60 of 184 · most liked firstI was prepared to give this a good review as i like the gameplay. However, twice now, i have progressed close to getting to the naxt level only for the games to end just before getting enough points to progress to the next level saying "sorry the competiton was too tough ". on both occasions i was ranked 1 with over £100,000,000.00 in the bank. if the games ends prematurely like this, i cant give it a good rating as it seems impossible to progress
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was a bit dubious of SeaOrama given all the negative reviews but, I gave it a shot anyway and I have to say that I am more than pleasantly surprised. This is one of those games for me where I just lose track of time and before I know it it's 1 in the morning. I just love the logistics management aspects, the progression system, the ability to grow your company and make critical choices about how to grow it based on the economy and other variable etc. Personally can't get enough of this game;…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really want to like this game. I gave it a shot despite the somewhat doubtful reviews. Sadly, this game needs some fixes URGENTLY. Events are waaay too many, electrical issues, engine issues, crew issues, its like I own a ship that is 40 years old barely staying afloat with a bunch of drunken sailors. Does not matter that my ship is more or less in mint condition or that I set the crew budget through the roof. And game breaking bugs keeps happening. First game my ship got stuck in a storm…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think they must have put their UX team on redundancy notice! I found this to be one of the most clumsy, i'll put together games i have played since 1989. The concept is a reasonable one the execution is gutter-awful. Really guys, go back to the drawing board on this one, you got it wrong. It doesn't need tweaking it needs a whole re-think!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay, I'm having fun and naysayers be damned, this game is promising. In terms of potential it has miles on Transocean, and it's already a better game than their abysmal sequel. Currently it has bugs galore, the UI isn't even remotely optimized, it's lacking support for some resolutions and there's tonnes of optimizations needed. All that said, I cannot help but feel that this game will get to a very good state if it's not just hounded by early reviewers turning its thumbs down. Here's my…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nothing spectacular about this game just brain power. I was pleasantly surprised that my83yr old brain could manage to keep up until I had several ships then all hell broke loose but I endured and lived another day(YIPPEE Might see the new year in after all). I know I am not playing the game to it's full potential so you young gamers should enjoy the game. But, remember there is no pirates or baddies so if you are in to that then leave this game alone, you need the use of that big blob in the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is no game here. You get so much money without doing anything else than just picking up loads. Lengthy process to get a contract, assign it to ship and off you go. Too many clicks for simple task, too little else to do. You start with Panamax ship, as you do. Not with empty pockets and rusty feeder class ship to work your way up. No, you start from 47.000 tonne class directly. Staff management isn't a management, you just choose member of staff to each ship and remember to set contract…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An OK time-passer global shipping simulation. This a logistics game, no actual ship navigation or controls are involved. Buying ships and acquiring contracts to move cargo from Port A to Port B is pretty much all there is to it, and most of the game occurs on a simple map of the world. Every contract has a value and a "deliver by" date. Multiple contracts can be combined into one journey, the ship's speed can be changed (at the cost of fuel efficiency and eco-rating) to meet contract deadlines,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seaorama is not a terrible game. It certainly gets the Ports of Call vibe right - and once upon a time, that was good enough for a classic. Also, the asking price is inexpensive. The gameplay wrangles with four problems though, the most important of which is that there is nothing original in it. No slick function, no spiffy idea, no surprise whatsoever. You buy a ship, you send a ship, and sometimes it rains. Probably the most annoying malfunction is the determination of freight in any given…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game and ACTIVE DEVS! Most negative reviews I see are post 2.0. so here is some info. 2.0 update was a complete game engine update to UE5! Many other games have been riddled with bugs after updating to EU5, the good devs fix them pretty quickly. This dev team is fixing them quickly. Pre-2.0 there had VERY few bugs from release to 2.0 and they have been activley and quickly fixing them since. There is not a ton of bugs either. I've seen many more bugs from other games in pure numbers…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is okay for $10, not whatever the non-on-sale price is. The UI is bad. There is a map UI and multiple menu UIs, when you use one it effects the others... The game has features that mean nothing. You can buy a ship and customize the colors but you never ever again see the ships and whatever colors you chose dont reflect on the map. But if I had to say what the worst part of this game is, it is undoubtedly auctions. They built in an auction system where you can buy used boats for way…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice concept, but it's an unfinished buggy mess.