positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →art, writing, voice acting, cinematics, all are terrible. feels like the previous team left the building, since it's ugly in everything and not funny at all. old mechanics are still there but playing it is boring and sometimes painful. huge disappointment. buy the first or second games instead of this one.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too Many Games 2026 haul (not pictured: a Steam game I won called Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break and some random stickers)
unlabelledView post →As usual the most difficult games to review are the ones that come close but then, well, kinda roll off the edge when they really shouldn't. Such is the case for Rock of Ages 3, the third in a series of comical, almost Terry Gilliam-esque historical satires with mildly surrealist comedy themes wrapped around, well, a basic rolling ball physics game. As always the concept of the game is simple. Roll a big boulder (or ball of sheep, or whatever comedy spin each level gives you) down the path,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Coming from ROA1&2, ROA3 is a significant step down. Biggest pet peeve of mine is the extremely unbalanced war levels in the campaign, as while you have little troops to spread around the map, the A.I has way more gold and covers the whole damn map with troops. Another result of that troop spam is FPS drops.... I have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ beefy ass modern pc build and this game still chugs like ass sometimes. Honestly picked this up for like 3 bucks just to say i've played and 100%ed it , but if you're…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This aint it chief. The singleplayer is really bad compared to ROA1 & ROA2.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would suggest Rock of Ages 1 and 2 instead
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rock of Ages 3 had a golden opportunity to build on the strengths of its predecessor, but instead, it crashes and burns—hard. The gameplay is just painfully repetitive, almost as if the developers hit copy-paste on old ideas without ever stopping to think, ''Hey, could this actually be fun for more than 10 minutes?'' Spoiler alert: it’s not And somehow, they decided to bring back the clunky controls from the first game—like, seriously, why? After the second game made things smoother, this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sadly this game is worse than its predecessors. I literally just wanted to play through the levels in War mode locally with my wife, without AI players. But it doesn't seem this is possible? Firstly, most aspects of the game must be unlocked through the campaign - with some difficult levels that force you to do solely defence, etc. And then it doesn't seem possible to play War mode with just 2 players without AI members also on the team? It's like it is 4-players only. Finally, it's almost…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break is a wonderfully bizarre and inventive title that fuses tower defense, physics-based racing, and surreal humor into a game that’s as chaotic as it is creative. Developed by ACE Team and Giant Monkey Robot, and published by Maximum Entertainment and 3goo, the game builds on the solid foundation of its predecessors while introducing a significant new feature: a full-fledged level editor. This addition, along with a sprawling campaign and several unique game modes,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're looking for a Rock of Ages game, I'd definitely recommend Rock of Ages 2 over this one. It has been a long time since I've played this, but I remember it seeming like a less complete package than the second game. Way way less polish, much worse story / humor. It kind of seemed like a half-baked cash grab. If you're simply looking for more Rock of Ages, maybe pick this up. But wait for a sale, good god.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While this game is not bad, it feels like a watered down Rock of Ages 2, the maps feels pretty small compared to the previous game, the difficulty is unbalanced (krampus is the elephant in the room for this point), the races are (I won't suggarcoat it) ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, you either eat ♥♥♥♥ until you beat them, or you skip the whole map flying with a balloon rock (Which is a monumental design flaw). Most rocks of this game a recycled from the first 2 games (also there are weird things with the rocks…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know. After 2 Rock of Ages, I think the ball's lost momentum. This one adds multiplayer, track creation, etc. But the campaign just feels like busy work. The tower defense portion of it was never entertaining to me, and somehow it's even more finnicky here, trying to pick up all the little gold drops. The rock part is still cool, and there's now a mode that let's you "race" against other rocks, but of course you have to unlock each level, and there's tons of them, going up to 100…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Who da ♥♥♥♥ thought it is a good idea to put the "restart level" button as the first button in the pause menu, where all normal games have "return to game" button
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The good: Soundtrack is definitely the best in the series, better integration of game modes, the "make", overall feels much like the second part. The bad: due to map creation and customisation (the "make") all maps now lack their unique environment around the map which previous titles had, such as terrain or cliffs or ships (such as in oslo, pompei or lviv), also no sisyphus The ugly: Elpinor

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I mean It's Rock of Ages what else would you expect?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Everything about this game is jank. The game was release in 2020, & they stopped patching it in 2020. This is a buggy, broken, half-assed mess.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game that doesn't take itself seriously and excels at it. It also has a fun Multiplayer and a good map building mode.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun and unique, but with many stupid, avoidable bugs. The bugs that annoyed me the most: -Sometimes you get completely stuck in the environment. -Certain boulders cannot jump from the clouds. -When the Wheel of Pain is being biuld, the enemy cant destroy it. -In the Pacific Ocean level, when you have to enter Moby ♥♥♥♥'s mouth, if you go deep enough inside and fall off after the swallowing sound plays, the music stops, you spawn on the platform, and Moby ♥♥♥♥ disappears. I had to redo…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What the hell is this part even supposed to be? I really liked Rock of Ages 1 and 2, but this one is complete garbage. The optimization is terrible, and about 70% of the maps are boring as hell. The only thing I liked was the new weapons. I still got all the achievements, but the game is trash tho.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rock of Ages 3 is a fun mix of tower defense and chaotic boulder racing. The gameplay is entertaining, especially with friends. The level editor adds some replay value, even if the campaign can feel repetitive after a while. Overall, it's a solid sequel and worth playing if you enjoyed the previous games. Clean 120FPS on 4K Maxed Out
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Take RoA:2 make it worse, how did they even achieve this? Unpolished garbage, 2 felt definitively better. Mechanics are quite same but everything else feels like slop.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →you can be a cheese :cheesewheel: 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easily the best in the series, best game modes, best campaign, honestly the only one worth playing. But stupidly infuriating that there's no manual reset. Four times in a row I've gotten stuck in an unrecoverable position on the last run of a War level and been forced to restart because this game can't recognize when a player is stuck and provides them no tools to resolve the situation
