unlabelledView post →I've been looking for a new shooter game to play. I like more hardcore / "realistic" fps games. My favourites being Rising storm 1&2, Hell Let Loose, Arma 3, Red Orchestra and Insurgency Most of those games need communication which I don't always have the energy for and that stops me from playing.
unlabelledView post →I'm imagining griefing in that game and just laughing my ass off, there's probably people who act like they're actual soldiers like the weirdos in Red Orchestra because REALISM
unlabelledView post →yeah i was thinking of doing something less half-like and more grounded and immersive like a traditional survival horror, i figured the "aiming deadzone" some shooters like Insurgency, Squad, Arma 3 and Red Orchestra 2 (ESPECIALLY Red Orchestra 2, love that game) would be a good fit
unlabelledView post →The funny thing to me is I'm totally fine with getting one hit ko'd if it's in a game like Red Orchestra 2, Project Reality, or ARMA, ect but in comp oriented games it feels so much worse.
unlabelledView post →I got Red Orchestra 2 and Rising Storm when they were free, as a bundle, way after they removed the single player. This game is what got me reading and romanticizing World War 2. Dynasty Warriors is just fun. My dad was a huge 3 kingdoms nerd, which passed onto me and my brother a little.

unlabelledView post →store.steampowered.com/app/1059220/... Looks like the Red Orchestra series finally died off totally. I really, really loved the first game as it felt deeply unpleasant to play. That may sound counter intuitive, but for a wargame that is just what I wanted. Each sequel lost something on the way.
unlabelledView post →This is about media depictions of guns, tanks, ships etc in especially games and their performance. Any game which doesn't work like let's say a Red Orchestra 2, and instead works with health-points and damage-point systems etc, assigns values on each thing which are so-chosen by a developer (team)
unlabelledView post →On an unrelated note, the team behind the Red Orchestra 1 mod "Darkest Hour: Europe '44-'45" has been hard at work redoing the game's models to bring the game up to as modern a standard as they can. If you're looking for a realistic WW2 online shooter that's not Hell Let Loose, this one's good.
unlabelledView post →Why hasn't someone done a survival horror game with the weapon handling of Red Orchestra or Insurgency? Seems like it would be an interesting escalation of the old school cumbersome controls escalating tension. Also feels good for replicating a non-trained person handling a firearm.