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another Mobile Game on PC I played SeaOrama on hard mode, and while the initial challenge was engaging, the game quickly lost its appeal. Here’s a breakdown of my experience: Early Gameplay Challenge: For the first six hours, I struggled to keep my finances afloat and pay off my first ship. The challenge during this phase was quite engaging and required strategic planning. Rapid Progression: However, once I managed to pay off the first ship, the game’s difficulty curve plummeted. It took…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good game. Reimagined version of the Amiga classic Ports of Call.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A major disappointment. Less gameplay than Ocean Trader from 1995, which this "game" is an obvious clone of. Visible lag. UI issues. Etc.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very immersive and addictive simulation. The tutorial is quite comprehensive, and initially the learning curve a bit challenging. It is obvious that the developers are constantly working on improvements and addressing any remaining bugs, as they update quite frequently and promptly respond to user requests. All in all, highly recommended for those wanting a challenging yet satisfying economic simulation. Running version 1.09.4 This game is really addictive. The latest version…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game. It lacks variety in vessel types, in comparison to it's competitors you have a good few options with bulkers, tankers, LNG tankers and container vessels. I am missing MPP, heavy lift and cruise ships, maybe a few others like offshore and jack-up. A few additional sizes/classes would be great as well. More useful opportunities to actually see your ships would be cool too. I really like the options to hire crew a few agents and operators but even more positions would be great…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've enjoyed it. I decided to start my first game on Hard, I figured I didn't want to be given a free ship, I wanted to earn it. The 5 AI opponents appear to have only one ship each, though I'm up to four. I'm sure there's some work to do on the game. The captain of my tanker ship will regale you with a tale: We made port in Busan, South Korea, found a contract to Houston for 23,000 tons and loaded up. "Not enough!" I said, since the ship can carry 120,000 tons. Brilliantly, instead of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3/10 This is an okay game for people who like this genre. There isn’t much depth to the game and the difficulty doesn’t really command much attention. Pretty mindless chill time killer. You tell a ship to pick up a load and drop it off elsewhere, and repeat. It can be pretty fun to upgrade your fleet and see how many different contracts you can organize each trip and play with the logistics like that. The way the buying/selling ships mechanic is set up is pretty cool. But the game gets old…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reviews are a little harsh, i knew what to expect buying this, and it doesn't disappoint. Fun economy game that has that "Ports of Call" feeling. Satisfying to play, and very relaxing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite the mixed reviews I gave it a go. Am I disappointed that I spent money on it? Not really, it's alright to pass some time. The game is quite simple to play and does become rather monotonous quickly, not quite in depth enough to spend hours playing it. I personally think it needed a more in depth contract system so you can negotiate prices rather than having to accept what they are offering and also possibly the option to setup ships on a constant shipping lane rather than having to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So many issues and not worth your time or money.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For any old-timers who remember Ports of Call for the Amiga, this is an updated version, with much the same feel to it! Definitely NOT an adrenaline rush of a game, just a nice, cerebral one to relax with.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ports of Call Classic modernized!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game has issues condition issues- if you allow your engine to get to 0% you will not be able to leave port, or fix at the port if you have a job/cargo onboard, locking the ship, unable to remove the jobs/cargo to fix the ship at the port or even sell the ship. forcing a restart Selling issues, when you buy a ship with a loan and attempt to sell it you are unable to even if the loan has been paid off, it should allow you to sell the ship once the loan has been repaid, it will not and any ship…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is a basic version of Transocean. With multiple features into different aspects (crew, managers, advisors and some more) , some of them giving you an option to avoid the micromanaging grind of the lategame in those. No Docking-piloting, was no fan of that anyway. You can also Buy shares of Ports for some bonuses (cost-reduction, (minimal profit-shareing?)) and can unlock bonuses if you deliver enough conracts to it (though the number is way to high [100 of each type, you will have 100+…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a rather zen shipping game. It's got a bunch of features, but most of the time you'll be watching & waiting for your ship to move to its next port. The tutorial is thorough, but not too verbose. Once you're through, you've seen many useful aspects of the game. I started my single player game on hard mode vs 10 AI opponents. Got shipping with my starter ship, and then shipped some more. Over time I replaced cheap labour with folks who had good potential to level up. I kept adding new…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have played the heck out of this game, well 50 hours worth, and did it all. Beat all the difficulty levels and at the moment of writing this was number 4 on the monthly list that is about to end in 3 days so I got my monies worth and I did enjoy most of it. It was about the 30 hour mark I started to get a bit bored but then decided go after the monthly competition. One of the ways I rate a game is considering my entertainment value and for every dollar I spend on a game I expect to get 1 hour…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PortsOfCall with graphics, some new ideas, and without the annoying ship steering minigame.