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this game a month ago, just finished story mode. This game was obviously rushed, you can tell simply by just looking at it. RoA2 is a better choice in my opinion, the best in the series. I'm not saying it's all bad though; this game is definitely enjoyable, and is a good purchase if you're looking for more. Though, it feels as-if it was a rushed expansion update for RoA2, with reused models and textures, including the achievements. In short, the game really is just: - a few new maps -…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought, played, and enjoyed all 3 of these games. got through all the campaigns. if you are looking for a cool game to try, I feel like RoA2 is a better choice for most. It's slightly more polished, quite competitive, and has more cohesion in theme. If, like me, you really enjoyed RoA2 and want more of it, then don't hesitate on getting this one. Some caveats: on a computer with no dedicated GPU we ran RoA2 just fine. This game would not launch. If you don't know whether or not your machine…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have completed all of Rock of Ages 1&2 and really enjoyed them. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for Rock of Ages 3. The game truly feels like it was made by Millennials and the humor really shows it. First of all so much of this game is literally stuff from Rock of Ages 2. There was no real change to many of the models or gameplay mechanics other than some of the few things they added like a thing that spins and a man that when hit blocks your camera. Not only that, but the new…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rock of Ages offers a refreshingly unique experience with a cool concept and very funny storytelling. Unfortunately, there are a plenty of bugs in the game, some worse than others, but must of them not game-breaking, although still very frustrating. Nevertheless, I can still really recommend this came based on its unique experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →like the game Pros: - A lot to do, tons of different boulders and customization - Many Cutscenes and levels to play in story mode - There Is A Level Builder Cons: - No way to easily play levels you've made with your friends online (have to search for them in recently made maps) - very limited amount of things unlocked for online play at the start so your friends will have to play through the story to have a decent amount of towers and boulders
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun, not as good as the other two imo but is still a blast
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Funny, Unique, Good amount of content, 2 player
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rock of Ages 3 : Make a Break Review in 2025 To be honest, of the two Rock of Ages games, I find this one to be unfinished, terrible, and sloppy on the part of the developers at ACE Games who worked on it mainly the IT Team. I'm a fan of the series myself, but I feel like this game could have had more potential. Unfortunately, this game was more than disappointing. Rock of Ages 1 and 2 had something special about them, the humor was more acceptable and entertaining, better, and at the same…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →【 134 Hours & 100% Completion: Monty Python Meets Super Monkey Ball 】 Spending over 130 hours and grinding out every single achievement in a game about rolling a giant smiling boulder through historical dioramas is a very specific kind of madness. Rock of Ages 3 is a bizarre, deeply charming, and occasionally infuriating mashup of tower defense and high-speed arcade racing. It is quite literally the only franchise in existence where you can defend your castle with herds of explosive cows…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →im hard of ages as a rock of ages
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A rock solid experience, and another great entry to the series. Personally I did detect a slight but noticable vibe change with the look and humour, but It was still a very enjoyable time. I had a blast with the new units and boulders, I quite enjoyed the bosses, and I actually had a great time with some of the races and the Humpty Dumpty levels. This is definitely a must play for fans of the previous two games, and just for anyone in general.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its just a janky downgrade from the previous games. The physics are inconsistent and weird, and theres some serious play testing that did not happen. ive played for 5 hours and noticed many glitches and mistakes

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is one of the best single player game i have ever played 10/10 love this game besides the time trials
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Greatest game ever. Slightly inclined learning curve, but you'll roll your way around (the curves) in time.
Dalabym max 3/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →trash this use to be fun but know it just a he face ai that's inpossable to beat and ai that cheat when racing the boulders just did a race were the ai just toke a u turn no stopping no nothing just full speed thought the u turn when i do it i'm in the wall and off the map its so lame too see a good game ♥♥♥♥♥♥ but by devs thinking there doing good when no there not
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, it's pretty disappointing. It feels like a RoA2 reskin except with a couple new features that don't make up enough to make it worth playing. The Map gimmick is great, I'll give it that, but that's about it. They introduce a new gamemode which is probably my favorite, but you can't even choose it in the level editor. And speaking of, the level editor itself sucks. It's very clunky and bad because often times it works against you. Even though it seems like something should work, like…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i didnt like it it was too hard for me
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game sure is unique. I like the goofy history settings, the visual style, even the music (even though the covers of classical music get old very quickly). The gameplay is unique, in a "nobody ever really mixed all these genres together before" kinda unique. But as bold as the mechanics are (mix of tower defense, racing, physics, destruction), they sure don't work for me. It seems to have some kind of cult following, so I don't mean to spit of all these people's fun. So if you enjoy it,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ok i think this game is fun now
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is designed to be tedious, not fun. The AI can only win by cheating, so they are given more resources than the player, this is not good game design. Time trials are designed in such a way that one mistake costs you the gold. The minigames like skiball are so easy it's impossible to lose because they can't help the AI cheat. Some levels you can only beat with certain balls or great luck.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is so annoying man
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fun for the first few times you play with a friend and when doing the campaign, but it's quite short and overall the game is very very very unbalanced to the point of using the same defences and boulders over and over.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The worst rock of ages game i played the multi rock selection doesent work i dont get any towers for playing online only one player gets the reward while the other one is stuck with the basic rock over all dont recommend buying
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a gameplay and humor style that's hard to find anywhere else. If you can get it on sale, you won't be dissapointed. It does lack in the replayability category, and the editor, while there, is very rudimentary and community maps are lacking.
