concrete description of what they do or their play style. There are different traits assigned to them- "attack," "defense," "support,"…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Robothorium is a solid robot-ish rogue like with a nice mood and tight mechanics. It's a nice improvement from the game dungeon rushers, the previous one from Goblinz. It's interesting to see the story being so tightly wrapped to the mechanics, I think it's going into a nice direction. Also, I'm really glad they're providing community tools such as level editors & all because it brings me back to the cool creation mindset I was with Warcraft 3 or Trackmania.

unlabelledView post →Pros: A good game for the price. Nice visuals and design of characters. Strategy and moves not too hard to figure out. Halt is easily the best character and star of the game. Cons: The ending is lackluster with a healing boss that simply will not die. Story missions are shorter than I anticipated. Whatever side one takes it leaves no impact on the world. The ending is the same no matter who one sides with. Benefits of factions takes too long to earn. Level cap leaves no room to max out…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was having a decent time with this game, probably going to give it a soft recommend...and then I beat the last boss... Except I didn't. It bugged out, leaving the battle running with no targets to hit after I killed the last floating head thing, and I couldn't do anything. When I looked it up it's apparently been a thing for awhile. This game has been out for almost a year and a half. To still have the LAST BATTLE OF THE GAME bugged is unacceptable and shows a lack of respect the devs have…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is absolute ARSE. 1) It looks and feels like a mobile game. There is no flavor to the atmosphere. Every room is a bland, cookie cutter repeat of the other rooms. 2) The combat is boring and unengaging. 3) The percentage roll system is completely rigged. I am always weary about playing games with these type of "success chance" roll systems, because very few game developers take the time to incorporate an algorithm that honestly simulates the probabilities (which is technically…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A little gem if you like turn based and robots. Found the story a little confusing between the factions. Need to see more of the game but the start is really good !!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Didn't work for me. Maybe the combat gets less repetitive in a few more hours? That seems to be most of what you do in this game. The "exploration" portion consists of moving through square rooms that may have stuff in them. You can interact with the stuff to get a buff or debuff for the next combat, though in some cases the effect seems to be random. Sometimes there's a choice to make with a percent chance of success. Others have commented on the loot system, where you get a big pile of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don’t write many reviews or make many recommendations on games. But something needs to be said about Robothorium: Sci-fi Dungeon Crawler. And I want to say it loud and clear. There should be no reservations or uncertainty. I DO RECOMMEND Robothorium: Sci-fi Dungeon Crawler. Apparently I only have five hours of gameplay. That was quite enough since I have made up my mind in the first hour whether I will recommend this game or not. Robothorium: Sci-fi Dungeon Crawler is, simply put, a joy to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice Indie JRPG, recommended, if you like these games. 8 classes, each with quite a few skills. There are some similarities with other games in genre (e.g. shields/structure seems to be inspired by Deep Sky Derelicts), but stands well on its own - it has quite a few some original ideas. I found overload to be quite refreshing concept. Dungeons are simple and small; do not expect massive exploration. Exploration is quite random (but randomness never ruined the game). Game is focused on combat…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's pretty good. It can get a bit monotonous, but there's fun customization for the robots, and they all have different strengths which allows you to change your playstyle between missions. It's easy to get wrapped up in, if you're the type. I spent a few hours noodling around on missions before the plot hunted me down and demanded I continue it. As of this writing there are a few gamebreaking bugs present, which can cause the game to randomly hang on a screen or in the middle of a battle,…