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First impression is actually excellent, not sure about the bugs yet, or why was so many people complaining. For me this is what I waited for quite long and it works perfectly so far. After some more time played I can comfortably say this is the best ship cargo game I have played. I am proud owner of TransOcean series and this game looks a bit like TransOcean 5.0 with some advanced mechanisms and really good design decisions overall. The game is very very enjoyable. I dont miss the ship…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alright listen, people are going to hate on games after they release because of bugs. I get it. I played for almost 5 hours and encountered 1 bug. If you take the game at face value for what it is, it is fun! It's been engaging my brain on best contract to take, ship to get, following the market, etc. It is an easy game to "win". But that is a tertiary goal for me. If you play to manage a shipping company it's a chill fun game. I am looking forward to playing it more. The dev has been paying…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looks like this game has many problems, first of all, cant even get it started. The main page just crashes, although I tryed all the troubleshooting options. So I hope theres a fix for it near future for players, who are using Steam.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[Prime] SeaOrama: World of Shipping. Indie shipping simulator for Windows, free for Amazon Prime subscribers until 17th January
unlabelledView post →Pretty chill game... trainspotting for cargo ships. Played for maybe 20 hours. There were a couple times the UI got janky and seemed like it was going to fall over. I just paused, saved and restarted. All good. My only complaint would be when a new ship comes up for auction or sale, would be good to see a pop-up notification.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought this game was in early access the entire time that I played it. There are bugs. There's even a report bug button on the UI of this "fully released" game (anyone else find that strange?). I am in a mid to late stage game and most of my Operations are done automatically.. I'm experiencing a bug that involves a relatively new ship under player control. The bug is impacting my ability to control the ship's speed. I usually adjust the ship's speed during the voyage from the manage…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed this game, and after the learning curve, i found myself craving more. When the ships are fully upgraded, the incidents become pretty immaterial. i've yet to find a way to maximize crew moral, and even when all the crew costs are maxed out, you will still get alerts like food poisoning? 13 year chef, 4000 a month budget, and food poisoning lol. i recently got pirated, and i wish you could negotiate with the pirates directly. make an offer to free the crew and the like until you reach…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unbalanced. The AI reminds me of the old rubber banding effect in Super Mario Kart. There's basically 4 types of ships with 3 different sizes, so that gets old real quick. The game's economy also does not make a whole lot of sense. It does not hold a candle to Transport Fever.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a ship's officer in real life and this game is just a bad joke. The user interface is AWFUL, the art style is bland and uninspired, the game is just bad. Don't waste your money, I've never refunded a game faster.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As someone working in the maritime industry, I really appreciate the level of thought that’s gone into SeaOrama. It’s obviously designed by people who understand how shipping actually works, not just the surface-level idea of moving ships from A to B. The fleet management, route planning, and cargo decisions feel logical and structured in a way that reflects real commercial pressures. It captures the balance between operational planning and commercial performance well, without turning it into a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Being a fan of light-hearted management games, i'm disappointed by SeaOrama. Maybe there are big changes ahead still, but right now it's even more boring than Transocean 1&2, which are at least boring in a relaxing way. In SeaOrama you'll spend hours staring at your ships crouching across a worldmap, or click through nicely coloured spreadsheets of business opportunities. Verdict: 1 of 4 mackarels available.