Is this game a masterpiece? No, certainly not (yet). It is still in Early Access. You are thrown into hell, but you don't think you belong there. So you decide to climb out. There has to be a way out, if you just climb up long enough. And you have all eternity for it, whenever you die, you just restart from the beginning. Again and again.…

Gameplay is the high focus of Rising Helll, delivering an arcadish spirit where your fortune balances between your own skill and items that are randomly placed. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game took me by surprise! It's fantastic! And this is coming from someone that doesn't usually play games of this genre.. It took some getting used to at first, but I immediately fell in love with it. The controls are great, convenient and you can remap them if you want. They are also extremelly responsive, so if you lose it's on you! Fair game with a variety of different modes and characters. It's a "small game" in the sense that you have three worlds and one final boss but it's has huge…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game's greatest strength is its simplicity. Jump, kill, dodge, kill, jump. It may not sound too exciting, but the devs have made sure that this formula is ceaselessly fun. Gameplay feels fantastic. It's not the most in-depth game you'll play this year, but that's alright. It's fun as hell.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is just a genuine surprise, really. I came in it not expecting anything, but seriously from the moment I started it I was in love. I love the soundtrack and the animations. Just a great time overall. I just died on my first playthrough but I had to come in here and say GET THIS GAME FFS. It's literally a dungeon crawler with a spicy hellish meatball on top. Totally worth it

Rising Hell’s smooth mechanics and sense of style make it one to watch Hell is a popular setting There is no shortage of roguelites out there and they mix all kinds of scenarios and genres. Action platforming is a popular mix. Rising Hell enters the fray with players having to climb up through hell bashing demons along the way. It’s vertical focus pushes players to act quickly to avoid traps and tear apart the denizens of hell to…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Great Take on Roguelite Games Would you rather watch than read? Me too. Check out the highlights of the gameplay here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqhjcHaAYNY Rising Hell combines a bit of action / combo based combat with a rogue-lite formula that you are used to. Each subsequent playthrough will most likely give you currency to unlock new weapons and a new character as well as sharpening your skills for the next run. The combat is fast and tactile, with your moves comboing nicely from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →By god are the controls awful......you see in the options the control scheme and see that there is a distinction between jump and attack.....there is no difference, jumping is the attack.....its god awful. Hideous to say the least. A double jump wont work lots of times and when trying to hit a grounded enemy that is right beside you....you of course jump in the air first. I hate it. Doesnt take long to realize that, the game is not for me due to the controls. Definitely getting a refund and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/a5H_4Gpb84s Vertical action rogue-lite platformer that is kind of a blend of Towerfall and Mega Man with hell-themed visuals and a metal score. One character (as featured in the video above) is a brawler, while the other has a ranged attack with less health but more powerful. Easy to pick up and the more time you put in the more you advance and unlock additional things to bring in with you to make traversing the many levels and various paths easier. Fun old-school tower…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Obviously I haven't played enough to get super far or unlock a bunch of things, but just the core gameplay at this point is solid enough for a recommendation. This game just feels really good to play. Lots of combos in the combat, powerups that make a difference, plenty of difficulty but it doesn't feel unfair and has a good ramp up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beat the game on my first run and under an hour. I was flabbergasted if this was all the game had to offer and after examining the achievements, yep. That was it. No other last bosses or anything. Just "challenges" I suppose but there are plenty of other games that are actually fun while doing challenges i.e. Crypt of the Necrodancer. Trash mobs can be just spammed and instant killed the entire game. Every boss felt like a tutorial boss. Roguelikes typically have replay value if they hold…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Old school arcade game with beautiful art, animations, sounds and gameplay. Just perfect and challenging. You can unlock some passive talent and relic, but it's hardcore mode, so you'll restart from first chapter on death. If you complete the game, you can restart with increased difficulty and so on, besides extra modes like challenges. Here is a full run at difficulty level 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4C5K0DihNrw (It's stuttering a bit as i had an unfixed issue)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seems like a great game with potential, but not too much content right now. The second "class" (archfiend or whatever) is a lot more fun. I'll have to explore some more. Blight gain seems to be pretty random, though. I gained 9 one run, and 1 another.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The pixel art is great, but I can't get into the gameplay. It all feels very sluggish, especially the transitions. There's not a huge amount of variety in the levels, from what I've played (a few hours, if you include the demo). And I'm not a fan of the soundtrack (but that's just me). I also noticed that the majority of players drop the game after a few hours. Give the demo a shot, but I can't recommend this game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My first impressions video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4XqPYDp-U0 If you've ever played [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/360740/Downwell/]Downwell, first off you really should because it's awesome. If you have, Rising Hell is kind of like if you took Downwell, made it go up instead of down, made it about fighting demons to escape Hell and also made it metal AF. This is a Roguelite but not terribly complicated as that genre goes. There are additional characters and power items…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One could jokingly call this game Down-hell as a joke, given it's theme and obvious Downwell inspiration. But there's a tad more to this game than you'd think. Not to mention, just like that game this is a rogue-lite/endless runner hybrid. But while the similarities don't end there, THANKFULLY Rising Hell has enough differences and its own "flair" and tricks of its own to stand up as its own game with a similar feel rather than a ripoff with just a different coat of paint. The ways it does it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →RECOMMENDED GAME! Worth to play if you want to refresh yourself because of your stressful daily routine by slaying and rekt the hellish horde! With the unforgiving roguelike game this is good one! Already finished the hardest difficulty but still fun to play with! Gonna wait for the update of the next level since it's still in early access!