negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This Crysis from year 2008 is still masterpiece and better then new games from 2025
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Before DLC plague our games, this is how an expansion was meant to be. As always Crysis Warhead was epic, brutal and interesting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A blast from the past. Psycho is an amazing character. I told myself I was going to play this game after Crysis 1 since 2010 and now 15 years later I was able to finish it. It felt so satisfying to be able to play this game once again. All the good memories and nostalgia came back. The game crashed a few times but I guess that's what we have for a game made 17 years ago. Non-stop action shooter. Feels like a Sylvester Stallone sci-fi movie, with Aliens. The plot is similar too: recover,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A remastered version is urgently needed. It crashed at least 4-5 times during gameplay. Being an old game, it has obvious optimization issues. As for the game itself; it takes place in the same time period as Crysis 1, right after destroying the Korean cruiser with Nomad, and the ending of this game merges with the ending of Crysis 1. This time our main character is Psycho. I really enjoyed playing with this guy, he's a favorite character for many in this series. It's a bit more tactical than…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The negative review isn't for the game itself but for the fact that its left broken and doesn't work on modern systems out of the box.Sadly I couldn't find any reliable community patches to get this working either, and as soon as I'd start to get into it the game would crash.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crysis Warhead is a stand-alone DLC for the original Crysis. In Warhead you play as Psycho fighting the Korean Soldiers while Nomad is fighting agains the Ceph. It is faster than Crysis, which makes it feel a bit shorter than it actually is. It adds some more weapons and characters. The ending is quite awesome. 8.5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the True Crysis 2 Pro's: -New Enemies and guns -Fight Aliens a lot more of the game now -Fight more Nanosuit foes now -Kill way more Exosuits -The levels have so much ammo, every other room or building has an ammo cache -Mission variety is way better and more fun then Crysis -Final boss is actually fun -Music is way better -Characters are better than Crysis -More side objectives -You can still stealth almost the entire game -You get a nanosuit team to fight with you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warhead is wayyyyyy better than Crysis 1! It's too bad this wasn't remastered, cause right now this is my favorite Crysis game! I still gotta play 2 and 3, but this is still way better than 1. The Korean A.I. has been tweaked to the point being spotted isn't so ridiculous! But to the first game's credit, maybe it's the Remastered version that is so wonky with the A.I. and bugs. Perhaps I shoulda gotten the regular version, but knowing me as an achievement nut. Psycho is way more interesting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crysis Warhead is a standalone expansion for Crysis.[url=https://steamcommunity.com/id/ZechsX18999/recommended/17300/] I highly recommended Crysis, so having more Crysis is always good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A relatively short expansion mission for Crysis 1. The level design and action are more streamlined than the main Crysis game. There are a few new weapons including a grenade launcher, and I found them quite fun. I especially enjoyed three levels involving vehicles. Nevertheless, if you enjoyed Crysis 1, then you should also enjoy this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crysis Warhead: 80/100 "the influence of Crysis knows no bounds... I underestimated it, honestly" Years may have passed since Crysis Warhead's release, but is graphical fidelity still feels light-years ahead of its time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crysis Warhead is pure adrenaline. More aggressive and faster-paced than the original Crysis, it grabs you from the first minute. Psycho is a charismatic lead, and the missions keep the tension high. It’s a shame that Warhead lacks an achievement. Honestly, it’s unclear why the game never got a remaster — though the original still looks amazing and holds up perfectly even today. 💡 Add-on: Every encounter here feels sharper than in the original, and the game practically shouts: “Don’t stand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An incredible sci-fi shooter, that strongly deserves a remaster like the 3 regular Crysis games. The whole game is great, but the last map....wow!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →where's the remaster?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Glad I was able to grab this game and the OG crysis for cheap Warhead not receiving a remaster or being embedded into the OGs remaster was disappointing as it is in a very poor technical condition
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DEAR CRYTEK, PLEASE WORK ON CRYSIS 4.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game its too bad they never remastered it or added it to the remaster of the original

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't get me wrong - I loved Crysis Warhead back in the day. A short and sweet standalone campaign that runs in parallel to the original Crysis while also attempting to improve on the gameplay. It's just a shame that the game is critically unstable and tends to crash all the time nowadays, so I can't recommend it to a modern buyer...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is still good in 2025. I like the combat and story. Long time ago I was using 9600GT to play this one. Now i am using RTX4070.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can it run Crysis? this was the question back in the day. To this day this game remains a timeless gem that will never lose its shine