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I first bought the game it was OK, but the developer keeps screwing with it and it went from good to bad to crap. I stopped playing at the end of 2024, but I saw that update 2.2 had come out so I gave it another try. But now its just absolutely garbage. Don't buy it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So, decided to take the leap and if I am honest, its not much different from Trans Ocean. I haven't experienced and bug issues but I do think it lacks depth. Lots of similarities with Trans Oceans and think it could be so much better, for example, the graphics could be better, the game play could be so much better as well. If you have time to spare and just want to pass the time away, then sure this is the game for you but for the serious gamer, give it a miss.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been enjoying the game and the team is actively updating and improving the game. I look forward to see what will come.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →stumbled across this game on the steam store and bought it to see what it was abt. ZERO regrets. Even starting off the game loads really quickly and goes straight into it, and the cargos are pretty realistic as well as the small details in the back like the cars and other containers. quality is rlly nice and smooth and gameplay is immersive and fun. Only played so far for around 20 minutes becuz i have to go soon but def will play more when i get back. 10/10 game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This will be my 3rd or 4th ever 'review'. Unlike my previous ones, this one will actually be rather short. To sum it up from the get-go, dont buy this game, not even on sale. I dont think these devs knows what they're doing. It really comes off as 2 highschoolers got together a long weekend and made this 'game'. Not long after the game released as 1.0, there were tons of bugs and whatnot. They patch pretty quick though so kudos to them for that. But within just a couple of months or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i had such hopes for this game regardless of what the negative reviews said. but well, i was wrong, it was incredibly boring and way too easy. lack of content, and i would love if it were a little bit more like Ocean Trader or Ports of call back in the days.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I haven't played very long, but noticed issues with UI and other QoL things that would make decision making and just playing in general better that made this game frustrating to play and honestly made me not want to stick it out in light of the other reviews. I hope there's going to be fixes/improvements on this; I'm willing to wait. Until then, I cannot recommend this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not working for me. After starting the game is frozen at start screen and stays that way. Tried it on 2 different systems, but it's the same. Maybe they fix it somehow, but a game you buy should actually work, without that the buyer has to search for a solution.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game has potential. I do agree it is way to easy to win the AI campaign. I even tried going for the max amount of other companies and the highest number of points. Within the first 9 months I only had 2 ships and was so far ahead of the person behind me in points, there was no point in continuing. At this point I don't see me coming back to it unless they add a lot more challenge to it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No No NO. looks ok, tried to get into it. A long unbelievably slow grind assigning work and no matter how careful you are you keep loosing money. You start with quite a lot which is good but the finance system in the game is way off. Staff get miserable and ships don't run with low staff morale, so again just loose money. Couldn't keep it going even after selling everything I built up.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →UI/UX just completely terrible.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Get's boring Very quickly, they could have done more.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →just a re-skin of the old shipping manager games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Update for V2.0: Still can't recommend! The game got better, but there are still significant issues, after months of waiting for 2.0 to come out. It very much feels like the developers have never once actually played the game. Features were added that don't add anything to the game experience. Overall its really disappointed to have waited this long for 2.0 and still not find the game particularly enjoyable. - The UI still is a clunky mess; nothing is straightforward, buttons/tooltips don't…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seorama is a classic example of a passionate, dedicated and skilled games developer who has limited skill or understanding of UI design and implementation. As such, there IS a lot to like within the game, but man oh man, you are going to have to figure out what's what all by yourself. (Review still in development)... POSITIVES o Includes many desired real world simulated features (Weather, Unions, Economic price inflation etc..). o Scaled the entire world (Although the speed the game runs at…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've had this game for about two weeks and I love the learning and depth it brings to the ocean trade simulation space. Definitely would recommend to all sim, logistic, management or strategy lovers. I'm probably addicted at this point and have been having a blast. Exciting that I haven't even yet gotten to port investments and charters.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →~~Making chains of contracts is buggy and does not work as expected.~~ Dev DM in record time to try and figure this out? Absolutely worth a change in recommendation.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty basic. AI companies are weak. Given enough time every human player can outplay the AI. Gets boring fast
