Danger Scavenger was a game I tried out in the early stages of Early Access, it looked like a really cool game but after trying it for a while, I noticed that things got plenty tedious. The repetitive motions of killing enemies and then collecting scrap, trying to get the most out of the clear floors before moving on, etc. There was an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good concept, poor execution. Player 2 does not get to retain/maintain their own loot, every time Player 1 does a solo playthrough, I suspect Player 2's inventory is reset to empty, because any time my co-op partner wanted to play, they had to earn everything again, while I sit in my pile of loot I invested in. Game starts to lag at later levels due to unknown circumstances, when me and co-op partner were playing, the second I died, the lag disappeared. Beat the game in 17 hours, could've been…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To state the obvious: This isn't like Hades, Isaac or Gungeon. It is more like a Nuclear Throne or SYNTHETIK kind of thing. I enjoyed playing it so far. The use and style of items remind me a lot of Risk of Rain 2. good things + crisp gameplay + characters that, at least in the beginning of a run, feel very different from each other + fancy lookig graphics + two different gameplay mods + easy to understand weapons and enemies, without being too simplified + good gameplay for a good price…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far I love this game. I have played it on the Atari VCS and the PC. Danger Scavenger is a twin stick shooter. Move your character around, dodge the incoming fire and PvE damage, and take out the enemies. If you have ever played Yars, Black Widow, and other twin stick shooter you will be right at home among the carnage. The graphics are very nice, sort of remind me of the game The Descent. Sound and music are very suitable to this game. Highly recommended, especially if you can get it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't recommend this if you want co-op. Local only. Shared Screen (not split) only. It won't co-op with mouse & keyboard either but instead forces both players to have controllers connected. Additionally, it is buggy and unreliable to start the game. We almost gave up several times due to being unable to pick characters and weapons. Gameplay in co-op is a confused mess as both players are surrounded by ever-growing clouds of drone/pets and missile effects thrown off by gear. Given that you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game checked all the boxes but just isn't very fun, and I'm not entirely sure why. It teeters between being tedious and frustrating without ever being in the zone where it is challenging/fun. Maybe it's just me, but it never really clicked with me
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Ascent, indie dev, rogue lite edition with Everspace like progression that soon turns into bullet hell chaos. That pretty much sums it up. It's a twin stick shooter with multiple classes, each run starts at tower one, you progress up the tower completing levels as you progress to the top level to defeat a boss, then go on to the the next tower, rinse and repeat, with 5 towers to complete in all. As you progress up a tower you get to pick which level you want to play with multiple choices…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A rather mediocre twinstick shooter. It tries to encourage replayability by providing different characters and gating unlocks behind accumulated score, but the game is so braindead easy, samey and repetitive that playing it rapidly becomes a chore. Once you've played through the game once, you've seen the whole game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The difficulty curve on this game appears to be a straight line. I have barely played 1 hour and managed to complete stage 3 on my very first run (which according to global achievements has a ca. 14% completion rate...) Every 9 out of 10 floors I could basically stay right at the start and just shoot every enemy until the floor is clear, get all loot and move up, rinse and repeat. There's 3 MAJOR FLAWS which make the game possible to complete that way: 1. Many weapons don't have ANY range…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really fun roguelite shooter where you go through different scyscrapers one floor at a time to face off against the boss at the top floor, and collecting various item pick-ups (basically buffs) and scrap (currency) along the way. Between floors, or if you go into a floor with a workstation, you can upgrade your weapons and items with scrap, and this is where the real over-the-top shenanigans is, in my opinion, and you can craft some really powerful and fun weapon combinations. The shooting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got it on sale the other day, for £2. Its enjoyable, but don't pay full price for it as there are many glitches that cause you to need to reset the game as you cannot control the player
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is way too buggy. Controller does not work in pause menu or death menu, and the mouse doesn't even act right for the death menu. Game play is ok. There is this really annoying zoom in and slow motion effect that is disorienting and obnoxious and its never clear why it triggers in the first place. Just bad design. A dozen other games do it as good or better without the amateurish glitches. My controller works fine with any other game. This one has been out for a year and with this bad…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seems cool but can't stand the slow lazy camera. Please add camera movement speed options. Fixed to player + fast move to follow aim. I would prefer camera fixed to character in centre at all times.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Broken game. Won't launch. Bug report submitted by multiple people, dev said they'd look into it, still radio silent after [url=https://steamcommunity.com/app/1169740/discussions/0/3272435584430203350/?ctp=2#c3459346274652442205]4 months. I think that's patient enough, so here we are. I guess they were too busy [url=https://steamcommunity.com/games/1169740/announcements/detail/3405301288260931963]making it Steamdeck compatible instead. Gotta ride that hype wave. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Works fine for the first 20 minutes, perhaps. After that the performance goes down for every level played without reason. Played multiplayer with a friend and a bug caused their character to maintain the bike animation after transitioning to a new stage, unable to move at all. Trying to save the almost 90 minute run, we exited the game which caused it to freeze. Upon restarting the game, every second played was gone. Only buy this if you absolutely hate progress.