Slow and totally uninspired. for a game that obviously takes huge influence from classics like Golden axe it manages to miss the point on every level. i found it a chore literally just finishing the first level. looks good but character animations are slow and clumsy like a Nickelodeon cartoon. repetitive enemies and sounds. i wont be palying this again.

Not the worst beat'em'up I have ever played. Feels like an android port gone wrong. I just do not find this game fun at all and I love arcade style games. If you can get it in a bundle or for less than $2, maybe then buy it, otherwise its just not worth it to me. I do like the art style and paralax scrolling, it may not be polished, but the thing that kills it for me is the clunky gameplay. Very rarely do I not like button mashing, but this one just falls on its face.

Doesn't support resolutions above 1600x900. I don't know how this is overlooked, but this is pathetic for a game that was released in 2013.

This game is okay, but only, okay. It didn't cost very much and I still feel like I didn't exactly get my money's worth. The persepctive dimensions are unclear. Half the time your toon is not on the spot you think he is. Am I hitting this guy or not? Am I picking up this health ham or not? Who knows? Just roll the dice and take your chances...these are not the signs of a good design. The controls aren't great. The feel of combat...not really there. I feel like I'm wacking paper with a ruler…

𝔸 𝕊𝕒𝕔𝕣𝕖𝕕 𝕓𝕖𝕒𝕥 '𝕖𝕞 𝕦𝕡? ℍ𝕞𝕞𝕞... (𝕧𝕖𝕣𝕪 𝕊𝕌𝕊) Sacred Citadel is a colorful, side-scrolling beat ’em up set in the Sacred universe; a franchise that's known more for its groundbreaking RPG games that shook the world at some point in the past. Does Sacred work well as a beat 'em up? Let's find out! At its core, Sacred Citadel is straightforward: pick a class, smack hordes of monsters, collect loot, and unleash flashy combos. It’s simple, sometimes too simple, but…

Sacred Citadel is a ok game but it's a rather boring beat'm up. one of the issues is you can out level content if you grind and you will also need to grind to beat the final boss as he is way to strong when you get there. this is one of the issues with leveling in games like this without some kind of balance, content is level 1-10 with a max player character level of 99 and the boss is set to level 120. there also seem to be random glitches. the game has 4 playable characters with 4 acts with…

The controls are unreliable, the combat is slow and grindy, the combo system is lame, the enemies are too simmilar and reused too much, and the art is just so-so. The game is just a chore to play. There are a few neat concepts, but the execution is just terrible.

If you are searching for a fun and non-ripetitive game, this isn't for you. The game starts off very well, 4 heroes , a linear story, and a nice view. After the first level, you're going to see the same enemies again, again, again,agAIN AND AGAIN. The enemy are stupid, they stand still ,they have too much health, you don't do damage, the special abilities are (almost) worthless, if you are playing co-op the game glitches itself and you can not continue, unless your friend plays that level…

The game that starts off kinds fun....but then slowly drains your soul. You will just slowly stare at screen, painfully, until the game emotionally waterboards you level by level. This game is a disaster wrapped in confusion. Half the time you can’t tell where enemies actually ARE. So what happens? You start panic-mashing buttons like a caffeine-addicted cave goblin because the enemy positioning makes less sense than microwave instructions written by philosophers. The enemy standing in the…

This is an extremely boring and cookie cutter fantasy themed beat'em up. It's like if you took D&D's Tower of Doom and Shadow over Mystara (or almost any 90s beat'em up arcade game) and removed all of the fun, flavor, spells, and engaging game mechanics. The gameplay is technically solid, but it's just disappointing and boring.

Sacred Citadel is a 2D style beat'em-up with light RPG mechanics. Each of the 4 characters have their own triats and attacks that can be used to take down enemies with, furthermore, each of them can benefit from certain stats that can be increased when you level up. For example, the Safiri benefits from increasing their strength stat, whereas the Ranger can benefit from the Dextirity stat. The game isn't too long and is quite fun played co-op. The DLC adds a new chapter to play through that…

Cant recommend this one. Game overall is just plain boring even co-op couldnt make this game any fun for me. The fighting system is boring and dull, there arent many combos and and it usually commes down to hit them as often as you can with normal attacks then make one heavy to knock them down and just keep on doing this while hoarding the enemies in one side. Only problem are big ones you cant knock down , but a potion or ultimate abillity does the trick. The game is only difficult because…

informational review it works on Linux with Proton, acceptable performance, no technical issues. controller works and controls feel OK. besides that, it's a bit boring brawler with unappealing visual style. has humor but that's the only good thing about the game itself. I'm not a big fan of brawlers, I've got it from Sacred bundle and would consider it as bonus content (forgettable but can be enjoyable for few hours) won't recommend to buy this game separately, it's average.