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Crysis Warhead" might not be as cool as the original trilogy, but it's a great follow-up to Psycho's story. I really don't know why Crytek didn't remaster this one alongside the trilogy... but graphics and gameplay still hold up pretty well!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2 minute TLDR: Warhead is a story spin-off focusing on Sykes instead of Nomad, so you are following along with the main Crysis story. Best to play through the vanilla campaign first to get the most out of the story elements dropped here. A couple of new guns too from memory, basically more of the same - worth going through if you haven't tried it before.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crysis but this time the War is in my Head
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Replayed this for the first time since it came out in 2008. The story is still corny as hell, but the gunplay actually feels better than in Crysis. Keep in mind you’ll likely run into issues getting this to run on modern hardware without some troubleshooting. But if you get it working — and play it alongside the original Crysis — it’s definitely worth a playthrough, if only to experience this little time capsule.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More Crysis action - sick. Honestly don't find it looking too much worse than the remaster, but really lagged in the finale scene. Some of the older games don't benefit from modern multicore GPUs, IDK. Played on Linux no prob
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crysis Warhead, although it doesn't significantly alter the formula, is a solid expansion to 2007's Crysis. With less focus on the aliens, new vehicles, better balancing, and faster-paced combat, Crysis Warhead addresses some of the largest issues present in the base game. However, even though Crysis Warhead does many things right, the story, like the base game, still isn't very good. While the story in Warhead is slightly better than the base game’s in some regards, overall, I still found it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →IT's Classic Crysis!!! What can I possibly say bad about it!?!?!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crysis Warhead Review I absolutely loved this game. For its time (around 2008, I think), it looked incredible. There isn’t much bullet drop or realistic physics, but that never bothered me. I played on Delta difficulty and had an amazing time—it felt like I was superpowered, but not invincible. The stealth gameplay really stood out. Honestly, sneaking in this game felt better than in many modern titles. I had so much fun trying to stealth through missions, even though sometimes it felt like…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- Do you think, they are aliens? - Hell knows. Let`s just kill it © Even in 2026, it plays quite well. It feels like a 90s action movie. It has a simple plot, engaging characters, and a gorgeous soundtrack. Crysis may have been a technological breakthrough, but it's the expansion that makes everything feel so alive and engaging. It's a shame the remastered version skipped this part. I`m british, you muppet ©
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easily the best Crysis game from the story, to the action, and of course Psycho himself. too bad after this the game went in a pretty lame direction for 2 & 3, hopefully Crysis 4 will come back to its roots!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In case you haven't played, you aren't missing anything if you want more story/lore. But if you enjoyed Crysis 1 for its gameplay and want more, then definitely check it out. I mistakenly thought that Crysis Warhead is a sequel to the first Crysis, turns out it isn't. It's not a prequel either as the timeline of the events is parallel with the first game. To sum up the story - you basically play as Psycho after the Raptor team was separated. If you played the original you'll see Psycho at the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like Crysis but actually good. Unlike the first one - every single level here has some interesting hook, and the game gets going and never stops. All they had to do was lose some fat and adopt an all-killer-no-filler approach without changing the fundamentals - and the game becomes infinitely more fun to play, who would've thought.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crysis Warhead feels great to play and delivers more of that psycho-style action. It works well as a filler episode—short, but enjoyable. While it does show its age in places, it still holds up quite well. Definitely recommended, especially if you can grab it on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An improved version of the first Crysis — less buggy and more engaging in terms of gameplay. However, boss fights and cutscenes are still complete garbage. If you take the main story out, nothing really changes: cardboard cutouts in bad cutscenes discuss their uninteresting affairs with other cardboard cutouts. Played it, "put it on the shelf," and forgot about it — which is a shame, really.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Play it with the C1-Launcher on Github, and you'll have a blast.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game was fine, but couldn't get more than 10 minutes (and sometimes less than 1) before crash to desktop. Tried every fix I could find online.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crysis: Warhead – A Pointless Expansion I tried to give Crysis: Warhead a fair shot, but honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it. This expansion adds almost nothing meaningful to the original Crysis experience, making it feel like an unnecessary addition to the series. What Went Wrong 1. Lack of Purpose. The game doesn’t bring anything new to the table. The story is shallow, the characters are forgettable, and the events feel like filler content that adds no value to the overarching…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Better Crysis 1 Small add-on where you play as NPC from base game - Sykes (Psycho) - great character, taught me a new word that could replace an "idiot". Learning English with Crysis everyone. Gameplay wise, anything Crysis 1 lacked in base game, here is plenty of it. Lots of action and enemies to murder, lots of aliens. A lot more fights with other NanoSuits. Fights between humans and aliens are more frequent. Actual useful vehicles Also a lot more cooler final boss fight This game closed…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More Crysis Though being shorter, the story's more contained, and unfortunately more linear with level structure, Which is fine for the context of the story. Psycho has some actual character development, not just some grunt behind a suit. Plenty of new toys aswell, mostly explosives and a pair of dual SMGs. The intro cinematic blew the original out of the water, genuinely pumped to continue the story. Again runs flawlessly with the c1 launcher, tho since dlls are injected into the .exe,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended, but you have to do the work to get it to run on newer computers. It fills in the Crysis story well when you augment it with the Crysis comics, but Warhead is not essential for your Crysis series run. Many of the negative reviews you will see are about the crashing, but if you go to the discussions you will find fixes that work there.