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hidden and underated roguelite gem, game reminds me of neon chrome and jydge. Shooting and movements are smooth, the upgrade mechanics are superb since u can mix and match items u get from your runs and keep them even if u die. Levels are a little short tho, Hopefully the devs added new biomes or dlcs in the future. Reccomended for roguelite lovers!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enjoyable little indie shooter that I'm genuinely kind of surprised has received this much love and refinement from the devs with such a low price and player count, though I guess playercounts in a predominantly singleplayer title don't tell the full story. It feels SO much better to play than it did when I first bought it, and even then I'd say it was an enjoyable experience, so it's only gotten better. Word of warning, if you want co-op, you NEED to have at least one person with a controller…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very enjoyable cyberpunk-like roguelike game with fast-paced gameplay. Pick your Scavenger, choose your path, clear all levels of each building and make your way to the roof to meet the ultimate boss. The variety of enemies and upgrades makes the gameplay richer.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Asset flippy attitude and problem with starting game is a bad sign. After finally launching a bit of a letdown. Roguelike top down shooter with not enough variety going on and low poly visuals. Pick your fav character from 4 available which will determine the fate of your journey. Controller working fine but in some moments I had to use keyboard to proceed (DualShock 4). Gameplay feels a bit slow. Plenty of weapons and items to find, ome are usable some are not. Create new stuff at the workshop…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Danger Scavenger is a Digital Homicide style asset flip. The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unity asset store packs, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve and to Nintendo (this asset flip was primarily targeted at the Nintendo Switch). It's worth mentioning some effort went into assembling other people's assets into making a real game here, it even managed to scrape through Sony and Nintendo's quality control, although I suspect if they had known this was just an asset…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quick 'Danger Scavenger' Review Continuing with random games I received in bundles that I don't know where they came from. Now we got Danger Scavenger. I went in with a very skeptical mind because it looked like ♥♥♥♥. That quickly changed because I started to enjoy most of it from the soundtrack to the gameplay. I started on the hardcore difficulty or whatever and got to finish the third floor. But then we come to the point I quit and here's the reason why. For some reason when I accidentally…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game with good concepts that is ultimately unfun because its biggest challenge is that it's hard to see what's going on. Map design is claustrophobic, you can walk off any ledge, ubiquitous barrels explode quickly, and every inch is full of breakable objects that obscure your vision. Add to that an incessant rain and constant static visual effects making the screen blurry, and it's just too easy to take fall damage or stand in an explosion that you didn't notice amongst the overwhelming…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You probably would get a few fun runs for your money, but nothing too fancy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like it. There might be a good game under the annoyances, but there are so many roguelites out there that I don't see why I should give a pass to these flaws. I won't even talk about balance and content since I quickly lost the motivation to go deeper. In one word: unpolished. The basics are simply not good enough in my opinion. The UI is underdeveloped, the sound design is underdeveloped, the art style is very charming, that's my favorite part, but there are some real clarity…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is pretty bland and boring for my taste, i had to refund sorry guys. It was way slower than i expected. I know it's in E.A. and all and to that regard it's got along ways to go before I'll be able to find it a worthy addition to my library. I've got enough games in my junk bin and if I keep the game it will end up there and just be a waste of $ for me in current state. For now i say nay. I might come back on down the road and try after full release, as I've fell victim to E.A. games way…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm amazed I've never heard of this game, it's now one of my favourites! Danger Scavenger is a roguelite dungeon crawler in a cyberpunk setting, with plenty of enemies, weapons, upgrades, etc. Each run unlocks new weapons whilst also letting you keep some of your equipment. I particularly liked how flexible the combat was, with my initial choice of shotgun being easily replaceable later on when a revolver proved far more useful. At specific points in your run, you'll have a chance to make a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- the game got some bug. - and its quite easy compare with other roguelite game. - i can end the game without die. - feel boring after play 2nd character.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So many bugs! Items disappear, runs get glitched out and force you to quit losing all your progress. So much potential, really disappointing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →having fun dosnt have to be complex =)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not the worst EA game I've tried but certainly an easy refund as everyone else has said. Controller doesn't work properly, including in menus, and the overall idea is a half baked rpg/rouge-lite not really sure of what it is that will most likely not satisfy fans of either genre. Could see this being a decent aRPG twin stick in the vein of Alienation if they could change course, make the weapon and itemization interesting, and rework progression and loadout...basically scrapping everything…