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →GAMEPLAY: 7.5/10 An unforgiving roguelike game. Yes, it's roguelike! With so many monsters and traps here and there, the mini bosses and the boss is crazy as well, yet the recovery items are rare, and you'll reset the game play if you die. The permadeath system only left the purple gems for you to acquire additional weapons. It needs about 30 minutes play time for me to understand the mechanics and patterns. I like the mechanics where you can attack the enemies by only jumping into them from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dude, this game is HARD. I'd even say unfair in certain aspects. However, it's quite addictive and fun. After you finally beat that final boss, you remember why you play games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →as far as a value prospect goes, its not amazing. the game has 3 main playstyles, two of which are fairly similar, all 3 of which will probably end up playing very similar due to a universal mechanic. each has 3 subvariants based on universal collectible items called 'artifact weapons', those being green, blue, and red. these last for maybe a minute or two depending on which character you are playing, but they do make you feel truly strong in that moment. generally each boss guarantees you'll…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun and great sound track and sound effects. lacking content but hopefully it gets better over the course of early access.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rising Hell is an action roguelite where you ascend towers and fight bosses at the top. The games primary protagonist is Arok, a sinner with a power to kill demons. Your goal is to rise up, defeat the devilish hordes, and escape hell. However, there are to other playable character to choose. Each with unique moves. The pixel art graphics are wonderful, in particular the character and attack animations. The combat is really satisfying and features a combo system to rack up high scores and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're browsing reviews and trying to figure out if this game is worth your time and money then here is a quick answer for you: YES. It's a must have game for anyone who enjoys action packed platformers! What attracted me when I first saw this game was its overall concept. I will keep it simple for you: you control a demonic creature who's mission is to escape Hell. And you gotta love the devs take on Hell in this game. It's basically a vertical tower-like place which you have to ascend in…

unlabelledView post →Decent Mid-Tier 2D Roguelike Platformer Rising Hell is pretty fun for a few hours, but lacks staying power In Rising Hell's main mode, we play as a character from the pits of hell who wishes to escape. It's hard not to draw parallels with Supergiant's game Hades, which was released right around the same time this one was, but Rising Hell has a completely different vibe. Rising Hell is a hectic, high-energy game, featuring four playable characters with different stats and playstyles. The…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loving this game. 10/10 A must to have on your steam library. Edit: This game is still great but I liked the old animations of the characters a lot more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the game!!! Spend more than 10 hours since closed beta!! If you love rogue-like than you are going to love this game!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →✔ fast paced ❔ melee attacks are nearly useless, since double jump deals more damage and kills everything in one hit ✘ very samey runs ✘ healthpool based combat (bosses are easy when you have full health and very difficult when you start with low health, restorative orbs and upgrades are the best, etc) ✘ a lot of randomness (including restorative orbs) ✘ lack of precision in combat (partially because of the auto-target double jump attacks)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game isnt terrible, but it feels like a bad mashup of deadcells and reverse downwell The core issue with the game is that the movement and combat mechanics feel extremely sloppy. Its fun at first to just blast threw the game and 1 shot enemies because the sound and animations are pretty good. But when it comes down to fine control of the character with the more precise sections of the game, like the boss fight's it just feels like you cant fully control your character. The game doesn't…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heyyyy this is a dang fine Early Acess entry into the ever-expanding roguelite genre. But here we have a streamlined level design - you go up. thats it! however, the way things happen are quite random, and you are also given choices of how to progress at times - such as choosing your next room to be the one where you are chased by fire, or perhpas you wanna try your luck at the spire where you have to leap from enemey to enemy while racing against a set of nasty buzzsaws, and a spike lined…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Intersting take on a roguelike platformer. Crisp graphics with a rocking soundtrack that never got old. Tons of replay value and items to work for, challenge mode and other stuff to explore. Challenging difficulty. Worth a try and at a fair price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A unique take on the rogue-lite craze. Great graphics and smooth controls. Fun weapons with satisfying sounds accompanied by a heavy metal soundtrack. Lots of replayability with a fun gameplay loop. Very interesting enemies and bosses, simple traps and plenty of upgrades to unlock and try out. I really enjoyed my time with it and will be revisiting it again and again. Definitely worth a try.