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I for the most part like the Crysis games, but unfortunately not this one. Granted, I played the remaster of the first Crysis, but this expansion runs on the original version of the game. That means all the issues from the original game that are have been fixed in the remaster are present here. The biggest issue is that the enemies can straight up shoot you through cover, even if the cover is a gigantic rock in the middle of a beach. This is a problem on the highest difficulty, which is the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was very fun. Built on the first one's story
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →GOOD LUCK GETTING THIS GAME TO RUN FOR MORE THAN 15 MINUTES ATTA TIME WITHOUT CRASHING!!! EVEN WITH THE PATCHES AND FIXES!!! it crashes whenever it feels like. Super annoying. Just dont even play this. what a shame. Whys thsi game get so much hate and like it dont exist. Phycho is the best character IMO this is a sick game, idk why they didnt incluide this with the remasters. Whatta effing JOKE!!!! PISS ME THE EFF OFF!!!! After about 2 hours of troubleshooting and 3 hours of playing off and on…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crysis: Die Hard Edition Warhead is a standalone expansion for Crysis 1 that follows the events of the first game but this time you play as Psycho (The British Dude, Basically Jason Statham). You run around the island as the aliens begin their attack all over the place with every weapon you could possibly need including the all new Dual SMG's. Guess we finally developed the ability for men to multi-task in this iteration. Story is ...passable because I enjoyed the gameplay. More of an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warhead is straightforward. The future versions try to get too fancy with an already solid concept. Just enjoy creeping through the jungle on a mission!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crysis Warhead. Good ‣ Expands on Crysis 1 story, even tho it's more like a parallel story. ‣ Keeps the manual leaning from the first game. ‣ Keeps the same sandbox elements similar to Crysis 1. ‣ Having Psycho as the protagonist. Mixed ‣ More action/combat oriented. ‣ Very Short. (it's way less than 7h, it took me that long because it kept crashing) Bad ‣ Crashes a lot. ‣ Has some game breaking bugs. ‣ Very outdated and janky. I wanted to play this game because I've…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You know I really enjoyed this game. It's not really long. A six hour game really. It doesn't change a lot from crysis. But it does manage to make the alien fights actually fun, and gives you more of what made Crysis good. Huge, pseudo open worlds to shoot people in. And it's great at that. Why this is big case for a thumbs down is because in the last 2 hours of the game, it just started crashing every 15 minutes. Which is bad when it crashes in the final boss battle twice, and it even…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was made with love from Europe. American game devs would never show such thing to the audience - Psycho gave a lecture to O'Neill to be racist towards North Koreans instead of just killing as killing unarmed Koreans that are peeing is against the law, rendering being racist a viable military tactic. GOTY. Normalize being racist towards different nations, just like the old days.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not playable out of the box on newer machines (Windows 11 for me). You can get it to run, but a game should not cost money, if it is not working directly
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was cool to see another perspective of the story from another character on that same Island Nomad was on in the first game. Although very short, the few new gameplay features made it feel the slight bit different to the first game. 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still a great game even today and it runs great with Lossless scaling on a 4K 240hz monitor. Game crashed 3 times during my play-through but that is just to be expected when playing something that was cutting edge and made almost 20 years ago on a modern OS like Windows 11. Wish they would remaster this but seems they only want to remaster console ports of PC games and back-port them back onto the PC, so stupid and a wasted opportunity. The guy that started off the remasters played it on…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Totally recommended especially when it comes on sale. Feels and plays better than the OG. But things I expect from a "sequel" even though the story takes place at the same time. Just little refinements here and there. Just a note since this game AFAIK can not be remastered the game is a little buggy. But the vast majority of bugs were purely visual. Shadows and outlines of NPCs would randomly show up as a texture on walls. Reflections/lights would show through objects. The game did crash about…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Neat little expansion. It has a few new weapons, like an SMG you can dual wield (not very effective) and a grenade launcher for example, and some gadgets I found completely useless. There's also one new OP weapon, which is a lot of fun to use, but I don't want to spoil what it is. The levels are more structured this time, and it has more differing locations. I definitely appreciated the variety. All in all, If you enjoyed the main campaign, then you should definitely enjoy this expansion as…