Good replay ability and value, good challenges, not as iritanic as other similar games, good visuals, and freaking cheap. Something catches me there to come once a while and try my best. Honestly? Prolly I'm gonna try to platinum this game. Finished it in few failed runs and that took me 9h of total…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is pretty good and enjoyable. I would recommend on sale as I had a good time playing. I love rogue likes and this one as average gameplay. I was happy while playing on my steam deck, but I don’t see me coming back much.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is it repetitive? Yes. But you also mow down enemies w/ various upgrades and over-powered equipment. I think the weak link here may be the level design, w/ all the choke-points and bottlenecks, despite the explained high-rise story. There is also a bit of under-explaining of mechanics and a little bit of too-much-too-fast in terms of menus; I'm not sure crafting was ever explained. I have yet to play it co-op, but I may return to play for a few more hours, but probably no more, just too…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rating: ★★★★ - Great Time Played: 2 hour Gameplay: • Top-down roguelite shooter with twin-stick mechanics similar to Neon Chrome and Synthetik. • Fast-paced and arcade-y, with short, punchy levels and quick decision-making. • You choose from several scavengers, each with different starting gear and abilities. • The game features two branching paths where you choose your next room (Combat varients, shop, upgrade). • Loot variety is decent but not deep (at least for the first playthrough). You…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It plays nice, it could have potential, i could play this more if i want to, but There's some annoying game breaking (Run breaking) bugs for example, if you dash and exit the level, you're stuck ! Good luck, you need to redo the run again. The game did not explain well on unlocking new items, weapons, you could be sitting at 2million scrap without realize you can spend them in the workshop in the base This game is real basic... yet it had flaws... I would rather play enter the gungeon or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Plays amazing on deck! A fun, fast-paced, addictive top down shooter! It is simply amazing 🤩
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun twin-stick shooter, but grab it on a sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun, small in its simplicity, but with one crucial flaw - you have no control over what items you save between rounds, and sometimes they disappear entirely. With ccrafting being a significant factor of success, losing items willynilly is unacceptable and a gamebreaking lack.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buggy as hell. Lost multiple runs due to character freezing after riding the motorbike into a new tower. There's no unstuck or reload into the current tower to fix it and all you can do is end the run.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a simple twinstick roguelite but is fun and worth picking up on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FIRST THANKS to the responsive DEVS!! They care about their game and the user EXPERIENCE. THIS GAME IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL .....Relaxing Action Shooter! ARCADE IN MY HOUSE!! Seriously, this is one of the most well put together and executed games I have played on Steam. The Range of wildly different Characters, moves and styles is simply breath taking. Every time you pick a new character the game experience changes vastly (like driving a motorcycle in a race and then choosing a MAC truck on…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game on 75% discount and I wasn't expecting much from it but it is pretty fun to play to be honest. There are enough guns in the game that you won't be seeing the same guns every game but it can have some more without any problems, that's what I feel like. The perks and crafting system is pretty good. Overall I would recommend this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Arcade mode is quite fun once you build up some high level items.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →UPDATE: It's a good game, but you might want to wait a little till it has more content & balancing. At first this game looks a bit shallow. You're on a rampage killing various robots, picking up guns and upgrades and fight bosses. But after your 10th run, when you start to think that it's kinda repetitive - it unfolds to you, that actually, strategy and combinations are a big part of this simple shooter. I mean - you have to understand how your weapons work, how you workshop works, how map…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm glad to see that the devs decided to bring this game into early access and I've played some of the changes that were made thus far. It's mostly pretty positive changes. My opinions in my video review are still relevant, but I do think this is a game worthy of purchase with a few caveats. https://youtu.be/EUvQl63Isi8
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I marked this as something I wanted to play a bit ago when I did my daily dive into the depths of the games that steam has failed and stumbled upon this gem and wishlisted it. Then it went on sale and I got it. It is pretty good. The upgrades are some of the best I've seen for this type of game and soon you are packing an arsenal that is no joke and each shot shoots 5 shots and every 5 shots shoots rockets and each rocket launches 3 rockets and so on and so forth until everything just…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Danger Scavenger is a fast-paced top-down roguelite shooter developed by Piotr Wolk and Star Drifters, with publishing support from Star Drifters and Doyoyo Games. Set in a neon-drenched cyberpunk world, the game throws players onto the rooftops of a futuristic city to take on an army of corrupt AI machines. Rather than traditional dungeon crawling, the action takes place high above the streets, where players ascend through procedurally generated buildings by choosing branching paths that offer…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is in the top 5 of roguelites I've played on Steam and I've played most. It's a twin stick shooter that the permanent progression comes from unlocking items and abilities. The graphics are great, the game is addictive, it has a great soundtrack, I really liked the cyberpunk theme. To be honest I have no idea why this is at 70 percent recommend on steam. I've played a lot better reviewed and just thought why? This game is better than those. Get this game,
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A twin stick shooter roguelite where you fight evil robots on the rooftops of cyberpunk skyscrapers. It doesn't do much new for the genre but this is very solid with some really excellent shooting and music. Some of the shootouts are intense and it's fun as hell mowing down robots with a minigun while boost jumping around the level. I played it for 7 hours the day i got it so it's pretty fun. Definitely worth it in a sale if you want to scratch that roguelite itch.