unlabelledView post →Rising Hell is yet another of literally thousands of console ported 2D retro pixel platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This one is a short "rogue-lite" (more on that later) where you have a choice of characters with unique abilities and the objective is to jump up a procedurally generated tower and hack up everything on the way, then kill some boss. You can collect various currencies from killing stuff and spend it on upgrades. There's…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like this game because of the novel visual and music.. But the game itself lasts 1 1/2 hours really not much depth out side of dash and AOE limited weapons, and basic relics that more or less time unlock your strength for progression, rinse repeat.. https://howlongtobeat.com/game?id=82171 I gave it an hour its Ok, but its way too samey :sadcthulhu: My advice is if you want games like this that look and feel like that then Support them, but when it comes to playing it .. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been eyeing this game for a while, waiting for it to enter full 1.0 release. I bought it immediately, and so far, I am so, so impressed. The core controls are simple: you have your attack, you have your jump (which doubles as a cool aerial finisher), and you have your i-frame dash. It's simple, but it works; movement and attacking is buttery smooth, and opens up the real core of the game: the platforming and movement. The platforming and environmental design is simply wonderful. You'll be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the production design, demo was great, gameplay is pretty good and enjoyable, but can't get past second boss. Can't even get to it's third form.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring AF. I played it once until my first death, and absolutely nothing I experienced in that time got the pulse remotely racing, it's just vertical button bashing. It felt so ponderous and one-step. Refund requested.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A roguelite platformer with a cool retro aesthetic and a metal soundtrack. 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its more of a neutral review but the lasting feeling this game left me is that if you play the demo you got a pretty good idea of what the rest of the game looks like, then again people loved vampire survivors so disconecting the brain and getting power ups as the numbers go up might be right up some people alleys. Just not mine.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is ROCK!!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Robert, it go up?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What I love about this game is the speed, you move and attack so fast, dashing around non-stop. The game really rewards the whole risk/reward system. Do I want the skill that's gives me more money in the Trickster's shop? What If I don't have life to sacrifice for money? The game gets really fun once you level up enough to get artifact that give you special weapons permanently, which can change the game a lot and make it more fun and exciting. When I heard the term "Roguevania" I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →idk why i bought this, graphics are too manly and needs more cute anime girls
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A decent arcadey game for what it is, but unfortunately not for me. The combat is just too simplistic, you have one attack button and a jump attack ("hellbreak"). There are some temporary buffed weapons ("artifacts") but that's about it. The variety comes from unlocking more characters and starting boons. It's....fun, but I just couldn't help myself thinking that I'd rather be playing Dead Cells. The combat is just a bit deeper there. Of course, that game costs 2.5x what this game costs, so do…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun little game who's fun derives from mercilessly slaughtering demons for your freedom, the mechanics aren't clunky, some demons have special traits like having to use a specific attack in order to even hit them or being able to block certain attacks. The talents allow for many different play styles whether it be artefacts, healing, currency or just more damage it's fun to play with and experiment as you unlock new talents. the bosses are also very fun, they all have different focal point…