The game is the epitome of a cashgrab. Its short, its boring, its overpriced and it has nothing to do with the game it shares a title with. I played it for barely 3h and finished all 5 acts. The game is just not very exciting. Combat is pretty boring, and all characters play more or less the same, despite being different classes. Leveling up and gaining new abilities is nice in theory, but you don't choose what you get, you simply get a few standard Beat'em Up moves as you gain new level, so there isn't anything worth looking forward to. There was a lot of potential in the game, but it feels wasted. Sacred Citadel is at best a passable Beat'em Up... If that's all you're looking…

Combat is fluid, you earn experience, gain levels to increase stats and gain new combo attacks or special attacks. A terrible piece of software. A game released in 2013, but doesn't even have a 1920x1080 resolution in-game. You have to edit some .ini files to get it. It's a super buggy game. Coop Review This game is a blast to play with a friend online. My Friend is on a Verizon hotspot (CA) and I was the host (IL) and we did not have any issues at all. No grame crashes as well. Combat starts off slow and builds up as you unlock moves. The mobs do take a bit to kill, you do get a combo number that builds which is fun to watch get to X99. When this game is on sale for $5 and you have a friend or 2 that you can play with, buy it!

I had come back to this game after years of having played it. Apparently I didn't finish it before, and honestly, I didn't remember anything of it. That say a lot of hop much of an impression it made on me, for good or bad. In general, it has nothing new to offer, and it starts VERY basic, almost to the point to think it doesn't worth the time and abandoning it (like I did on the first round coming back to it). The violation of the Sacred Temple Continues Ah... there's a lot to debate on with the Sacred Series, both the good side and the bad, but, hey! Let's be honest, Sacred is one of the best Fantasy RPGs ever made, accompanied by Diablo 1&2. Huge potential, fun to play, kinda silly, but even now it is a decent game to come back to and play. Well, forget about all of this, let's talk about Sacred Citadel - a very mediocre action kind of a platformer beat'em up game with a very overextended story…

Good potential wasted. The music is terrible. The voice acting is bizarre. The plot and dialogue, admittedly hardly needing to be Shakespearean in a beat em up, are lacking. It's almost hard to imagine anybody involved had any investment in the project working out. You could ignore those facts if the mechanics of the game were satisfying, you could... Unfortunately the cardinal sin of this game is that the enemies take ridiculous amounts of damage to defeat, I imagine this is to draw out the…

I won't lie, this game is pretty good! The only problem is that it carries the name of a famous franchise that is Sacred. As what happened with Sacred 3, players were expecting something good, but in the same genre of it's predecessors. Sacred 3 failed to deliver the same experience we had before, and that's why it faded to dust. But Sacred Citadel is good in every aspect (gameplay, controls, sound and graphics), just not good enough to be a Sacred game. For a platform/beat'em-up based on a…

This game is fun in a shallow kind of way. It's basically just a button masher with RPG elements. Compared to the other games in the "Sacred" series it's a lot more simplistic since you move from linear area to linear area killing enemies and picking up weapons. The game can be completed in under five hours and all of the characters play pretty similarly. The only one that really requires an adjustment to play style is the mage. Sacred Citadel is a Golden Axe style 2D/"3D" scrolling arcade beatemup with multiplayer story modes, which should be somewhat viable. Graphics and controls are fine, but bewilderingly, despite the 2013 release date, there's no support for the most basic 1080p resolution, let alone 4K or even proper widescreen scaling. It's a good 2d combo game and you often try to steal each other's items with your friend. From what little I've played this game, it seems to have promise. The classes were pretty cool, especially the mage and shaman, and the graphics were nice. What stopped me playing though was the lack of controller support. Either there is none, or it's simply not recognizing my X-Box One controller. Sacred Citadel, developed by Southend Interactive and published by THQ Nordic, is a curious offshoot of the Sacred series that trades the sprawling, loot-driven action RPG structure for a far more contained side-scrolling brawler format. Set in the familiar world of Ancaria, the game attempts to ground its story within the larger Sacred lore by presenting a conflict against the Ashen Empire, but the narrative mostly functions as a backdrop rather than a driving force. The real focus here is on…
